Personal, relevant, meaningful, and provocative are words faculty and students have used to describe Social Psychology. Stephen Franzoi emphasizes the science of social psychology in a way that students will find uniquely insightful, rewarding, and thought provoking. The text now includes a separate chapter on Research Methods. The analysis of evolutionary and sociocultural forces continues to be highlighted throughout the text, promoting both debate and recognition of common ground between these two perspectives and encouraging students to develop critical thinking skills through the examination of current controversies. This edition also features the introduction of the self as a theme to give students a meaningful context for exploring the key concepts of social psychology.
I was in graduate school when the author, who was working in the same department, was writing this textbook (3rd Edition). I'm the "lower performing student" needing to "reduce self-esteem threat following his upward comparison" on page 74.
Franzoin kirja on loistava yleiskatsaus sosiaalipsykologiaan.
