This is the fourth book in the series. The characters are the same: Josie, Suzie, Freddie, Jackson, the two employees, Chef, Suzie’s Mom, and a new character: Wentworth, Mrs. C’s latest beau. Their friend Rochester has a bigger role in this story. Some of the character characteristics are the same: Josie loves to eat esp the Snickers, Suzy making fun of Josie, the Chef is always cooking yummy dishes, Freddie and Jackson trying woo Chef, Suzy’s Mom always trying to hook up Suzy with someone. Yet in this book, Chef finds a body and the mystery starts. This unknown body is found under the ice. There’s a dog stolen from their shelter. The gals find the stolen dog. You’re left wondering who stole the dog and who killer the man under the ice. Your let to believe it’s one person but the ending says no it’s not. Like the previous books, it’s easy reading. The story keeps your interest. The gals plus the Chef gets into a hostage kind of situation. They get out of it but the gun was pointing at them. Some readers may be bored with the repetition of the characters and the interaction between the two gals. But I enjoy it all.The book is entertaining, easy to read, yet there is mystery and a bit of intrigue. #5 is waiting in my Kindle.
