Lone alpha wolf, Bronson Cunningham, dreams of finding a mate and starts to think it's possible when his best friend Asaph falls head over heels with Bronson; a sweet dancing omega. His curiosity is piqued when a strange letter lands on his desk, simply addressed "You smell like mine". That must be a shifter reference, right? But it seems the guy likes to stay in the shadows, because Bronson doesn't scent him anywhere.
Harley thinks he has every reason to hide. A savage scar on his face means his trysts are best kept to dark alleys. Watching his mate, he quickly realizes Bronson is one of the world's beautiful people. He wasn't going to be interested in a scarred tattooist from the wrong side of town.
A letter, a meeting, secrets are revealed. But is Bronson strong enough to stand by Harley's side when he faces his nemesis from the past...and will Harley let him?
Note: This book is a spin-off from Harder in Heels (Alpha and Omega #4). It can be read as standalone, but you will know more about the secondary characters if you have read the other one first.
M/M, contains intimacy between two men, coarse language and off page reference to prior abuse.
Lisa Oliver had been writing non-fiction books for years when visions of half dressed, buff men started invading her dreams. Unable to resist the lure of her stories, Lisa decided to switch to fiction books, and now stories about her men clamor to get out from under her fingertips. When Lisa is not writing, she is usually reading with a cup of tea always at hand. Her grown children and grandchildren sometimes try and pry her away from the computer and have found that the best way to do it, is to promise her chocolate. Lisa will do anything for chocolate. Lisa loves to hear from her readers and other writers. You can friend her on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/lisaoliverauthor), or email her directly at yoursintuitively@gmail.com. First, Harley wasn't an omega. It would have been a neat contrast if Harley was physically large and muscular but still an omega. It would have fit well with his inner white tiger animal.
Second, the ending was abrupt and very poor. There just wasn't enough wrap up for Harley and Bronson. It would have been nice to have some scenes with them settled in Bronson's house as a family unit with baby Franklin, such as setting up house, living together, and something sexy romantic just with the two dads.
Last, Harley's character was inconsistent. His anger at seeing Bob at the end was totally uncharacteristic and unwarrented. Bob did a very good job for him as a PI and Harley should have mellowed out during the following 6 months. Now Harley getting upset when Bob dropped the bomb was totally expected.
Rating: 4 stars I thought this was a good short story in the Alpha/Omega universe. I think my biggest complaint was the story moved along a little too quickly. I liked both Harley and Bronson as the main characters. Now that I think on it, their names are a little too cliché. I enjoyed seeing both Ronan and Asaph make an appearance in this book. Since this was a book in the Alpha/Omega series, I was expecting Harley to actually be an omega, but he wasn't. This lead to a bit of different dynamic from the other couples in the series.
I recommend this book, especially if you are fan of the series. I don't know where the author can go from here, but I would like to see the series continue.
Lisa Oliver is one of my auto-buys (except the BDSM series – but that’s just me ☺ ). What I love about her series is that she always gives us compelling characters who don’t always follow the typical “stereotype” but isn’t afraid to give us some clichés now and then, too. In this case we have an Alpha and Omega who meet and yet the Omega has had a past which makes him a bit frightened to be submissive. He’s also just so strong that he’s not your typical Omega in the first place!
There is very little relationship angst in this story and a lot of really fulfilling relationship building. Our couple works as a team for the most part and helps to defeat the bad guy together.
We also get a fun “opposites attract” story in that Bronson is so buttoned up and Harley lives life on the edge of society.
This was fun and definitely a standalone – though fans of the series will see a lot of familiar faces.
Highly enjoyable!
(Look for reviews for the whole series coming soon!)
I won't give a recap of the book because anything more than the blurb will give to much away.
However I enjoyed the book up until about 3/4 of the way through it. The remainder of it was a tad disappointing. I can't really say why either. I guess it started when a new character element was introduced as a permanent part of their family. It was sweet, but not how I pictured the start of their relationship.
At any rate I loved Harley and Bronson was so sweet to him. I loved seeing Asaph and Ronan again too.
I'll admit that the "Alpha and Omega" series is my least favourite of Lisa Oliver's series, that's not to say I don't enjoy them, they just aren't my on my favourites list. I enjoyed this one, especially seeing previous characters, but was a bit confused with Harley. I liked both him and Bronson as characters, but Harley didn't seem to be an omega, in fact other than his size, he seemed more alpha than his mate. Looking forward to Q and Sally's book
I liked that we didn't have a pairing where one mate was determined to be as cruel as possible to his true mate. This book was a bit of a breath of fresh air in that both Bronson and Harley actually wanted the mating to happen. I liked that Harley struggled with his self esteem and Bronson had to work to convince his mate that he was cherished and worthy of being so.
I really liked this story. She writes a very good book with great characters. The characters are well written and well defined. I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
Enjoyed seeing this story play out. And checking in on the other characters from previous stories. It was a happy and complete finale. Although a holiday story to check in on them would be fun
I didn't care for any of the characters. I wanted to like Harley but then he played that hurtful mind game to test Bronson. He was upset that Bronson failed his test AND expected him to apologize. Eventually Bronson did apologize but Harley didn't for his behavior. Like what? That's BS to me.

This is actually book 4.5-Was great to see Bronson find his mate. Harley is a cat with a history and pain. Was nice to brink the shifters in Orlando together.
The best part was the letter in the beginning. "you smell like mine" was what grabbed me in the blurb, but it was really the only thing I liked. Two stars.
OMG!!! Ms Oliver delivers another well written story. This story is a follow up to her Harder in Heels. It has Bronson who we meet in the other book. It was awesome because we also got to catch up with Trent and his mate Marly from The Biker's Omega. That was so cool. I am looking forward to Ms. Oliver's next story....Update...I loved this one so much I reread it 4 days after my first read through.
Alpha and Omega series. The story revolves around Bronson and Harley. Harley has a scar from a incident that happened when younger and he was unable to shift to heal. Bronson is hoping to find his mate not knowing his mate has already found him. The story between both characters is sweet and steady paced. Like all Lisa Oliver books, its a great, fun, fantastic read. You cant wrong with a Lisa Oliver book.
Another amazing book from Lisa Oliver. I swear, she's hasn't written a book yet that I haven't liked. As long as she continues to write, I'll continue to read. Eagerly awaiting what she has in store for us next!
I loved it was heartwarming and to see Bronson not care about Harley's scar Then to add a baby to the mix was genius. I think my favorite part was the burping incident. I love everything Lisa writes so I knew this would be another great one
I gave it 5 stars nothing less would do. I think a baby will do just fine in there. All the friends, all the bikers, and all the shifters will make a nice family. Thank you Lisa for such a good book.
Another nice addition to the Alpha & Omega series. This time with familiar characters from a previous installment. As always, a good pairing with a sweet HEA.
