I am starting to believe Kieron just sucks, his stories are always awkward to read.
Like what happened in the last page?
I assume that he asked his droid to upload something then told it to launch and self destruct in space, but then he says you can only trust droids?!
You can trust literally anyone if you kill them right after a secret mission you moron.

Malo podseca na Game of Thrones sa svim zabadanjima u ledja i tajnim politickim mahinacijama. Prica fino ide ali nekako mi ovo nije dovoljno grandiozno za nekoga kao Vader, al videcemo.

It is not the action scenes that made me love this issue (which in fairness is good), it is the conversation between Vader and Tagge that interests me the most.

The condescending tone and pro-Tarkin stand of the Sith Lord, plus his disgust over being just a subordinate to Tagge sparks a wit-bashing dialogue between Vader and the General Admiral. Tagge has a mix of respect and power-tripping over Vader and I believe he is thoroughly enjoying this rank superiority! Vader on the other hand has this level of distrust over the new Grand General.

The story is cooking in this second issue, still shrouded by the tragedy that is the Death Star but will definitely build up until it can stand on its own on the next issues.

If you are one of those fans who is trying to forget the prequels, then Darth Vader is relatable here because that is precisely what he is trying to do. He encounters a pirate ship whose crew is defended by what appear to be a new "breed" of Droidekas. Needless to say, these Destroyers are destroyed by Vader. He is also willing to destroy an astromech droid after it has uploaded the data that he requires. He then remarks, "Droids. One can always trust droids..." This final sentence is multi-layered. On one hand, Anakin Skywalker spent The Clone Wars fighting armies of droids. On the other hand, Anakin Skywalker classified astromech droid R2-D2 and protocol droid C-3PO as his friends. It is clear that Vader has purged lingering attachments to such trustworthy droids.

This one was a bit rougher for me. I immensely enjoyed #1, but this one detracted a bit for me. I'm not even sure why, but it wasn't holding my interest in the same way. That being said, it still made me want to read more, and I'm still interested in exploring more about Vader.

It's really interesting to see more closely as to how Darth Vader works. I am really enjoying this book.

It kept moving and gave a good interpretation of how I remember Vader behaving during that general period of the movies. He's a leashed dog who might turn on his handler at any moment.

The series continues to impress. The writing and art are consistently strong, and never fail to make Vader look awesome. Love it.

This volume has Vader in essence being 'demoted' to being underneath Tagge (similar to how ANH portrayed him as being underneath Tarkin). And in this volume, the story is basically essentially Tagge = Tarkin 2.0.

This series seems to be downplaying Vader (severely perhaps) whereas the old canon boosted Vader to power levels 90000. Not sure if Tagge survived the Death Star destruction in the old canon, but in this he at some point left the Death Star before the ANH battle and joined his fleet. (The old Decipher card game made General Tagge much more military than navy, and this seems to imply he might be navy and military).

This review will be the same for Darth Vader, Volumes 1-6 & Skywalker Strikes, Volumes 1-6.

I picked up these comics at the library. I spent about 30 minutes with each one. They are fun. I think the stories mesh well with the films. These volumes need read in order as Vader and Luke are characters in each and the timeline only makes sense if they are read chronologically. I enjoyed most of the artwork, the one exception being Han, the artist just didn't quite capture Harrison Ford. Right now our library only has these volumes, when and if more arrive I will read them as well.

There's not really much to these Darth Vader comics in plot. I mean, if you watched the original movie trilogy, you know what's going on anyway. If you didn't, why are you starting here? These comics don't explain the plot of the movies, but neither do they really add to what was already there.

HOWEVER the art is excellent. As with Darth Vader #1 the reason to pick this up is the great panels of Vader doing cool stuff. I wouldn't buy these, for sure. But if you can pick them up for cheap or at a library, it's worth it just to flip through for a few minutes.

It's really cool to see Tagge get included in these comics. The Star Wars universe can feel so big and small all at once. Using Vader's voice in your head helps distract from the fan fiction sensibilities. I really appreciate the well paced narrative.
It's also just cool to see Darth Vader existing beyond the films. If Disney ever makes a movie or series about him this wouldn't be the worst place to source material. Kieron Gillen could script it and everything. 👍

Overall, I liked it. - 3 out of 5 star rating.

These so far have been kinda middle of the road. Lord Vader I suppose just has such a massive reputation of standard, quality, power, fear, etc... to uphold, maybe that's the challenge faced?

This is reading like a RPG, where you're playing a game with Vader as the main character and going off on side-quests. This feels like a ~30 minute Level/map you would go through while playing.

Not bad, but nothing spectacular either.

"Kegagalannya" membuat Kaisar Palpatine sedikit meragukan posisi Vader.

A nice little side story. Vader is learning to be more cunning and wise about his moves. Nice character development

I liked how mysterious it is and it also leads into the next pretty well, still short though.
