The Shifter’s Secret Baby

Rate this book
A curvy gal with a secret love child PLUS an impossibly hot werewolf Alpha PLUS a vampire coven getting ready to flash some fangs…

Eric Civery is scorching hot, filthy rich and the powerful Alpha of a werewolf pack. His gobs of money and killer abs can get him anyone he wants. But he isn’t interested. He gave his heart away a long time ago.

Kayla thought that she would never see Eric again. Three years after their passionate affair, all she has from him are memories… and a little daughter he doesn’t know about.

But the past comes rushing back when Eric and Kayla meet again. She knows she has to forget about him—it will only end up being a big mess. But why on Earth does the guy have to be so freaking hot?

And as the same intense passion that was Eric and Kayla’s undoing years earlier reaches a boiling point, a vampire coven threatens to attack Eric’s pack.

Eric has to ask himself one Can he keep his mate and child alive? Is he prepared to risk everything for them?

This is a stand-alone paranormal action romance in a series of shifter stories. It has a HEA, so no cliff-hangers! This is a HOT story with mature themes and language. For 18+ readers only.

Eric and Kayla.......

This is a very short, sweet story. Eric is a billionaire alpha wolf shifter. Kayla is a curvy human with insecurities that caused her to run from a future she could have had with Eric. Three years prior to the beginning of this book, they were together for a brief love affair. Eric expected Kayla to be with him forever. I'm going to be honest, I did not like Kayla. She made choices I didn't approve of and her character was overly self-depreciating.

Kayla let her insecurities and what others said about her convince her she was not good enough for Eric, who was an alpha. So she ran. After she found out she was pregnant, she still stayed away. It's a matter of preference for me that I do not like a heroine that keeps her pregnancy hidden; doesn't give a chance for her baby to know his/her father. That premise just rubs me the wrong way.

Three years after they were together, Eric and Kayla meet by chance. To say, she is both shocked and dismayed and even a little hopeful, is an understatement. Naturally, Eric was shocked as well. He is upset at Kayla for leaving him the way she did and even more so when he finds out he has a daughter.

Luckily, the angst between them is resolved quickly and a new threat arises in the form of disgruntled vampires. There was some light violence and suspense to give the story a bit of excitement.

Eric's brother is a secondary character that I just adored. He was sweet and funny and very protective. When we first met him, I had hopes he might get his own story. However due to circumstances happening, I'm not sure that will happen. Oh well.

So overall, I enjoyed this book. The reason I didn't rate it higher was due to lack of character development and a lot of typos. Would I read more from this author? Yes, definitely. The writing flowed well and the pace was steady. I do believe that the reason for lack of development may have been due to the fact that this book was only 63 pages.

Kayla and Eric had an affair and Eric wanted to make it permanent; but Kayla let her feelings of inadequacy take over and she ran from him. She had his child, but did not tell him. Three years later they meet again and now Kayla tells Eric about his daughter Mikayla. They begin to form a new relationship, but then there is trouble with a vampire coven who are living in old grain elevators on the land owned by Eric's wolf pack.
The vampire leader tells his coven that Eric is trying to kill them all and the vampires believe him. So when Eric tries to help them, they reject him. Then the vampire leader kidnaps Donna, Kayla's best friend and Mikayla because he mistakenly thinks that Donna is Eric's mate. Kayla drives to the vampire's area and there sees that the vampire leader has turned Donna into a vampire who wants to kill Kayla. Eric arrives and rescues Kayla and Mikayla and kills the vampire leader.
But Donna needs help and cannot be near Kayla at the moment, so Quinn (Eric's brother) takes Donna away. Then Eric tells Kayla that he wants more children and Kayla tells him that he will be a father again in 8 months.
I was disappointed in Kayla's character at first as she came across as rather whimpy, but she finally pulled up her Big Girl Panties; faced up to life and grew in character. I hope that the author is going to write another book about Quinn and Donna.
I received an Advanced copy of this book and am freely and voluntarily writing this review.

I was expecting more out of the story than was there. Characters were way too accepting of things. Made the book boring. I mean really she kept their child from him. He should have been seriously pissed. I mean he was but it was briefly. I just think their reactions to things should have been different. Made it seem unlikely. The whole vampire thing was odd. I guess everyone tells stories differently and this isnt my preference. Between the 2 main characters Eric and Kayla was weird and I honestly dont think they mesh well. She named her daughter after herself without naming her after her a little tacky but ok. Made me seriously wonder the intelligence of all these characters. Then her assistant miraculously is the mate to his brother? Didnt feel complete to me. When the heck did they even spend more than 5 minutes in the same room? That wasnt explained either.

Eric, alpha of his wolf pack and Kayla a human met and fell in love three years ago. Parting ways was what Kayla had to do. She wasn't a wolf and she would never be good enough for Eric. Three years later and Kayla has a three year old that happens to be a wolf and she has not told Eric, who just walked into her office. Really like this book. and some really unexpected surprises really made the book easy to read and hard to stop. Vampires are causing problems and now Kayla, her friend and daughter are in trouble. Eric needs to do something to save his family. A nice HEA and a surprise.

This is Eric and Kayla's story . Due to Eric wanting to improve relations with the humans he decides to hire Donna's company for PR . But at the time he does not know that Kayla works there and is co-owner . Once they meet again emotions boil and let me tell you that I could feel the heat from these two !! Secrets come out on their second meeting . I want to say more but this is a short story and I do not want to give everything away !! Well written and recommend !

I received an ARC copy of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it. This one is a bit different from the usual paranormal romance. It is a wonderful book. I do encourage everyone to give this book a chance, I truly believe you will love it. The characters have flaws and this makes them seem real and this is another reason I liked this book. I love to read books that are a little different and this one fits the bill. This one is worth your time and effort.

Come on Kayla how could you so this to him? Even after breaking up when you discovered you were pregnant with his baby you could have told him.
But guess fate is stepping in now, bringing him back in your life.
Thing is things are not easy any more, he is the alpha and there are some evil and scared vampires playing up.

Will true love win? And will he forgive you? will they finally find love together?
At least the moments together are really really hot. pfff.

It was an interesting story, spiced with some family drama and romance.
Elena and Everett are both easy to fall for characters, and Marguerite is the strong heroine I like to read about. The story is fast paced and easy to follow, a good read if you want something light.

I received the book as an ARC for an honest review.

1.5 stars. H is alpha, wants to build a community garden, hires h's marketing company to advertise his plans. The h was a previous lover who did not tell him she had a baby or that she left him because of doubts. didn't like either lead characters but I did like the interesting range of vampires. Seems suited to teen audience.

It's all about Trust

Kayla and Eric's story is all about trust, trust between individuals, trust between communities, trust between different groups within a community, and the importance of communication and forgiveness, with a dash of being willing to not only forgive but move forward thrown in as well.

It’s a nice story, lovely romance and wonderful suspense. Unfortunately it’s one of those stuffed books. I do not like when authors do this and consider yourself warned.

Wow, Smoldering Hottness

I loved the story The Shifters Secret Baby, but the other stories were a extra addition to the Hottness. I enjoyed every single story in this book . Definitely worth my money. I just found this writer and now I am a big fan of her work.

This was a great short book! I am always amazed how each author can create awesome shifter stories that are so different. T.S. Ryder has written another great book for us all to read. This is the third book I have read by this author and am not disappointed! Secret child, lost love reunited, Alpha werewolf, vampires, friendships. It's all there! Don't miss out on this story. T.S. Ryder could even make a series out of these characters easily and I sure hope to see that happen because I would gladly purchase the books and enjoy the stories!

It was good, it had some harrowing moments with vampires, but was a little predictable in the "secret baby" portion, i wish the author had drawn out the "secret" part a bit more , other than that the love story and the vampire intrigue was good . 3.5⭐'s I received a gifted copy and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.
