Shifter Untamed: Aspen Valley Wolf Pack Book One ~ New & Lengthened 2017 Edition
From the co-author of the bestselling Caedmon Wolves series comes a brand new wolf shifter paranormal romance set in the world of Aspen Valley. Shifter Untamed is Pack Alpha Dane Magnus's story.
Dane Justice Magnus fought for and won the position of Pack Alpha, but to legally inherit the land left by his late human mother, the shifter needs to marry a human. His plan is easier said than done, especially when not just any woman will do.
Trina Daniels needs six figures to pay for her dad's surgery. Money she doesn't have. She's willing to do whatever it takes. Even if it means pursuing drastic measures, such as entertaining a scandalous, but lucrative offer by the womanizing Dane Magnus.
One steamy night leads to another. With the mate bond intact, there’s nothing either of them can do to tame their luscious desires.
But when outsiders begin to threaten their lives and their chance at happiness, they only have each other to rely on.
The poor editing is really distracting from the story.
Kind of an unpleasant read as the editing quality is really poor and distracts from the story quite a bit. The heroine isn't too bad, but the hero treats her like an object.
I liked Dane and Trina together. They had that attraction that you could see from the start. Trina didn’t give in to easily and I loved her spunk. The action that was added into this book towards the end was detailed enough that I was able to picture it. It’s a short read so I can’t give to much away but it was an enjoyable, fast paced read with a different take on shifters and mating. 4 Stars #2OCCJD
Got 36% of the way through this novel before i had to put it down. The plot idea was a bit intriguing. I've read novels like it before, so I was hoping there'd be a fresh twist on it. But there were just too many instances of poor grammar or misuse of words like "feigning" which means to pretend, which is the exact opposite of what the sentence was trying to convey. There are factual inconsistencies - she's "worried" about where the money for her dad's surgery will come from, even though she's already got the whole bit in her hands per their negotiation.
Then there's danger, of course, which isn't resolved very well. Then the female character flies off the handle b/c he didn't tell her he was Alpha, and her snit causes her to be unprotected and vulnerable to kidnapping. DUH! She's been in life threatening situations twice since meeting this guy, and even negotiated the terms of their deal based on the danger they would face, but she thinks she can just run off and live by herself for the next 6 weeks? He was being perfectly reasonable about his information sharing based on a need-to-know basis. she's known all of two seconds that their relationship is a bit different than planned and she's throwing a tantrum b/c of the alpha thing? So cliched. Then she's kidnapped. ugh. Since I can pretty much write the rest of this novel based on shifter novel cliches, I'm done reading it.
Shifter Untamed introduces us to a shifter world where the laws for humans and shifters are far from equal. Often times wrongs are never righted when others use these laws to their own advantage trying to in effect steal from shifters in a totally legal way. This is the situation that Dane is facing right now. In order to keep property belonging to his parents and by rights to him out of the hands of the state and the human developers who want it for their own uses, there are requirements that Dane must meet. Right now. He needs a wife. Temporarily, at least, for about six weeks and a few days in order to fulfill the requirements to keep his property. He’s willing to pay handsomely for a wife for a short period of time, with a lot of stipulations for both of their protection. So far his search isn’t working out very well – but that is about to change due to one woman’s desperate love for her father.
In recent years Trina’s world has been turned upside down. Where once she lived in the big city with a demanding job, now she’s returned home to care for her father and run the family small business. A car crash took her mother’s life and made life changes in her father’s life. His medical bills are sky rocketing and without insurance ti’s up to Trina to find a way to pay for a needed surgery. Her need for a second job that pays well has placed her at an adult nightclub, applying for a server position – and will place her in danger that night. While waiting for the interview she sees an ad on the wall for a temporary wife and stores that information in the back of her mind if this doesn’t work out. She will encounter Dane this night, and a man out to do harm to those in the club. Her life is about to become very interesting, and perhaps place her in more danger than she ever thought possible.
Shifter Untamed is an intriguing story with threads that appear will be woven throughout the series. The author states that these stories can be read in any order, but I’ve listed them as Amazon has in an order that I plan to follow… you, of course, do not have to. Isn’t free will a wonderful thing. *grin*
Dane and Trina make a sexy couple and almost immediately they feel a draw between them that goes far beyond the temporary arrangement they’ve agreed on. There are definitely steamy, sexy moments, yet there is also an interesting subplot that brings danger not only to this couple but Dane’s wolf pack as well. I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out during the series.
If you enjoy mystery, intrigue and sexy times, then you’d like Shifter Untamed and the Aspen Valley Wolf Pack series. I would definitely recommend this one for any Shifter Romance reader who enjoys a good story, a likable couple and interesting secondary characters.
It’s possible that you may have read some of the stories in the Aspen Valley Wolf Pack series a few years ago. Several of these stories have been lengthened and now are available as novellas in the series, instead of short stories. I am reading them for the first time now, so I cannot offer any comment on what has been revised or lengthened from the original. My thoughts are based purely on the story I’ve just read. I mention it (and the author does as well) because often times with a new cover we won’t pickup immediately that we’ve read a story before. I am very much a visual, recognize the cover, type of buyer / reader so I mention it in case you are too.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Trina is in dire need of some extra cash. Her dad's medical bills are piling up and their family business is just not pulling in enough cash. But is a sleazy nightclub really the place she wants to work? During her interview she sees an ad for a temporary wife. But isn't that just this job, selling herself (and her dignity) for money?
Dane needs a human wife to secure the property that belonged to his grandmother. But when he saves Trina at a nightclub he can only hope that any potential temp wife can have the same impact on him that she did! When she replied to his ad he can't believe his luck. But as they grow closer and danger begins to mount Dane finds himself hoping that this temporary arrangement becomes permanent!
Family secrets and distant relations are making life hell for Dane and Trina. I loves how Dane just accepted Trina and her dad as a package. The wee sideline friendship between Trina's dad and Dane's cook/cleaner is really sweet too. The bedroom scenes rock and the storyline has a bit of bite!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book
Dane is the Alpha of the Aspen wolf pack and is in desperate need of a mate to save some family land. Trina is struggling financially and accepts a proposal from Dane so each gets what they want. Little did they know they were destined for each other.
This novella was an adventure. It was filled with action, drama, and passion. Both characters were likeable as well as the secondary characters too. Loved the setting and can't wait to read more of the Aspen wolf pack.
Only issue to this novella was a few errors. Not a turnoff but made me laugh. Example: He moaned aloud and cupped the back of her head with his tongue. bahaha...
This book has action, steamy romance and has you on the edge of your seat. Trina is a very likeable character as she is trying to find money to help her disabled father so she goes out on a limb and agrees to be a "temporary" wife to Dane, Alpha of the Aspen Valley Wolf Pack. Little did either know she was his mate. But there are some obstacles in their way which they do overcome. I loved that it seems her father and his new caretaker (assigned by Dane) Marcia are getting along famously. I bought the paperback and it does have many typos.
Dane needed a human to be his temporary wife so he could keep his mother's land. Tina needs money for her dad's medical bills & to keep the family business afloat. Dane & Tina didn't expect that their temporary marriage would turn into what it did. Trouble for Dane's pack threatens it's stability & his mate. Can they make it through all of this to a happy ending?
Another awesome Shifter series to add to your reading list!
I really enjoyed this novel from the Aspen Valley series!! I enjoyed the story line and how it connects to the other books!! I especially enjoy the steamy love and the scenes!! I’m totally addicted to this series about wolves!! I’m an aspiring writer my self and I think people are being picky about the grammar lol so what a couple wrong misspelled words Amber Ella u did your thang gurl keep going!! ❤️❤️😜
This is the first book in a great series of books. i did things outta order but it really dont matter. all books are standalones with a guaranteed HEA. It does help if you read the books in order. you get more of the story of how the alpha meant his queen. when i start reading these books i can't put them down.
Getting to know each other was a good thing till her father stuck his nose where it didn't belong. They told each other her broken engagement and him coming back home when his grandmother died. Couldn't keep them apart she found him anyway.it was meant to be.
The Justice brothers are wonderful. The stories of Dane Justice and Trina, and Nina and Raoulf Justice were both really good and makes you wish you knew these terrific brothers. Then the sneak peeks of Garrett and Brock Justice also of Luke Kent promise to be just as good. I look forward to continuing to read about the Aspen Valley Wolf Pack.
I love Alpha stories. This story is one of my favorites. The way Dane met Trina was awesome. Their chemistry was on point, humor, sass, ego, arrogance, confidence and mystery. They had it all. I love Dane' s candid way of life. Trina was very much like a reporter who wants to live a quiet life. Their intimacy was some real power play.
Story of a "normal" woman who gets what she wants and needs in the end. I love the wolf pack book, and enjoy the different ways the interactions are portrayed. Good short read.
This was a good book. The characters are great and different. The plot is good and fairly different. I found myself anxious to get to the next page and sad when it was over. I highly recommend this book
I was kind of disappointed about the first story of Dane but the second story of Garrett was so much better! Would have gotten only a 3 rating but the second story let it become a 4.
Heroine really TSTL she way over reacted over the the stupidest thing then ran and got captured 🙄. I was enjoying until then. I thought she was a reasonable smart girl. I was greatly disappointed. I won’t continue the series there is much better out there.

I downloaded Shifter Untamed as a free 3-novella collection from Amazon. Fairly predictable, with weird grammar errors, and three similar stories with different characters. Not a bad read, but no surprises.
Short read but okay, I was looking for more of the paranormal side of this but they seemed less magical then other reads. The lack of supernatural abilities took away from the read, overall it was okay.
That was a really good book. Looking for a job to help pay her dad medical bill. But she had found more that that. You to read this book to found out what kind of job she gets. You may be surprised.
For me this first story in the series is great! It was a really good read and I absolutely loved the characters that the author created for it. 🎉💖💗👏 I will read the next story as soon as I can.
I read this after the 5th book in the series and found it to be much better. It was also a bit odd that this was the bonus book for the 5th book in the series.
