In the second book of the Outzone Drifter series, Brogan travels to Grayfall, capital of the Devil's Quadrangle in his quest for vengeance. Dangerous and forbidding, he soon finds himself in trouble with the brutal slavers that run the town. With plenty of twists and turns, this is a worthy sequel to Winter's Edge.
In the last moments of his life, it occurred to him why they’d called the town Grayfall. It was something he had never thought of before.

Brogan's quest for vengeance against the killers of his wife and daughter continue in this second installment of The Outzone Drifter series. Surprisingly, I felt this could be read as a stand alone, as the introduction of other characters, such as Grayfall's Sheriff and the slaver super John Hall, were featured so cleverly that Brogan's continuing quest to find and execute Ritter didn't need much info-dump. And that's a good thing.
Rosa and Brogan are still an item, surprisingly enough for me. Although I was leery of her character in the first book, she's turned into a badass (and smart) post-apocalyptic gal in this book. The other female lead here is Petra, whose story we watched unfold in the first book where she is captured by slavers, brought into Grayfall, and sold off like so much labor. Her story, and that of John Hall's, is so far distinct from the Brogan-Rosa team. But, the Outzone has many lines of convergence, and I am truly eager to see where this story, and this world, goes next. Kudos to the author!
I could not put this book down! Grayfall is the second installment of the Outzone Drifter series, and it is another gripping, fast paced and action packed story.
This is the continuation of Winter's Edge (book 1) and shows Brogan and Roja working to complete their mission to take out Ritter. This isn't the soul focuse of the story either. It also picks up the story line of the girl that was kidnapped at the beginning of the previous book. I liked that it picked up this element and showed what happened, rather than just using as a way to introduce Ritter and Co. As well as this, it took us to a different part of the Outzone and continued the world building, showing another side to the Outzone.
Along with the great story telling, there is a good cast of characters. They all have different personalities and are all very individual. The characters are dynamic, and really help carry the story along. I would have like to have seen a bit more between Brogan and Roja, but I can see how this book can set up the next with different characters as the focus.
I have really enjoyed this series so far, and would recommend this to pretty much anyone; but especially those that love a good dystopian adventure. I looking forward to reading more in this world.
The Grayfall series continues to exceed my expectations. Sheridan's character and plot development keeps on getting better. A gritty tale filled with a large serving of just desserts.
These books were such a great read. I loved the differences from character to character...I read it with made up voices for each one. That's how much depth these individuals have.
Book two of the outcome series is jammed pack with suspense and plenty of excitement. You want a ride that will keep you on the edge holding right for the next thrill. This is the series you will want to read.
Good. I liked the way the story is unfolding and the characters. I didn't seem to be quite as good as the first however. I guess I wanted more progress in the story
