Come As You Are

I couldn’t have scripted a more perfect night.

For one fantastic evening, at a masquerade party in the heart of Manhattan, I’m not the millionaire everyone wants a piece of. Fine—multimillionaire. But who’s counting all those commas? Not me, and not the most intriguing woman I've ever met, who happens to like dancing, witty banter, and hot, passionate up-against-the-wall sex as much as I do.

There's no need for names or business cards. And that’s why I’m eager to get to know her more, since my mystery woman seems to like me for me, rather than for my huge…bank account.

Everything’s coming up aces. Until the next day when things get a little complicated. (Newsflash — a lot complicated.)

***

He's charming, brilliant, an incredible lover, and right now I want to stab fate in the eyeballs.

I've had one goal I've been working toward, and lo and behold, my mystery man is the very person who stands between me and my dream job. A job I desperately need since my hard-knock life has nothing in common with his star-kissed one.

But it’s time to put that fairytale night behind me, and focus on learning what makes him tick. Too bad it turns out his quirks are my quirks, and his love affair with New York matches mine.

And as we spend our days together, I discover something else that feels like a cruel twist of fate — I’m falling for this naughty prince charming, and that’s not an ending I can write to our story.

I absolutely DEVOURED this book! It was the perfect amount of sweet and sexy, with a pinch of taboo for good measure. No one writes sexy romantic comedies like Lauren Blakely! Come As You Are will have you laughing, swooning, and grinning like a fool!

description

It's rare when I like both the hero and heroine equally. Usually one will stand out more than the other, but this time around, Flynn and Sabrina were the perfect pair. Flynn is one of the most adorkably sexy heroes ever and Sabrina was fantastically quirky. Both were intelligent, loyal, loving, and driven individuals. They both have some romantic baggage in their pasts, but it's clear from the moment these two meet that they just fit.

description

The connection between them was jumping off the pages and I could not get enough of their sexy banter and adorable nerd speak. Yes, their meet cute wasn't exactly conventional and showcased their chemistry more anything (scorching hot by the way!), but it's the time afterwards that really exemplifies their incredible connection. Their amazing and off the beaten path adventures around New York City allows their relationship to organically grow and flourish. The build-up between these two was so delicious and was the perfect amount of will they/won't they. I also appreciated that there was no unnecessary angst or other man/woman drama, but rather just our two characters navigating this path together.

I absolutely loved this one and my heart was so full as I turned the last page. Come As You Are is my new Lauren Blakely favorite!

COME AS YOU ARE was a sweet and sexy standalone by Lauren Blakely. It’s not often that we get introduced to a CEO who is both alpha and beta at the same time. That’s how Flynn a.k.a Duke came across, to me at least. He’s a tough as nails businessman at the top of his game but has a soft inner strength and the sweetest of hearts. He’s also a charming, sexy and rich NERD!!! He’s THE tech guy of his world who loves math, and books, and well… read and find out what exactly it is about this beautiful man that gets Sabrina going.
Everyone wants a piece of the new ‘god’ whether it’s his Midas touch, his money or his body. He knows they all wants something.
Everyone, except Sabrina. She doesn’t even know who he is when they first meet, and he likes that.
Flynn is rolling out a new tech device and has his hands full with all of that entails, but when Sabrina comes into his life, she’s like a breath of fresh air. He meets her at a masquerade party, no one gets his costume until Sabrina comes along. She’s gone to the party to cheer herself up after months in the doldrums and having just lost her job. Sabrina’s costume catches Flynn eye as well as her sexy as sin body, but it’s her mind that really gets him reved up.
Sabrina is at a bad place in her life. She’s kinda lost and lonely, having been recently jilted and then lost her job, but she’s kept her sassy sense of humor and her quirky nature but her heart has been pummeled and now she hides it behind an icy wall.
So, she decides to cheer herself up and go to the masquerade party her friend Courtney asked her to accompany her to, not thinking for one second she’d meet her Prince Charming there. She enjoys making her own clothes, the costume she wears to the party was made by her own fair hands and she loves that Flynn guessed what she was dressed as. She figures his out quite quickly too, unlike everyone one else. Their attraction soon ramped up even though their faces were mostly hidden by their asks and it wasn’t long before one of Sabrina’s fantasies was being reenacted in the library. That was soo hot. They planned to meet again next day to continue but without their disguises.
Before Sabrina gets to sees Duke again, she finally gets offered a job to write about a new tech, being brought to the market by none other than… you guessed it. Flynn Parker.
Yes, that Flynn.
They hadn’t exchanged names at the party, just gone by the nicknames they gave each other, so when they met at the place where Angel and Duke were meant to find each other, it comes as a shock.
So, now she’s faced with a moral dilemma.
Work or love.
She can’t have both… or can she.

A Review of Come As You Are by Lauren Blakely

Sabrina and Flynn - 5+++++ Stars

Oh how I wish I could give this story a million stars!!! I love every book that Ms. Blakely puts out, but I think this may well be my all time favorite book ever by her. For a contemporay storyline, I thoroughly enjoyed the way these two characters met since Sabrina had a great love of Historical romances, just like I do. I loved the Duke, the Angel, the mystery and the hot, steamy love scenes can't be beat. Both of them have been hurt by others and don't trust easily, but the instant connection that sparks between them is undeniable. The poetry reading, the hidden treasures they search for and find in different parts of New York City just make me itch to travel there and find these wonderful places for myself. I also loved seeing characters that we've met from previous books and the chance to learn how things are going for them. You will want to pick this up as soon as you can, so you don't miss it. It is definitely one to watch for and keep!

Masquerade balls, fake money, angel wings, and one start button later...

Flynn is a man who has it all. He has a great job, great friends, great family, but he is missing that great gal to go along with all that.
Sabrina doesn't have it all. In fact she has had a tough go at life thus far. She is bright, and witty, and just the thing Flynn is looking for.
Flynn is thoughtful, charming, and a hot nerd who happens to be sexy as sin. He takes one look at Sabrina and I think he is a goner! These two play off each other from the get go. They word volley back and fourth all night till those words end with unintelligent moans.
I mean who can resist hot-up-against-the wall sex...NO ONE!!!!
Also any man who has a key to Gramercy Park is totally it...in my book...amazing!
I should probably mention that Flynn is a master dirty talker. Like black belt level. Sighhhh he should totally come up with an app for dirty talkers...

Review & Excerpt at Of Pens and Pages.

It's better because we're Angel and Duke, city explorers, wordsmith and mathematician, poetry reciter and poetry receiver, and most of all, we are us."

Come As You Are is a perfect blend of sweet and sexy, with Ms. Blakely's signature humor and tension build-up that I adore. It's whimsical and romantic, but has its fair share of angst and longing. There's the frustration of having strong feelings for a person they spend a lot of time with, but can't act on those feelings because of multiple factors. But there's also that wonderful connection and ease in each other's company. There's laughter, comfort, and incendiary tension.

Jilted and recently unemployed, journalist Sabrina Granger refuses to let those things bring her down. She has a brother to support and a passion for her career to fuel her, so she remains relentless in looking for a new job. When her best friend invites her to a work event—a masquerade, her favorite!—Sabrina decides to go. She can finally put her wedding dress to use, and she can use the evening to network. Two birds, one stone wrapped in a mask.

Flynn Parker knows the downside of being a rich tech genius—he doesn't know if people like and approach him for genuine or nefarious reasons. He's received more pitches than he can count, and propositions from women who only want him for his money. When he meets an Angel at the masquerade and enjoys her company and similar sense of humor, he takes this chance to stay anonymous yet find a genuine connection with the intriguing woman.

One night of wonderful conversation and sex, and they know they have to meet each other again. But when masks are off, Flynn and Sabrina discover that just because they have a great connection doesn't mean they can act on it. Sabrina is hired by a publication company to write an article on Flynn and his company, which makes him off-limits.

Like two mature adults, they agree to keep things professional and go on with the interviews. But as Sabrina and Flynn make progress with the article, they're liking each other more and more. It's hard to stay away when you know the one you're looking for is right in front of you.

Since reading Stud Finder, I wanted to read about Dylan's twin. Now that I've met him, Flynn has exceeded all of my expectations! I adore him. A hot nerd with a filthy mouth, a great sense of humor, and a wonderful personality? Yes, please.

And Sabrina is just as great! She's dedicated to her career and her responsibilities to her brother. She's funny, creative, and strong. She raised Kevin on her own, and despite their past, she and her brother remained wonderful people with a strong moral compass.

This book made me love Flynn and Sabrina, and made me fall in love with New York City even more. Here we have two lovable characters with amazing banter (seriously!), undeniable chemistry, and passions that drive them to do what they're doing. Whenever I read a book, there's always a character I love more than the other, but in Come As You Are, I loved Flynn and Sabrina equally.

It's so sweet to see two people under a disguise find a strong, genuine connection that goes beyond one night. I love their non-date dates all over New York! Honestly, every interaction they had made me grin and swoon. There's that instant spark between them, but it doesn't feel like insta-love at all. Their chemistry gradually grows into so much more, and I was so happy with the pace of their romance.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with a Lauren Blakely book. There are charming characters, great banter, even greater sex, and a If you love masquerades, tech-y humor, puns, and New York, you're going to love Come As You Are!

Flynn is probably one of the most intriguing character that I have read in Lauren Blakely books. I loved everything about him, even his “paranoia” that everyone who shows intrest in him is due to his bank account. And Sabrina? She’s a woman after my own heart. I think I wouldn’t mind being compare to her; smart mouth, quick wits and all around beautiful soul.

“We have lots of favorite places to find. Always is a long long time.””I like always with you.”” You should. You want to know why?”My fiancé asks as a bird chirps overhead. He squeezes my finger and admires my ring. I admire it too. When I look at it, I see hope, and a future, and love. This certainty was worth every risk. ”Why?” “Because always means we live happily ever after”

This story was one of the best by Lauren Blakely. OMG these two made my heart sing – every single thing about this story was PERFECT. The chemistry, funny banter, their non-dates, their personalities it was all just right. I can't wait for the next story by Lauren Blakely!

Come As You Are grabbed my attention right from the start! Sabrina and Flynn meet at a masquerade ball and this book twists into a modern day Cinderella story! He is the multimillionaire just trying to be himself and she has been trying to make ends meet after being burned by love. It is her night to escape life and have fun. Their chemistry is immediate and their first encounter ends up being hot, sexy and steamy and just like Cinderella, she leaves. No names are exchanged and they are both left with unforgettable memories.
So at a chance encounter, when the masks are no longer able to hide the reality of their true identities, can they still have their fairytale ending?
The best added bonus to this book was enjoying some of New York Cities greatest treasures through the eyes of Sabrina and Flynn.

This is why I am a Lauren Blakely fan!!!! I knew I would fall for Flynn from the get go. Sabrina got under my skin. These two characters were Ah-Mazing!!! The storyline had me glued to this book. The way these two were lust at first sight had me sighing along the way. Their idea of putting on the brakes in their relationship was pointless lol. I knew these two would not be able to stay away.

Flynn makes me swoon with all his nerdy self and dirty talk. I think he made me blush a few times. Sabrina was his match to the T. Come As You Are is perfectly written! I could not recommend this book enough <3

➦Sometimes short, sweet and sexy is just what the doctor ordered :) And whenever I'm in need of that I always turn to Lauren Blakely's books!

➦This books starts out hella hot at a masquerade ball where our mcs meet. They have instant chemistry and the night gets

➦But, as the blurb states, things get a bit complicated the next day. I can't give you more but if you're intrigued then pick it up. It's definitely a story with fairy tale-like ending and, while these characters probably won't live in my mind for a very long time, I appreciated quality entertainment if provided for a couple of hours! :p

This story was perfect for me. The beginning starts out fast and super sexy. The middle is entertaining and intellectually pleasing, not to mention romantic as hell. The end is one of the sweetest ever! From cover to cover, Flynn and Sabrina charmed me.

I can always count on Lauren Blakely to deliver a fun and romantic read that will make me smile. That's exactly what Come As You Are does. I fell for these characters immediately. The story is the embodiment of what it feels like to have an undeniable chemical response to another.

It's a super quick start, so fans of that will be pleased. I certainly was.
The highlight for me is Flynn. He's the perfect man. He's a sexy, smart, nerd who also cares deeply for others. PERFECT! The story focuses somewhat on his inability to find someone because of his success. I can't relate to what that would feel like in real life, but this story is completely believable. You get a real sense of who both characters are pretty quickly and want to root for them immediately.

The plot, pace, and characters are all fabulous! I loved it! Highly recommended.

Sweet, safe and nice read.
Likable characters. He was a decent guy, she was a tough girl.
What I liked the most - they didn't include 'standard' drama/twist aka misunderstanding & keeping the secret. MCs spoke with each other, they communicated - hallelujah!
I wished for more relationship development, ILY came very sudden (for me).

The 2nd book by this author with NOT a manho hero. I hope it's her new pattern!

This is how it is done, guys! If you don’t know who Lauren Blakely is by now, well.. you are missing out because this woman knows how to write one hell of a love story! Are you in the mood for something light, sexy and funny? You like swoony, hot AF nerdy multimillionaires? You ready to love another sassy and strong as hell heroine? You ready for some mystery, sexy masquerade party rendezvous and lots of laughter and romance? If your answer is yes on all those questions, you don’t have to search anymore your next read because Come as You Are will deliver all those amazing things!

So, Come as You Are is Lauren’s newest standalone release (LIVE TODAY!) and as I said it starts with two people who are not looking for a relationship at the moment, two strangers from very different worlds that collide in a sexy and unforgettable evening in a masquerade party. Imagine their surprise when they discover their identities and they have to start working on an interview together for two weeks. Yep, not mixing pleasure with business according to these two! But, the chemistry between Flynn and Sabrina is strong, the sexual tension is palpable and their beautiful connection cannot be stopped. Will they fight for what they feel? Find out reading Come as You Are!

“Once upon a time, there was a woman at a party who wanted to be kissed,” I say, walking to her, the pages open.
[...] “That sounds like a very scintillating tale.”

I seriously don’t know what magic powers Lauren Blakely has but she is one hell of a talented romance writer! She kills it every single time and always with something original and so well developed. This book was simply delightful: it was sweet, hot, light in drama and lots of fun! Flynn and Sabrina are such outstanding characters as individuals but together.. they will make you melt all over the place because they are sugary and adorably sweet. I loved their first night together (that instant spark!), the friendship they develop even though they are extremely attracted to one another and I loved how they grow into a fabulous couple that will burn your Kindle with their connection!

This is what it’s like to want someone with every fiber of your being. This desire for her, I feel it everywhere—inside me, along my skin, in my heart, in every goddamn cell in my body. It’s like a force of its own, obliterating everything else.

I am a massive fan of light romance. I always gravitate towards it. I do have my moments and enjoy a tear-jerker and highly emotional creations but I always come back to this type of romance. Lauren Blakely is, for me, one of the best authors in rom-com and no matter what she writes, I will read it and I am pretty sure I will also love it. Come as You Are checked all my romance expectations and I confess it's one of my favorites writtten by this author. I loved the couple, the theme and how the relationship was built. I loved the chemistry and, of course, the ending. This book has absolutely everything!

“With me, you always have an invitation to come as you are.”

Therefore, my rating for Come as You Are is 5 STARS because it was a beautiful, sweet and sexy love story that gave me all the good things I enjoy in Lauren Blakely's rom coms: two outstanding main characters, lots of laughter, sweet and swoony moments and lots of sexual tension and sexy times! Lauren never disappoints on any of that and she definitely did not fail with this novel. I loved Flynn and Sabrina so much that they have become one of my favorite couples by this author. And, as always, I can't wait to read what is next! Highly recommend this one!

Blakely has whipped up an irresistible romance as sexy and witty as the nerd protagonists she details in Come as You Are.

Before Flynn Parker and Sabrina Granger were formally introduced, they met at a masquerade party as angel investor and stealth start-up or Angel and Duke and under their freeing guises they danced, joked, talked, flirted and connected on a physical and emotional level. But their perfect fairytale night came to a screeching halt the next day when the masks came off and their real identities are revealed.

With the success he’s had, trust does not come easy but Flynn hasn’t hardened his heart even after a near disastrous relationship and really wanted to get to know his mystery woman who appeared to genuinely like him. A woman who’s writing a very important article on him and therefore off-limits.

Sabrina doesn’t just want her dream job, she needs it and getting involved with her subject is unethical. She still needs to interview him though and as traipse around Manhattan while getting to know each other one thing is abundantly clear, they’re each other’s person. Can the math nerd and the grammar nerd find a way around their predicament?

Blakely creates a captivating story full of delicious feels and a few unexpected twists all highlighted by a toe-curling romance. Witty, teasing, dirty banter will take you on a sweet and sexy journey where you’ll fall in love with Flynn and Sabrina just as they did with each other.

Even though they both have trust issues and come from vastly different backgrounds, there’s nothing as sexy as the meeting of minds. Flynn and Sabrina are smart, warm and wonderfully layered characters that find a vast amount of commonalities, and yes their chemistry snap, crackle, and pops off the pages.

Come as You Are is a standalone contemporary romance by author Lauren Blakely. It is skillfully paced and expertly balanced with just the right amount of angst and addictive swoon worthy romance.

This book was just adorable!
A sexy millionaire nerd and a job-less journalist with a weirdly cute fashion sense!
They meet at a masquerade ball and it's mega insta lust/love/attraction.
And bam, the next day they find out that she has to interview him - a chance to get an amazing new job. So ... no relationship can ever happen, right?
But those 2 can't stop seeing each other and flirting and having the most adorable fun discovering amazing new sights in their beloved New York City.

I just adored those two and their friends and siblings and their love for NYC!
Everything was just so ... fresh and crispy and funny and sexy and light and feel-good!
Amazing rom-com with a little bit of drama in there somewhere - but definitely no stupid unnecessary drama stuff! I just loved this book! And the cover is really sexy and cute too!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️SOLID 4-STARS!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sweet as frickin' pie, with all the succulent sweet bits to make for a solid, entertaining, endearing, super sexy, stand-alone HEA!

come as you are blakely book

^^ Nerdy hot guy, steamy romance? ✓-CHECK!! ^^

PROS:
🔥 - more than anything it appeals to my love of a nerdy-hottie-male-antogonist that has serious sex appeal. A strong female knows nerds are great lovers, we are just to hard up to look past the anti-alpha traits to get that far *snark*. Yet in this fictional romance we get to finally allow the fantasy to play out in all its glory. . .yup a nerdy, handsome, rich alpha enjoying getting down and dirty

🔥 - the writing also appeals to my love of the English language as two nerds have a battle of the wits throughout. I won't spoil it but if you're a literary nerd, as I am, that alone should have you reading this one

🔥 - love corny jokes, read it

🔥 - love a man who licks his fingers after fingering his woman, read it

CONS :
☠️ - primarily there are only the 2 main characters developed in this novel which gives it a weak depth

☠️ - as an author, Miss Blakely is almost there. She's knocking on the doors of the big boys (or gals primarily) with this one. Looking forward to her evolving as an author and reading her future novels

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ BOTTOM LINE: need a sweet pick-me-up, stand-alone, HEA that appeals to your inner nerd with some serious steamy sex scenes??? FUCKING READ IT!💋🤓🔥

3 out of 5 stars! ⭐️ I quite enjoyed reading another book by Lauren Blakely although I have to say that the ‘Big Rock’ series was way better than this one. It was a standalone book and I feel like that books that are part of a series are always better than standalones.

So here is what the romantic novel was about: I couldn’t have scripted a more perfect night.

I felt like the story was really cute and the characters were great, but as I have said it time and time again, everything under 300 pages is just too short for this type of genre. It just stays pretty superficial and that really is a shame. The protagonists were just too shallow at times, but that was probably due to the fact that the author alternated between their two point of view and as the book was so short, I as the reader, was not able to connect with either one of them.

If you’re looking for a cute rich guy meets poor girl story then this one is quite good. I read it in a matter of hours and it was really entertaining! 😊✨ All I have left to say is: a masquerade ball, a duke, an angel, and one start button later...if you’re up for that - go & grab yourself a copy!

5 SMOOCHES!

For me, diving into a Lauren Blakely novel is unlike any other reading experience. Whether it’s one of her authentic feeling male point-of-view romcoms or one of her sexy, swoony contemporaries, there are a few things that always happen for me whenever I pick up one of her novels. I learn cool new things that I didn’t know before I started, her attention to detail never fails to impress me, and I fall helplessly in love along with the characters. I consistently get lost in her stories, wrapped up not only in the romances, but also in the worlds she builds. Her red-hot, heart-racing love affairs are engaging on their own, but she takes these stories to another whole level by layering fascinating tidbits of information, vividly depicted scenery and charismatic characters that all blend perfectly with the core love plot into a magical adventure for a romance reader.

Come as You Are takes a completely fresh approach to the workplace trope with a romance between a word-nerd reporter covering a subject in what she hopes will become her new beat and the hot-nerd, tech genius CEO focus of that story. Blakely further distinguishes this story by giving it a modern-day Cinderella spin and setting it in quintessentially romantic New York City. Instead of the typical coworker clash, she poses an ethical dilemma to this couple that turns what had been a very promising, fairytale worthy start into a bittersweet memory and an opportunity that, unfortunately, must be passed on. Chemistry is a powerful thing, though, and these two were so combustible, it was exploding off the page. But it wasn’t just physical attraction between them. Flynn and Sabrina were kindred spirits, connecting on so many different levels and fitting together in exceptional, once-in-a-blue-moon ways—not just against a wall in a library during a masquerade ball, although they fit rather well there, too.

Blakely delivers a steady stream of feels here, only they’re not the angst-fueled, gut-wrenching emotions romance readers are accustomed to experiencing. This author’s writing is more of a hopeful, feel-good style, with just enough conflict to challenge the couple, and that is a rare combination in this genre. It’s even more rare to pull that off as consistently as she does, and it’s what makes her stories addictively light-hearted, pleasure reads—a quality that is pure Lauren Blakely and speaks volumes about her approach to romantic storytelling. Make no mistake, though, I soared high with Sabrina and Flynn during their initial encounter and was staggered by the same disappointment they suffered the next day when realization dawned as a result of their identities. I felt their wistful longing for each other while they worked together during their frequent “not-date dates,” and I shared their genuine excitement over the mere promise of this relationship, something that they both tried desperately—and failed—to bury. I was right there with them, frustrated that something with so much personal potential was also fraught with such professional peril. I marveled right along with Flynn and Sabrina at each new discovery about the other person and their beloved city.

Speaking of discoveries, Come as You Are was filled to the brim with quirky and fun facts that added depth and originality to the story while also forming the foundation of this couple’s shared history. Events, landmarks, games, inside jokes—these are some of the things that give Blakely’s couples their own distinct identities and personalities. These little surprise details added so much charm to the fabric of Flynn and Sabrina’s story, and Blakely is a master at not only finding this intriguing material but also weaving it into her tales.

Come as You Are was enchanting and entertaining, and I was utterly charmed and thoroughly captivated by Flynn and Sabrina’s sweet, sexy romance. I positively devoured this book, happily swooning on my sofa the entire way through. Five smooches from me for Lauren Blakely’s Come as You Are!

4 stars!

refreshing read! this book is about Flynn, a sexy multimillionaire technology genius and Sabrina, a journalist. Flynn is not looking for a relationship since the girls he dated in the past were only interested in the number of commas in his bank account. and for Sabrina, her engagement was called off and her job was lost as well. that was when Sabrina took on a temporary journalist job in NYC.
the next thing we know, both are at a masquerade party. no names no faces, just some really hot and sizzling wall sex! 🔥🔥

however, it's not long before Sabrina finds out Flynn's true identity and also that he was the one she was tasked to write about. we see their struggle to keep things professional (not much angst!) but i really enjoyed reading about their interactions.
Flynn is like a cute and sexy poetry nerd and Sabrina is a sweet and hardworking woman who's capable of getting Flynn's joke every time.

it's a sweet and sexy read. not much of dirty talk here, but if you're into hot nerds, do try this one. 4 stars! 😉

3.5 Stars!

Love that's he's a hot tech nerd and she's a go-getter who can be seduced by word play because as a journalist she appreciates the written words.

There's some hot stuff in here. And I LOVE when there's intellectual seduction and this had lots of those. I enjoyed it. Not a much as I've enjoyed Wanderlust and Part Time Lover but still a cute read.

I felt the ending was a little rushed.
Their “actual” couple time wasn’t enough for me before heroine dished out ILY at least.
Hero’s I understood because we were privy to his thoughts and he was in fact in love already halfway through the book.
However, I liked the book.
No real triggers.
Hero did find one of the women he met at a conference hot, before meeting the heroine, but he didn’t make any moves at all. His inner monologue was rather funny to read.
He did have trust issues so he didn’t really date or hookup with random strangers either.
He did have a bit of snobbish issue with heroine’s financial state though. However he recovered well from that.
I personally have borderline OCD so I’d really have like a closure on heroine’s rat bastard ex.

It's witty, funny, romantic, mushy, sexy and fun. Not so much comedy but it's light hearted and addictive enough to keep you wanting more. You get to take the journey with the characters as they both grow in terms of self development, and the relationship. Makes me want to do what they've done in the book, looking for new sights ans treadutes, and hope to find my own witty, romantic and cute poetry nerd.

Flynn Parker is the new tech "it" man. He is a handsome, charming, rich math nerd who made good as an internet superstar and visionary. Everyone seems to want a piece of him. They want him to fund their projects, or women want him for money or what he can give them. So it is hard to trust people.

Sabrina Granger's life is not going so well. She was left at the alter, lost her job, and is struggling to figure out how to pay her bills. She is a funny, creative, quirky, but guarded and anxious. Her life is at a crossroads, and it looks like things might be finally shifting her way.

One night at a masquerade party they collide and share an exciting, passionate experience. They can be whoever they want without expectations or history and just let go. But they soon realize that real life is not like a fairy tale and the perfect night might have to be the end rather than a beginning.

I loved both of these characters. They were just so likable. Their rapport was flirty, dirty, and witty. They shared common interests and senses of humor. But they are also opposites in how they were raised and their life styles. And they both have trust issues. The situation they find themselves in makes a relationship forbidden. They both have responsibilities that make taking the risk difficult. They both have fears and insecurities. But it is so hard for them to resist the pull they have towards each other.

They were totally adorkable with him being a math geek/Renaissance man and her a grammar nerd. I loved their dynamic. Their chemistry was hot, but their connection ran even deeper. She's independent minded and does not like asking for help. He gets her need to take care of her own life, but has the ability to make things easier if she would just let him. Things could be perfect if....

But it seems to be one of those cases of right person, wrong time perhaps...or is it?

This was such a perfectly paced and engaging read that I could not put it down. There was just enough conflict, angst, and drama to keep it interesting, but not take away from the sweet romance. I was totally invested in Flynn and Sabrina. It was even more exciting to me because Flynn is a twin! Yes, there are two of these hot, rich, lovable nerd-men. We got to know his twin brother, Dylan and his love, Evie, and their sister, Olivia in the novella Stud Finder. But this can be read as a total stand-alone. I also really liked her younger brother, Kevin, and outgoing bestie, Courtney. I felt like I became part of their world while reading it.

This book brings together all of the things I adore about Lauren Blakely's books. It has the romantic element of exploring a city and interesting history while also being funny, emotional, sexy, and sweet. Flynn is a perfectly swoony-licious hero and Sabrina's tenacity and spirit make you want to root for her. I absolutely adored them!

Usually you'd find me here gushing about the newest #BlakelyBoy that I’ve fallen in love with, but today I'm all about the girl! Sabrina Granger is who I'd want to be, if I was just starting out in my adult life! She's a little bit quirky, incredibly devoted, strong, independent, and determined. I love the relationship she has with her brother, how committed she is to making sure he has everything he needs to realize his dream, even if it means putting herself second. Pretty sure she is my favorite of Ms. Blakely's heroines, she really is quite awesome.
Now, this is not to say that I wasn't totally head over heels for Flynn Parker, because I was. I really was. He's charming and adorable, extremely loyal (I want to be one of his employees), and always has time to listen, which I found totally endearing.

Together, Sabrina and Flynn are just delightful! From their very first meeting, to the “Another Epilogue”, Come As You Are is everything that is good and right when it comes to a Lauren Blakely romcom. It was sexy and sweet, and there was a playfulness between the characters that I just loved.

I adore how Ms. Blakely incorporates the locations into her stories and leaves me wanting to hop on a plane to visit all the unique places she mentions. And this book was no exception- I even found myself Googling some of them, to see if they really existed! It was fun to visit them alongside Sabrina and Flynn, it was such an entertaining way for them to get to know each other.

Come As You Are is sweet and sexy, with just the right amount of humor and heart. Ms. Blakely truly is the queen of the contemporary romcom. I don't know how she does it, but as long as she keeps writing characters and stories as enjoyable as this one, I'll keep coming back for more!
