Jamie Beck welcomes readers back to Sterling Canyon, Colorado, where a disgraced but charming ski instructor falls in love while trying to redeem himself.

Folks in Sterling Canyon know that small towns have long memories. Two years after the DUI that injured a pedestrian, Andy Randall is still making amends. He hopes the Christmas spirit will help him get rehired as a ski instructor, but that job will come with conditions. He can’t afford another mistake, which is exactly what making a play for his former boss and friend, Nikki Steele, would be.

Nikki races down double black diamonds and hikes mountains better than most guys, unafraid of tumbling down the slopes. But trusting the guy who once shot her down could end in a fall that actually hurts, especially when she’d have to vouch for him with her boss. Still, the resort needs another instructor to handle the holiday tourists, and Andy’s sexy grin and relaxed charisma make him hard to resist.

With both of their reputations now on the line, can Andy convince Nikki that the second chance he wants isn’t only about the job?

Joyfully His is book #3.5 in the Sterling Canyon series by Jamie Beck. This is my very first book by Jamie. I think that it might have helped if I had read the previous books in this series since I didn’t know any of the secondary characters but even though I haven’t, I still was able to enjoy this.

Two years ago Andy Randall was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He injured his now brother-in-law and has just now finished his probation. Sterling Canyon is a small town and the residents still look at Andy in a reproachful way. He’s afraid that the town will never forgive him for his lapse in judgment. Andy was a ski instructor before the accident. But the ski lodge has strict rules about hiring anyone with a criminal record. He really needs the job and they give him a probationary chance. But if anything goes wrong, he will lose the opportunity.

Lindsey Vonn © Samo Vidic

Nikki Steele runs the ski school at the lodge. Nikki has had a crush on Andy for a long time but never let anyone know it. Now with Andy as an employee, it would be completely wrong for her to act on her feelings, wouldn’t it? She’s never been good at reading signals so she’s not sure if Andy is showing interest in her or just being friendly.

Lindsey Vonn

Of course, a jealous employee and an old ski student/friend with benefits rock an already unbalanced boat and make things even more rocky for Andy. I actually felt terrible for him at times while I read this. He knew he had made a mistake and had paid dearly for it. But the townspeople truly would not let him forget it.

ski instructor

Both Andy and Nikki are dealing with self confidence issues. They are definitely good for each other. But they need to trust each other before they can decide if they have a future or not.

I enjoyed this little Christmas short story. As I said above, I think I would have enjoyed it more if I knew who the other characters were. Still, it was sweet and sexy and just right for a happy little holiday read.

Finally Andy's story! I have been waiting to finish this series. Miss Beck does not disappoint me.

Her story even it is short, is full of moral messages. In Joyfully His, the main issue here is trust. The character' conflict is written well without being OTT dramatic.
I only wish Miss Beck made this into full length novel.

A quick and entertaining novella about two people with issues falling in love. The best thing about the book was Nikki's self-esteem issues and Andy's shame over a past mistake rang true. The worst thing is the Stock Art cover. I get that using a stock photo is cheap and easy but the stock photo should be true to the characters and the story. A snow man? Really? And the models look nothing like the descriptions of the characters.

I know.

I'm being pedantic.

But covers are a sales device. They are very often the single reason I'll decide to read or not read a book. So dear authors, sell your book...do it well...but be honest.

Joyfully His by Jamie Beck is a heartwarming and enjoyable read.

The storyline was entertaining all throughout the book, the writing is well done and the characters were likable, relatable and I loved them together.
I enjoyed watching Andy and Nikki's relationship unfold, they made me smile, they touched my heart with their inner battles and they made me swoon.

Overall, Joyfully His is a sweet and heartwarming holiday read and a great addition to the Sterling Canyon series.
Each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.

I was really happy to back in Sterling Canyon. I was even happier that we were going to see an HEA for a man that I really felt sorry for in past books … Andy Randall.

See, I believe in second chances. I also believe that people who make mistakes, own up to their mistakes, take responsibility for the mistakes, really, truly do deserve a second chance. I am thrilled that we are seeing this with Andy because his remorse shines through, not only in Joyfully His but in Accidentally Hers (Sterling Canyon 1) when we first meet him. But, it’s hard in a small town, people remember, people judge and some just can’t let it go. He’s hoping that his past friendship with Nikki and his work ethic at the Ski Lodge is enough to get her to give him his dream job back.

Nikki feels so much guilt for what Andy is going through. If she just put her pride aside, he wouldn’t have had the accident that is causing so much grief in his life. She goes to bat for him because she knows that he deserves it. She also tries to lock down her attraction to him, to no avail.

Looking back, Andy knows that his accident was a mistake but, turning away the sultry and intriguing Nikki was an even bigger one. He knows how confident on the slopes she is but, her confidence in her personal life is at an all-time low. He also knows that starting anything up with her could also jeopardize his job and hers. He can’t help himself when the opportunity presents itself. But, one jealous woman and he knows that he could never be the person he was before the accident in the eyes of the people of Sterling Canyon and it’s killing him that Nikki falls right into that category as well.

I loved how Jamie Beck wrote Joyfully His. She showed hope, pettiness, support and love all wrapped in a beautiful package. In the end, she showed us just what forgiveness and regret means. The story was uplifting and entertaining, fun and flirty. The perfect read for a cold winter night sitting by the fire.

Joyfully His is Andy's story. It's short and sweet.

If you are a fan of this series you will already know who Andy is. This story can be read as a standalone. However, it features some of the other chapters from other books, and it is nice knowing their stories.

Two years ago Andy was driving under the influence of alcohol and injured a pedestrian (Accidentally Hers, Book One is the victim's story). Now Andy is trying to put the past behind him, and pick up the pieces of his life. He loved being a ski instructor, and he just wants the chance to prove himself. His priorities have changed, and he is more in tune with what he wants.

Nikki has always had a thing for Andy, but she always thought he wanted to be just friends. He asks her to help him get back on the snow, and she is willing to help. She is Andy's boss, and he knows he can't afford another mistake. Nikki and Andy have always been close, but something has shifted in their friendship. Andy needs a second chance, and Nikki is his perfect fit.

4 Stars out of 5.

For some reason, this isn't considered a full number in the Sterling Canyon series but I think it is the perfect closure—if Beck has really decided to part with them. But don't worry, this is short but it works well as a standalone.

We finally get to learn Andy's happy ending. The only number I still haven't read is the first but his unfortunate accident that led to a DUI has been mentioned in both of the sequels. Considering his twin sister and his victim are the protagonists of the first, I'm sure that's the key plot that started the whole thing. So yes, we're finally into Andy's solo story.

Even after a three-book-worth time and his parole coming to an end, Andy still suffers judgment from people in town. But he decides to be brave and takes his old job back at the resort, undergoing a probation period until the New Year. Nikki is again Andy's boss and despite having been rejected by him before, her feelings subsist. Finally, he seems interested but it's the worst timing for them to form a relationship.

I think this is pretty much what one can expect from the summary. If you've followed the series until now, that's it. You won't regret. Also, we get to see more from all of the previous couples, it's very nice.

For those starting only now, there aren't big spoilers aside from who ends with whom. Which is pretty much a given when it comes to these types of books, no?

On the characters, Andy is a very nice who has learned from his past, wants to get on with his life but is struggling a lot thanks to how people see him now. He's not the type to get depressed, so he's doing his best to overcome the barrier. I liked that side of him, and the discussion on whether his mistake deserves to be forgiven and forgotten is very present.

Nikki is a strong woman but also very self conscious of how she lacks in femininity. I liked the backstory for the couple because it was actually credible. It's interesting how things between them keep happening at the wrong time.

Unfortunately, it's just good as expected. It simply does the job with no extras or depth, so I couldn't give more than the average rating of 3 stars. Still, know that it is a nice book if you are into this niche.

This really felt like the end of this lovely series. I can't speak for the first book but the following two were very enjoyable so I'll recommend the whole thing for anyone who likes a heartwarming but fun romance. Joyfully His can be read by itself and is quite short, right to the point. I'm sure you'll read it in one seating. Why not get a taste?

Honest review based on an ARC provided by Netgalley. Many thanks to the publisher for this opportunity.

Joyfully His: Sterling Canyon Book 4 is by Jamie Beck. This is the final book in the Sterling Canyon series. It is the story of Andy Randall, twin of Avery. Andy was involved in a drunken vehicular accident in which he hit Grey Lowell, who is now his brother-in-law. Luckily Grey wasn’t injured too badly; but it came at a bad time in his business, Backtrax. Grey had just started the business and it wasn’t doing well yet. He and his friend Trip Lexington tried very hard to keep it going while Grey recovered and before Grey had settled with Andy’s insurance company over what they were to pay Grey. With only Trip to take clients on excursions, it looked like Grey might lose his business. In the end, Trip broke into his inheritance trust to become partners with Grey.
It has been two years since the accident and the sentence for him to a year’s probation with community service to do. Andy had completed his sentence but some of the people in Sterling Canyon had not forgiven him. Except for Emma, a friend of his sister’s, who had given him a job, he would be without work now. However, it wasn’t in his fiend of ski instructor which seems to be out of his reach now. Andy is grateful to Emma; but he is disappointed he can’t work with ski instruction. Finally, he gets up his nerve to approach his ex-boss, Nikki Steele, for a job at Sterling Canyon Resort. He is hoping she believes in him enough to try to get by the rule of not hiring anyone with a felony arrest behind them. If truth were known, his felony was reduced to a misdemeanor.
Nikki Steele had been blaming herself for the trouble Andy got into. She had known he shouldn’t drive; but she didn’t stop him as she should have. Thus, she blames herself for what happened. She had also had a crush on him since middle school which also helped. She went to her boss, Bob, and he said Andy could be rehired if he agreed to random Breathalyzer tests, only take on private clients over 12 who had been clients of his before, and no complaints. It was a temporary situation. Andy took the job with great relief and humility. He would do his best.
As Andy gets back in the hang of working, his relationship with Nikki changes from friends to lovers. However, this must be kept secret until he is permanently hired. Even though many people gave him the benefit of doubt, others didn’t and they could mess up his job. Will they?

So, I just finished Duke of Desire yesterday, where the hero had a horrible scar across his face, and decided to read this. AND guess what? The heroine has a scar across her face! AND she was described as “plain” and the hero was beyond belief beautiful and in love with her. Seriously? As if that is ever going to happen. When are authors going to make both the heroine and hero plain or too plump or unattractive so the story makes more sense.

Anyway, this was about Andy, who was arrested for drunk driving when he hit Grey, from the first book Accidently Hers. Andy managed to get his job back at the ski resort on a probationary period then some chick lied about him and he was fired, again. Nikki, who was almost his girlfriend didn’t really believe Andy when he defended himself so Andy dumped her… For a little while, anyway.

It was nice to see what happened to Andy but he deserved better than Nikki.

There was one sex scene but there was not a shred of attraction, want, lust, nothing whatsoever. Publishers tell authors that sex sells so 95% of them just throw a sex scene in and call it good. Personally, I’d rather have some kind of sexual tension throughout the book than to have one stupid sex scene.

The F-bomb was used 1 time.

As to the narrator: The best part of the entire was Kate Rudd’s narration. She does wonderful voices and great emotions.

Joyfully His is a short and sweet read. If you've read the rest of the series, which I highly recommend, then you know that we are finally getting Andy's story. I've been wanting to know more about Andy since the first book in the series and I am so happy to finally get it.

Two years ago, Andy was driving under the influence of alcohol and accidentally hit a pedestrian. He is finally done with probation, trying to put the past behind him and pick up the pieces of his life. It isn't easy getting the trust of a small community back after what he did. He has always loved being a ski instructor and wants the chance to prove himself worthy. His priorities have changed since the accident and he just wants to gain back the trust and respect that he lost.

Nikki has always had a thing for Andy but thought that he only ever saw her as his friend and coworker. He asks for her help in getting his job as ski instructor back and she is more than happy to help, partly because she feels responsible for what happened. She is Andy's boss and he know he can't afford another mishap. Nikki and Andy have always been close, but suddenly their friendship has shifted into something more. Andy needs a second chance and Nikki is the perfect fit.

This was a story of forgiveness, redemption, and second chances. This is definitely a great friends to lovers romance that I highly recommend! I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next!

Andy is still dealing with the aftereffects of drinking and driving two years later. He regrets the terrible decision he made but he is finding out that most people in his hometown only see him for that one night and not for who he was before or the person he has worked hard to become.

Nikki has been attracted to Andy for quite some time but when she tried to take their friendship further it was quickly rebuffed. He has approached her for a job at the ski school she manages, and she has convinced her boss to give him a chance, but the position has some caveats attached.

As they work together the chemistry between them ignites but will it be the fresh start he is looking for both personally and professionally or will his past be too much to overcome?

Both Andy and Nikki have their faults but with trust and love they can overcome everything. I thought that the narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life.

People with money, power r horrible, they control the others, do whatever they like, telling lies n push the other in the bottom.

We all did something we won’t proud of, even hurting others. We deserve second chance, a life that we r happy. Now Andy n Kiki, what’s next Amy?

I so enjoyed going back to Sterling Canyon and I loved Andy and Nikki's story. Two years after that fateful night that changed his life Andy is trying to put his life back on track. Personally he's made amends to the people he hurt but professionally he's still trying to get back to where he was. People in Sterling have long memories though so getting them to move on isn't as easy as it sounds. Nikki Steele, his former boss and friend, may be the one person who can help. When he's given the opportunity to get his old job back he jumps at it but the new feelings he has for Nikki could be a problem. Will he work for the job or the girl??

A wonderfully done story and I was so glad to get Andy's story. I think you'll enjoy this one whether you've read the prior boos. It's message of forgiveness and new beginnings is perfect for the season. I definitely recommend it.

Introducing Nik and not having in the rest of the series provided a lack of depth to her character. It was so fast and the book felt rushed. I loved the others this was was just okay for me.

I have never read any of the books in this series, so I wasn't familiar with the backgrounds of the characters, but you really didn't need to be. It was a very enjoyable book, that was perfect as a standalone.

Andy Randall just finished his 2 years of being on probation after being involved in a DUI. He was behind the wheel drunk, hit his now brother in law, who ended up meeting Andy's sister who's a PT and marrying her. Living in a small town, gossip spreads like a wild fire, and everybody judges him for no reason at all. When he starts job hunting again, no one will give a felon a chance. Only his friend, Emma, will give him a job as a handyman at her B&B. When Andy sees his old ski instructor friend at a wedding, he mustered up his courage and asked if she can help him with a job.

Nikki Steele has never forgiven herself for leaving the bar the night Andy was in that accident. They were flirting big time and she made a pass on him, but he knew she was too drunk and he didn't want to take advantage of her. So he politely turned her down, hoping that she wouldn't remember what happened. Nikki was humiliated, in turn she watched him hit in other women. When she left, she knew how drunk he was but she was also embarrassed so she left, not thinking about the consequences of her actions.

Nikki pleaded Andy's case to her boss, begging him to give Andy a chance,. So he did, with 3 stipulations and only on a probationary period. Andy finally gives in to his feelings for Nikki and kisses her. She had no clue he liked her. They start a relationship, but keep it a secret from the staff. They are already thinking that she's favoring him as it is.

When Andy gets a request from a former student who was more than a "student," Nikki's jealousy and insecurities come out full fledged. The student is older than her, richer than her, and more beautiful than she is, how can she compete?

But when things turn ugly, and allegations are made against Andy, Nikki doesn't defend him because she has doubts about his character. Things go sour for the couple and Andy gives up and walks away from her. How can the couple overcome this obstacle?

A must read!!

My Review:
This is a quick satisfying little holiday read.

Andy has been a well-known face in the series. He's the guy who drove drunk and almost ruined Grey's life (Grey was the hero in one of the books in the series previously and is now married to Avery, Andy's twin sister.) So, anyway, Andy's been there all along. He's a guy who screwed up...but he's paid for that crime and is trying so hard to get on with his life...not so easy to do in this very small community. But the thing he misses most from his former life is being a ski instructor and working with Nikki. So he goes to her, hoping maybe now that he's served his time, he can get his old job back.

It works, but now Nikki is his boss...something that complicates him trying to pursue a relationship with her even more. For Nikki, she also has issues from that night Andy's life went to hell. She was there. She could have stopped him from driving like a responsible friend should, but she was mired in her own self-recriminations at what she saw as Andy's rejection of her. (She read him wrong...he's very much interested in her, but she'd had too much to drink that night to make sound decisions.)

So, yeah...there are a few lingering issues between the two and that's even before they try to go into any sort of relationship beyond the good friends that they've always been.

This was a fun little read. It takes place in a ski resort town over the holidays where there is tons of fresh snow and skiing. As a result, the ambience of the book is fantastic. I liked both Nikki and Andy together. The book was short and it could have delved deeper and gone a bit longer because there are some serious conflicts between the two characters that could have been fleshed out more, but this is the perfect novel for a dark, winter night to get you in the mood for Christmas. It's short. It's sweet. And you only need a couple of hours to read it.

Overall, I enjoyed it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book -- it's probably the best and most realistic one I've read from the Sterling Canyon books. As a downhill skier myself, and friends with a lot of ski instructors, I totally get the culture of skiers and I was delighted that a favorite hobby of mine -- something I could relate to -- was the backdrop for this story. I really actually liked Nikki as well as Andy (which is amazing cuz a lot of times I really feel that the characters in romance novels are one dimensional). This was a sweet love story that I could relate to and enjoy.

My only complaints: The epilogue was totally unnecessary. Not every story needs to end with a marriage proposal and a promise of kids. How about just letting me imagine that they continue to live this totally cool, relaxed skiers' lifestyle? Maybe they both want to be DINKS as many of my skiing friends (myself included) do? Marriage, yes, but all this baby stuff... I like babies, but you know, some women choose NOT to have kids. And that's okay. And it should be okay for romance novels too. This is where the romance genre loses me -- a total lack of non-mainstream lifestyle choices. So I'm just going to delete the epilogue from my mind and pretend that Nikki and Andy skied off into the sunset and maybe traveled the world in the off season to be ski bums in the southern hemisphere during the northern hemisphere summer. Or just took a lot of cool ski trips everywhere in the world like my two DINK skiing friends do.

My only other complaint is in the scene where the two were racing each other down the mountain, I think that Andy should have been the one to wipe out and injure himself. Nikki already had her big accident. Why make women look like the weaker of the athletic world. Andy was gloating in that scene about his skiing speed and prowess, which, at least in my experience, is exactly the time that you wipe out. It would have been more fun if he'd been taken down a notch or two with a harmless wipe out.

But anyway, this was a joy to read. I think that's the fastest I've read a book in awhile!

I have been anxious for Andy's story. From the previous books you know his tragic past involving a night out drinking and driving and injuring Grey, but now we get Andy's side.

Andy done something wrong, he knows that, he done the crime and completed his time.- yet others won't ever let him move on. He is mired up in their judgment and feels his every move is watched -waiting for him to mess up again. Andy is vulnerable and wants their approval and acknowledgement that what he done was completely out of character, he is very remorseful and he can be forgiven. But come on- we all know that's not how people (most anyway) truly are.

While Nikki has most always had a crush on Andy she has a hard time deciding if he is someone she can stick her neck out for and help him get his job back. While Nikki ultimately decides that she knows Andy is better than his actions of one terrible night- one that she feels she could have been a friend and possibly encouraged a different outcome- does she truly trust Andy completely?

While I enjoyed the twists and turns of the relationship between Andy and Nikki- and wanted to smack a certain manipulative ski bunny- I loved Andy's road to redemption. No matter who you think might be on your side, sometimes you find yourself alone and having to stand strong to clear your name. Then you realize you must give that same understanding and forgiveness to others that you sought out when you were in their position. I guess I didn't so much identify with the love story aspect of this story as I did the overcoming trouble and ultimate forgiveness.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. This is a solid 4 star romance.
I really like this series by Jamie Beck and have been waiting for Andy's turn at an HEA.
Sometimes being in a small town has its disadvantages especially when people can't move on and forgive someone for past mistakes. No matter how hard he tries Andy can't seem to shed the stigma from his stupid actions and the DUI he had a couple of years ago that also injured Grey Lowell our hero from the second book.
He really wants his job back as a ski instructor so he decides to ask his old boss Nikki if it is possible. She gives him a chance and seeing him again all the time reactivates her feelings for him and they act on that.
Having a relationship with his boss definitely won't be easy so they decide to keep it quiet. Only something that happens stops the relationship from moving forward in any capacity and he loses his job because even Nikki seems to not take his word making her just like everyone else.
Can Andy convince everyone he is innocent of any wrong doing. Will everyone ever cut him some slack and see that he has long since redeemed himself for his prior bad behavior?
Will he and Nikki be able to get past this and have a trusting and loving relationship out in the open? Or will Andy move away to get the fresh start he deserves?
Check this short but sweet book out for the answers. You will not be disappointed.

Throughout the Series of Sterling Canyon you learn about Andy. This is a short look into his life after his accident. I really liked this book. I was a little disappointed that Jamie did not turn this into another novel. The Nikki's character was not quite as developed as she could have been and their past was not given in the book.

Andy's main force was clearly stated and his personality came through and was totally understandable. He has always been part of the force in these books. His life is described and you get to know him and a lot about his life. He is a beloved character.

When he decides to go after a woman his reason to seek her out nor his interest was never stated in the prior books nor is it real clear why in this book it just is. I think some background feelings would have made this book more interesting. The lack of their past makes this a little too good to be true as far as she is concerned.

I like that once he made up his mind the conflict between him Nikki and Amy becomes real and completely understandable. In the end when he makes up his mind the book comes together and the outcome is truly romantic.

I have read all the Sterling Canyon books and was happy to see this one focuses on Avery's brother Andy.

All the other couples make quick appearances, and it is wonderful to see enduring love and friendship between them.

Another big theme throughout the book is forgiveness, and taking responsibility for your actions. Andy knows the accident he caused while drinking and driving was a terrible mistake. The judgement he feels from some in his small town doesn't make moving on any easier, even after he has finished probation. However, the forgiveness from those who love him and how he is determined to move forward in life and do better were inspiring.

I loved the match of Andy and Nikki. Neither is perfect, but their personalities and interests compliment each other. I think this book benefited greatly from having both Andy and Nikki's perspectives.

The book is a quick, sweet read, but I do wish the book was a little longer so we could get more of their interactions and relationship.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

"I Loved This Story" ❤❤

I loved Andy and Nikki's story; "Joyfully His, the final book of the Sterling Canyon Series." It touched not only my heart, but also the depths of my Soul. Although it's considered a novella, you couldn't tell by the abundance of EMOTION, DETERMINATION and the importance of TRUST and FORGIVENESS that was compiled within a limited amount of chapters.

With the fact you intertwined each book with all the main characters from them all, it made each one more real, more personal, to it's readers/listeners. It helped me to really appreciate the whole series. It also gave us an update on all our favorite characters.

Kate Rudd is an exceptional narrator that can be very proud of herself. The work that she has done each book in the series is nothing short of amazing and deserves every 5-⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐s that I have post in my reviews and as I will for this one too.

I definitely recommend this book and this series two others. I think it will be very ENJOYABLE and ENTERTAINING for the Romantic at HEART!!! ❤❤

Welcome back to the small ski town, Sterling Canyon. This is Andy's story...remember Andy? The twin of Avery, and the guy who drove drunk and plowed into Avery's now-hubby Grey. Andy is trying to get his life together and is on probation at his old job, as a ski instructor at the local ski resort. No one is a harsher critic of his past than Andy himself. He has always had a thing for Nikki, the manager of the ski school, but always felt as if she had him in the friend zone. He is desperately trying to prove that he has matured. An old fling comes into the picture and is causing some trouble. Will the town forget his past so that Andy can move on? Will Nikki overcome her own insecurities and give Andy a chance? Let's just say that there were times in this book when I wanted to give Nikki a good shake! I grew to like Andy in this book and glad that he finally gets an HEA...no spoilers who with ;-)
Sad to see the series end but this book gave a nice update on all of our couples.

I liked Andy, didn't connect with Nikki and disliked every other character in the book as per usual with this series. I get it Andy made a mistake that could have led to unforgivable consequences and yet no one seemed to understand how remaining in a place that never let him move on from his mistake would play with his psyche.

If Andy wasn't funny, nice and making others feel good about himself someone had to give him a lecture about how happy he SHOULD be and how he should live his life. I wanted to throat punch pretty much everyone.

And I really disliked the constant diatribe and rehashing of how Nikki is unable to stand by her friend and the man she deeply cares about because she just doesn't feel pretty and special. Really, I just don't care.

I'm sure other stuff happened in this book, but I give this a 1.5 because Andy was a good character throughout the series and I think he could have been given a better partner.

This story has both cursing (including f-bombs) and on-screen sex so if those things will cause you to leave a bad review, you should skip this one.

Although I still struggle with Andy as a character, this was a sweet little story and I enjoyed seeing him getting his happily ever after. The premise of this story was really great, and I loved the looks in on the lives of the other Sterling Canyon characters we have come to know and love. (I swooned for Kelsey and Trip in this one!) Although novellas often have pacing problems, this one was perfectly paced from start to finish. Nothing felt rushed or incomplete, it was just well-written from start to finish which doesn't come as a surprise, knowing Ms. Beck's writing.

If you enjoy a sweet love story based around Christmas and/or skiing, you should give this one a read. It is a fun story that will put you in the holiday mood.

I requested and was generously granted an ARC of this story via NetGalley and the publisher. I was under no obligation to write this review, I did so because I enjoyed the story.

I've had this on my Kindle for a while now and finally got around to reading it over the holiday season. I liked that Beck chose to use a female character who was not your typical beauty queen type. I do wish it was longer though. Whenever I read "novella" as a subtitle, I am wary that the author has rushed through either the storyline or the characters. This one did not feel overly rushed at all. I enjoyed the story especially during the Christmas season and will probably check out other titles in the Sterling Canyon series at some point. It was quite obvious that couples from this story were the headliners in their own. So, overall I would say that this romance held a little bit of sweet and a little bit of spice to hold the reader's interest. I'd give it a 3.5, not my absolute favorite but not too 'meh' either.

A story of redemption & second chances. Andy made a mistake & paid dearly for it. After too much to drink, he got behind the wheel & ended up hurting someone. After serving probation, he's now ready to get on with his life.

She'd been attracted to him for some time but she was his boss & didn't want to ruin the relationship. She also felt guilty because she felt she should have intervened the night of his accident & taken his keys. Instead she ran & hid with hurt feelings because he didn't acknowledge "the kiss". Can they get past this?

A good story with well developed likable characters on a journey to a new life, this was a quick enjoyable read. The author managed to bring to life Andy's feelings of being under a microscope & how he dealt with it.

Loved all the books, which they didn’t end. This one could have been longer but was good.
Andy I’d off probation and ask Nikki for a job. Nikki know it’d be tuff to get him back. But, she feels responsible for letting him drive drunk. She waited to take him home with all the flirting they’d done that night. But felt rejected. Andy alway thought Nikki was great, loved skiing as much as he did, but Nikki is now his boss. Billy keeps saying she’s showing favorites. A girl accused Andy of coming on to her and Andy loses his job, but it’s not the job that hurt him, it was Nikki not believing him. He gets the girl on video saying she made it up. Andy comes back, all is well.
