Garfield from his prime years, when he was ubiquitous.

A kids' book modelled after the cartoon, where Garfield decides to become a big star by auditioning in a cat food commercial, and the funny things that happen.

Do kids even know Garfield anymore? If they do, this is for them.

This book will appeal more to a nostalgic 1980's audience or those who aren't put off by snarky or sarcastic humor that encapsulates Garfield's personality, including references of his lovable, devoted friend, Odie as a "dumb dog."

Also, true of the 80's, Jon reads a newspaper ad for open auditions. Believing Garfield could win him a trip around the world, Jon convinces Garfield a win would be worthwhile to him as well. Garfield strategically removes his competition, and is a sure bet to become a TV star. In the end, however, maybe even Garfield realizes what matters most.

Garfield eats so much at his Fussy Cat brand cat food commercial audition that he is unable to film the commercial.
