Things to never do during work: Drink too much. Flirt with a billionaire prince. Sleep with him. Get pregnant. Whoops. Forget love at first sight. Fairy tales never talk about lust at first sight.
Or how spending one night with the biggest jerk in the world could be the biggest mistake of my life. But Prince Henry of Dubreva is just like the rest of the jerks I’ve had a one-night stand with.
He broke my heart.
Never again.
Instead, I’m focusing on what’s really important in life. Like my career.
But then my ex-boss Jessica Croft offers me a job I can't refuse, and I move to Dubreva, where I’ll inevitably be put on a collision course with Henry.
This entire time, I’ve been trying to get a certain prince with tattoos and a hot accent out of my head.
But Henry hasn’t forgotten what happened between us.
And once I find out that I’m carrying his secret baby, I won’t be able to as well.
My name is Cat Goodwin. And this is my unconventional happily ever after.
The Royal Mistake is a complete, stand-alone novel about a damaged billionaire prince and an accidental baby. It's the perfect for beach read for fans of contemporary and billionaire romance with just the right amount of steam and a guaranteed HEA. If you love feisty heroines and the billionaire princes who love them, you’ll love The Royal Mistake.

This is a standalone in a series that feels like it should have had the other books read first. The character developement wasn't really there, though the MC weren't 2d. They felt incomplete, like there was more to them that we should have known. The same for the secondary characters. Also, total spoilers within the book of prior books.
That said, it was cute. Insta-love, simple, not much in the way of angst. Cute. I went into it wanting simple, and got it. I do wish it'd been more obvious story wise he was a prince. For all his story, he could've just been any famous race car driver. The only thing that made him a prince was because it was told, not shown.
Yes! This series keeps getting better. While Phillip and Jessica's story is still my favorite - this one is equally awesome. After the ending of the last book you are left wondering how Cat and Henry will come to be a couple. They do in a splendid way - there is so much heart and emotion that you can't stop reading. Loved it
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it
I've been enjoying this series so far and this book was just as good as the previous ones. This series follows four princes of the small island nation Dubreva as they each find their happy ending. This book is Henry's story. To be honest I wasn't quite sure at first if I would like Henry as he seemed a bit of a daredevil type of character. And then there was the fact we already saw a glimpse of his romance in the previous books and I just wasn't sure how it all was going to work out. But I shouldn't have worried as the author handled it all really well!
The story starts with a sort of prologue were we get to see what happened between Henry and Cat when they met, this even takes place during the previous book and that was a bit jarring, but after that it jumps forward and we see what's happening now. It worked nicely as we know what happened to them back then and now got to see how they find their happy ending. And that first scene where they meet was an essential part of their story and I am glad we got that part as well.
Henry wasn't my favorite character when I met him in the previous book and I was much more curious about Ferdinand, but I thought the author wrote Henry really well. The wreck he has been has changed him and he's struggling both mentally and physically. It also felt like it caused him to revaluate what he wanted in live and finally stop running. It was great to see the character change and it felt realistic how he had to deal with the aftermath of the wreck.
I did like Cat already in the previous book and it was fun to get to see her point of view. I hadn't realized that pregnancy would play a big part in this book as that's usually not my favorite trope. But again Erin Hayes handled it really well. I liked how while these two had some things to work through there wasn't to much drama or angst or miscommunication going on. It was a gently paced romance about two character finding their way back to each other and figuring things out.
These two were fun to read about and I liked how they worked things out. I was happy with how Cat told Henry about the pregnancy early on in the book and how they didn't get dragged out. And there are some great scenes between these two as they get to know each other a bit better. I thought Henry and Cat were really food together and I loved the scene where they ended up getting Chinese food and visiting a special spot!
There are also some appearances of the previous main character and of the next main character Ferdinand. which was a nice touch. It was fun to see how the other were doing now and I also liked how closely this book connected to the previous one as we had both met Henry and Cat there already and the couple from the previous book also plays a role here too and we see how they are doing now.
To summarize: This is a great romance read! I have to admit I wasn't sure if I was going to like Henry and how this romance would work out, but I ended up really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written how Henry struggles to recover both mentally and physically from the accident and also how he had changed as a character. And he was so sweet to Cat, I loved the scene where they ended up getting Chinese food, it was so sweet! Cat was a great character and I liked how she was honest and open with everyone and told Henry about the pregnancy early on in the book. I also liked that we got to see a bit of the main characters of previous book and the main character of the next book. The Royal Mistake is a light and fun romance with little drama that also touches on some more serious topics and I really enjoyed it.
Prince Henry is used to loving life on the edge as a Formula 1 driver, however, an accident during his home race has had him face surgeries and lots of rehab/physiotherapy. He is a fraction of his former self. Not only because of the crash but because he can’t stop thinking about the woman he met at the ball before the race.
Cat is back in New York and hating her new boss after Jess was forced to step down. She’s been dating Dominic and taking things slowly, especially as she can’t seem to get a certain racing driver out of her mind. Not least because she finds out that their one night stand at the ball has left her pregnant.
A job opportunity with Jess comes just days after she finds out she is expecting. Flying over for a week to see whether it would be the job for her, big move etc. Also leads her to see Henry again and tells him about the baby. Not taking it as well as he could have leads to them have yet another misunderstanding. Soon Henry realises that he needs to pull out all the stops to make things up to Cat and to be part of his child’s life.
Love this series. They are standalones but supporting characters crossover from previous books. Best to read in order for best effects. We get to know billionaire & race car driver Prince Henry. A sweet novel with humour that is enchanting with a captivating plot & compelling characters. I highly recommend reading this enteraining novel & series as it's a fabulous read. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series about Henry's brother Ferdie. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
Ah! Erin, you did better with this one on the steam factor. I wish I’d had that for Eric, oh well! Definitely liked Cat more than Jessica. Again, just when we get to coupledom it was over. Can we have 30 more mins of reading?
I’m psyched (pun intended) to read about Ferdie. Gimmie it!!! But, wtf?? The OM in this story was legit. No OM asshole here. Where is Dominic’s story? Please tell me there is a Dubrevian princess in hiding somewhere!!! PLEASE?!!
The characters are funny, loveable and sometimes downright crazy. So fast ghee princes have had the most amusing ways of meeting their partners. Very enjoyable, sassy and easy read. Now on to Ferdinand. Wonder if he books up with Allison?
A fabulously fun story. This was a fantastic story to read. Loved Cat and Henry, their great characters in a wonderfully written story. I really enjoyed reading about them and would highly recommend it to everyone.
Henry and Cat's story was just as nice as Philip and Eric's stories in this series about the royal cousins of Dubreva. I recommend this story and the others in the series. (I voluntarily reviewed this free ebook).
Again, liked the characters better than the plot. In this series, I really enjoyed my time getting to know each of the characters and I appreciate the fact that Erin Hayes wrote a series with each of the princes as the central character.
This was a pleasant surprise. Most billionaire stories are so far fetched that you cannot related but this was very true. All the feelings are written beautifully by the author. I can’t wait for the next one in this families series.
Have loved all 3 books in the series so, think this might be my favourite 😊 Love how all the characters in the books all interact in each other's stories, CAN'T wait for Ferdinand's book!!!
O livro é bom, até o ponto que a personagem tem uma reação tosca ao príncipe defendendo ela. Eu curto plots como esse é sempre me divirto então não esperava menos. 3.5/5 ⭐️ 3.5/5🌶️
Prince Henry is still reeling from his accident and all of the injuries both physically and emotionally when he sees Cat and his heart stops. Cat on the other hand is visiting from New York after receiving a call from Jessica. She has just found out she really needs to talk to Henry for the first time since their night together. Once again the American ladies are shaking up the royals and it is fun and emotional. Another really good read from this author that is fun and easy and so worth it as we heal with Henry and wish for Cat and hold our breath for them both.
That was so sweet romance. I adore Henry, but i fell in love with Cat. A prince and personal asisstant? Can it work that razy as we think? I can promise a lot of funkcji, misunderstoods and love! Great prince romance, can't wait for Ferdinand story!
No mistake here...The Royal Mistake deserves way more than a 5-star review! I loved this book--it's crazy good; makes you laugh out loud at some of the things going on, and you get to revisit Dubreva...AND watch Prince Henry and Catherine Collins get their HEA. Erin Hayes sure knows how to tell s good story with all the finer details...don't miss this one ! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️
This series is wonderful. Such a good character in Prince Henry, who is so full of himself!! Cat has to work hard for everything she gets. These two meet after quite a few drinks and have a one-night stand, never expecting to see each other again. She gets the dream job she wants, plus more, and he re-evaluates his life after he almost dies in a car crash. This is another great story by Erin Hayes, with characters you want to get involved with, and a story you are going to love. I'm recommending this book because I know you'll enjoy it.
Prince Henry and Cat meet and after more than a few drinks have a wild one night stand. The next morning he is his usual pompous racing car driver self and Cat leaves to go back to New York and continue her focus on her career. When Jessica (Cat's old boss) invites her to Dubreva to work for her again she meets a recovering Prince Henry after an accident and he is is determined to rekindle what happened between them that night. Her news of 2 pink lines on a stick add to the complication of the whole situation.
I loved this story. The story was very involved and complicated in the situation between them as well as their own stories. Everything was well written and the emotions were very clearly described so that I could feel them myself. I was definitely routing for them both and that they would be able to sift through their thoughts and feelings to reach the conclusion I wanted them to get to.
