Flora Ferrari has done it again in her latest story,"Protector." The hero is brooding, ex-SEAL, Jax who has some major trust issues. The heroine, Kate is keeping secrets while being stalked but that doesn't stop Jax from possessively watching over Kate like a hawk or from them being openly attracted to one another! I really enjoyed this story because of the suspense as well as the steam factor where I had to literally fan myself! (lol) Now that the sign of a hot read that you can't put down easily!

So if you love a romantic suspense from a character who know what he wants, read Protector! You can't go wrong with JAX!

Ok, where to even start. This guy was a wannabe Alpha SEAL. He was always running into situations half cocked and and sure Alpha gonna kick butt blah blah but then he would get his ass handed to him. On a platter. Also, if you' gonna have kids in a story then do more with them and what happened to Cory his SEAL buddy? I mean SEAL dudes stick together right?
Ok so I haven't even addressed the romance or hot smoking sex...... oh wait there was romance but hot smoking sex.....Not so much. Just this guy running around getting his ass handed to him. Oh and lets not forget how he fights a bad guy with broken ribs and a fractured arm....... No way. Not believable. I guess I can say this was one of the worst of this series!

We meet hottie single dad Jax who was a formal seal but was discharged. He eet Kate who is also a single mother but unfortunately has a stalker and in steps Jake, and as the name says he is a protector and he is going to protect Kate...But also Kate has a secret that can break everything they are slowly building, will it?

If you read the story about former SEAL Cole, you might remember that he had a single dad friend, Jax.

No need to have read the series to understand the story - plenty of backstory here for what you need - it is just a lot of fun, steamy romance about an unexpectedly ex military man trying to adapt to moving from life on the teams to civilian life, and working to do it and help his new community - and a special little girl, Jasmine, daughter to Jax - along the way.

Jax is the formerly deployed Dad who is now also done with active duty, with a few injuries to boot.

And Jerry is the sweet kid who takes martial arts classes from Cole - and though Jerry is small and wiry, he steps of for Jasmine when one or more bigger boys get too aggressive on the baseball field.

Jax finds friendship, and a lot more, when he asks Jerry and his mom Kate to ice cream as a thank you.

Kate ans Jax have deep and tangled back stories that they begin to share with each other as they get entangled romantically.

Unexpected complications lead to some dangerous situations where Jax and Jerry both get a chance to show off their skills, and a friend of Jax uncovers some tech advantages that could be important to a variety of folks in the future - a future that Jax and Kate might share with their kids if they can hang onto their trust and faith - and the insights Jax encourages his friend to look for with the technology.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Kate Koval and Jax Creed. Jax has trust issues when it comes to women. First his mother left him at an orphanage when he was just 3 weeks old, his old girlfriend left him and took all his money, and finally his ex-wife cheated on him. The only good thing he got from all this was his daughter. So when she is telling him about this boy who stood up for her he wants to thank this young man. Kate doesn't date and it is rare for her to even speak with most of the dad's but when she gets a call from Jerry's karate teacher telling her another dad wants to thank her son she takes that call. Kate also has trust issues that go back to her ex-husband. Someone is stalking her though and she will do anything to keep her son safe including seek help with the new ex-seal she just met. Can these two get a HEA or will their trust issues make that impossible?

This is a great book. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will tell you this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Jax, a former Navy Seal and Kate. Jax called Kate to tell her about her son standing up for his daughter with a bully. Jax wanted to take the boy and his daughter out for ice cream. Kate agreed and when they all went out, Kate confided in Jax she had a stalker. Kate told him it was her ex-husband and he was getting more threatening. Jax told her he would protect her and her son. Jax called a contact he still had in the navy and gathered information about Kate's ex and decided it was time for him to talk to him. Jax thought he had handled the problem and Kate confessed her feelings for him. Jax had trust issues from his ex and his abandonment as a baby. Jax had feelings for Kate and had to decide if he trusted her. Jax and Kate continued to grow close, but the danger was still present to Kate and her son. I really enjoyed this book. It was a little different from the usual instant love story from Flora. This one had more danger and a longer story line. I really liked Jax and thought he really cared for Kate and wanted to trust her, even though he was not a trusting person. Something told him Kate was worth his trust, even after he learned she had secrets of her own. Good one.

Jax is very grateful when he hears that a young boy defended his daughter against a bigger bully and knows that he is in his best friend, Cole's, club. So he asks Cole if he can have the boy's Mum's number. Cole phones back to say that Kate, the boy's mum, will be delighted to hear from him. When he phones her he explains what happened and how proud she should be of him. This leads to the four of them going out for ice cream and getting to know each other. But then Kate asks Jax for some help as she thinks that she is being stalked maybe by her ex husband! This starts the adventure of their lives. Jax and Kate are brilliant together and the storyline that Flora Ferrari has created for them is suspenseful, full of drama, surprises, danger, heroism, love and romance too! There was much more of a proper story with this book which I really loved and also, of course, plenty of steamy passion. A great book that was a real page turner and compulsive! Jax is former Navy seal and when he learns that a boy stuck up for his daughter he wants to offers his thanks. When he meets Kate and her son he knows that there is something wrong immediately. Kate is scared and she is keeping secrets but will that stop Jax from being with her. When she finally tells him that she thinks she's being stalked he uses his contacts to look into it. What he finds makes things even more trickier. Can he trust Kate? Will her past end things between them before they have a chance?


This is a steamy hot story with some intrigue thrown in. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is an absolute romance with a villain or two, HEA, family matters, family complications, work environment, work complications, friends, and a whole lot of everything else neede to make a good story really good as this one most certainly is! Without a doubt this is one of the better stories I have read by this author and by now I have read quite a few. If not simply the best one jet? But at the end of the day, this is only my opinion, but I can say without a doubt that I can recommend this story for anyone who likes romances with a bit of excitement, HEA, and a lot of sweet romance to top it off. All in all really well done with this one.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Kate and Jax. He's a retired Navy Seal and loves with his daughter Jasmine. One afternoon she tells Jax his Jerry stood up to a bully for her, and to thank him, he calls his mom to thank her. Kate is excited her son stood up for Jasmine. While eating ice cream, Kate tells Jax that someone is stalking her, she thinks it's her ex. Jax takes protecting seriously. They grow closer and the chemistry starts to grow. When Kate and Jerry's lives area in danger, Jax risks his life to save them. Great quick read.

This is another great addition to the older man younger woman books that Flora writes oh so well and the suspense in this one is a little more intense than normal

Jax is a medical discharged former Seal and a single dad he is very suspicious of all woman but he has taken to Kate a single mum When Kate has a stalker he steps into help but is all that it seems we will have an entire alphabet of agencies involved from multiple countries and when it looks like another woman has tricked Jax he will have to revise his opinions. This book is unusual as nearly the entire book is written from the heroes POV. This is wild ride that will have you turning those pages as fast as you can

Another great read by Flora Ferrari. Jax is a retired Navy Seal raising his daughter alone after being betrayed by his ex-wife. When his daughter tells him a classmate stood to a bully for her, he wants to meet him to thank him. Kate is also raising her son Jerry alone and when she tells Jax she is in danger, he goes into protection mode. The more time they spend together the closer they become. Jax has serious trust issues and he thinks Kate is hiding something. However, his feelings are getting stronger every day. Awesome read about a man willing to do anything to protect the woman he is falling for. Definitely recommend.

Loved it

Protector is a fast paced action romance. Loved Jax and Kate. Jax, a former SEAL, medically discharged, and a single dad. Kate a single mother with a stalker. Jax steps in to help Kate out. Things aren't what they seem. A ghost from Jax's past threaten his future with Kate. Kate has a secret that may destroy Jax's trust. Jax doesn't trust easily, especially women. Great ending. A sweet epilogue. I loved Laura, who had Jax back and made his HEA with Kate possible!

A slide into second base....

It all starts with a slide into second base. What starts you ask? A story with plenty of suspense, twists, turns and lots of steam. I have read several stories by this author and this one is so different from any of them. While most are insta-love, May/December, Alpha male stories, this one reads more like a love/suspense novel. I truly loved Jax and Kate's story. Actually, this may be my most favorite story by Ms. Ferrari.

A story about letting the past go and take where fate brings you for your HEA. A very well written story with nice storyline and plot.
The reader is thrown right into the drama in the first chapter and I like that. The reasons and descriptions comes later. A mix of bad guys, conflicts, coincidents, kidnapping, protective guy, secrets, lies, love and emotions. All gives this story a lot of action but also makes it a bit confusing at times.
A very enjoyable and captivating read that keeps the reader on the edge at times.

This great book is full of action, suspense, twists & turns and of course, some love, romance and a little bit of spice. The characters are colorful and have a level of depth to them that add intrigue and emotions into the storyline. You can't help but get engaged and want to see what happens next. You fall in love with Jax and Kate and can't help but want the HEA. Great read and always looking forward to the next one.

This is not the usual short insta love romance I usually read from this author. It is longer, action-packed with lots of ups and downs, twists and turns, suspense, secrets and very erotic. Strong characters with chemistry that is off the charts. This book is twice as long and is packed with twice as much excitement. Definitely recommended.

Loved this story! What a thrilling ride with this SEAL! This is a little different than books I have previously read from this author. It's an intense story involving the FBI, mafia and spies. I enjoyed this story and the characters. I loved Kate and Jax as well as some of the secondary characters. Great chemistry between Kate and Jax. I loved their kids too! I enjoyed this story with all it's twists, turns, action, mystery and suspense plus some added steam.

The title fits the man. This story is 70% suspense and 30% romance. ExSEAL protects a woman from a mysterious danger and ends up with much more in his hands tHan he imagined.

I liked the way the story progressed. Both characters have a kid, so there’s parental pride and camaraderie between them at the start. The plot takes an interesting turn when his heroic instincts kick in to protect this beautiful damsel in distress.

I think the narrative has a fast feel to it, sharp. Sometimes the dialogues, though fitting to the situations and gripping, felt a bit cold in the emotional department because there was no description of feelings and physical expressions interspersed in them.

The suspense part relies heavily on military issues and intel with connections to crime and the characters’ past. It’s edgy, dangerous, and is delivered in a focused and practical fashion. The man tries to save the day though he’s plagued with trust issues, too.

Action-filled, full of layers of deceit and secrets that seem one thing but are another, this story proves to be well thought and surprising until the last page. By the way, those last pages felt like Paradise ;-)

Jax has trust issues, all the woman he let in his life burned him. Because of an injury he had to retire, he was a Navy Seal. He meets Kate after her son stand up for his daughter. Kate asks for his help with a stalker but she has secrets she's hiding. Can Jax protect her and can they find love? Can Kate win his trust? The story is fast paced and kept my interest. I loved it and the characters.

Another great story in this series about an older man/ younger woman. Jax a former SEAL who was medically discharged is a single dad. Kate is a single mother with a stalker. This is a good book. Jax has trust issues with women and when Kate needs his help he starts to have doubts to her true intentions. There is so much more going on then Kate thinking it’s her ex husband harassing her. This book is worth the time to read

Una historia sin pies ni cabeza, la primicia fue buena pero luego todo fue un completo desastre. Loved this story!!! Suspense, action, romance this has it all! Jax, a retired SEAL is asked for help with a stalker by Kate. But all is not so simple and things aren't always as they may appear....and can Jax trust Kate? Great ending!
