There are some really cool female characters in here. Unfortunately they all get killed right away and we are left to endure the annoyance of a psychotic, nymphomaniac, twit. The main character, of course, falls in love with her. -_- I would have given this more stars but she tanked my enjoyment of this so hard that I just can't.

Best Zombie Series

If you're looking for a fast, entertaining, apocalypse book, this out. A rival to"Z War", and equally as fast paced. The characters are done and interesting. The plots are well developed and within this genre show real imagination.

Nick is just happy to be a part time soldier with a fulltime family, but one insane doctor only carrs about her research funding. Some when she intentionally lets zombies escape Nicks dreams are shattered. Caught in the wild. Ducking cannibals and zombies he uses his military training to survive. Afte rescue he goes on to establish the first irregular scouts team, and then his wars starts. I am enjoying these books but all my writing instincts are howling. The mission don't always seem to have a point the nods to other writers od the genre is nice but out of place. What is clear is he has some good background or reseach in the military foot soldier ans they weapons and gear of the 90s.

JF has a military background that is obvious, and it makes his characters that much richer because he nails the military day to day grind, the pressure of being in command and the mission of a scout team. I was a scout platoon leader for an armor battalion and I can tell you he nails the scout mission exactly, you don't go out to fight but when you get into one many times you find you have no support or coms with anyone. You are on your own just like the SGM and his merry band.

He was also spot on in what would happen if something like this went down. No power, no fresh water, no food readily available not even to mention the undead, cannibals and local war lords when everyone goes tribal. The adjustments in weapons was interesting to deal with the undead mainly.

Overall, a fast paced, exciting read. You will not get bored with this one.

I'm certainly a fan of Nick Agostine, now that I've caught up on his adventures. This is one of the most realistic portrayals of zombie apocalypse aftermath that I've read.
If there's more coming, I'll be reading it.

Good story but bad proof reading!

I enjoyed the story throughout all the books, but some of the books had very bad proof reading. Paragraphs were repeated, names and genders of characters were wrong, many words mis spelled.

EDIT

A good read but serious problems with editing that definitely took away from reading. It seems that the author was in too of a hurry to get the books finished.

This omnibus apocalypse series is surprisingly good. I wasn’t expecting this bundle to be so entertaining and so well written considering the number of volumes and the price. The characters are wonderful, the narrator excellent; Talon Beeson reminds me of Ray Porter. Brit is a hoot; her bold personality brought a smile to my face many times throughout the novel. I had high hopes for Brit and Nick. I can’t possibly review ten books. All I can say is that this series is great. I definitely recommend this series, especially if you can get the omnibus edition.

I originally read the entire series separately as they came out. It's so nice having them all together in one collection now. This series is a must read for anyone who considers themselves a fan of military zombie fiction or zombie fiction in general. The series is a perfect blend of horror, post apocalyptic survival, hard military fiction, with some science fiction thrown in to boot. Give this book a read and I promise you wont leave disappointed.

War is hell. A war with the undead is worse.

This is an end of the world, non-stop military focused action adventure that is written by a military vet who has been there and knows what he is talking about. If you thought you could wait till a lull in the story to put it down till later, forget it, there are no places where it slows down. This is what REAL war looks like, and a war with the undead has very few winners, and the end of the world has fewer.

Excellent!

This story was a lot of fun. The characters were really well written and fun to get to know. There was a ton of action and these folks couldn't stay out of it no matter how hard they tried. I'm so glad there are now more books in this series so I can enjoy more adventures with this team.

Bad, bad editing

I give you five stars for everything ( content, characters, theme and plot). EXCEPT: grammar and spling. Kinda screws things up, doesn't it? Also, this 10 book thing... Can't get it to load in my FIRE worth a damn. I have to keep switching to another machine. Keep writing; I love your stuff. Just find a good proofreader, Please.!

Outstanding!!!

John Holmes entire series in one kindle version is one of my all-time favorites. What I hate the most and the only bad part is that I've finished it.
Awesomeness to the end.

The main stories (3 books) are really well done. The other short stories, by other authors, are of varying and indifferent quality, but the main novellas are well worth the investment
