If you've ever seen the Des Hommes et des Chatons Tumblr page you'll know exactly what to expect from Men & Cats. It's an entire book full of pictures of hot guys and cute kitties, which in my opinion is pretty much the perfect combination!
There are some absolutely gorgeous photos in here and I love the way they are paired up so you have a guy and a cat in a very similar pose. My only slight complaint was that some pages have a lot of white space around the pictures, I'd have liked the images to be a little larger to reduce that but it really is a minor thing and not enough to cause reduce my rating.
Men & Cats is a hilarious coffee table book, my friend and I giggled the whole way through it but there may also have been a small amount of drooling too. With pics like these who could resist?

This book was given to me for my birthday, and I'm pretty sure it was created with me in mind. It makes me smile. I get like, two pages in and I feel better. I love it so, so much.

Maybe I’m not the intended audience, or maybe just jet-lagged. While I found some of these pictures cute and somewhat inventive, most of them were just cringe-worthy-creepy. (I should think twice about “reading” in a gift shop)!

Is this a completely ridiculous concept? Yes.
Is it hilarious? Yes.
My friend got this for me as a gag gift and I surprisingly enjoyed it. The left hand page is a stock photo of a man and the right page is a stock photo of a cat in a similar pose. I spent a good half hour giggling over the funny/cute pictures. This makes a great gag gift for your feline loving friends.

Well, it's literally pictures of the titled content. It's not really funny or inspiring, just basic pictures. Shoutout to the marketing team? The only thing I got out this "reading" adventure was the there are erratic finds in those little Take-A-Book-Leave-A-Book donation boxes, giving your day a little bit of spontaneity. So shoutout to them.

Have you all seen this Tumblr? Basically it pairs a picture of a handsome man with a picture of a cat doing about the same thing. A good friend of mine linked me to it a long while back. Together we ogled the cat pictures and the good looking men with same level of concentration. I mean, cats and hot guys; what’s not to like?
Obviously I’m leading up to this book, Men and Cats. It is the Tumblr, except in book form. I like reading books better than I like looking at things on the internet so it has that going for it. Plus again, it’s pictures of dapper men and cats. No arguments from me. The 113 pages are full of images of hot men and cats.
The downsides are that I do like books to read. This one is all pictures. It’s fun to flip through. There is some novelty to it and its very cute. Surprisingly though, I can only look at so many pictures of men and cats in bow ties before the shininess wears off. I think the benefit of the tumblr is that you get one a day and it’s a new beautiful picture pairing that you admire and then scroll past.
Really, this is an art book. It would make a perfect coffee table book. The pairings are absolutely perfect. The cat and the man exhibit the exact same pose or expression. They reflect each other and the choices by the authors are very impressive. Plus, bow ties are cool.
Still, I’m a philistine. I’ve never really been good at art appreciation. I just end up feeling like I’d rather be reading a novel. That’s the way this book made me feel too. Like, “this is cool, where’s the story?” Then there’s pictures like the one below. Logically, I know the picture on the left is supposed to be sexy. However, all I can think is that no one stretches like that and he looks supremely uncomfortable.
So all in all this book is fine. There’s nothing wrong with it. It is exactly what it claims to be and it does its job very well. It turns out that looking at one or two men along with a similarly posed cat is entertainment. But for me, if you have an entire book of them it gets boring fast. I’ve always been more of a dog person.
This would be a great Christmas gift for the cat lover in your life. I can definitely see this book making people smile. Plus it would be a surprise present; the one they didn’t even know they wanted. I love those.

Do you ever get tired of looking at pictures of sexy half-dressed men and adorable internet kitties? If your answer is yes then Men & Cats is probably not the book for you. But if you could spend hours sifting through sexy half-naked male models and pretty felines doing evil, funny, and/or cute things then you should definitely keeping reading!
Each time you turn the page, there is a yummy man-candy on the left side and a cute kitty counterpart on the right. My only critique is that there is so much white space that could have been utilized in the placing of the pictures. It seems like a waste when the pictures would have looked yummy blown up as well. I could be wrong – I’m not exactly an expert, but it just seems like a waste. :)
How can you resist these yummy photos? My all-time favorite is the coffee shot. I honestly can’t say which one is more yum, the kitty or the man…. Mmmm!
Intrigued? You’ll have to buy the book if you want more! Men & Cats would make a great gift for the holidays and it is a book you’ll want to show off! I for one am planning to showcase it on my bookshelves one I have the space but it would also make the most eye-catching coffee table read.

What an ingenious combination that works! This is another popular blog that has released a book. At first I thought it would be cute pictures of men posing with cats, but it's actually pairings of hot men oozing sex appeal paired up with a cute cat or kitten in a similar pose. The pairings take it beyond just pictures of hot men or cute cats, with the comparing between the pairs and the odd juxtapositions of sexy and cute. The pairings actually make feel less like I am ogling the men. I've shown several people who were charmed by the pairings, too, who would have probably felt more self-conscious and sleazy if it was just pictures of the men. The book has a classy feel with a short introduction and no text, so the focus is on the pairings. This is supposed to be the authors' favorite 50 picked for the book, and they definitely picked out more professionally shot photos. Their blog has a wider range in picture quality. I wish the book would include the story behind the concept or how the picture pairing process happened (did they do their own shoots or how did they select photos, etc). Their blog had an interview they did for the release of this book, and they look for pictures on the internet to pair or people send pictures to them.

This book was a lovely gift. It has no words, and is exactly what it says on the tin; each two page spread is one attractive man, and one cat, with some kind of similarity.
I enjoyed it for what it is, some good photography of men and cats. I found myself turning each page into a competition, mostly the cats won on cuteness, but there are definitely some sexy men to make you go ahhh, and well as the furry awwws.

So wrong, yet funny, then it makes you cringe again. If it was Women and Dogs, women everywhere would really hate it. Flicked through it in 5 mins, shaking my head the whole time. Awful really, yet can't look away! Not sure why anyone would buy it.
