My son liked it. Simple read with many life lessons. I, as a divorced parent, didn't like the ending. I felt like it gives kids of divorce unrealistic expectations but that may just be me being cynical.

The Lost Deer Camp is a very good book. What happens is Tucker goes to his Uncle's Ed cabin in Upper Pennsylvania which is called U.P. He moved to the U.P. because he was messing around in school a lot because of his parents divorce. His parents divorce caused him to be sad a lot and mess around a bunch at school. He gets to go out in the wild hunting with his Uncle Ed. When he shoots a deer and gets lost in the west woods tracking it. He found that his Uncle was hiding a deer camp in the west woods where he got lost. The deer camp ended years ago because Uncle Ed and one of his friends were fighting about a deer. So Tucker got all the guys besides Preacher to come back for one year and have a good time and go hunting. During this whole story Tucker is reading a book about deer camp.
The author is a very good one because he does alot of things that I can feel. He makes the book feel like the reader is the narrator. It is very very easy to understand so that is what I think makes it a good book. When you can understand it with your mind and imagination.
You should read this book because it is easy to understand. It is an interesting book to understand though. I had to think about it and there are so many other things in the book that you would want to read about. The cool thing about this book is it's in a series of books. So you can read a lot more books by Lane Walker. I encourage you to read this book. I would give it a 10/10.

I give the Lost Deer Camp 4 stars because The Lost Deer Camp is a powerful, heart-warming story of a troubled boy whose life is changed by the healing power of nature and family. I enjoyed Lost Deer Camp for its adventurous and mysterious plot. I enjoyed that this book was about hunting because I also like to hunt. In the book the boy, Tucker Thompson, had to go live with his grandfather. His grandfather was a big hunter and wanted to teach Tucker how to hunt. Tucker ended up enjoying his time hunting with his grandfather. I think this book is for ages 9 to 15 but I think that any age would like this book for its plot twists and its exciting experience and adventure. Kids that like the outdoors and adventures would like reading this book.

As a hunter myself I felt that this book was very intriguing and engaging and kept me turning pages. If you enjoyed this book I really recommend the other books in this series, and if you enjoy all outdoor activities like I do I also recommend the fishing books written by the same author.

The book I read was the lost deer camp by Lane Walker. This story takes place in present times and the main characters name is Tucker. Tucker loves playing baseball and is a very good pitcher. But one day when Tucker finds out his parents are getting divorced. He didn't take that very well. Tucker was very mad at his dad for giving up on the marriage. He quit playing baseball and then started getting in a lot of trouble. He had to move to a new school because of the divorce. At his new school he got in trouble a lot. One day him and another kid took jars and filled them with food making it smell really bad. Then at lunch right before the homecoming football game him and the other kid opened them up and got the bad smelling food all over the lunch room. Everyone started throwing up and the football players got puke all over their jerseys. Because of this Tucker was kicked out of school and his parents made him go live with his uncle Ed and aunt. At their house he behaved. He got fed really good meals and worked cutting wood with his uncle. Then his uncle took him hunting and he shot a nice deer. But his uncle always kept him from the west woods. Then Tucker found out what was in the west woulds. His uncle found him in the deer camp that he had been hiding. No one had come to the camp for years. But then Tucker and his uncle got everyone to come back for one last hunt. Then Tuckers parents decided to get back to Tucker and Tucker moved back home.
