When my ex showed up and dumped a kid on me, my whole life turned upside down.
First thing I have to do is get myself a babysitter. I’m a high powered lawyer, what do I know about kids? Especially when it comes a kid who’s just been abandoned. So when I bump into Jade, my old neighbor, I take it as a sign. Back then, she was studious, quiet, a real good girl who took care of her siblings.
Now Jade is about to graduate college. She’s still smart as ever, but she’s got a smoking set of curves to boot.
I should have known better than to offer her the job.
I should have known better than to make her stay late.
And I definitely should have known better than to go in without.
She’s a great babysitter, but I just know she’s going to be the perfect mom… for my baby.
Lila has spent her whole life in the PNW, where rainy days kept her inside with a book. A lover of the written word, she can’t believe that it’s taken her over twenty years to get around to writing a book. She’s always believed in love at first sight and happily ever afters. When she isn’t working on her stories, Lila likes to bake and hike in the mountains that make up her backyard.

Rough start. Kind of confusing. I didn't connect with this couple at all. I felt like Carter wasn't really a hands on dad and that bothered me. I like my hero dads to be very active with their children and he pretty much left everything up to the h. This did have some steamy scenes but you'd think he would've learned how to use a condom after having a child he didn't know about sprung on him.
Lila Younger is a bit predictable with her novellas but let's call a spade a spade....these novellas are really here to serve one purpose :) There isn't much "meat" to her stories but again....purpose.
Carter suddenly realizes he has a child and before he can even process that his ex up and leaves his daughter Luna in his care without even telling him. As much as Carter loves his daughter he's only just met her and has no idea what a 4 year old needs when he bumps into Jade in a Target parking lot, he use to live next door to her parents a when he first finished law school. Jade helps him gather everything he would need for Luna and he offers her a part time nanny job when she informs him she's taking a semester off of school. Things escalate from there very quickly between the two of them.
A bit lame on the meet cute...he lived in the duplex next door from her when she was a teen??? Hummmm...ok. Forgets when her cycle is...for like months...naaa.
I LOVED Carter & Jade !! I really understood where Jade was coming from and wow-Carter packs a single dad punch! Their forbidden love story wasn't really so forbidden , but more emotional and rift with yearning. Carter wanted Jade but the specter of her parents and of everyone finding where he could lose his child caused some cause for concern but they stood strong in the face of everyone disproving . I have to say, this was one fast paced, highly sexual and charged forbidden romance novella. I really didn't want to stop reading--I wanted to read more about Carter and Jade. Carter had me when he cared more about his daughter than work. And Jade had me when she cared more about Carter and his lil one than her rigid parents and college. This is one in my keeper pile of ebooks . Cannot wait to see what this author has next!

Carter suddenly finds out he has a 4 year old daughter Luna after her mother disappears one day, totally unprepared for this development he employs Jade as her babysitter. Both Luna and Jade sneak in to his heart and he suddenly realizes how much of life he was missing out on.
Jade is looking for a job when she meets Carter and Luna shopping, a little down on her luck both the father and daughter steal her heart. She can't help but want to be a part of this little family. She never expected to fall in love.
Jade, is coming off a tailspin, of a school year. Not only does she have a controlling mother, who likes to micromanage, her life. Her mom also likes to, blame her for being the only one, to tell the truth. Instead of praising her, for telling the truth. While, all the rest of the girls, in the sorority, her mom forced her into, joining lied. Jade, is made the example because they make it out as if, she is the one, who has done, what is done.
Now, she back home with her parents, living in a hostile environment, being told she needs to find a job. No free rides, for her. She is told flat out by her mom. So, she is putting out apps left and right but while she is at, Target putting in an app for, Target and Starbucks, a little girl runs into her, full-on. Knocking off her, tiara. Right away, Jade bends down, and addresses her as, Princess Belle, she is in costume. This averting, a meltdown. She straightens her tiara asking if she is okay Belle, nods.
When the girl’s dad arrives, and Jade looks up feeling, she goes weak. Before this moment, she has always found it hard to, look at anyone in the eye, but especially the male gender. All stemming, from her awkward years, during her formative years, and finding it hard to make friends. But, staring at who she finds out, is Carter, and the little girl, Luna’s dad. With further discussion, she finds out, he was once their old neighbor. She finds herself, very attracted, to him.
Carter just recently finds out he is a father. It is a shock, but one that grows on him quickly. As time moved on, with the visits, Luna’s mom, becomes more unreasonable. Harder to contact, and pinpoint. One day, on their visit, while having lunch, she up and left without telling Carter or Luna that she, is skipping. This is the day, Jade, Luna, and Carter all meet. Carter asks for, Jade's help buying, Luna everything. She came, with nothing. And so, it began.
I enjoyed this so much. The characters felt real. Luna was a hoot. Carter truly fell for Jade as much as she fell for him. He was so supportive of her wishes. Allowing her to make her own decisions even when he saw the train wreck coming.
His Virgin Babysitter is the story of Jade and Carter.
Boss x employee, babysitter x employer, insta attraction cause he didn’t seem like he was obsessed, like I felt that he was only with her for sex but that quickly changed and triumphed all my assumptions about him because he really did love her. So I would say insta attraction but it quickly would change into insta love by the third chapter. She gets pregnant and I thought he was going to be mad but then he was ecstatic and he really is a good father but the mother of Luna, Stacie and also Jades mother were really unsupportive bitches and I get that Jades mother just wanted what was best but couldn’t she have been a little nicer about her daughter who was in love and a baby on the way? UGH I HATED HER BUT WE LOVE JADE🫶🏼.
Carter, Jade, and Luna's story will steal your heart. It's everything I love in a book.
Jade's moving through life on her families dream, not her own. That dream causes a problem in the beginning of the book that puts her on the path she was actually suppose to be on.
Carter is a workaholic up until he becomes an instant dad to precious, Luna. He never knew he had a child until one day there was Luna. She's a sweet child.
Carter never got properly introduced...or something, because I did not warm up to his narrative, at all. The connection between the two, nonexistent, and the speed with which they go from introduction (a previous acquaintance, never again mentioned) to intimacy, is dizzying. The epilogue also failed to satisfy. It's a mostly miss on this title, save the cute child, and connection between the woman and child.
I have read this and other books from this author and I love all her stories so far, I just wished that the stories were longer, like this book, I would gave loved to know what was the sex of the baby, how Luna was going to take it with all the good changes going in her life, how their little family was going to be, the inpact on the decisions they made, if Jade’s parents got back in their lives etc
His Virgin Babysitter is a short, sweet, sexy taboo story of twenty something Jade and her former neighbor Carter. Carter is a lawyer working tons of hours in hopes to make partner when he discovers he has a child. Carter runs into Jade at a department store and that is where their relationship begins. This story is a fast paced, lust to love story which I enjoyed.
Steamy hot short romance. She is young and wit a heart bigger than her, he just got his daughter and needs help. It all starts too fast but also too true to a love story. Loved it!
This was a pretty well-rounded read. There was more plot to this one than I am used to seeing in a novella. It had its good points and some I think could be improved on.
Good was the chemistry between our couple. There was a nice amount of passion in the lust-filled relationship. It wasn't just a quick and dirty romp in the hay. It was about a woman who needed a direction in life and a man who needed someone to break him from his workaholic nature. They were good for each other.
On the other hand, I thought the relationship development could have been shown rather than just implied. We know they get to know each other but it's mostly behind the scenes. We see the couple learning how to handle the child but not necessarily how they would handle each other (outside of the bedroom).
I would have rather seen more family scenes than hear about our leading lady's stuck-up mother and her issues with the pairing. Maybe if this had been a full-length novel, I would have expected to see that. But my criticism is minor in the scheme of things. Overall, it was a good story.
This was an insta-love story with the hero being a lawyer, who suddenly finds himself in custody of a daughter that he only just found out about. The little girl is precious and when her mother abandons her to her father in the middle of a restaurant, he has to find a babysitter ASAP! Luckily her runs into an old neighbor at Target, except that she's all grown up now. When he finds out she's looking for a job he offers for her to be his nanny. The girls parents aren't happy that she's moving into his house and when she becomes pregnant they shun her. It has a nice ending.
Received as ARC in exchange for an honest review. Jade and Carter were a great couple with amazing chemistry. They ran into each other by chance and that completely changed their lives for the better. The book had a great plot and I very much enjoyed reading. The characters were great together and Carter's daughter was very adorable. Jade is tired of trying to do as her parents wish and just wants to be happy while Carter is working hard to continue his successful career meanwhile taking care of his daughter Luna. All in all this was a great book, so I would very much recommend it especially if you like quick reads with low angst.
“His Virgin Babysitter” is another wonderful story from Lila Younger! Always professionally written, Lila’s stories never disappoint. Low on angst, romantic with heat, “His Virgin Babysitter” offers insta-love/lust with an engaging story-line, likeable characters as well as a satisfyingly sweet ending. I highly recommend all of Lila’s novella’s whenever you’re in the mood for a quick, spicy, sweet read (18 and older of course)!
