When her plane goes down near the front line of the ongoing war between humans and dragons, Aria comes face to face with one of the enemy, and then the terrible beast transforms before her eyes into a huge, devastatingly handsome man. Taken captive and brought back to the dragon's lair, she quickly discovers that he intends to keep her as not only his prisoner, but his pet.
Her captor wastes no time in stripping her bare, placing a collar around her neck, and putting her shamefully on display. Aria's attempts to escape are sternly punished, but even with her cheeks blushing and her bottom burning both inside and out, she cannot hide her helpless arousal as her new master takes her hard and thoroughly, enjoying her beautiful body in every way he pleases.
After she learns the truth about the cause of the war, Aria is forced to question everything she was taught, and soon her former enemy has claimed her heart as completely as he has conquered her body. But when the need arises, will she do what she must to protect the one she loves, even if it means being branded a traitor to her own kind?
Publisher's Note:The Dragon's Pet is a stand-alone book which is the first entry in the Dragon Brides series. It includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
Amazon Top 100, USA Today bestselling, and #1 bestselling author in multiple Amazon categories, Loki Renard writes sizzling hot, occasionally dark and twisted stories of dominance, submission and discipline.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Despite it being billed as erotica, the aspects of submission and slave/ownership were very mild and tastefully done. The sex was steamy, of course, but very respectfully handled. In the end (no spoilers) it's about the love story, not the sex for the hero and heroine.
Well written and edited, this book definitely made me want to read more by Ms. Renard.
What should have been book porn had no right being this romantic! Don't get me wrong, it still was book porn in all its glory and filled with things that should never happen in real life, but it was romantic nonetheless (though it was probably Stockholm syndrome). And it had a plot. Like an actual proper plot and I think that surprised me the most. There were many holes but it was still good. I for one definitely enjoyed it a lot. The author is very good with smut and if you're a fan of kinky spanking scenes, I'd recommend checking more of this author's books out. So yeah, a solid smutty read
Really more like 3.5 stars, but alas, that's not available. Actually well-written for what it is, which is an excuse for cross-species erotica. And there's an actual story here. The concept of dragons as aliens from another dimension is interesting. But here it's the backdrop for some Dragon Dom action. I don't totally hate myself for reading it.
Juvenile story, still characters, where abuse is well received by the feisty and sassy h. All elements that I dislike, so I struggled to complete this book. The h is a pilot, supposed to be feisty but is really rude disrespectful and stupid. The H is a dragon, easily captures her, decides to tame her. She falls for him even though he is abuses her, then when dragons decide to leave she is upset, becomes tolerant to radiation due to pregnancy with him.
Enjoyable writing style with no typos. The characters were well-rounded, especially Aria. The relationship between Aria and Vyktor developed a little too fast for my liking but the time span in which their intimacy grew wasn't unbelievable. The ending was happy and satisfying with enough twists and turns along the way that I thoroughly enjoyed the story. My favourite scenes were the ones that featured brief bursts of humour, like when Vyktor expected Aria to bathe with washing-up liquid. I liked that Eldor brought Vyktor home against his will too. Aria described it as a betrayal but I thought it was a poignant example of how valued Vyktor was in his 'world' and how much his comrades cared for him. Plus, it set up the romantic ending and allowed Vyk and Aria to have their HEA.
This was a really enjoyable quick read! Aria is captured by Vyktor, a dragon from another realm, and he was attempting by to prove that humans aren’t bad and can be tamed as pets and the dragons don’t need to kill all of them. Vyktor was her Master but he was very sweet to Aria and took good care of her, enough that their bond grew into love. The plot was there and decent; I wish more would have come from Vyktor’s co-General’s dislike of Aria and I wish the lead up to ‘I love yous’ was a bit more concrete and more time had been spent after they had been attacked and in hiding. But it was a great book and held my attention the whole time!
I don't have a problem with books of this nature nor a Dom/sub dynamic. I can see a relationship of this type developing between the characters, I just don't believe that the heroine would have been this quick to have given up a mental resistance to her capture when her hatred is as strong as it is in the beginning. Women and men can be turned on against their will because it is a physical response to physical stimulation and she might have been overwhelmed by this the first time but, her giving in to it repeatedly so easily in the beginning seems off to me. I also thought she would have brought up using sexual activity on a captive is not very civilized. The dragons might not believe in that creed but it is well worth having the argument and I don't see how the heroine wouldn't have strong thoughts about it. The heroine isn't weak and she changes her attitude towards the invasion, a bit, when she learns the facts behind the invasions and particularly after earth violates a peace treaty. Based on that and other aspects of their interactions makes a relationship believable as it eventually develops. I'm not sure if I read this first if I would have read others in the series but I'm glad I did.
THIS ONE IS MY FAVOURITE IN THIS DRAGON SERIES. IT WAS THE START OF IT ALL WITH A BALLSY HEROINE AND A COMMANDING HERO.
HERO is quite high up on the military hierarchy despite being young compared to his elders and he's determined to put an end to the war between his kind and humans. Humans believed it was dragons who started the war but it was by accident that a human found his way to the dragon realm and ripped the portal open. So, now dragons are on Earth and humans are terrorised by them. When Vyktor rescues the female pilot who was intent on gunning him down, he makes her a sexual pet and during their time together gets to learn more about humans in general. He's also sweet and just too cute when he dominates Aria and NOT in the suffocating, jerkish way. He gave her enough leeway to prove that he does love her.
HEROINE is an accomplished pilot who nearly crashes to death when her plane malfunctions. What could be worse? Being captured and enslaved by the enemy itself, but those talented fingers and spankings just heat up her blood and there's more to Vyktor than just a beast.
OVERALL sometimes erotica just seem REPETITIVE in their plots or character personas but Loki Renard manages to make each one fresh although still sticking to the whole pet/master troupe.
I can't believe how underrated this book is! I've read worse books with more and better ratings than this little gem. But maybe it's a matter of taste--quality descriptions and some element of love are important to me when reading erotica and Ms Renard definitely shines here in my eyes!
Ms Renard has a way with words that makes the characters' chemistry come to life. I so love the D/s scenes which were sizzling hot. The tender romance that followed was also a huge bonus I was not expecting. The heroine definitely does give in a little fast and the dragon fell for her equally as quickly but it was exactly what I wanted :) The two aren't above joking with each other either, which made for some very amusing and adorable moments on top of the steamy ones.
A very delightful, feel-good read. I love the couple and the book to bits!
Did not care for this book. Too much of a lot of things I do not like in the first place. Like supposedly intelligent female but emotional so they get themselves in trouble and the dom male who is always so perfect. The heroine gets captured by the dragon. At first she is defiant but as soon as they have sex she starts to change her mind. The dragon is just about perfect and so much superior to her. Some of the sex scenes were overlong for my taste. After a month or so together she can not do without him. They go through a rough spell when they try to get peace between dragons and humans and are betrayed but eventually they get their happy ending.
I really liked the book. It was more of a romance than erotica which was nice. Once General Vykotor and Aria got over the Master Slave the respect for each other grew into love. There was a lot of action with a happy ending. What more could you want. Well, I must admit, I wished the leaders on earth would have suffered a little for being so dishonest but then that's politics! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes dragon shifters.
After reading this book, I read the reviews. Although they are mixed, I have to say, this is a terrific story line with dimensional characters. The D/s relationship between a dragon named Vyktor and his human captive/pet Aria was seamlessly played out in the training and throughout the book. Perhaps with a portal being opened and a war taking place, these small things were missed in other reviews. This was well worth the time to read and recommend.
This read was just an ok read for me. I’m not entirely sure why, but I just couldn’t really get into this one. A bit wordy for my tastes, although it was written well. I just couldn’t feel the connection between Aria and Vykter. I know the pages said they found love, but I didn’t see it. Sorry, definitely won’t be getting the second.
Great read. I really liked the world building and how humans and dragons were portrayed. Vyktor and Aria were fab together and I was very pleased with how their story and relationship went. Brilliant ending too.
I really enjoyed this book. I immediately bought the second nook. I highly recommendation this book to anyone who loves sexy dominant dragons and sassy, smart and brave women.
This book was a surprise Not at all what I expected .but a good read. Two different people finding bcc each other The sex was great we would all like to have a Dragon for a lover.Love conquers all Mimi
I should have read where it said there were elements of BDSM. I didn't understand why it had to be present. I didn't enjoy it, but if you like that, then this will be enjoyable for you.
This book is amazing. I absolutely love the storyline, the detail and the characters personalities. Aria is strongwilled and I love how she clashes with Vyktor. Really really enjoyed it and can't recommend it enough. I'm off to read more in this Dragon Brides series.
I might have given this book more stars but to be honest I didn't finish it. It just seemed like too much sex and too little story so I skipped to the end. My apologies to the author - and the dragons. Don't want to upset them.
I enjoyed reading this spicy captivating fantasy romance story. I love how she intertwined a hot men and dragons together. I like how she incorporated the dragon's view of humans. This story has a satisfying and complete HEA!
Enter the world of Renard books and you will Happy you did. Book after book capture her readers attention and hold it to the last page no matter where she takes you in her worlds. Amazing wishing you continue success DH from New York City 4/23/2019
I I like Renard's stories. Although sometimes it was tedious with the dragon thinking that he was superior to humans. But the little story had some great fantasy moments.
I love reading about the portal between the earth and dragon world and if the dragons might be compatible with earth humans. And this author builds a very good story around both worlds. I stayed involved and could not put it down.
In some ways this is a typical Reward story - discussions of societal issues, strong versus weak, etc. But in some ways it isn't. At its depths, this story is just a good ole fashioned love story. No weird plot twists.
