I write action/adventure fiction with a definite proclivity towards Sword & Sorcery. I like magicians, but I'm less partial to unicorns, dragons, elves and dwarves. But give me a hero with a magic sword and I'll make him sing... Wait, I already have!

I've published a number of works under the CasiePress imprint and there are more to come.

I'm an older guy (Guy!), married and all my kids have grown up and given me grandkids to dote over. I've read thousands of books and found that in most cases, I'd rather write than read.

The MC becomes too powerful to relate to. For now his disadvantages are only young age and ambiguous status and it will surely change soon. So it gets a bit boring by now.

I love the series, and this installment was no exception in terms of plotting and character development. Overall, the series is magnificent. I do have two issues that caused me to give it a 4 star rating instead of a 5.

--one is that Pol is really killing a LOT...at least the author has him question that. But having every sticky situation end in instant death is a bit much. Maybe the "bad guys" shouldn't be so extreme? Easy death shouldn't be the constant solution. At least it isn't very graphic.
--the biggest issue by far is the author has Pol's friend/love interest CONSTANTLY pinching, poking, hitting and slapping Pol, leaving bruises and pain. It is so bad that I started inadvertently saying aloud, "Stop it!" and "Not Again???" when the author had her pinch him, in particular. UGH...no one behaves like that and no one puts up with it (except in very dysfunctional relationships)--it's abuse. Really dislike the author's use of this. It mars otherwise great writing.

Because of these two issues, I am pausing in the otherwise very intriguing story.

The Sleeping God (The Disinherited Prince Book 4) Review

Dear Guy, what a wonderful story and I can't wait for the next book in the series. Please let me know when it is to be released. The characters and plot lines are outstanding and exciting action keeps the series moving forward at a rapid rate. Once started I discovered that I couldn't put the book down. Thanks for the entertainment and a great story. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone interested in reading a great story.

Lack of maps

Map do really add to the reading experience. I am very spatially oriented. I like knowing where I am in relation to the rest of the world. The land topography culture all blends together to enrich a story. The long version of I'm sorry there aren't maps. Particularly because there is a lot of traveling in these books. I'm enjoying them. Its a bit grim. For me a bit of humor or a break or two of fun or, improved relationship, bonding would were the dark and hopeless mood. Only about half way through.

Entertaining Read

Pol and crew are on a trek through the nations on another continent to find the family of his father. Danger abounds as multiple kidnappings, rescues, magic, battles and relationships ensue. I like the action, humor, intrigue, and romance. I look forward to the next book.

This book didn't live up to the series. Pol acted stupid and hesitated when attacked and got entangled into trouble that could've been avoided. He also listened to People he didn't trust and acted like a little boy. Sometime he is a thick headed idiot.

After escaping from North Salvan the group travels to the continent of Volia. Their adventures in Volia keep the reader in constant action. This makes the books really interesting. As tours of fantasy land go this is a great adventure.

We continue to be astounded by Pol and his power.

To some extent it’s standard random adventure: stuff happens then more stuff happens and everyone is reacting, but behind it all is a search for understanding, of culture, languages, humanity, and belonging. Good read and nicely done.

GOOD BUT OTHERS WERE BETTER

This is #4, I have read and enjoyed the first 3. What I didn’t enjoy about this is the characterization of the main female. In spite of being intelligent and capable she had the worst characteristics of a jealous teen.

Awesomeness

I really enjoyed this book. It picks up where the other one ends. That is the good news. We meet new friends who mayor may not be important in the future. Some old friends are mentioned. Well I don't want to give to much of the book away.,,,

I will definitely be reading the next one.
