RATING 4.5 STARS

Misadventures of a Backup Bride is book four in the Misadventures series. This book is by Shayla Black. This book was so sweet (and I mean that both literally and figuratively) and sexy and I completely enjoyed it. There were also a couple of little surprises that I never saw coming!

Carson Frost has unexpectedly inherited his birth father’s multimillion dollar candy company, Sweet Darlin’, after his passing. Carson couldn’t have been more surprised since he barely knew his father. He was always so busy running his company. Carson was raised by a very loving mother and step-father. The company is cash strapped and if he can’t secure a loan soon, everything will be lost. He wants to save the company to honor his father. No bank would loan him the money he needs so he turned to a rival candy company. He will give him the loan but with some very unique stipulations. The owner is worried about his wayward daughter and he wants Carson to marry her!

Beautiful Bride

Carson agrees to the terms but try as he might, he and his fiance just can’t seem to find any common ground on which to base a marriage. There is exactly zero chemistry between them. He’s pretty certain she feels the same way. So a new plan is hatched. Carson will invent a long lost love,

Carson met Ella Hope about six months ago but she was on a date with a friend of his. There was an instant spark, something that kept him from forgetting her. He remembered she was an actress in Los Angeles and she was the first and only person that came to mind to pose as his love interest.

wedding cake topper

Ella has had little luck jump starting her career as an actress. She needs rent money so when Carson called and offered her a job posing as his long lost love, she agreed. She definitely remembered Carson. She couldn’t take her eyes off of him the time they met. She doubted he felt the same way but had no hesitations in accepting the job. As soon as she arrived in North Carolina and they were face to face, that same spark was there only this time it was more like huge arcs of electricity between them. Needless to say, these two decided very quickly to act on their mutual attraction and if their chemistry could have been bottled, they would have been able to light up the entire city.

“He wants to conquer me. Heaven help me, I want to let him. This is so not what I planned on happening.”

in the shower

As the days pass, their bond grows into something more. But Ella was raised by two parents that rarely had time for their own children. The thought of falling so fast for this man is frightening. No way could she trust that what they have found together could last. Plus, her life is in Los Angeles and his is here. If they were going to make this work, who would be the one to sacrifice?

“When this assignment is over, maybe the glow I’m feeling with this surprising attachment will have dimmed. After all, what are the chances that the guy who hired me to jilt him would be my soul mate?”

As they try to convince everyone their love is true, they realize that they aren’t play acting. But Ella is convinced that she will end up with a broken heart if she stays. Somehow Carson has to convince her that he truly wants her. That he has fallen in love with her and she is all he wants.

This was such a sweet and sexy story. I loved both Carson and Ella. Both had their demons to conquer. But together, they filled a need neither of them realized was there. They completed each other. The end of this was so cute and there were a couple of unexpected surprises as I said. This was such a fun little book. I completely enjoyed it and would not hesitate to read anything by this author in the future.

InstaLUST straight into instaLOVE!

Carson is marrying a woman he isn't in love with. Don't worry. She isn't in love with him either. He's doing this in order to please her father so he will help him out with his company. It gets down to the nitty gritty and he knows he just CAN'T go through with the marriage, so he comes up with a spur of the moment alternative plan that involves an actress he met months back that he can't stop thinking about.

Ella is an actress in a bit of a slump. She isn't the conventional beauty that Hollywood is after, but that doesn't mean she isn't beautiful. When Carson calls her she lights up. Of course she remembers the handsome man she met a few months back at a party. OF COURSE she's willing to take an acting job to help him trick his boss. Little does she know that once she's in Carson's arms she won't have to act and it won't feel like a job!

In Misadventures of a Backup Bride Shayla Black provides a fun and steamy contemporary romance. If you like instalust and love with lots of smutty bits, then this read is for you. I really enjoyed this story and how much these characters really feel for each other. I think some people may dislike the end results of this story, but honestly sometimes you choose to sacrifice for love. In this instance and this story, I feel like it worked. I'm actually intrigued by one of the side characters stories as well. I realize this probably won't become a series, but the author did a great job making other characters appealing and matter even in such a quick read!

This book will be available October 17th!

This was so sexy and so much fun! It’s a favorite trope of mine and the chemistry between the main characters is off the charts hot!! It’s a super quick and fun read! I’m really loving this series so much!

Here’s the breakdown: Carson inherited his biological father’s company after a cousin made some poor financial decisions. While working to bring the company back into the black he makes a deal with a rival businessman to bail the company out. The only catch….he has to marry the guys daughter.

What I loved: The trope is a top fave of mine, but the main characters were amazing. Carson is dominant and swoony! A real catch!
I also loved that things progressed rather quickly with them. They jumped right into the relationship and pretty much gave it their all. It really helped to make the relationship and the short timeframe more believable.
I also enjoyed the mini twist at the end. Everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow.

All in all, this was a great quick read. If you’re looking for something steamy and fun, I highly recommend it!

4.5 'Not so Fake Wife' Stars!

It's been quite some time since my last book by Shayla Black. I got curious about this series and I decided to give Misadventures of a Backup Bride a go. Well, I was pleasently surprised! It was sexy, entertaining and with a good dose of emotions. It had everything I enjoy in a good novella and I also like Shayla's writing so I am not complaining at all!

Really enjoyed this story and these characters. Definitely recommend reading this short story!

I’m all about these Misadventures series. I find them fun, flirty and different. I love that there’s a different author and theme to every book.

Misadventures of a Backup Bride is written by Shayla Black and I have to say this book is one of my favorites by her.

I found this book to be cute, quick and steamy.

Carson inherits his father’s company, the only thing is, it’s a failing company and he needs an investor to help him out.

His investor is a man who wants Carson to marry his daughter.

So what does Carson do? He concocts a plan. He tells his investor he’s already in love with a woman and if he can prove how much he loves her, can’t he just get the money anyhow?

The plot is a little different and it took me some time to understand. I mean Carson is in a pickle right? He has to marry a woman to save his company, but he plans on fake marrying another woman so he doesn’t have to marry the original woman? I know it’s crazy, but it does work.

Carson hires Ella to be his fake girlfriend and soon to be bride?

I liked both Carson and Ella. They had an insta-lust kind of relationship and it kind of vamped up the storyline. It went from sweet to intense fast. As Carson and Ella explore their relationship, Carson has to deal with his investor and decide what the best fate is for all of them. I liked the banter between Carson and Ella the best. I like how he wants her to eat and not try to be model thin and I like how Ella strives so hard to be perfect and pretty. It was like I said cute.

The thing I love about these books is that it’s a no fuss, no muss kind of read. It’s a good book to read in between the more dramatic ones.

This is definitely my favorite of the series! I absolutely loved Carson and Ella. Carson is being forced into a marriage with a rival’s daughter. He confesses to loving another woman and then finds himself having to prove it. Ella is an actress but hasn’t found success yet. When the man she met six months ago calls to offer her a job she accepts. The money is a great motivator but the truth is she was and still is very attracted to him.

This plot moves along at a constant pace never getting old. Something is always twisting and turning as this couple try to decipher what they have together and how they might can make a relationship work. Everything boils down to whether or not they will actually say “I do”. The final twist was unexpected and, if not a little contrived, made me happy for everyone involved.

I was disappointed there was no epilogue but everything else was great. This is a fast read with a bit of humor, realistic characters that communicate, a little insta love, and some good old fashioned steam.

Misadventures of a Backup Bride is the first book I have ever read by author Shayla Black and it's also part of a series of standalone novels that have been hit or miss with me based on their level of erotica content. Misadventures of a Backup Bride was still a bit too steam heavy for my personal taste but at least it had enough storyline to keep me engaged in something other than scene after scene after scene. The storyline centered on a pretend girlfriend/fiance arrangement which is one of my favorite romance tropes to read. Overall, it was a likable adult romance and one of the few out of this series I have been motivated to finish.

I’m not sure how believable this whole storyline is but it was enjoyable!

Carson Frost grew up with a great mom and stepdad but hardly knew his real father, so when his biological father died he was surprised when the company he owned was left to Carson. Even though the company is in a bit of a low cash flow time, Carson is determined to turn the company around and make a real go of it.
Having no real good options he is seeking help from the owner of a rival candy company. The catch is the owner of that rival company has only agreed to help if he marries his daughter.

Even though he has tried to feel something for the young lady he can’t seem to get Ella Hope, whom he met months ago through a friend, out of his head.

Ella Hope is a struggling actress and is having a hard time paying her rent so when Carson contacts her with a job proposition to act as his love interest she agrees. It doesn’t hurt at all, since back when they were introduced she felt a bit of a spark with Carson anyways so it isn’t as if the part would be much of a stretch.

Again, not sure how believable it is but it was a cute & sexy read.

This was another weird one.

Misadventures of a Backup Bride was so strange. In it, a dad is basically offering his kid up for marriage to anyone that has a pulse. I have no idea how Carson and Ella sat there with a straight face while her dad was bargaining with him about this. Yet, they somehow did.

Little did we know, that it wasn't a hard decision to make. They met previously but weren't available at the time. It didn't hurt that sparks were flying that one night because they easily crept up again. Other than that, it was hilarious that they even tried to bottle up their feelings for one another. It was bound to come out - and boy did it.

These two had crazy chemistry. Yet, I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Luckily for me, and them, they found a way to work things out.

Such a fantastic story! 4.5 Stars!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been following the series of books and I finally got chance to read and review one of these stories. And what a great one I chose.
This book follows along the familiar story of the pretend to be my fianceé plot but with an added twist that made it unique and super enjoyable.
This is a fast-paced, not too long and not too short, book which I absolutely enjoyed. Not a lot of fluff; not a lot of filling conversation. Just get right down to it story with all of the hot, steamy love connection that we need in our lives.
Because of the fast pace of the book, it can be difficult to find a connection with the characters. However, the author did a marvelous job giving us a guy who was down to earth, loving, caring, but a little bit of a bad ass too.
I just loved how he was all in once they realized how fiery hot they could be together. His connection to his "fiancée" was written in such an amazing way that you almost felt like you were in the room with them. Sizzling.
I'm glad I got to check out this book. I love the concept of the series and definitely will be picking up more. These hot stories will get your heart pumping and your motor running. Just what we need for these cold nights.
.5 for the ending which was the best part of it, not only did it make me smile it also signalled that the end was finally here.
I was supposed to like this. I mean for real. It sounded like a really spunky read. See I'm more of a third date kinda girl but these two just took one look at each other and BOOM! Insta-Lust! wasn't long before it changed into insta-love. Ugh.
Dude here's a piece of advice. Insta-love? Only acceptable in paranormals. That's it. Nothing else.
This read like a total bad debut so I was shocked to see that Shayla Black has multiple published books. I mean, what?!
Here's something for you to think about. My favourite character? It was the four page Kendra. Frost's forced fiancée. The supposed blonde sorority bimbo.
Talk about a whirlwind! Carson Frost inherits his biological fathers billion dollar candy business that was leveraged too high and left the company cash strapped. He never had much to do with his father, nor stepped foot in the company before. He's working ten times harder to make sure he can turn things around and not let it go in default.
Carson is left with very little choice but to take the competitions offer. Sign over stock in the company and marry the daughter of his fathers rival. The problem is, neither him nor the daughter want this marriage.
At a last ditch effort, Carson tries to talk sense into Gregory and not doom his daughter to an unhappy marriage, but nothing works until he admits that he is already in love with another woman. Gregory is a shrewd business man and he dares Carson to marry his supposed love of his life in two weeks time or the offer for the bail out will have higher consequences.
This is where we meet Hope. Carson and Hope are no strangers. They met months before at a party where she was his friends date. They had an immediate attraction but could do nothing about it. The date never went further than that night between Hope and his friend, but soon after Carson found out he inherited the candy company and moved states away.
When Carson told Gregory that he was already in love, he immediately thought of Hope and decides to contact her to see if she is willing to play the part of a woman falling in love while he works on changing Gregory's mind. When she agrees to pretend to give them a chance, both Carson and Hope learn that their attraction is still very much there.
This was a crazy plot twist that was entertaining but also a bit on the unbelievable side. I still enjoyed the story and was curious how it would all play out in the end. I couldn't figure out why Gregory would allow Carson to switch out his daughter for another woman but the authors did a good job of explaining his behavior in the end. ARC provided by NetGalley.
I liked it. A fairly standard fake relationship turns real trope, Ms. Black gave it a good amount of heat, reasonable-acting characters, and a legit relationship conflict (even if it’s resolved fairly easily). This is the fourth book in a series, but it works as a standalone. The little twists given to the tale by the secondary characters and the main antagonist gives this story a bit of soapy flair, which I wasn’t mad at. This is a easy little read for a Saturday afternoon and while it did tend towards the flowery prose on occasion, overall I did enjoy it. If light and steamy's right up your alley, you may enjoy this.
I loved this book! I have to say this one was my favorite so far. I was hooked from the first page. I instantly fell in love with both Ella and Carson.
Carson is soon going to marry a woman that he doesn’t love in order to get her father to help out with his company. ( before you judge, she isn’t in love with him either). Weeks before the wedding he knows that cannot marry her. So he lies and says that he is already in love with someone else. The dad calls him on his bluff and says that he wants to meet the girl who he so called loves and if he can prove it then he will let him out marrying his daughter and still give him the help for his company. He ends up calling Ella, a girl who is also an actress he met at a wedding a few months back to help him get out marrying his daughter.
The chemistry between these two was magnetic. It’s like it jumped off the page and zapped you. Even though it was basically insta lust, I don’t care. I was rooting for them like no other. All I wanted was a way for this to work and just a HEA.
If your looking for something that’s hot, sexy, and will leave you smiling like an idiot once you are done then pick this up book up!
If you are Shayla Black or a fan of hers, please don’t read this. Also, I can’t promise that there won’t be spoilers born out of frustration. Sorry.
I’ve read some bad books in my live and that wasn’t the worst, but it was close. The book’s only saving grace was that it was short. The plot was ridiculous, full of predictable cliches, no character development that isn’t a result of misconceptions or stereotyping by the hero and features a workaholic that does basically no work but still has a successful company, an actress that can’t act to save her live, tons of insta love that’s mostly lust and lots and lots of saying how someone is smart, brave or down-to-earth without that person showing it convincingly on their own. I got the feeling the book was written in two days and edited in half an hour.
“Misadventures of a backup bride” actually showed in my New releases feed so at one point I must have given a Shayla Black book a good review. Based on this one, can’t imagine why.
This is the story of Carson and Ella. He hires her to play his fake girlfriend so he can seal a business deal with a man who wants to marry him with his daughter, but he wants to escape from that blackmail. In their ploy to fool everyone they get into a lusty relationship and end up falling in love. But the stakes change and the bargain is even bigger.
So far I'm not a big fan of the Misadventures series. I get the feeling that they're too much sex and insta love and I'm not into either of them, so yeah. But if you're into them, please go ahead and grab a copy :) I wish I could see an actual relationship / date scene.. It was too much sex between them to convince me that they fell in love so quickly, so yeah. That's just my opinion :)
PS: This book is actually 193 pages, 200 max, I don't get why it says it's 280 pages 😅
The Misadventures of a Backup Bride
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great quick and easy read. It's a funny love story that will give you a few laughs while reading.
A short story by one of my favorite authors about a scheming plan to prevent a marriage to a halfwitted 22 year old. But most plans never go as planned. It has just enough sexy parts to keep my interest. Not as much erotica that's usually in Ms. Black's books.
Thanks NetGalley and Waterhouse Press for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Carson loves Sweet Darlin', the candy company he inherited from his biological father. He and his father were never all that close, but Carson still wants Sweet Darlin' to succeed. In order for that to happen, he needs a loan ASAP. Gregory Shaw is willing to give him one...if Carson marries Kendra, Shaw's flighty sorority girl daughter. Meanwhile, if Kendra doesn't marry Carson, she won't get her trust fund.
Carson knows that he and Kendra would make an unhappy couple, so, two weeks before the wedding, he lies and tells Shaw that he can't marry her because he's in love with someone else. Shaw decides to call Carson's bluff - he says he'll still give Carson the loan, if he still gets married in two weeks to this other woman he supposedly loves. Carson calls up Ella, an actress he'd met at a party six months ago - at the time, she was dating a friend of his, but she's single now. He asks her to be his pretend fiancee and leave him at the altar. She agrees because her acting jobs have been few and far between and she needs the money. Unfortunately, the two of them have instant chemistry, and their fake relationship turns real, fast.
At Book Bonanza 2019, attendees got a bag with two free books in it. One of them was a random book from the "Misadventures" series, which seems to be a sort of sampler series of unrelated short works by different authors. I think my mom might have gotten M.F. Wild and Mia Michelle's Misadventures of a Valedictorian.
At any rate, after a bad day at work, I needed something fluffy, and this seemed like it might fit the bill. I read the description on the back and the "pretend relationship" aspect was appealing. I didn't bother to look up the author or reviews on Goodreads. If I had, I might have saved this book for another time, because I wasn't expecting erotic romance in which the couple couldn't keep their hands off each other during dinner, the second time they'd ever seen each other, and were having sex within hours of laying out the "occasional public kissing, no sex" ground rules of their pretend relationship.
Readers were supposed to believe that Ella was an actress who was serious about her work and acting future, and that Carson was a dedicated new CEO who'd basically become a workaholic. When it came to what they actually did on-page, though, what I got was that they were both completely driven by their hormones. A  large chunk of the beginning of this book was the two of them having sex. The first person POV made most of the sex scenes more stilted and weird than sexy, and the food sex scene, in which Carson ruined a perfectly good bread pudding by dumping it onto Ella's breasts, was downright gross. Other people's mileage may vary, but that was a "no" for me.
After a couple days of screwing each other's brains out, Carson and Ella finally remembered that they'd actually gotten together for a reason that wasn't purely sex. I had to laugh when they learned that Kendra had fallen for an ROTC guy and were doubtful that she could know that she was really in love with someone after only knowing them for two days. Ella had enough self-awareness to realize that this applied to her and Carson as well, but supposedly "we're different" (102). Sure, uh huh.
The more I thought about the plot, the less it made sense. If Shaw had really wanted to call Carson's bluff, he could have told him "Fine, if you aren't marrying my daughter, then no loan for you." Carson either had to get that loan or watch Sweet Darlin' crumble - he had more to lose than Shaw did. Carson and Shaw would sometimes act like they needed each other, and sometimes like they didn't. And there were a couple developments that just came out of nowhere. On the one hand, Shaw was supposed to be this coldly manipulative businessman who was willing to use his own daughter in his machinations. On the other hand, he was also supposed to be a caring father who just wanted what was best for his daughter. And as for Kendra...
Everything came together too easily in the end, and I found it difficult to believe that Ella and Carson would last long. They'd spent most of their time together having sex, and staying together meant that Ella had to give up her acting career while Carson got everything he wanted (I'm sorry, but the attempt to make it look like he was sacrificing too was weak at best). Also, it bugged me that one of the first things Carson did when Ella arrived was try to dictate what Ella ate. On the advice of her agent, she'd been trying to lose weight, and while I agreed with Carson that she was probably fine as she was, they'd literally just met and at that point he hadn't even known for sure that's why she was ordering a salad. Trying to bully her into ordering a steak just made him look like a jerk.
5 Star review of Misadventures Of A Backup Bride by Shayla Black
What a complicated life Carson Frost leads! When he inherits a confectionery company, he turns to a competitor to assist him with much needed funds he cannot raise in time. The catch? He has to marry the man’s daughter and give up a percentage of his business.
What’s Carson going to do but go ahead with it. However, when doubt rears it’s head he knows he cannot marry her and so begins a web of lies that keep getting bigger and bigger. This is when Carson remembers meeting and being interested in an actress from LA named Ella Hope and he subsequently “hires” her to be his “fake” bride.
What starts off as a fake relationship, soon morphs into so much more and becomes even more complicated, feelings become involved. The possibility of a real relationship soon becomes a reality, only problem is they live states away from each other. Will Carson be prepared to leave his inheritance behind or will Ella be prepared to give up her dreams of winning an Oscar?
The chemistry between Carson and Ella was sizzling the twists and turns heart pounding and all in all was a great addition to this wonder Misadventures series.
'Misadventures of a Backup Bride' by Shayla Black is book Four in The "Misadventures" series. This is the story of Carson Frost and Ella Hope. This book is a standalone book.
Carson inherited his fathers business but it and he needs money to get it up and going again. When an investor says he will give the money if he would marry his daughter...he reluctantly agrees. But then he back tracks and says he can't marry the mans daughter because he loves another. So he is then told to marry the women he loves instead of the daughter. Carson doesn't have anyone in his live that can be a pretend girlfriend.
Ella is an actress that needs money so when presented the job by Carson she accepts to be his fake girlfriend to bride. But sometimes when you pretend it becomes real.
This was a fun read but also one that was a quick one. Really enjoyed it!
Carson is trying to keep an inherited candy company afloat but to do that he needs to make a deal with the devil. To combat this deal Carson hires Ella to pretend to be his love interest. Carson and Ella have a connection from the past and as they explore this fake relationship they may find that they have a connection. The sparks fly from their first meeting and they continue to flare throughout the entire story. This story was fun, sweet, sexy, and a good time.
I have nothing smart to say about it. I liked blurb but sadly I overall feel very meh about this book.
When Carson Frost inherits a confectionary that rakes in billions but is too cash-strapped to last another sixty days, he agrees to take a loan from his late father's rival. Concocts a Fake Bride... Two weeks before the wedding, he gets cold feet and claims he's in love with someone else. The investor says he'll still hand over the cash if Carson takes a stroll down the aisle--with the woman who owns his heart. Since he isn't even dating anyone, Carson panics. Where is he going to find a bride willing to jilt him at the altar on such short notice?
And Whips Up a Little Love. Ella Hope is an actress happy for any paying gig, but jilting a hottie in public isn't what she had in mind. Still, she needs rent, and he's in a bind. How hard can it be? While playing at matrimony, suddenly their intimacy isn't so fake. Ella can't help but fantasize that Carson is her groom and they will live happily ever after. REVIEW 4 stars--MISADVENTURES OF A BACKUP BRIDE is the fourth installment in the multi-authored MISADVENTURES anthology series of novellas. This is billionaire, candy company owner and CEO Carson Frost, and actress Ella Hope’s story line. Each installment in the MISADVENTURES series is a stand alone, and can be read in any order.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ella and Carson) MISADVENTURES OF A BACKUP BRIDE follows the fake relationship between billionaire owner of Sweet Darlin’ Candy Company Carson Frost, and struggling Hollywood actress Ella Hope. With the recent death of his biological father Carson Frost became the sole owner and proprietor of the Sweet Darlin’ Candy Company-a company over extended on funds, and struggling to survive. When Gregory Shaw, his competition and rival at Dulce Lama makes an offer Carson cannot refuse, our hero finds himself engaged to a woman (Kendra Shaw) he does not love. Enter Ella Hope, Hollywood actress, and the woman Carson hires to be the woman he truly loves. What ensues is the insta-lust/love relationship between Ella and Carson, and the potential fall out when Gregory Shaw get wind of the ruse, and forces our hero to go through with a different set of wedding plans.
MISADVENTURES OF A BACKUP BRIDE is a story of one man’s desperation to save his father’s business, and one woman who struggles with a future originally designed for someone else.
The relationship between Carson and Ella is one of instant attraction. Our couple previously met six month earlier but since haven’t spoken to one another. The author quickly reveals some of the individual backstory and history of our leading couple, as well as Ella’s struggle between her head and her heart. The $ex scenes are numerous, erotic and provocative.
MISADVENTURES OF A BACKUP BRIDE is a fast paced, spirited and energetic novella. The premise is engaging but predictable; the romance is passionate; the characters are charming and inspiring.
Prijateljica i ja dogovorile smo se iz zafrkancije početi čitati knjige iz serijala Misadventures i krenule smo s ovom jer smo u knjižnici odmah našle svaka svoj primjerak. Lijepo sam ju uspjela dodati u oba čitateljska izazova u kojima sudjelujem ovaj mjesec. A onda sam počela čitati...
I joj! Uh! Što da kažem o njoj.
Prvo, prijevod je koma. Nedavno sam čitala jednu drugu knjigu koju je prevela ista osoba i ne kužim kako uopće ima posao. Jaaako je loše prevedena. Umirala sam od smijeha na riječi kao „batina“, „dušica“ ili „mačkica“. Užas!
Što se tiče same knjige, super se brzo čita. Romantična laganica, na trenutke skoro pomalo pornografska. On je bogat, ali u škripcu, ona glumica koju plaća da mu pomogne, ali ona se unatoč sebi zaljubljuje u njega, negativac je apsolutno proračunat. I na kraju jedan veliki kliše. Nije kraj moga biti sretnije posložen nego što je bio. Znaaam, imaju takve knjige svoju publiku, al eto ja ne spadam u nju. Totalno cheezy.
This was my first solo novel to read by Shayla Black. It was pretty good. I'm not really a fan of the rushed, insta-love method used here, but their physical chemistry was on point. Also, the conflict presented made sense with the storyline and the way it was resolved worked out.
I also wasn't a fan of some of the moments in the hero's pov. Just the way his character was written in some of the beginning scenes had him coming off as a douchebag, frat boy type, which is ironic considering he was trying to get out of marrying a sorority girl.
I liked that the characters owned their feelings, lustful and emotional, without shame or being shy.
Overall, this Misadventures story was pretty good. I'd give it 4/5 stars.
