Discover a fresh, new take on the traditional craft of macrame, a craft that was incredibly popular in the seventies, and which is currently enjoying a renaissance. Macrame projects are the best way to bring the current trend for luxe, boho interiors into your home.
This title includes very on trend macrame projects for inside and outside the home. Choose from 12 different projects with an 'easy' and 'more advanced' version for each so you can develop your skills as you go.
Learn all the basic macramé knots with the knot tutorial library so you can get started with your favourite projects straight away, whether it's the ubiquitous hanging plant holder or a stunning statement arch for the garden or a doorway.
For those of us remember the 1970's will know that Macrame was hugely popular back then and now it is making a comeback, not only for crafters but also for the modern home.
Of course it has come a long way, and is not just used to make those plant holders we all remember with our mothers Bizzy Lizzys hanging in the kitchen.
This book is just amazing and the art of tying knots is brought bang up to date. with door hangings, bunting and table runners.
This is book that gives you a comprehensive lesson in Macrame. Instructions on tying knots, what you need to get started and of course hints and tips to get a professional result.
The projects are brilliantly spectacular..my favourites are the Hanging light, the Door hanging and the Deck chair. Inspiring and useful, each one is just beautiful. The colours of the rope used in each project is divine, and give a modern and stylish look.
Yes the humble Planter does make an appearance, but in all honesty it is given an update with the many different knots that are shown.
I loved this book, and as soon as my rope arrives I will be giving it a go for definite.
I don't think that this book is very good for beginners, maybe confident beginners and beyond, while there are projects for the beginner, I feel that the instructions may not be enough, I am a visual learner and the lack of picture instructions would not be helpful. I wouldn't have purchased this book if I'd been able to see it beforehand and I did try the sample first, but it only showed writing and some of the knots. I'm sure it will sit some and has some good ideas in it, hence the 4 stars, just not my cup of tea
Compared to other macrame books I’ve read in my current craft phase, this has a wider variety of types of projects and general construction ideas (hanging baskets! Lawn chairs! A swing! A circular wall medallion that doesn’t sell itself as a dream catcher!). Not as many interesting stitches and knot combinations, though.
Great projects and well-explained instructions for beginners and those with more advanced skills. I was successfully able to make the basic plant hanger on the first go! Looking forward to trying more of these projects soon.
I don't really need another new hobby, but this book is so beautiful and the projects so fine that I just might have to pick up macramé, too! Well worth a look. :)
