The Lawman’s Convenient Wife by Christine Rimmer is a 2017 Harlequin Special Edition publication.

This is another outstanding installment in the Bravo series!

Jody Bravo discovers she is pregnant shortly before the baby’s father died. Quite by accident, Seth Yancy discovers Jody is expecting his late step-brother’s baby and immediately barges into her life, determined to help in any way he can. Marriage was the last thing on his mind, and love? Well, Seth had already met and lost the one great, true love of his life. But, he could be a father to Jody’s baby and they could be a family despite that, right?

This is a special and tender love story about two people who have suffered terrible disappointments and have experienced tremendous losses, but discover that much to their surprise, they really can fall in love and have the happily ever after they never thought possible. But, realizing that possibility takes a little work, especially for Seth.

I got a kick out of the way Seth pestered Jody in the beginning. She is grateful for his concern, but you can tell he gets on her nerves a little bit. It was so funny and really cute, but eventually things turn serious as the couple began to slowly fall in love. Seth is dedicated and loyal, and pretty much everything you could ask for in a guy, but he really struggled with his feelings for Jody. His story was sad, and I felt sympathy for him, but I still lost patience with his stubbornness.

Jody was much more open, and was willing to put her heart on the line to make things work with Seth, but she deserved to have his whole heart, and so she had to make some hard choices. I thought she did the right thing, at the right time. She had given him plenty of space to sort out his feelings and so she had to do what was best for her and her daughter.

So, as you can probably guess, the emotions run deep in this story and had me really worried that this couple might not make it. But, the ending was absolutely the most charming and romantic conclusion you could hope for!!

I really enjoyed Jody and Seth’s story and appreciate the depth and feeling of the characters. The plot is well balanced with sexy time, and serious, heavy drama mixed with lighthearted moments to make this a very well rounded and satisfying romance!

I highly recommend this one to all romance readers!!

As sheriff, Seth will do anything for his hometown, well, almost anything. He tries to gently refuse participating in the bachelor auction, but is deftly coerced into participating. He isn't interested in any type of relationship and hasn't been in the seven years since his fiancee died. Plus, he's still struggling with the recent unexpected loss of his brother, Nick. Later that day, when he learns Nick was going to be a father, Seth is shocked. There's no way Nick wouldn't have told him, and why didn't Jody, the mother? Oh yeah, a confrontation is coming but the outcome isn't one he expected. Nick had known before his death.

Jody, a flower shop owner, knows she should've talked to Seth about the baby, but the last time she saw him, at Nick's funeral, he couldn't seem to move her along fast enough. Afterwards, the timing never seemed right, and honestly, she assumed he knew and didn't care. Now she realizes he didn't and he does, and she can see how hard this is for him. When he informs her he'd like to help in any way, she accepts though she isn't sure how he can. Plus, Jody finds him intimidating, and though it isn't intentional, he makes her feel as if she's lacking in some way, which could just be her hangup due to the circumstances of her parentage, and the secret she's carried for years.

Seth has no problems pushing his way into Jody's life and starts checking on her, whether in person, by text, or with a phone call. Honestly, Jody is starting to like it and the fact that he already loves her unborn baby, and misses his brother, is obvious.

"Do you need anything?” - Seth
“Such as…?” - Jody
“Food. Supplies. Bottled water?” - Seth
“Are we preparing for the zombie apocalypse?” - Jody

Yes, Jody had everything under control in regards to supplies, appointments, assistance at the store, as well as plenty of family she could call on at anytime, but when her water breaks, and her usual go-to family, her birth coaches and sisters, are unavailable for various reasons, she calls Seth. Seth gets Jody to the hospital and refuses to leave her side, being there to see his niece, Marybeth, born.

"Could a moment change everything?" - Seth

Seth knows it can because he's experienced it before, and believes this is another such moment for him. He's determined to be there, not only for Marybeth, but for Jody too.

“Thanks. For the ride. For being here.” - Jody “Nothing to thank me for. I’m right where I want to be.” - Seth

What happens when close proximity leads to a change in feelings? Will Seth and Jody, both hurt before through the loss of a loved one and being betrayed respectively, open themselves to the possibility of falling in love? How long before Seth and Jody recognize and admit their feelings for one another? When marriage is brought up, is it for the right reasons? Will Jody accept that she may never have Seth's love? Can Seth let his past go and tell Jody the three words she longs to hear? Will they get their HEA?

One-click now and follow along as two people drawn to each other since they first met get the chance to explore where their journey may take them...if the past would loosen it's hold.

Very good story. Jody is pregnant and ready to handle everything on her own. She has everything planned out and is ready for anything. That is, except for the step-brother of her baby's father to get involved. Seth had had no idea that his late brother had fathered a child. At first furious at not being told, he quickly resolves to give Jody all the help she needs - whether she wants it or not.

I liked Jody. She's feisty and independent, determined to be the best mom she can. However, she can be a little too independent at times, pushing away the people that care for her. She has decided that marriage isn't for her, as that would mean risking her heart. She's been hurt twice before and isn't up for a doing it again. She's also got a secret she's been carrying for thirteen years, one that deeply affects her actions as a mother now. I loved how, in spite of being sure she's ready for anything, she still experiences the same doubts as any new mother once the baby arrives.

I liked Seth too. At the beginning he's pretty stiff and judgmental over not knowing about the baby. He had thought he was very close to his brother and couldn't understand why he hadn't been told. Seth is also one of those men who is very conscious of his duty. He has devoted all his time to his job as sheriff, avoiding getting involved with any of the women in town. He was in love once before, which ended tragically, and believes that loving again would be disloyal to his late fiancée.

I loved the development of their relationship. Because Seth won't take no for an answer, he is constantly underfoot, doing anything he can to make Jody's life easier. When she goes into labor early, and none of her coaches are around, Seth is the one who comes to the rescue. The labor and delivery scene is awesome, with the experience creating a big change in Seth. It's pretty sweet how he moves right in with Jody as a mother's helper. Jody knows she should send him home, but the longer he stays, the more she appreciates everything he does. It doesn't take long before they've developed an excellent friendship, one deep enough that they are able to share their worst hurts of the past.

It's pretty obvious that they are falling for each other, but neither wants to admit it. Jody has a pretty good idea of what is happening to her when she realizes that she doesn't want some other woman to win him at the bachelor auction. I loved Seth's insistence on following through with the date, and he really goes all out. By the end of it, he has realized that he wants Jody and the baby in his life permanently, though he still refuses to think of the L word. His proposal is sweet, but a little lacking. Jody, still avoiding her own feelings, agrees that they would suit each other well, and accepts his proposal. But once they are married, she realizes that she wants more than he appears to be willing to give. I liked that she didn't just give up, but was determined to fight for their marriage. She just had to get past Seth's stubborn refusal to believe that he can love again. I ached for Seth as he faced the thought of losing them both. I really liked how he finally admitted he should talk to someone, and that it was his father he opened up to. Seth's big moment at the end was awesome - romantic, sweet and pretty funny. I especially loved the epilogue and how it covered more than just a couple months.

I loved the always present support of the other Bravos and their families, as each one plays a role in Jody's life. It was pretty funny that they all could see the truth of Jody and Seth's feelings, even as they refused to believe. Jody's mom Willow was especially fun at the bachelor auction, as she prodded Jody along the bidding war.

There was one part early in the book that made me laugh out loud and really relate to Jody. When she was settling in for a night at home, her idea of relaxing was binge watching the second season of Outlander. As a huge Outlander fan myself, that made her all the more real to me.

I was so excited to read another Bravo book but was somewhat disappointed as I got into the story, especially with the high rating it was given.

Jody Bravo was pregnant, even though they used protection, by a one-night-stand who became a friend. She refused his marriage proposal and they agreed to share child rearing duties. When the baby's father passed away his stepbrother, Seth Yancy, couldn't believe no one had told him Nick was going to be a father and he had to hear it from a waitress in a local diner. Why had his step-brother not told him? And he was furious with the mother-to-be, wanting to blame her for him not being in the loop. While he was feeling this way our heroine was bothered that Seth Yancy had not checked on her during her pregnancy. Little did she know Nick had not told him.

Our hero, Seth, was pushy but he wanted to be involved in his niece's life which meant he would also be involved in Jody's. He was there when she needed him and he was staying with her when she and the baby came home from the hospital. He was a tremendous help and took such good care of both her and the baby.

Background on Seth: He fell madly in love and was engaged to a gal named Irene when he lived in Chicago seven years prior, however, she was murdered. He made a vow to himself to honor her memory by never dating, being in a relationship or loving another woman. This is where I had a real problem. His thinking was a bit skewed and made no sense to anyone but him. He was too macho to talk to anyone about it or seek advice...until late in the book. He was somewhere out in left field as far as I am concerned. He had even been celibate for the seven years since Irene died because of his vow...still honoring her by not being intimate with anyone else. Is this any way to live and do you really call this living...honoring? By the time he finally talked to someone and rectified the situation I was past really caring.

It was a fair read for me.

The book " The Lawman's Convenient Bride " written by Christine Rimmer is a uniquely written story of Jody Bravo and Sheriff Seth Yancy. Jody is a Bravo from Justice Creek. Prior to meeting our hero, Jody had a one night stand with the Sheriff's younger brother after a long dry spell.
Jody is extremely shocked when the stick turns blue and discovers herself pregnant. Unfortunately, her baby's father is killed in a farm accident. Sheriff Seth Yancy had no idea that his brother's lover was pregnant . However, when he found out he tried to be a stand up guy for Jody.
Things I loved about Jody. She was carrying a secret from her past, not just a baby. Not wanting to give it away to future readers but you won't be expecting it. Jody wanted so badly to be loved and to love that she had made some mistakes in the past . She wondered if she was making another one with Seth as she found herself falling in love with the handsome Sheriff. However, she allowed herself to get carried away by the whirlwind that surrounded she and Seth.
Seth was not without faults, one of which was that his heart is guarded because he had loved and lost. He cared for Jody but was scared to let go of his former love or admit his growing feelings for Jody. I love how Jody finally decided one sided love just isn't enough for her anymore. She took a stand for herself and her child.
Jody didn't use her child as a pawn but removed herself from the situation until Seth comes around to her way of thinking after a heart to heart with his father. Seth realized that he would rather love in the present tense rather than hold on to the loyalty or obligation to his past love. Finally, Seth was free to give his whole heart to Jody.
Christine Rimmer totally put a new twist on an old love story. I enjoyed watching Jody come into to her own and recognizing that she deserved to find love and happiness. Jody stood up for what she wanted and in the end, she got the family she had wanted. I would highly recommend " The Lawman's Convenient Bride." I couldn't put the book down.

It was well written but it lost me because yet again, we have a Hero who is still obsessed/mourning his past love/soulmate and it took so long for him to get past it that when he finally did, it just fell flat for me. He was also pushy and I wish Jody had told him to get lost!

Talk about protective custody! Sheriff Seth Yancy's way is something Jody Bravo is willing to take a chance on. Strong independent characters bound by honor and a desire to protect and love the child Jody carries. A story of the heart and its capacity to love, forgive and always has room for more to reside there.

Ms. Rimmer gives a story of laughter, tears; sorrow and joy and most of all love. Well written and reads quickly and smoothly scene to scene.

My rating of "The Lawman's Convenient Bride" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Wow, what a read. We meet Jody, a woman who owns a flowershop in town. We meet her sisters and cousins and brothers. We meet Seth, the local Sheriff. When he is having lunch one day in a local restaurant, a bombshell is dropped on him. What is it and what does it do to him? Where does he go from there? What does he do? It is so fun watching Seth make a pest out of himself and not take no and I'm fine for an answer. When Seth is roped into doing a bachelor auction at a local town park event to raise money for the library, what happens? There are some real ups and downs in this book. Some parts that made me cry, some parts that made me spitting mad (almost literally), and then other parts that made me cheer and cry in happiness. Definitely a book worth reading to find out what happens! I look forward to reading more books from this author.

"The Lawman's Convenient Bride (The Bravos of Justice Creek)" by Christine Rimmer is a perfect second time round romance. Both Jody and Sheriff Seth Yancy have loved, and lost. She's pregnant with Seth's brothers baby, but Nick the baby Daddy has died. What turns out to be a good friendship between Jody and Seth turns into love for Jody, but unfortunately Seth is unable to say it back.

This was the first Christine Rimmer book I've read. It was enjoyable, an interesting enough story to keep me invested, and the writing's good. I don't know, I just didn't think it was as amazing as the other reviews make it out to be. Everything was too fast paced, and the ending just fell flat, in my opinion. It was a good story though!

I really enjoyed Christine Rimmer's The Lawman's Convenient Bride. The characters were developed nicely, especially in the beginning, and I appreciated getting to understand their back stories. I also like the fact that unlike some romance novels, open communication wasn't an issue, and lack thereof didn't create some sort of easily fixed problem simply because no one shares what they're feeling.

My one downside to this book is just that the end seemed to come a bit abruptly and felt a bit rushed. I enjoyed the ending, just feel that it could have been developed a bit more.

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for the book in exchange for a honest review.

We met Jody in the last book, saw the start of her dealing with the surprise pregnancy with Nicolas, and his death. Now she's further along and has everything in order. She's got her supportive family there for her. Now she's got a surly looking sheriff in her shop asking about her baby and if the rumor he JUST heard is true.

Seth just found out that his step-brother is the father of Jody's baby. How could Nick not tell him about it? Now all he has to do is be there for her. What ever she needs. He wants to be apart of the babies life. It becomes life, he loves being with the both of them. He enjoys the feedings and the diaper changing.

They fall in to an easy routine, but Jody worries about becoming too dependent on Seth. What'll happen when he goes back to his own house. Slowly things start to change from just friends to more. But is it just more for Jody and an easy life for Seth to just settle in to.

I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read. While there was some drama it wasn't enough to ruin the book. Life has drama so it was like real life. I liked that Jody was so self reliant. Seth was a bit much sometimes but after he let her in and she learned about his past, they could move forward. I look forward to the next installment in this series.

I really enjoyed this story. Seth is loyal to a fault and it takes him awhile to figure that out. Jody has a secret that she hadn't shared with her siblings. When circumstances bring them together neither of them are looking for love or believe they can have it. It is a wonderful story, full of hope and redemption.

I loved this story so much. Jody is very independent and strong willed, she is determined to raise her child alone, unfortunately Seth wants to do the right thing and marry her and be there for her, but he can't give her love. This story shows how with trust, caring and honesty with each other true love happens even if you don't want it to. Read this book in one sitting I loved it so much, and the epilogue was absolutely perfect.

What a fun continuation of the Justice Creek Bravos! I had an early attachment to Jody (must be the flowers) and was patiently waiting for her happily ever after! I enjoyed the short journey of their romance. I just wished the story could have been longer, I wanted more...If you like this authors past books, then this one will not disappoint.

After burying his half brother Nick, Sheriff Seth Yancy becomes aware that Nick was going to be a dad...with one of the wild Bravo women, Jody to be exact.....just one more problem, after having been dragooned into being a prize in the Bachelor Auction set to raise money for the library.
Seth confronts Jody, only to find out she thought he already knew and didn't want anything to do with them.
Jody is strong and independent, but Seth wants desperately to help and be a part of the child's life. After a rough start they become close and then closer yet, he is there for the babe's birth and moves into her home to help out.
He doesn't want to feel love, because of the pain of loss and she won't accept less after a ;ot of soul searching.
Nicely woven tale of family connections and the power of love to overcome fear.
Part of the Bravos of Justice Creek series.
I requested and received an ARC copy for my honest opinion.

Honestly I wasn't into this book. Yancy was pushy and I just didn't like him. Then over time I was okay with him but just didn't like his character. Jody didn't need to deal with his pushy butt, I get that she seems like an independent women but she could've just told him to back off and leave her be at sometimes. Other then that connection between the two was okay. I didn't like how they just jumped the gun when it came to the marrying part. I mean they should've waited and gave it time and why would she even marry a man who wouldn't say that he loves her? I dont know the book was good but I just wasn't into the different situations that occurred.

Unlikely love takes us on a rollercoaster of emotions in Christine Rimmer's latest! Very relatable characters bring this story to life. We are taken into the heart of what it's all about very quickly, and then we get some additional development to the story as we find out more about their past experiences and relationships. I think you'll find yourself rooting for that happily-ever-after right along with me by the time the end rolls around!

Sheriff Seth Yancy is equally shocked and delighted when he finds out that Jody Bravo will soon be giving birth to his step-brother's baby. His little brother was the apple of his eye, and Seth was devastated when he was killed several months back. To hear that a piece of him will live on pleases Seth to no end, and he wants to make sure he's a part of it!

Florist Jody Bravo is a hard-working, self-reliant woman, and she likes to feel like she has everything under control. She wasn't planning on a baby right now, but she's happy enough with the timing and believes she's ready to be a Mom. When Seth comes to see her, she reluctantly agrees to keep him up-to-date with how she's doing until the baby is born ... but as he's a virtual stranger to her, it all feels a bit odd.

Seth eases himself into her inner realm anyway, and she has to admit that he's there for her when she needs him, and she's actually liking having him in her life. When attraction rears it's head, how will they pursue a relationship to go along with this ready-made family? Past secrets live in between them, but will they get all they ever wanted by simply believing?

I just love Christine Rimmer's books. Have you ever been in love with someone and never thought you could love again, well this would be our Sheriff Yancy. He loved with all his heart and lost this love and made a promise to himself that he would never love again ever to honor his true love but he never thought he would meet a woman like Jody Bravo and his new born niece Marybeth. Follow the love that develops through out the story, See what trouble blows in and can they over come it.

Once again, misunderstandings can lead to more misunderstandings!!

Seth Yancy, the Sheriff in town, lost his adored step-brother. Still not dealing well with Nick’s death, he accidently finds out his brother had a relationship with one of the Jody Bravo, and she is pregnant with his baby. Seth is livid that he wasn’t told, and confronts her about the pregnancy.

Jody Bravo liked Nick, but wasn’t in love with him. When she became pregnant after a one night stand, she let Nick know and they were just working out the details of how they would parent the baby without marriage. Nick died before anything was settled. Jody assumed Nick told Seth she was pregnant, so when Seth didn’t say anything to Jody, she assumed he wasn’t pleased.

Seth decides he’s VERY INTERESTED in his brother’s child. He feels like he can have a ‘do over’ with the baby. Jody is not thrilled with his interest and tells him so. She’s gotten comfortable with being a single mom.

The unexpected pregnancy and long ago choices come into play, culminating with the hard won HEA.

I am a fan of Ms. Rimmer and the extended Bravo family! I’ll continue reading all of her books!

Another winner by Christine Rimmer. Jody Bravo is going to get everything right "this time"--and Seth Yancy is determined to be part of the process! Throw in a beautiful baby girl--and the recipe for happily ever after is there. Its a rocky road for Jody and Seth though. Seth needs to grow up a bit and learn that the past doesn't define you--and that you can move on and love more than one person in your life. Jody learns to forgive herself, and falls for the handsome lawman!

Great story and nice to visit the Bravo family again.

Five Stars!

The Lawman’s Convenient Bride is Christine Rimmer’s seventh book in the Bravos of Justice Creek series. This is a standalone book but I suggest reading the other stories just for backstory alone. I was immediately drawn to both characters, but especially Seth. He’d been through a traumatic incident that affected how he lived his life. I enjoyed watching Jody melt his heart and help him learn to move on past his loss. This was a fast read that I read in one sitting. Ms. Rimmer never disappoints in her story telling. I highly recommend reading The Lawman’s Convenient Bride. You won’t be disappointed.

I just loved this book!!! In The Lawman's Convenient Bride by Christine Rimmer, we are yet again visiting The Bravo's of Justice Creek. Jody Bravo is eagerly anticipating the birth of her baby when Sheriff Seth Yancy discovers that his late brother is her baby's father. Seth's grief and longing won't allow him to walk away from Jody or her sweet baby.
Jody quickly discovers that raising a baby on her own is not as easy as she thought it would be and that Seth is more then just then just a helpful uncle. Jody is a strong, independent women who feels like love has passed her by. Seth is a wonderful, honorable man and he believes that he has already has his one shot at true love and will never know love again.
Jody and Seth are compelling characters that you can easily relate to. They are both sympathetic and memorable. Seth is a handsome, sexy lawman searching for happiness and Jody is a self sufficient woman who believes that she will always be on her own. I loved both of these characters and was cheering on their romance throughout the novel.
I cannot recommend The Lawman's Convenient Bride by Christine Rimmer enough. I could not put this book down and read it in one day! Seth's and Jody's romance is both sexy and captivating. You will be cheering Seth and Jody on as they overcome sadness, heartbreak, and fear to find true love. I just love Christine Rimmer's writing and her wonderful Bravo series! I can't wait for the next Bravo romance!

I just love all of Christine Rimmer Book's. The Bravo Series is one of my favorite. In the Lawman's Convenient Bride Jodi Bravo finds out she is expecting a baby just a few short days before the baby father dies in a freak accident. Seth Yancy discovers that Jodi is pregnant with his late step-brother's child and wants to help in any way that he can. So he barges into her life, wanting to do the right thing and marry her, but he can't
give her his love, as he already give that to a woman who he love and lost. Read the story in order to see if he can give his heart to another.
Follow the tender love story that develops thru out the book. I enjoyed the story and can't wait till the next Bravo story.
