Beautiful actress-model Jane Seymour affords delightfully detailed instruction on the ways and means of achieving a truly romantic lifestyle by celebrating the fine art of surprise and romantic risk-taking. Full-color and black-and-white photographs throughout.
This is one of the funniest books I've read in a long, long time. It's not supposed to be funny...but oh man did I laugh. This will certainly not be the last time I purchase something just because an actress is humiliated by its very existence.
I have looked for this book all over and cannot find it. I read it years ago after finding it on my stepmother's bookshelf. The cover showed a young Jane Seymour, in a gorgeous flowing gown. All I remember is that Seymour said she used to make her own clothes because she didn't like what she found in the store, and she talked about her mother in glowing terms, that she and her husband had purchased a real castle in England or Ireland or somewhere. I would love to revisit the book and see if it still enthralls me as much as it did the first time.
Jane Seymour said - in an interview many years ago - that she had 'to gag' when she thought of that book... That piqued my curiosity. I found it and started reading. Honestly, I struggled. More than three pages per day was my limit. After that, my mind started screaming STOP!!! I love reading, but this book is so utterly silly (not to say 'stupid'), that I fully understand Jane's 'gagging' reflex.
What a great writing voice! I love Jane Seymour and her sweet romantic ideas and way of life are beautifully told throughout this wonderful book. Made me feel like I stepped back into time. Also has photos of her and her beautiful home. Lovely book!
