What if everything you have been told about the timing of the Rapture is wrong? The Bible teaches that Christians are not appointed to suffer wrath. But what if the first few years of the Tribulation are not God’s wrath, but the wrath of Satan and the A ntichrist ? Revelation chapter 6 clearly says that God’s wrath begins at some point after the midpoint of the Tribulation. That means Christians will be here for the first four or five years. In Wrath , the first in a three-book series, D. R. Roquemore follows a fictional family in Texas who discovers the truth about the Rapture. Their story begins a few months before the start of the Tribulation period and follows their attempts to survive the rise of the antichrist and the subsequent wars and famines.
End times prophecy and fiction find themselves together once again. I enjoy these apocalyptic series, Left Behind being the most popular. This is boom 1 of a trilogy with the 3rd boom to be released soon. The first book takes place after the world has already been divided into 10 sections something talked about in the book of Revelation. The story is narrated by a teen girl who’s family is dealing with the fact that the biblical end times seem to be ramping up and as Christians they have decisions to make. This book takes us from post tribulation through to the rapture. Leaving a bit of a cliffhanger for the reader. Having been written in a post 911 world this book tackles the AntiChrist in a way that makes more sense in the modern landscape than left behind. Also unlike Left Behind the anti christ is not a major character. The book deals solely with the first 3 and a half years of the tribulation and while we as readers know he caused it we don’t get insight into him at all.
As far as this topic of biblical apocalyptic fiction goes there is no better series than the Christ Clone trilogy by James Beausigner.
As a Christian and fan of the “Left Behind” series this book did not disappoint. I in no way consider this book scriptural as I believe the Bible is the only true Word of God and thus should be studied to show thyself approved. That being said as far as entertaining purposes I’d definitely recommend this book and wish that any and all would seek the Lord and a closer relationship with Him before it is eternally too late. Be blessed.
I couldn't put it down. Read in two evenings. Highly recommend. It is worth your time to read this concept of believers gong through first half of tribulation.
I am a Christian. I am a believer. I am far from perfect but am strong in my faith and pray often.
I am a little frightened.
Yes, I realize that this is a story, but the theory at the crux of this story, of the chronology of the Tribulation and the Rapture, is one held by many. Before reading this, I never believed His Church would be here when the Tribulation started. I was never taught that possibility. I was always taught that the Rapture occurred BEFORE the rise of the anti-Christ and the start of the Tribulation. Now? Now, I'm not so sure.
I have not stopped thinking about this from the first pages of this book to now.
This book did 2 things. First, it made me want to start stockpiling canned goods and tanks of water and to find some remote property in the middle of nowhere that's off the grid. Secondly, it led me to re-reading my Bible. Maybe the first one is a little over the top, but the way the world is at the moment, maybe it's not. The second? Well, that one is a good one. I can't see anything but a benefit to that. I was in need of a re-charge.
I enjoyed this book. It affected me, which is a good thing. It's not often a book stays with me emotionally and mentally after I've finished it. This one, and I suspect the rest of the series, will stay with me for a long time. What a great job by this author.
I am on to book 2, which takes place after the Rapture, and how those left behind try to survive the Tribulation.
Now, I'm off to prepare myself emotionally and spiritually for the Lord's arrival. Whenever that may be.
Have you ever considered the "end times"? What if everything you had learned about the end times and the rapture was wrong?
This family learned about a different ending of the world then they had learned. They found that they would not be raptured at the beginning of the tribulation, but would be here for possibly 4 years of the tribulation. They went to a friend who had studied this before and he knew the same thing. The more they studied the more convinced they became that this was correct according to the Bible.
Then they had to decide if they would stay and fight or flee to safety. The decision was made they would flee when the anti-christ made his announcement from the temple that he was in charge of all ten zones.
When that happened they took off on a 2 hour car tri to their secret hideaway. Find out what happened as they fled. Find out who all went. It is a very interesting book. One every one should read.
Who knows when the end will come, be prepared! I crave Revelation "fiction" and this is as thought provoking as Left Behind series. My issue with most of these stories is that money is always ample so suffering is so minimal in the grand scheme of end time prophecy. This book is no different in that respect. My only negative comment I'll make. More food for thought on the fight aspect which is the spreading of the gospel. We are in God's army and soldier on to reach others with salvation. If you don't know Jesus personally I encourage you to read Biblical prophecy for insight into what is to come...
It may be a novel, but the author gives one of the clearest explanations of what to expect before and after the tribulation. It keeps you on edge, you'll know where you stand if you're a Christian. If you're not, then there's only one way to avoid the mark. It's the only way to heaven. I just couldn't put it down. I read it in one and a half days. I highly recommend this book to both Christians and non-Christians alike. Be warned.
This book kept my attention the whole time reading it. After reading about half of this book I ordered books 2 and 3. I believe that it's a good depiction of how this very difficult time in human history could play out. I also believe that we are starting the beginnings of"birth pangs". I can't even begin to say how exciting this time is. I'm ready.. Come Lord Jesus!
It took a few days to read this book as I am not a Bible scholar and had to research my Bible to check the writings and see if this was just a story or did it tell the truth. Well, I am still not sure, but I have read a lot in the Bible. This story has me really searching for understanding of Revelations as never before. Will read the next one after I have digested this one!
I really wanted to understand where all this talk of a Rapture comes from, but this book didn’t provide that. It had one quote of a gathering, but that’s it. Aside from that, it’s a very good book about some people running from a fictionalization Rapture. Good character development, lots of tension. Very few typos. Enjoyed it.
The book was a very sobering read. Easy and fast to read. I had to dig up my Pre-wrath rapture book which it mentions. I recommend this novel to anyone interested in reading about the pre-wrath rapture and how it may play out. I will now read the next book in this series.
Very good book, if you can get past some of the "teen" writing. There are also a few things that are (to me) unbelievable, but don't want to mention them here if you haven't read the book. Overall, tho'. Very good read - easy read and thought provoking regarding end-times.
I do get upset when the spell- checks are not done. Several were scattered throughout the book. The main cxf reason I did not give it 5 stars. NO REASON TO BE SLOPPY. Hardbound books do not allow this many if any mistakes. I am waiting for a correction to be done.
I read the Left Behind Series years ago and was amazed by it, but Wrath has opened my eyes and it makes so much more sense and is more in alignment with the Bible. Great reading and listening. I highly recommend reading to everyone. I've already passed my book (hardcover) on to a friend!
I chose this book because I have always been interested in eschatology. I have always believed in a pre-trib rapture. This book presented a Couple of points that I feel the need to research. Is it possible the Rapture is actually pre-wrath instead of pre-trib?
Of all my reviews given this book is at the top of my list, everyone should read this book. I wish there were more like this. I recommend. May GOD bless the author as much as he has blessed us for this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is written as fiction but yet based on facts. This has opened my eyes to things that I am now researching. I highly recommend that every Christian read this book.
This was a great story. It is well written. I highly recommend it as well. Great for those about 16 and older. The author did a great job telling the story. Can’t wait to read the next one in the series either.
Definitely worth reading . Gives you a lot to think about especially in these times we are living in now. Characters could have been developed a little more. All in all a good read.
I recommend this book to every Bible believing Christian, no matter what they believe about rapture. As a Pastor myself I felt acquitted for having preached and taught to my congregation about this important Biblical concept.
Roquemore was very creatively convincing in this fast-paced, heart throbbing tale of the end of the world as we know it! It’s difficult to stop reading for the night in this page turner.
This book was wonderful. Very well written and thought provoking. I have always wondered about when the Rapture would happen, before or during the Tribulation. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Just when does the rapture take place? Before the tribulations mid tribulation or when? This book takes you on the journey of the rise of the anti Christ and his desecration of the world. The only problem with the book is it stopped too soon!
This book is amazing. I’m so glad I am a Christian and I hope that I’m not here during the tribulation begins but if I am.,I know that good is in charge. I will believe and trust him. He is my Savior and someday I will meet him face to face.
One of the best trilogies I have ever read. Made me think and research facts about the end times and beyond. I liked the characters and identified with them. There were some slow moving parts but it ended so well. Glad i took the time to read all three books. Worth the time!
I read this book almost unable to put it down. I loved Chloe letting us know what was going on every step of the way. I am not sure when the rapture will happen but I do know that the Lord will continue to guide me and my family.
I didn’t want to put it down. It moves you to immediately study Revelations to see what you overlooked. If you enjoyed the Left Behind series you must watch this.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for inspiration and knowledge regarding the Rapture and Armageddon. Reminiscent of others in the same genre.
