Ten years ago when Shane Maguire chose the Marines as his escape from some trouble of his own making, he only regretted one thing—leaving Sinclair Smith behind. Despite his best intentions, she ended up as the one that got away. Now he’s back, determined to reclaim everything he gave up, including Sinclair.

Sinclair is immune to Shane’s charms. She’s immune to stolen kisses behind the gym. And she’s definitely immune to that maneuver he did in the back seat of his car… Okay, maybe her hormones are susceptible, but she has absolutely no desire to risk anything on the bad boy who broke all his promises.

When a little emergency lands her at his mercy, he offers her a deal she can’t refuse. And this time, she’ll show Shane what it means to be left wanting…

Shane Maguire is back in town after ten long years away. Sinclair was the one that got away, the girl he’s never gotten over, but history is seen a little differently from Sinclair’s point of view. Shane’s appearance back in her home town shoots a mix of pain, and yearning through her body. He was gone and never looked back; Sinclair left to pick up the pieces. Now that he’s back and demanding to get reacquainted, Sinclair resolves to keep him at a distance, not risk her heart, because she’s not sure she could survive the heartbreak a second time. Shane’s definitely a sweet, sexy, Southern charmer, but she’s not the naïve girl she used to be.

If you love second chance romances then you’ll love this super hot, emotion filled story! Samanthe Beck’s writing made Shane and Sinclair’s lust, longing and hurt come off the pages, straight into my heart! Darn, that woman can write some hot stuff! I loved their playful banter, the high voltage sexual tension between them! No matter the barrier Sinclair tries to erect, Shane is the man to make her walls crumble. *sigh*

A total recommend!

Sigh...I think I am chalking this one up to being more of the mood I am in than the book. This failed to keep my interest from page one. I didn't really care for either of the main characters. It took WAY too long for the misunderstanding to be cleared up. I knew what the heroine's secret was going to be right from the start and SURPRISE I was right. It was the same cliché secret found in a bazillion other romance books.

There was nothing new to be found here and because of that I just never found myself engaged enough to care about these characters. But like I said, this is probably more a "ME" thing so don't let my review deter you!

I love a good second chance romance book. Shane and Sinclair had a relationship 10 years ago. They were each other's first loves and Shane was Sinclair's first. Then Shane left for the Marines and Sinclair never heard from him again, until he showed up in her small town for a job. Now, he realizes what he let get away from him and he wants Sinclair back.

Sinclair never got to tell Shane what happened to her the summer he left. He was supposed to call and get in contact with her the second he could, and never did. He had his reasons (kinda lame ones) and she has something big that happened to her that she needed him to know. Instead, she has been carrying it around for 10 years, hiding the details even from her parents.

Can time bring them back together or keep them apart?? They are no longer teenagers, but their feelings are the same as they were back then.

I liked this story. I did have an issue that she was 16 and he was 18 when they were dating. It seemed a little wrong, but who am I to judge true love???

What I Liked:

Samanthe Beck is one of my favorite Entangled Brazen authors - and adult romance authors in general. I haven't read a book of hers that I didn't enjoy, which is saying something! Some books have been better than others, but in general, her books work for me. I read the first book in this particular series (Emergency Engagement), but passed on the second book (Emergency Delivery). I almost passed on this one as well (for reasons I'll talk about!), but I'm glad I didn't. This book was a quick, enjoyable read.

Shane Maguire and Sinclair Smith grew up together in a small town, and when they were teenagers, they shared a powerful connection beyond physical attraction. But circumstances led to Shane joining the Marines and Sinclair staying behind. Ten years later, Shane is back, working as in risk management for emergency planning. It's been ten years but Shane's feelings for Sinclair haven't changed, and even though her left her, Sinclair's feelings haven't changed either. She can deny it all she wants, but their chemistry hasn't cooled and the pair have missed each other. But Sinclair might not be ready to give Shane a second chance, even if Shane is committed to staying with her.

One of the reasons why I almost passed on this book is because it's a second-chance romance, and I really don't enjoy second-chance romance novels. I hate all the drama and angst and hurt - someone is always hurt (usually both of them), and usually it's because of miscommunication. In this book's case, the second-chance aspect was not as dramatic and angst-ridden as I'd expected! Sure, there were painful, heartbreaking parts to Shane and Sinclair's mutual past, but the book was fairly low on drama.

Shane is such a good guy, and clearly very different than at eighteen. Years in the military straightened him out and made him a stronger, better person. For years, he sent Sinclair letters, trying to reach out, but she never responded. But Shane never stopped loving her, thinking about her, wanting her. Ten years later, Shane is persistent, protective, thoughtful, and a little naughty. He's a sweet guy who is incredibly patient with Sinclair.

Sinclair has ten years' worth of pain stored up, and she blames Shane. She lost faith in him when she never heard from him (his letters never reached her), and thought he didn't care about her anymore. Ten years later, she's still incredibly angry with him, and very hurt. Sinclair is a tough lady, but she has been through a lot, and she has walled herself off since Shane left to join the Marines. I didn't totally like her, but I understood her. Her hurt and pain were legitimate, even if she was a little unreasonable with all of that blame she directed at Shane.

As with every second-chance romance, there is a lot of communication between the pair about the past, and mistakes they made. I was happy to see both of them work things out slowly but surely. I was especially happy that Sinclair recognized that she was also in the wrong, and that not only did she have to forgive Shane, but he had to forgive her. The blame went both ways.

Shane and Sinclair have a lot of chemistry between them! Their passion for each other clearly never wore off, even with ten years of time and distance between them. Honestly, that's impressive and I love how the author brought about the chemistry and tension. I love how persistent and patient Shane was, because Sinclair was trying really hard not to budge with him. There are a few pretty hot scenes in this book (and some shorter semi-hot scenes). Beck always does a great job with the sexy times!

The climax involves a certain trope that I hate, but I did not mind it, in this book. It should have bothered me (like it did in a previous book in the series) but in this case, it seemed to work for the story. And the climax in general is relatively drama-free, and I like how Sinclair knows she is in the wrong, as does Shane.

In general, this was another Beck winner for me. Great characters, good character development, a good balance of emotional and physical growth between the characters' relationship, and a steamy romance, that did not disappoint. I also really liked the epilogue, which featured the three couples of this series (Beau and Savannah, Hunter and Madison, Shane and Sinclair). So much cute!

What I Did Not Like:

More steamy scenes would have been great (or maybe make the abbreviated scenes less brief). Also I mentioned that I didn't totally love Sinclair, though I understood her. I stand by that. She was a little too standoffish and sometimes mean, when it came to Shane. Poor guy! He didn't deserve all of the negativity and blame.

Would I Recommend It:

I can't speak for Emergency Delivery, but I'd recommend this entire series! This book isn't my new favorite or anything, but it's a great, satisfying novel. If you're looking for a quick, steamy, second-chance romance novel, this is one for you!

Rating:

4 stars. I'm hoping Beck will continue writing books in the Compromise Me series, because those books are awesome! The first book, Compromising Her Position, is one of my favorite Beck books. I recommend it!

A sweet fast paced second chance romance!!!! Samanthe Beck has always been an author that I adore. Her stories always seem to bring a smile to my face. While I enjoyed Emergency Attraction, it was not my favorite of the series since for some reason, I couldn’t relate to the heroine. She did not interest me as much as the hero did. I did however enjoy the banter and playfulness of the book. Overall, the storyline flowed at a decent rate and had that mixture of sweet and sexy.

A ten-year separation - due to circumstances that were truly out of their control - isn't that difficult to get over the moment a dance during a wedding reminds both Sinclair and Shane of the spark that had never died between them.

For Sinclair, apart from her memories of him, Shane isn't the bad boy in town who had no future to his name any longer; he's now a respected emergency manager with so much experience in doing what he does. And as impressive as it is to see what he had made of his life, it's how impulsively and wholly they loved each other back then that has her evaluating their relationship. Tragedy, however, has made her wary of every good thing that might come her way and Shane, from the onset, is determined to convinced her that fate will not outrun them this time.

There was a lot to savour about this book - the moment I got past my wariness about second-chances romance - not least of all, it's really about Samanthe Beck's fluid writing and her beautifully detailed descriptions of Sinclair's and Shane's personal battles to become the people they are today. Tangled up in their burgeoning relationship is also a zoning matter that threatens Sinclair's home and tests her trust in Shane, but there isn't mistaking the heat that can and still exist between them despite this difficulty. I also liked Shane's fast and furious all-in stance (a far cry from too many male protagonists in books these days) and how he'd never let up in his efforts to win her back, though it truly wasn't quite his fault when he left and never came back. In short, Beck not only makes the 10-year separation acceptable, but their coming back together a believable one. Once I breathed a sigh of relief at that, the story was all a-go for me.

The epilogue wraps up this series quite perfectly: men in a domesticated scene (and struggling with it), getting into trouble only just as the women return home to witness it. But Beck injects so many feels and so much poignant emotion into it that you can quite believe that these couples are truly living their HEA.

I'll be honest here and say I'm not exactly a fan of second chance romance. If it didn't work the first time, I need a good reason as to why it will work the second time. I like this author and have enjoyed several of her books, so I wanted to give this one a chance. I admit, her reasons for this couple separating and not getting back together until 10 years later, convinced me. Their reasons were valid and that's enough for me. It also helped that Shane pursued Sinclair relentlessly when he came back. I'm a fan of that. I much prefer the man to pursue the woman and Shane didn't disappoint. I'm also a fan of the heroine's this author creates. They are strong, independent women who have self respect. That is important to me and sometimes rare to find.

3 stars. I read this less than a month ago and my memory is already really fuzzy. That should say everything really. I believe that I mostly enjoyed this story but ...who really can say?

Safe w/ Exceptions because this is a second chance romance and these two had a long separation with other partners. I felt like the reasons for their separations weren't terrible, so the past didn't really bother me much. The book is totally safe otherwise, no others from the point of reunion, no scenes with om/ow, no cheating.

I’m a fan of Samanthe Beck. She always, always writes heroes I want to fall in love with and heroines I would love to be friends with. The men and women of her Love Emergency series have been incredible with their easy going attitudes, strong wills, passion, and love. What has surprised me about this series is that not only has Samanthe added passion and heat, but she has thrown in heartbreaking moments.

Emergency Attraction is the second chance love story of Shane Maguire and Sinclair Smith. Ten years ago, an eighteen-year-old Shane left sixteen- year-old Sinclair and his troubles in Magnolia Grove, Georgia behind to join the Marines. He promised that he would contact her and that they would be together. After months of not hearing from him, Sinclair’s trust was broken. But in the process she lost more than anyone could imagine.

Fast forward ten years and Shane is all grown up, mature, and a different person. Oh, his urge to help people is still a part of him. He just uses it in his job as VP of Disaster Planning and Crisis Management for Haggerty Consulting. Shane’s company is hired to implement an emergency plan for Magnolia Grove and he is sent because of his knowledge of the town. Not only does Shane want to show people he isn’t anything like his criminal brother, but he also wants to reconnect with Sinclair “the one who got away”.

Sinclair has no intention of letting Shane back into her life. But Shane is definitely persistent, taking her on tours of their past haunts. These tours are a way for him and Sinclair to reconnect not only physically, but emotionally. As it turns out, while these two knew so much about each other, there are some things they don’t know.

What started out as childhood love has blossomed and remained strong, even with time and distance. Like the roots of a willow tree, the love of Sinclair and Shane is deeply rooted and strong enough to withstand any storm rained down on them.

When it comes to romances for me, I always look for a hero I can fall in love with easily, one who makes me laugh, smile, and sigh. Shane is all that and then some. He might make some mistakes but he tries very hard to keep his word. Sinclair and Shane have a passion that isn’t easy to ignore. The secondary characters add tissue-worthy moments and definitely add to the story.

It should be noted that this is a standalone read, with past couples returning.

I loved this book. I love all of Samanthe Beck's books. Truly. Her characters always, always make me care, make me feel, and make me happy. This time it's Shane and Sinclair, and I adored everything about them. Combined with smart writing, humor, engaging dialogue, and hot sexy times, this is another page-turning winner I highly recommend.

I've really enjoyed Beck's books and had such a good time with book one-- Emergency Engagement. And LOVED book two-- Emergency Delivery. It was one of my favorite reads this year.

Emergency Attraction and I, though? Well, yall, we did not get along. No, ma'am. We sure did not.
The Gist: It's been 10 years since things fell apart between Shane and Sinclair. He went off to join the Marines and by the time he was able to get in touch she decided she didn't want to hear from him anymore because he'd not contacted her soon enough. And so they went on to lead their separate lives. Now he's back in town for a job he's determined to set things right between them.

Yeah. So this one didn't work for me. I didn't connect with either character or feel like we ever got to know them. I totally fell in love with the previous characters but these I was just meh over and never felt giddy over them. I didn't like their drama, either. Or the heroine's tendency to slap the hero whenever she was pissed or how she'd run away when she didn't like how things were going. I didn't feel the chemistry between them either. And, lord, you'd think after all these years they wouldn't be stupid enough to NOT use condoms or even talk about protection... but they were. *hangs head* That's pretty much when I was done with them because they just didn't learn anything since their teen years. The whole thing just fell flat.

So it was a miss.

I can always count on Samanthe Beck for a hot, sexy read that I can’t put down. No matter what the summary says, I always download everything she writes and if you are a fan of contemporary romance and haven’t read her, I highly recommend you drop everything and do it now.

Emergency Attraction is book 3 in a companion series that I completely missed for some reason. I will tell you that you can absolutely read these out of order and still be fine. I have already downloaded the first two and will be reading them once I catch up with my other review books.

I love second chance love stories for the most basic of reasons… I love when characters have a history and a past and that allows for so much backstory and Shane and Sinclair certainly have that and more. Ten years ago, Shane left town with only one regret… leaving Sinclair Smith behind. He had his reasons for going, but never truly explained them to Sinclair. Now he’s back and he’s determined to get back everything he gave up… including Sinclair.

Sinclair on the other hand doesn’t trust Shane one bit and certainly doesn’t forgive him for leaving her behind, but she needs his help and despite breaking promises to her in the past, she needs him to keep the one that will help save her property.

I really enjoyed both Shane and Sinclair. Shane, the bad boy who is forced to join the military, but finds not only a mentor there, but that it was the one thing that saved him. He’s back stronger, more self-assured and determined. But Sinclair didn’t just sit around and lament the life she could have had with him, instead she found her own passions and success.

There’s no denying that Beck can build amazing connections between characters and the chemistry between these two was off the charts. Sweet, sexy and fun is the only way to describe these two. The banter was wonderful and the relationship growth was just perfectly done for me.

Overall, another excellent read from Samanthe Beck that just solidifies her name on my auto-buy list!

Thank you to the publisher for an early copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Emergency Attraction is a second chance romance. It's not a suspense nor is it a mystery but there's a secret that drives a bit of the plot and I really loved how that element was woven into the story it kept me anticipating and flipping pages even though I pretty much knew what it was from the start but it had me riveted nonetheless.

That's not the only thing that kept me flipping pages and emotionally invested in these characters and their story. Samanthe Beck has a knack for writing stories that keep me highly entertained (this one had me chuckling every so often) emotionally satisfied and hot and bothered from the Hot sex scenes.

I absolutely adored it. Everyone needs to meet the arrogance that is Shane and the feistiness that is Sinclair and the explosion that is them together. The sexual tension between these two was off the chains and when they came together oh boy combustible doesn't do justice to what happens between them when they ignite. If that's your cup of tea so to speak don't hesitate to pick this book up, I can't recommend it enough.

Samanthe Beck is an author who first came to my attention with her McCade Brothers series, part of the Brazen line of erotic romances from Entangled Publishing. Not only did she turn me onto other authors writing for this imprint (Brazen books are still a favorite to this day), she quickly became an author whose upcoming releases I’d look out for. She’s got a knack for writing sexy scenes with likable characters and low angst stories; easy reads with high heat. Emergency Attraction combines those with a second chance romance for a couple who fell in love in their teens and, now older and wiser, find themselves falling in love all over again.

When Sean Maguire, bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, left Magnolia Grove he had no plans to return. A stint in the military helped him acquire the skills he needed to become an emergency planning consultant and ten years later, his company has a contract with the city. He agrees to return knowing it’s a short term assignment and has no plans to stay. Part of him is also hoping he’ll run into Sinclair Smith, his old girlfriend who ditched him while he was away at basic training, never returning his letters or phone calls. It’s an old heartbreak, but he still wants to know what happened.

Sinclair can’t believe it when the man who broke her heart shows up at her sister’s wedding reception. She’s moved on and is happy with her single life and her jewelry design business. She’s got an old barn partially renovated as her living quarters and workshop and she’s just waiting for some final city permits to be granted in order to finish the job. Seeing Sean again brings back both good and bad memories for her. When he helps her out of a jam and insists she repay the favour by treating him as a tourist and showing him all the new town developments since he’s left, she can’t really refuse. She has unanswered questions too, and the lack of real closure between them as teenagers means she’s never really gotten over the feelings she had for him. Sexual attraction flares from the moment they lay eyes on each other, and as they spend time together the strength of those old feelings comes back. But Sean doesn’t plan to stay, and Sinclair is determined to guard her heart, even if her body has other ideas. Can a teenage fantasy of happy ever after finally turn into the real thing?

I liked how Sean’s character comes across in this story, his desire for acceptance resulting in impulsive decisions not always to his own benefit. As a young boy being raised in a poorer area of town, he felt the need to show people that he was better than his older brother, a juvenile delinquent who eventually ended up in jail. This meant coming to the rescue of people being treated poorly, including as it turns out, Sinclair on a prom date with a not-so nice guy named Ricky Pinkerton. Rescuing her from a situation with which Sinclair was clearly uncomfortable, the ensuing few weeks were among the happiest of their two young lives. That time, when sexual awakenings and first love blossomed together, was cut short by the ramifications of Sean’s actions when the fight he’d gotten into with Ricky led to his very limited options – county jail or the military. He chose the marines, and with Sinclair leaving for a European summer holiday, they agreed to keep in touch over the summer.

But Sean’s hero complex interfered again. In basic training, he came to the defense of a young recruit, resulting in his (Sean’s) almost getting thrown out of the military, needing to restart his training and keep himself squeaky clean. Unbeknownst to him, Sinclair had been trying to reach him she was while in Europe. When she comes home early from her summer holiday and still doesn’t hear from Sean, she resolves to put him behind her. Four months later, when Sean finally reaches out she never replies, leaving Sean to assume she’d moved on, never knowing why.

Back in the present, their anger at each other overflows, as does the truth of what happened that summer. It ignites the passion between them, never far from the surface, in several steamy scenes. But Sean still has the urge to play hero, this time with more serious consequences. A golf course on a resort property being built by none other than their teenage nemesis Ricky will require a diversion of a creek to prevent possible flooding – a diversion that will risk Sinclair’s home. From a money standpoint, making Sinclair move to a new location makes the most sense. But Sean’s already let her down once, and he’s determined not to do it again. He could be risking his job by trying to protect her; and balancing his feelings for her, his work ethic and the idea of leaving her again for another assignment is very much a challenge.

Sinclair behaves towards Sean in a perfectly understandable way, considering what happened to her as a teenager, yet it’s hard to hold a grudge in the face of his explanation and apology – and his clear interest in making things up to her. I liked her feisty nature, her willingness to fight for her home in the face of some pretty stiff opposition, and her honest feelings for Sean. Things come to a head soon enough, where they both have to make some choices and decide if their feelings are strong enough to really commit to a new life together. The pull between this couple is convincing, as is the happy ending they achieve. Emergency Attraction is the kind of romance that proves love can be even better the second time around.

Fun second chance romance. It's been 10 years since Sinclair & Shane have seen each other. He was her first everything and a minor misunderstanding separated them. Until Shane attends Sinclair's sister wedding.

When he laid eyes on her again he knew he still loved her and would do everything in his power to get her back. Sinclair on the other hand fought her feelings for him until she couldn't anymore. They were things that he wasn't aware of that she finally told him about. His reaction was very sweet.

Another misunderstanding from an old grudge almost separated them again but Shane made sure that didn't happen. Their ending was really nice.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2017/04...

Emergency Attraction is emotional, addictive, and seriously hot. I’m a sucker for second chance romances, and Samanthe Beck has delivered a wonderful one in Sinclair and Shane’s story.

Ms. Beck excels at penning swoon-worthy heroes and Shane is no exception. When he left Magnolia Grove ten years ago to join the Marines, he left his heart with Sinclair. Now that he’s back in town, he’s determined to win back her trust. I absolutely adored Shane. He’s kind, sexy as hell, and his biggest problem is that he tries too hard to protect people (to his own detriment). Shane isn’t perfect, but he’s a perfectly delicious hero and I was rooting for him to win Sinclair back. And speaking of Sinclair, she’s an independent heroine with a spine of steel. Not much can get under her skin, but Shane is the exception. And though she doesn’t want to give him a second chance, he has a way of slipping past all her barriers. But Shane broke her heart and the mistakes of youth, when combined with old wounds and misunderstandings make her wary of forgiving him. Normally I dread the “big misunderstanding” device, but in this case I didn’t mind. In Shane and Sinclair’s situation it was completely logical, organic to the characters, and was resolved in a satisfying way.

Emergency Attraction is fast-paced and feels light on its feet, but make no mistake, it’s an emotional story as well. I loved how well Ms. Beck balanced heartache and forgiveness with hope and trust. And when you add in the fact that Sinclair and Shane are insanely hot together? It’s easy to see why I hated having to put this book down.

Emergency Attraction is the third book in Ms. Beck’s Love Emergency series and – if you don’t mind major spoilers for the first book, Emergency Engagement, and minor spoilers for the second book, Emergency Delivery – it can be read as a standalone. That being said, this is a fantastic series and you’re missing out if you don’t read the first two books. Fans of the Love Emergency heroes and heroines will all be delighted to know that their favorite characters return for this story and add more humor and heart to the tale. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Shane and Sinclair’s story. It’s heartfelt and hot – an irresistible combination.

I love a good second chance romance, but I have to admit this one pulled me in deeper than I expected and at first I wasn’t sure whether I’d like it. It’s been ten years since Shane left and it’s instantly clear that Sinclair is not over it. She has her reasons too, which is what made me wary. Shane is focused and determined to get them back on track, despite the long separation, while Sinclair is torn.

Yet, simply and beautifully, Samanthe Beck managed to soothe all my worries with the rare and delightful approach of having her characters talk to each other. A novel idea, and yet it left both characters on the same page from quite early on. No, it didn’t go back and erase all the hurt and pain, but it made sure they understood why and how it all fell apart and allowed them to move forward – without dragging the mystery out for the entire book.

And that’s when I could relax and enjoy this, because Shane is amazing. He didn’t have the best childhood and he didn’t leave town under the nicest of circumstances, but he’s turned himself around and he’s made something of himself. He’s back in town for an excellent reason and now that he’s seen Sinclair again, he isn’t letting go without a fight (and even after a fight, he probably still won’t let go). He’s a tenacious, determined man and his number one goal is Sinclair’s happiness. How could I not fall for that?

Sinclair is determined and focused too, but she’s spent their separation working on her career and ignoring emotions. So when Shane roars back into her life, it’s understandable that she feels like the rug has been swept out from beneath her. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but I loved how Shane drew (and sometimes dragged) deeper emotions and intimacy out of their time together. Sinclair is so strong and stubborn that she never would have got there on her own, but together they make an awesome pair.

Of course it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, even without their past hurts. Things in town aren’t all perfect and it’s all very well for Shane to tell Sinclair to trust him, but after their history he has to prove it too. Which definitely isn’t always an easy feat. But it all fed into their tale of second chances, not just in love, but in a wider context too.

So if you’re looking for a sexy second chance read that’s more than just a lusty reunion, give this a try. It gets emotional at times, but it’s smart too and doesn’t leave either partner guessing for long. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the ending made me smile. Whether you’ve read the other books in this series or not, there’s plenty here to enjoy.

I do love a second chance romance and this was a good one.

Have love Sinclair since book one, and Shane. (although I am never quite actually sure just WHAT his job was!!?)

Anyway, sometimes the reason a couple is apart for such a long time is ridiculous, but not so here, yes there was a little drama that lead to it, but mainly a case if life getting in the way, and thinking the other person will have moved on. Made it seem more believable.

I like also, that is is clear that Shane always thought Sinclair was the one that got away. I do not like it when the hero and heroine meet up again, and the hero who has not given one thought to the heroine suddenly decides he has been missing out. But here, they both had been thinking of the other and possibly internet stalking each other a touch.

But as soon as they meet up again, sparks fly. Yes some misunderstanding to be cleared up and secrets to be revealed, but it felt like a believable authentic story of two people finding their way back to each other. And that maybe they are not what they thought they were.

It was full of chemistry, passion, pain and overall a really enjoyable love story.

Oh and I adored the ending, with Beau, Hunter and Shane.

A great end to a great series. Will be checking out more from this author.

So, I just don't know where to start with this review. Did I like this? YES! Was I confused cause it's the third book in the series? Nope (and I'll be going back to read the first two books, soon, especially Savannah and Beau's story).

This was a second chance story about Sinclair and Shane. They were together in high school until Shane left under not so great circumstances for the Marines. Sinclair was two years younger and was left behind. She had a hard time with his absence and his lack of communication. Truly, things were beyond Shane's control on the communication front, but I TOTALLY get Sinclair's resentment. When Shane finally reached out to her, she did not respond because her life had taken such a drastic turn. Forward ten years and Shane has come back to Magnolia Grove and realizes he may want to stay in town after his job is done because he realizes he isn't finished with Sinclair.

I loved how he took her on these "tours" of places in their town that was meant to make her admit they were in love and that they could have a future. I loved that Shane didn't give up on getting her to open up to him about why she was so guarded.

The epilogue was GREAT!

Please forgive me but when I realised the hero of this book was called Shane Maguire, I instantly had an image of the character with the same name from the British TV Show, Shameless. Not really what I wanted in my head but hey I went with it.

Shane and Sinclair are the Hero and heroine in this second chance love story, having got together whilst in High School. Circumstances happened which meant they went their separate ways, with Sinclair placing the blame solely with Shane for this. What first struck me as odd was how this book portrayed Shane to be an incredible lover at such a young age. I didn't find that believable at all, nor did I feel that it showcased the age difference from then and until they crossed paths over 10 years later.

Another thing I noticed with this story and what I was initially led to believe was a stand alone was the fact that it felt like I was missing something and then after I looked into it, I realised that many of the character's had featured in the author's Love Emergency series. I have since noticed that this book has been rebranded as the Third book of the series. I don't know if the fact that I hadn't read the previous books was the reason, but I just couldn't really get a grip of these characters and the story itself just really wasn't engaging me. I felt the most enjoyable part was the environmental issues.

There were many more plausibility issues I had with the story, however the basis and the idea behind the story itself was really good.

In summary, I just couldn't buy into Shane and Sinclair's past and present which made me doubt their future, but sadly the story's execution just wasn't for me.

Emergency Attraction was a hot, fun and very entertaining second chance love story.

The storyline was well written, the plot was easy to follow and the drama was well done.
I loved watching Sinclair and Shane reconnect, you could feel their attraction/connection all throughout the book and the chemistry between them was off the charts!

These two had me staying up late into the night reading their story, it warmed my heart seeing them come together after all the misunderstandings that kept them apart.

I'm a huge fan of author Samanthe Beck's work and once again she's given us a hot and steamy read with characters that will entertain us and leave us with a heart full of happy feels.

There were a few errors that needs an edit. Other than that, the book was PERFECT!! Truly flippin adorable. I started reading and realized this was part of a series. This book was so good and so well written, I didn't need any of the previous books to follow along. If given a chance I will read them of course, but only because I fell in love with the characters here. That's the mark of a true standalone.

This was a second chance romance. We all know my fondness for those LOL.

AUTHOR: I'm sorry I came late to the party. You have some amazing talent as far as I can tell.

The girl that got away and the man that let it happen.

Ten years after leaving town to join the Marines and never looking back, Shane Maguire is back in town. The company he works for was hired by the town.

The girl that he let slip through his hands still lives in that town and Sinclair is not going to make it easy for Shane to wiggle his way back into her broken heart. Sinclair does all she can to keep Shane away from her heart. As they revisit the places from their youth, Sinclair tries to keep her heart out of it.

Will Shane come to the rescue of Sinclair when she needs help or will he walk away once again?

This book is full of angst, drama, and lots of hot scenes. Definitely kept me turning the pages. This was the first book that I've read by Samanthe Beck, but I will be putting her on list of authors to read. Thoroughly enjoyable.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 17, 2017

And this time, she’ll show Shane what it means to be left wanting

•••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars-- EMERGENCY ATTRACTION is the third (and final?) installment in Samanthe Beck’s contemporary, adult LOVE EMERGENCY erotic, romance series. This is former Marine and risk management assessor Shane Maguire, and jewelry designer Sinclair Smith’s story line. EMERGENCY ATTRACTION can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story line is revealed where necessary. Sinclair is the sister of Savannah Smith (Emergency Engagement #1).

Told from dual third person perspectives (Sinclair and Shane) EMERGENCY ATTRACTION focuses on the rekindling romance between our leading couple. Ten years earlier Shane and Sinclair were in love but a then eighteen year old Shane Maguire enlisted in the Marines to avoid some trouble back home, and in the ensuing time Shane and Sinclair lost contact with one another. Fast forward to present day wherein Shane has returned to his hometown of Magnolia Grove, and the woman he has never stopped loving in all that time. What ensues is the second chance romance between Shane and Sinclair, and the fallout of ten years of anger and betrayal for a woman who lost more than the man that she loved.

Sinclair Smith was sixteen years old when Shane Maguire walked out of her life but things did not go according to plans and our heroine struggled with the loss of the only boy she would ever love. Throughout the years Shane never stopped loving the woman from whom he walked away but walking away had never been in the plans.

The relationship between Shane and Sinclair is one of second chances but ten years earlier Sinclair struggled with more than the loss of the man that she loved but a loss that has affected her life in many ways. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Savannah and Beau Montgomery (Emergency Engagement#1), Madison and Hunter Foley (Emergency Delivery #2), as well as Sinclair’s parents, and an assortment of townsfolk, politicians and the requisite evil who has history with our story line hero.

EMERGENCY ATTRACTION is a sweet story of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people torn apart by circumstance, a lack of communication, misunderstanding, secrets and life. The premise is lighthearted and moving ; the romance is passionate, sexy and spicy; the characters are spirited and energetic. EMERGENCY ATTRACTION is a touching story about fated lovers given a second chance at life and love.

Seeing Shane for the first time in ten years, as an uninvited at her sister, Savannah's (book one, Emergency Engagement), wedding, has made Sinclair realize his impact on her hasn't lessened, even if she's determined to act as though it has.

Shane has returned to his hometown due to his employer winning a contract for emergency planning services. It isn't long before Shane is proving that his expertise is a blessing.

Shane knew he'd see Sinclair again and in fact wanted to. However, he hadn't expected to still want her period. But again, he has no intention of staying and will leave as soon as his job allows it, though he will use it to his advantage when Sinclair needs assistance. His payment? Six tours, with her as his guide, to relearn his hometown and see the changes a decade have brought.

“I remember finding some extremely creative places to leave marks. So you wouldn’t get in trouble. You didn’t need to be as cautious with me.” - Shane

The explosive attraction is still there between them, as is their connection. Unfortunately, the history is there as well and Sinclair can't afford to forget that he walked away from everything, including her, and stayed that way for a decade. She can't deny how badly she still craves him, and it's obviously mutual, so what could it possibly hurt to enjoy the benefits of indulging their desire? He's leaving soon anyway, isn't he, and Sinclair can separate her heart from sex with him, right?

As for Shane, he's remembering every second he and Sinclair spent together and wonders how he ever left her in the first place...not to mention, if he could survive doing it again.

Will Shane and Sinclair admit that though they both moved forward, neither truly moved on? How did their promise to stay in touch, their pledges of love, turn into no contact for ten years? Can Sinclair trust that Shane won't leave again? Will Shane learn what happened to Sinclair after he left? How will he react when he does?  Will they accept the love the still have for one another and realize it's stronger now than ever? Will they get a second chance with their first and only love? Will they get their HEA?

One-click now and follow along as two people, destined to be together, finally get the future they always wanted. Please keep in mind this is book three of the series and though it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the books in order.

Going home meant a second chance…
The cover and blurb pulled me into this standalone, my first read in the series, and Shane kept me hooked…
“Those lips curled into the I-dare-you grin she blamed for some of her most regrettable decisions.”
Shane and Sinclair had history that ended a decade ago. Unexpected events and a lot of miscommunication meant their reunion was anything but tranquil. The sexual tension was still there and everything unresolved between beat like a drum as Shane pushed to find the answers they both deserved.
The storyline is not a new one though the author added dramatic plot twists to make it her own. While, overall, I wished for more, the story climax and resolution won me over. It was a well-written read with characters that I liked even when I wanted more from them. It frustrates me when huge life decisions are based on circumstances that a good talk through would help resolve.
Through it all Shane was definitely the shining star for me. He wasn’t perfect but he was sexy, strong and oh so charming. He met each challenge head on, refusing to take the easy route while forcing Sinclair to do the same. He pushed and cajoled and didn’t give up which kept me hanging on to enjoy the sweetest of endings.
