“Lass," Rory sighed. “Ye challenge me to be honorable, while ye tempt me to be dishonorable.”
Rory Patterson is a ghost haunted by his past, and he’s in no hurry to leave the moor. Since The 79 are the only real family he’s known, he’s pledged his loyalty to them. But the wee witch has a different plan and gives him two days of mortality in which to complete a quest.
When pretty Lilly Carver asks for those days to help her claim her ancestral land, where will Rory’s loyalty lie? Who will protect Lilly from those who wish to sever her Scottish roots, and who will protect Rory from the demons of his past? Two days. Two quests. Who will finally make it home?
Jo Jones lives in the red-rock area of southern Utah. Her roots go deep into the red soil of cattle country, tended by four generations of ranchers.
She also keeps a tight hold on the ancestral string of her Scottish heritage and keeps a piece of her heart in the Highlands.
With a lifetime love for reading, and writing, she has a soft spot for richly detailed historical novels with characters who draw their strength and purpose from the land and their environment. And of course, each other.
Another nice romance and after conflict resolved, a satisfying end
Enjoyed this story Lilly was a bit of a whiner. But Rory made up for her weakness with his strength defending her in the crisis, falling reluctantly in love with Lilly, even though he could not in his mind offer her a future.
Rorie's story is so romantic it brought to life the tales of the rest Highlanders. Love has its own best and Destiny and Rorie found his also-in the foothills where his ancestral home resided
I have enjoyed each and every book in the series. I finish 1 and can’t wait to dive into another. They have all been such good stories. Kinda along the same lines but all so different. Everyone loves love stories. On to the next one...
This is my third favorite of the series! Excellent story and the characters made you feel what they felt. I love a story with action and adventure, that can make you laugh, cry, and laugh again.
He led some people in war saved two before dying himself. She finds him on the Culloden Moor fresh from the grave back to life. He has two days to help her before he gets his final reward and rests.
I enjoyed the story as I have others in " The ghosts of Cullodon, " I just wish the writer had put in a bit more research into the land laws of Scotland. There are no laws of trespass in Scotland you can not be arrested , there is the right to roam anywhere as long as you follow the country code even private property. A person may own the land but are seen as caretaker they can not prevent the people of Scotland from enjoying their own Country.
