Dragon Unleashed

Rate this book
Every dragon hoard starts with something…or someone.

Tomas hates scientists, especially since they abused him in such vile ways. And yet, there is something about the doctor that calms his inner beast.

Tomas craves her, even if she’s human. A treasure for his collection, but can he convince her to stay in his secret aerie?

Chandra is frightened by the dragon keeping her prisoner in his rocky tower. After what he's been through who can blame him for the madness within? However behind the arrogance and anger, she sees a glimmer of goodness too. Can he open his heart enough to let her in, or will he unleash his fury upon those who wronged him?

Humanity is learning dragons don't just exist in fairytales, and a prophecy about a golden dragon rising is gaining momentum. A war is brewing and the dragons must choose sides.

An enjoyable paranormal romance with plenty of action that moved right along. The banter between the hero and heroine was entertaining with both of them being so domineering. It was nice to see previous characters in the series and the hint on the next couple sounds interesting. Dragon Tomas is drugged then captured and scientist Chandra investigates a secret facility.

Dragon Unleashed is the third book in the Dragon Point series. This one is about Tomas, a dragon being held captive, and Chandra, a scientist who we got a glimpse of in the previous book. I loved their first encounters together, as well as their hilarious banter. Tomas was downright cocky, but it never felt like too much. It was clear his feelings for Chandra meant he couldn't ever be too full of himself or selfish. Chandra was a great heroine, strong willed and brave. I liked also that she had a different background to many other heroines these days.

This had great action, was very hot and while the end to a certain character did feel a little lackluster, I still look forward to what is next in this world Eve has created. I absolutely would recommend to paranormal romance fans.

This book just has all the recipe for my enjoyment.

1. An ridiculously, arrogant Dragon who thinks he's a god's gift to humanity.
2. A feisty woman of color, like hell yes!
3. A great chemistry between the two main characters.

It just worked for me. Absolutely loved this book. I might re-read this again soon.

The story didn't really start until about 40-50 pages in and only remained typical Langlais entertainment for about 50 pages before it took a nose dive into the Did Not Finish/Regret pile. The writing in terms of the technical aspects was fine, my issue with the story is the characters. I felt from the beginning that Langlais didn't have a clear idea of the Tomas character or that she was losing interest with this series. Aside from a brief flicker of interesting character, by page 120 or so, she turned him into pathetic emo-dragon. Not in a cute way, not in a funny way--more of a 'seek therapy' way. I'm sure he gets to a 'happily ever after' by the end and maybe I could have tolerated him like this if she hadn't also taken the Chandra character from being an interesting, intelligent, strong woman and turned her into a spineless, utterly pathetic twit. The 'counseling' session was the last straw--I didn't bother continuing the story after that scene. Chandra discloses what she knows is private information that Tomas hasn't shared with anyone beyond close family to her friend, Marisol (the worst characterization of a therapist EVER). Calling Marisol a therapist to justify Chandra blabbing someone else's secrets was a lame justification. She dished details about Tomas to her BFF, a horrible betrayal of Tomas, not to mention how cringe-worthy her character became over the course of that scene. When I began actively disliking both main characters, I quit reading.

Dragon Unleashed by Eve Langlais

Dragons exist! In the not so real world created by Eve Langlais. This is the 3rd book the the Dragon Point series which comes after the Bitten Point series.
Paranormal romance on the humerus and light side. It can be read as a stand alone but should really be read as part of the series to fully understand and enjoy.
Irreverent and silly but so much fun to read.

Excerpt:
“Everyone had lived in ignorant bliss until the day Parker decided to thrust the existence of cryptozoids upon the world. Shifters first, then the fairies and merpeople. Tomas even heard rumblings that dragons were coming out.
The craziness. Was nothing sacred anymore?
More noise as material crinkled. White fabric moved in to view, and Tomas flexed his fingers, wondering if the person would move close enough for him to have some fun.
A scent caught him, deeply exotic, making him think of the heated desert sands and spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg. Delicious.
I want it. Craved it. He couldn’t help but sniff again.
The uncontrollable interest took him by surprise. I need to slow down.
No. Smells yummy, he argued with himself.
He wanted a bite. Roasted was normally his choice. Nothing better than crispy skin to crunch. But in this case, he settle for nibbling the spice scented skin.”

This one was one of my most anticipated book but not with the right characters, I like them with some sparks.
But all dragon seem to be a bit well dragons.... and we get to meet a male dragon, pure one with the courageous doctor.
In the end, I found it a bit rush but the end just tip my curiosity. Seemed like that this one just open up to the real purpose of this series. I just hope for me silver! yeah humor is good!

Unlike our h, I'm full Pakistani and let me tell you, incorrect, shotily researched representation bugs the shit outta me.

I am dropping this on principle only. Also, I don't wanna ruin the oh so lovely buzz my last book has me in.

FYI Eve, "daadee" is what you call your paternal grandmother ie. your father's mother not your mother's mother.

Tomas is such a flirt, “I’d like to put my best into you.” Said with a wide smile." Tomas doesn't appreciate when his woman's attention is not on him, “I’m being ignored for the news. There is no point in my strutting naked, showing off my assets, if you’re not going to admire them.” I liked this book, I loved seeing Tomas and all the other dragons.

This is the third of the Dragon books, each novel following on after the next, and this was the penultimate instalment.
Parker is still up to his machinations and has kidnapped scientist Chandra, and a dragon.
Both escape after the events that affected the lab in the previous book, and there the chemistry starts to sizzle.
It's the usual fayre: villains, deaths, sex, romance, dragons, plotting and a punchline that ends this book, which can be read on its own, leading into the last one.
I enjoyed it as usual, though with this one, an almost final scene with Parker disappoints, as it comes out of the left field with no forewarning.
Still, a solid, fun, enjoyable read leaving me looking forward to reading the final book.

Tomas and Chandra were at odds from the moment they met, but they also had a connection from that same moment. Confusing to them both, yet, they kept keeping themselves together. The attraction between overriding all their common sense, they had some great banter! More of the mystery of the series unravelled and new bad guys emerge. Spot on narration to cover both characters, you could easily hear their emotions and thoughts <3

Thomas, a dragon archeologist, has been kidnapped from his dig in Egypt. And since that exciting turn of events he's been experimented on in all sorts of ways. Chandra has dug her nose into Parkers business one too many times and now she's paying the price. Given the task of studying the most violent prisoner in the facility neither Chandra or Thomas expect to actually like each other.

I loved this story, in true Eve Langlais and Dragon Point style we've been given a story with comedic undertones. Thomas is a dragon with a hoard that's a little different, and in what has become normal dragon style, the world revolves around him and events only occur because he allows them to. Chandra is a woman with many facets, the more I got to know her throughout the story the more I loved her. Together their story is full of action and some twists and turns I honestly didn't see coming.

Marginally better than the last one. Not good enough to make me want to continue this series. I think the world building has taken a turn for the not-enjoyable since book one of Bitten Point. This whole mad-scientist doing experiments on unwilling victims is not fun to read about, and the "alpha" protagonists have been more asshole than alpha lately. No means no, no matter who is saying it.

Another winner. The main character was so arrogant I couldn't help but laugh my way through the book. The sex was hot, and the story line captivating. I loved it. Eve Langlais is incapable of writing a book that I don't enjoy LOL.

My review and an extended sample of the audiobook are posted at Hotlistens.com.

So this has been a fun series. I’ve really enjoyed learning more about the dragons in this world. In this story, we learn about black dragons.

Tomas is an archaeologist and a professor. He is also an Obsidian dragon. He is all colors and no colors. He has walked away from all the septs. He didn’t like that they wanted to use him as a breeding stud. He also did wanted to get close to anyone after losing his parents and siblings to a bad car wreck. He was raised by his grandparents who are still living, but he doesn’t speak to them (he thinks it will be easier to deal with their deaths if he keeps away). He was captured by Parker (a wolf shifter and the main villain of this series). Parker was keeping him in a lab and was trying to run experiments on him, but they needed him to shift, which he refused to do.

Chandra is a human and a scientist (a biologist specifically) who works for Lytropia Institute. She knew something was off about the company. When she starts poking her head in places where it doesn’t belong, she finds herself a prisoner, herself. She is forced to take samples from Tomas. She quickly realizes that he isn’t human, but she doesn’t know what he is.

Chandra has her own issues with closeness. She is married. It was arranged by her parents (as many people have in her culture). She, however, wanted to focus on her career. Her husband was okay with that, because, he too, didn’t want the marriage. He is gay and didn’t want to tell his family. It did leave Chandra wanting. She is still a virgin.

So this was another fun story by Eve Langlais. Tomas is what you think of as a dragon. He has his horde, though it is much different than many others. He that he covets because sentimental value more than dollar value. He has the largest amount gum he was ever able to chew at one time. He also had a turkey he made with a print of his hand when he was a child. He is also arrogant as you can get. He thinks he is the best thing ever.

I enjoyed this installment. It isn’t my favorite story in this series, but it was still fun. I would’ve like a little more story. I found the part when they were captive a little slow. After they escape, it gets better. It does leave me wanting to know what happens in the next book. I want to find out how this all ends up with for all dragons. Tomas pretty much forces them out of the closet, though they have been getting closer to that before Tomas’s little rage.

Narration
Chandra Skyye continues to narrate this series. She does a good job. She does several voices for both men and women. I do think she did a really good job with Tomas’s grandmother.

* You need to have read the previous books to fully enjoy this story.

The previous novel ended of on Chandra trying to find the man with the glowing green eyes in Parkers laboratory and in this instalment she finds him. Tomas is a blackscaled, arrogant dragon who is done being held captive by Parker. They break out together and they start falling in love, but the world is in turmoil after the revelation that dragons excist and Parker left them with a little suprise after their stay in the lab.

Pro's:
+ This entry in the series is definitely better than the previous 2. It is as if the author herself loved these characters more than the previous ones. Both main heroes were written very good and comprehensive. Even the story flowed a bit better than in the previous books and there is even a well written set up for the next book.
+ The lore behind the existence of dragons is more explained in this book and it is nice to have a better view of the world in ther perspective.
+ Chandra is just a human, but she has balls the size of skippyballs. She is incredibly brave and the way she stands up for herself is actually quite well done. This is not a long novel, but the amount of growth she goes through is really well done.

Con's:
- ( MINOR SPOILER) Parker dies in this book, but the death should have been way more epic as the 5 lines it got now. The fucker has been a menace in at least 2 books and then he gets killed of in 5 lines of text. Such a shame.

This is the first entry in the series that I truely loved, it is fast-paced and really comprehensive. Recommended and lookng forward to the next instalment.

The third book in the Dragon Point series continues the story of our heroes in scales. Tomas has been imprisoned by the evil Parker, who is intent on learning his secrets and getting his DNA. Chandra is in the wrong place at the wrong time, and is forced to do Parker’s bidding.

Sparks fly as soon as Tomas and Chandra meet, but neither is willing to trust the other. As events unfold, who will rescue who when the facility is compromised? With the dragons revealed to the world, the pair must do whatever it takes to stay alive, figure out what Parker’s plan is, and take care of the bad guys. The Silvergrace family joins the fray against Parker, and the fight is on!

Will Tomas open his heart and allow himself to care for someone? Or will old wounds make him miss out on a future with Chandra? Will they ever be free from the machinations of others?

Excitement, evil deeds, romance (an unusual one), and more to anticipate!
Chandra Kashmir is an interesting character. She's independent, well educated (a research biologist), married (sort of), finds herself mixed up with an arrogant guy (Tomas, who's in a cell), and in a whole heap of trouble!
Sir Arrogant? Well, he is a scholar - an archaeologist, he has issues developing close relationships, he likes collecting treasures (dragons do that), and he is beginning to think Chandra is a treasure! What follows is a thrilling ride dealing with the mad mastermind and his minions (and falling in love, of course). I find myself chortling throughout! What Tomas says to Chandra and what he thinks to himself, reveals a very conflicted fella. Ms. Langlais has a way with words and a sense of humor that doesn't quit! I'm looking forward to more dragon goodness (soon, please).

It's a good day when a dragon finally meets his match! You have to read this one!
I loved the way Tomas and Chandra pitted wits against each other all the way through the book. I laughed so many times at the things they said to each other that I'm sure that my family is questioning my sanity. Their characters are perfect one for the other, and the action that leads them together is a lot of fun to read to. This is the third book in this Dragon Point series and the quality is right up there with the previous two. The action in the fight scenes are easy to picture and were well written. I am wondering what side Samael is on and if Parker's niece is just being used, but maybe that will be resolved later. I loved this book and the characters in it, I think you will too.

It's review time 🎧
Warning ⚠️: shifters, experience, from alligator to dragon i will refer to this series as a whole because I listened to it as such.

Narrator score🎧 ; the narrator was good, she kept a great voice during the whole series.

Level of steam🔥: each book was quite hot, you had some slower pace and some faster but overall it was hot.

Level of anxiety and sadness😱😢: well you had some drama in some books more and in some less.... I couldn't feel a lot of sadness because the stories went in a fast pace but you had some drama.

The book itself📖: I think this series was fun. Its a world of shifters that was already created and its an after series so to speak... the first book reviled us a new species and the dragons world was quite interesting indeed, you had some interesting characters in this series. The first couple was cute and so were the others. A very nice series indeed

I love the attitude of these dragons, the world revolves around them.
Whilst I enjoyed the banter and silliness of this book it just didn’t hold my attention like other books from this series.
I was getting a bit fed up with the Parker situation and love what happened in this book but talk about anticlimactic. I was just HUH.
Cannot say more without giving away the story but didn’t expect that.
I loved the interaction between Thomas and Chandra, they were so funny.
Interesting ending, cannot wait for the next book.

Freaking awesome!
I stumbled upon this book and took a gamble reading it, seeing as how it is book 3 in a series.....man oh man am I glad I did! I loved the witty dialogue between the H and h. Tomas was so wonderfully arrogant and proud of it! And Chandra was great! I will be sure to continue this series.

One of my favorite lines in the book (and there are many!):
“What you need is your head shoved up your ass because, apparently, you refuse to see how full of shit you are.”

A new twist in the plot.

We find out what happened to the good doctor, and who was in the pit and how, to top it off, they managed to escape.

Unfortunately irreversible things have already been set in motion.

Thankfully we see that crazy Theo Parker get thwarted at last.

But now there's new crazy in the game.

Can't stop reading these books. While not cliffhangers, they do inspire one to keep reading to see what these delightfully arrogant dragons will get up to next.

Well unfortunately neither characters really drew me in, yes he was rude and arrogant as a breeding dragon that many wanted and she was just a human female scientist the one we met in book 2 that went missing. Just there personality’s felt lacking.

He was being held captive for 3 months but according to him it was a vacation & he rescued her from that place well he tore it to the ground.

Her being a virgin was not my favourite storyline

I have submitted this review after listening to the audiobook of this title within the series set box. (Audible Membership)

They were both captives, so they helped each other escape. However, the difference between dragon and human was hard to overcome. Except for the bond that had attached the first time they encountered each other would not let them truly leave the other behind.

I didn't enjoy Dragon Unleashed as much as I did the previous book but it was still a good read that including fun, quirky characters, good sex scenes and much humour. Exactly what you expect and want when you read an Eve Langlais book.

Although, I was a little dispointed about Patrick being so anti climatic.

DRAGON UNLEASHED is the third in Eve Langlais’s Dragon Point series. Doctor Chandra Kashmir has recently had a number of revelations that upended her universe. Several of them involve Tomas, a prisoner in the lab she is unable to escape…. One arrogant dragon, one determined scientist, the end of the world as they know it…
