Reread 2.28.17 - Still believe it's a great prequel to hopefully an awesome MC series. The sequel is out.. so check it out!
Okay... the ONLY reason this is getting 4 stars instead of 3 is because it is a prequel and sets you up for the second book that I believe comes out at the end of February. It has HFN ending so this book doesn't leave you hanging for anything other than you just want more from these characters. I got the sample to try first and was completely hooked off of the prologue. I immediately bought it, but it was different than I originally thought. This is a prequel that is full of sex. Lots of sex. Lots of sexual tension. Just a lot of sex. It does not have story development past the prologue; it does not have character development. It has sex. While I liked it, I was wanting more. I am hoping that more comes with the subsequent book (I do think it will).
Possibly the start of a great new MC series...??

I am not a fan of the MC genre. I don't actively seek out books in that particular genre. However, Nancy is one of my top five fave authors. Her ability to convey in such an immaculate manner through her writing convinced me to try this story.
The main characters Josh and Tish have known each other forever. There is a 19-year difference and due to circumstances in the story, they are finally acknowledging certain aspects of their existence.
Although I'm not a fan of the MC life style or the taboo age trend, this story is immaculately written. Characters are strong, scenes are believable, and the sex is hot enough to make a happily married woman jealous!

This is a good start.
If you want down and dirty loving with a extreme dirty talking biker this is your story to love. You have to be ok with a big age difference.
Josh is one dirty talking man with tons of dirty thoughts. He is one possessive guy. He is kinda hot if you like that.

I was very fortunate to receive ARC for an honest review. I love Nancy Haviland's Wanted Men series(Russian Mafia) so this series is very different being MC. This book has a lot of hot sex, so if you are not comfortable with that, maybe it's not for you. Being said, I enjoyed the book. Looking forward to reading the series.

Blind Devotion is book 1 in the Steel Jackals series, and a novella introducing us to Tish and Josh. Their story continues in book 2. This book started off really good for me, poor Tish doesn't have the best life with her drug addicted mom and so much responsibility is placed on her 6 year old shoulders. All that changes when she's around 9 and meets her Uncle Nick and Josh from the Steel Jackals MC. Josh becomes her favorite person in the world, she absolutely adores him and eventually as she becomes a young woman her love for Josh starts changing into something more. When Josh is sent to prison her entire world changes and her heart breaks especially when she goes to visit and Josh refuses to see her. She's confused and hurt but Josh does it for her to enjoy her young life. She's only seventeen at this point.
The second half of the book is where the author loses me. It's now 2 years later and Josh is now out of prison and he shows up at Tish's home, IMO his reaction to her was OTT ridiculous. The sex scenes were so long and after a while boring, to much talking for my taste. I probably won't continue with their story because I prefer my h's to have more sass and a backbone to handle an OTT jealous/possessive male. Her adoration for Josh allows him to make all the decision and tell her what to do and she does just like a good puppy. Also the whole call me Master was a big NO for me. This story does have an age gap that didn't bother me but may bother some she is almost 20 and he is 39.

Oh my. What an outstanding read! I love, love, love MC books and this one just went to the top of my list. I can't wait for the next book. This is very common with this author's books. Totally and completely addictive and you find yourself stalking her website and FB hoping for the release date of the next book. I love her Wanted Men series (Mafia), my first series of that genre so I figured I'd love this one as well. But oh my goodness, it was just awesome. Total badass MC, such a sweet love story. I wasn't sure what I'd think about the age difference between the couple, but their story is just so great that it didn't bug me at all. I can't wait to read the rest of Josh and Tish's story and meet more of the Steel Jackals. If you love MC, download this one immediately!

This was pretty damn hot and I freaking loved the connection right away between Josh and Tish.
Haviland has delivered a great introduction to this new MC series.

I loved the mafia series by this author so when I saw she had an MC series coming on jumped on it. I would have to give this prequel a 3.5 star rating, I had to keep reminding myself that it was a prequel and more character and story development would follow. But it was a good introduction with a lot of sex and I mean a lot of sex, I am currently reading the next book and it gives a dual povwhich I like and its off to good start.

This was a pretty hot start to a brand new series from Nancy Haviland. Having been a fan of her wanted men series I was excited to discover this new baby and I wasn't disappointed.
Josh and Tish aren't your typical age gape romance. Tish is mature for her young age and I adored their friendship and hot connection right away. This was a fast introduction, I would have loved more from this story, but I hear book two kicks off with these two where it left off.
The hot scenes were hot as hell. I can't help but love an alpha hero for all his bossy qualities when he has his woman's best interests at heart.

Trish had a terrible childhood with a druggie Mom and finally landed in her Uncles MC as a child and falls for Josh. But life is rocky when he goes to prison and she waits for him. He returns and he's a possessive alpha male. Who wants to own her. Interesting book but lots of gaps in story with questions left after reading. Good thing there book 2.

So wow! This was very smutty but still endearing. There is a real connection between Josh and Tish. To me it was inevitable, although I'm quite sure it would make a few uncomfortable. Beware, there is an eighteen year age gap and he helped raise her for almost ten years but the author managed to make it non creepy and more of a understanding of the history that would help build their future. I can't wait to read book 2!

This in an introduction to Haviland's new MC romance series Steel Jackals MC and it did not disappoint, it absolutely ticked all my boxes. It's short, so there's not much MC story to speak of, rather than it focuses on Josh and Tish to set the series up ( they're in book two as well. yay )

Gaaaaahhhh! This book was sex on a stick!
I love me a taboo romance, and when it's executed so perfectly you can't help but sigh every so often while reading. Or in some cases try not to drool. This book was seriously hot I have to stop every once in a while to a) make sure to close my mouth, b) wipe any drool and c) stop grinning so stupidly I make that may warrant another "mom are you reading one of THOSE books again??!!" Ahem, anyways.
Some may not be into these kinds of books where there is a large age difference but I love them! I just love my men to well, be men. I have a nurture me complex so I think I'm kind of biased..but that does not negate the fact that this book was fantastic and super sexy as well. Now I'm on to the next book! Yippee!

Blind devotion was short and hot read that really set the scene for the next book in the steel jackals MC series. The story introduced to the Steel Jackal MC and the relationship development between the two main characters. I really enjoyed the couple in the story and looking forward to reading more of this series.
Tish O’Malley had a childhood that brought tears to my eyes and only had a few people in her life that she could count on. Trish was a strong character that I enjoyed reading about.
Josh was the hot older guy that was one of the filthiest talkers that I have read in a story before, which made me like him even more. He was a complete alpha male and he was completely in love with Tish. He would do absolutely anything for her.

Josh and Tish!! this book came out of left field. I didn't expect it to be as delicious as it was. Age-gape friends to lovers trope. SO GOOD! And a fantastic beginning to what I hope is going to be an MC series I can fall in love with. I already adore Josh and his devotion to his young queen. The man will literally do anything for her. Their love and lust was visceral and Unf. Loved it. Would have happily read more.

Not much about his MC ( but this was an intro-novella to the series so it centred more on the characters which I love )
Did I mention TISH and JOSH! I adore them both. She is the sweetest heroine and he is just Unf, my kind of alpha.
Plus, age-gap tropes are my guilty pleasure. (spoiler; I already read the second book and it's more Tish and Josh and it's hotter than anything )

This is the first book that I have read by this author Nancy Haviland.I had no idea what I was getting myself into before I started reading this book. This book is about Tish who from the early age of 6 has to take care of her mother. Sadly her mother is involved in drugs and cannot take care of herself. Tish has lived her whole life taking care of her mother and getting her through the sickness that occurs when her mother is doing drugs until one day when she is 10 years old and her mother decided to move to Queen Creek to live with her uncle who is a member of the Steel Jackals MC. Being 10 years old she was able to take care of herself but her Uncle Nick didnt think that way. That is when she meets Josh. Josh is also part of the Steel Jackals MC. He is known as the Guardian. Uncle Nick sent Josh over to sit with her while her mother is gone. Tish and Josh become quite the pair. A big strong biker taking care of a little 10 year old girl who has only known that she has had to do everything herself. She is finally able to be a kid again. Until the day when he is arrested and goes to prison for what should be 5 years. Tish becomes her own person but still lives with the feelings that she has always had for Josh.
Once Josh gets out of prison things between these two change . Will these changes be for the good or for the bad? You have to read the book to find out what happens between the two of them. I enjoyed the background that was given between these two it does help to explain the feelings they have for each other once he gets out. I felt that the events once he gets out are a little rushed but then again it is understandable.
Very well written and enjoyable. I was extremely happy that their story continues in the next book which I am reading next. Highly recommend reading this book and starting a very enjoyable series.

I found this author from a post on Facebook and read four books of the Wanted Men series back-to-back. They were some of the best mafia romance books I've ever read. Rather than start the fifth book that ends in a cliffhanger, I opted to wait until the sixth book releases before reading. Instead, I purchased this book with the same expectations as the four books I had just completed. I can't believe this is the same author. I skipped endless upon endless pages of explicit sex and couldn't find a story. I don't know why this is called a Steel Jackals MC book because there is nothing MC about this story other than the leather cuts they wear and some MC terminology such as Old Lady. There is nothing about MC business or activities other than Josh's arrest. This book is crude, crass and just way too much sex along with a missing storyline. So disappointed.

I was a little scared going in because I loved the wanted series. A Mafia genre from this author. This is MC. I am very picky with MC reads. I normally stick to my go to MC authors but of course Nancy is my favorite mafia author so I had to try to see how this turned out.
She did not disappoint. I loved it. So hot. It sets you up and ready for next book. Oh is this steamy. I loved the characters. Now be warned of the age difference. It did not bother me at all. But maybe to some.

Blind Devotion is book one of Tish and Josh's story and it's quite a story. In the beginning of this book, we are given the jist of Tish's youth, how she grew up and how her life changed when her mother took her to live closer to her Uncle Nick. Told in Tish's POV, we learn about her life and her family and the one biker who's always been a part of it without, maybe, knowing how mucha part of her life he was.
When Josh went away to Prison, because of her Mother, Tish thought it was the worst thing ever, but she's worked through her pain over it. When she discovers Josh is out of prison early, she's decided she's going to put herself out there, either he'll want more with her or he won't but she's not going to hide her feelings anymore.
But Josh isn't sure about traveling that path with Tish, not because he doesn't care, but because he's not sure he's worthy of her really and there's still much left to be cleared up between them. But Josh can't turn her down once she's thrown herself at him again, and he's doing his best to go about it the right way.
Blind Devotion combines the MC trope with a bit of taboo romance because of their age differences and how Josh is connected to Tish's aunt. But beyond that, it is a story of genuine love and happiness found when that one person and you just click and work together. Tish has known for years what and who she wanted, it just took a little time to break down walls to get it.
Though at times, it feels as if things might be moving to fast, these two somehow make it seem to work; once they finally decide to give in to their feelings, there's no holding back. As Tish learns a few surprises about things Josh has done for her that she hadn't known before, they grow a bit closer and Josh isn't willing to give up his woman.

Age-gap romances and ones within the MC life just never tire as a trope. I simply love them and this has to be one of those exceptional stories. Tish and Josh made my heart swoon.
I love their adoration of each other. Josh is possessive to the point of him being addicted to this young girl and it was gorgeous to read. It's so nice to not see an MC guy fuck around with 100 women.
He knows what he wants and he gets it.

Great!
I started read this introduction (that's what I considered it) and couldn't put it down. Josh is crude at times, very domineering, but his heart is wide open to see. I can't wait to read the rest of this story. I really hope it gets better. There's a huge age difference and I love the fact they've known each since she was a girl. I love the older guardian turned love interest plot.

For those who enjoy age difference romances, this is a steamy read between a young girl who has had to bring herself up with her drug addicted mom in the background and an aged biker who protects her. Their relationship heats up instantly when he's released from prison and he decides to claim her.

This recommended as an age gap trope and I guess for the most part that is true. It's not a very good story at all. The girl is shallow and stupid while the guy is over the top. The dialogue is laughable. Wish I had quit early because it never got any better. Don't waste your time!

This introduces us to Josh and Tish. We get Tish's background and how Josh came into her life. Once these two get between the sheets, things are hot! I look forward to reading the next book to get more of this couple. I really hope to see them interacting with the club.

I absolutely fell completely in love with both characters. You have your dirty alpha male with your strong loyal woman. I love how the story has me still guessing. On to read the next book. 10 stars

I loved the Wanted Men Series that Nancy Haviland wrote. There seemed to be a lot more research done for that series than in the Steel Jackals MC book. I think this could be a great series but research needs to be done about the ins and outs of being part of a Motorcycle Gang or Organization.
