1. Mother Goose- Picture Book

2. This is a colorful collection of old mother goose rhymes.

3. a- The illustrations really make a difference in this book, however, I think it would appeal most to younger children. The colors, shapes, and text used were probably intended for ages 1-5.

b. This is a cute version of mother goose rhymes. The strong points are most definitely the illustrations, but I thought that was appropriate. The author took older nursery rhymes, and applied modern artwork and colors. The brightness, and simple shapes that are used, help young readers identify what takes place during the rhyme.

c- I wish I could upload a picture from the book...but one example is Bow Wow, said the Dog. The text is small to medium size in the left hand corner, and the illustration takes up the rest of the page. The colors are bright yellows, green, red, blues, and brown. The animals that are described in the rhyme, are illustrated up top, and they have word bubbles quoting exactly what they say in the rhyme.

4. I think parents and preschool teachers could use this book as a bedtime story. Kindergarten and first grade teachers might use it if they are reading mother goose stories, because the illustrations are wonderful. I think it could tie into any reading lesson that has to do with mother goose, or rhyming.

This book has multiple rhymes throughout the book and they all consist of different topics which helps the children figure out which one they like the most. Some strengths towards this story is that they text does rhyme in each poem and gets the students attention with the pictures and colors throughout the story. Each picture that is in the story also corresponds with the poem and shows children what the author is saying about that poem. If a teacher needs a rhyming book for their students, this is the book to get because it has the pictures to grab the students attention because of the colors and how they look drawn on by other students.

This book includes a great variety of nursery rhymes. Some of the nursery rhymes included in this book are Baa Baa Black Sheep, Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill and so many more. This book is unique because it has a CD to go along with it. I like the idea of the CD being included so that children can also listen to the CD while reading. By hearing an audio version and following along that will help children learn how to read. This book is appropriate for infants and preschool children. If I was teaching a preschool class I would have this book in the classroom along with a CD player with headphones so the children would be able to listen and read along.

I expected that having one long rhyme for each page would be too my for my baby's concentration, but I was pleasantly surprised when she listened to each one. I did need to take a couple of attempts to read it through, but when I finished, she wanted to start again!

covers 53 nursery rhymes both familiar and unfamiliar. Illustrations look like "children's art" illustrations. Very colorful. Text is a bit cramped.
