Unfortunately, the assignment involves getting close to a former lover. Gorgeous Mossad agent, Adael Dayan, is Jarrett’s only way into Lang’s circle with Thayne forced to watch from the sidelines. Thayne and Jarrett have faced the Devil before, but always together. Will this case drive a wedge between them or will their love endure?

Out of all the books that I have read in this series which are 4 so far this is the best. There was always something missing in the previous ones but here everything was as it should have been. Even the presence of an old enemy Mills Lang didn't detract from the awesomeness of this book.

I like the series that starts with MCs meeting and getting to know each other more in every subsequent book. This particular book tests Thayne's temper and his resolve as Jarrett has to enter the snake's liar with the back up of only his ex-lover Adael Dayan and not a lot of hope for surviving. But there is no choice as Lang's back to his old tricks except this time he goes for something scarier and more destructive - a chemical weapon that can kill millions of innocents. So the agents team up together to take down the monster once and for all.

It's filled with danger, hideous insanity of a man with no soul, racy encounters and love of two men who will achieve the impossible in order to come back to each other. Jarrett is daring and dashing as ever, Thayne takes on a role of jealous and worrying partner, Adael puts his cards on the table as a supercilious and lacking in depth man and Lang - apart from being depraved and crazy shows how he thinks and that there is a traitor in the agents' midst. That is a hard pill to swallow as everyone is distrustful of their fellow agents but at least no lives are lost, innocent people are saved and Thayne and Jarrett are closer than ever, their love strong and their faith in each other unbeatable.

A fast-paced page turner. I definitely enjoyed it more than the previous books and hope that next one will be as intriguing and as thrilling! I highly recommend it!

The more that the series goes along the more I'm impressed. Thayne and Jarrett are so well together. I just don't understand how the SAC doesn't know by now that they're a couple. But we'll cross that bridge when it happens.

I am so intrigued by this mystery person that is helping the "Higher up" with all his plans for Jarrett. I'm getting ready to read book 5 I hope more clues surface so I can figure it out.

This series just gets better and better!

5 out of 5 stars!

The fourth installment of Patricia Logan's Death and Destruction series brings us back to the beginning with the main case revolving around arms dealer and psychopath Mills Lang. The case was intense throughout the book: lots of danger, surprises, and action in the undercover work combined with the history between Thayne and Lang made for a gripping story. As always in this series with the ATF cases, it is obvious how much research goes into the writing of the book. I applaud the author for always giving us fascinating cases, with an abundance of knowledge and detail interlaced with the action and romance. Speaking of romance...

"There's nothing cliche about two bad-assed ATF agents in love," Thayne protested.
Jarrett barked a laugh. "Now that's just ridiculous. A theme of one of them gay romance novels."

Jarrett and Thayne are.. well.. they are everything. Locked and Loaded shows us just how far they have come from book 1, both individually and as a couple. Experiencing their relationship from the very beginning has been quite the satisfying ride. These two are so HOT together! But even beyond the constantly present heat and chemistry, there is an ever-deepening bond growing between them and it gives me all. The. Feels. All of them. I may or may not have let out a "squeeeee" here and there as I read... ok, ok, I absolutely did. They are just so freaking amazing! I absolutely adore Jarrett and Thayne together and the way they love each other. I also love learning more about their childhoods and lives before they met. We are really getting deep into Jarrett's history especially, and I can't wait to explore it more and more with each book in the future.

This book was a wonderful ride from start to finish. I don't know how Patricia Logan does it, but each book in this series is better than the last. The ongoing mystery regarding who is after Jarrett also continues in L&L and we still have no idea as to their identities by the end (seriously, I need to know). The prologue for book 5 is great and I can't wait for it already. I need more Thayne and Jarrett! Hell, I'm about to go back and start this one all over again. Thank you, Ms. Logan, for another epic story about these incredible men!

Is the author gonna drag the Lang dude, for all the other books? bcs this is becoming really annoying and if I knew before, that things were like this, idk if I would have read this series...

I like Thayne and Jarrett, but not even all the sex they have, also if hot, can keep me from rating this book like this. Adael is still a bitc*, and that man should learn what no means, and I really wish someone would slap him, but at least he was useful in this book, kind of...well his body was...
I'm curious of knowing who is that guy that is protecting Lang and who is the mercenary that always saves his as*, but at this point I just want to see Lang behind bars, and I really hope that the author will not make our guys adopt that girl they saved, bcs also if they would make good parents, that little girl needs siblings and a more stable family, not two guys that risk of getting killed every day of the week. But In the future I really want them to adopt a kid or use a surrogate for them, their kids would be so cute...

Anyway, I hope that in this 5th book I'm reading, they will catch that madman, is really getting boring...

I really love this series. I feel like the relationship with Jarrett and Thayne continues to grow and mature in this series. The action was great, and I really need the bad guy to die.

Entertaining story of two hot ATF agents solving cases and smooching in their down time. 10 book series, must be read in order. Great characters, nice growth and development over the course of the series, lovely side characters, friends and family. I read the first 5 books a while ago and I wished I had kept notes to give this series a proper review. I know I loved the characters and the couple and that the cases were interesting and exciting. The hair salon was awesome and totally memorable, even years later. Some undercover assignments, everyone a bit broken due to the nature of their work, taking chances and being reckless on the job to get results.

These books need to be read close together, at least read through book 6 before taking any large breaks. The long-term plot has a lot of twists, turns, betrayals and characters. Due to the betrayal storyline, they understandably don’t want the culprit too easy to identify, so there are a TON of characters. I took a large break between books 5 and 6 and unknowingly deprived myself the joy of the big reveal, since I had forgotten who most of the side characters were. As everything was unraveled and explained in book 6, I barely had any idea what they were talking about. My fault completely. Learn from my mistake, don’t take any long breaks until after book 6!!!!! I read the first 5 books over three months, then read book 6 nearly 2 years later. Don’t do that.

Reviewed as a series, each book is a 4-5 on its own, with the entire series coming in as a solid 5. Great writing, excellent banter and conversations, interesting investigations, great action scenes with tough guys and beautiful hurt/comfort moments when cases fall apart.

Contemporary, vers, m/m, finished series, must read in order, ATF, federal agents, HFN during series, HEA in book 7.

I was eager, yet a bit worried, for this release. I love Thayne and Jarrett, but was very apprehensive and nervous about the return of Mills Lang.

Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans are back from the coal mines of West Virginia, deeply committed and in love. While in West Virginia, they were able to let down their guard about who they are and what they mean to each other. Now that they are back in Los Angeles, they have to hide their relationship so they won’t be separated as partners in the ATF. But, when Thayne’s worst nightmare and evil nemesis, Miles Lang, is back under the FBI and ATF’s radar, a separation has to occur. Jarrett is needed to go undercover and Thayne, who Lang has hired as an assassin in the past to try and kill him for his betrayal, can’t be seen. To add salt to the wound, Jarrett is partnered with the gorgeous Adael Dayan, a Mossad agent that has been undercover for a bit in Lang’s operation. Not only has Jarrett worked with Adael in the past on military ops but they were also former lovers. Locked and Loaded is their newest and most dangerous mission yet. It is so full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat and turning pages at lightening speed.

I have loved both these men. They are strong, loyal and devoted alpha men who have a trunk full of skeletons that haunt them. When this series began, Thayne was at the mercy and control of Jarrett. At times he seemed to feel less of a man but that simply wasn’t true. I am thrilled with the redirection this series has taken. It has moved to a equal partnership where both men need and depend on their bond. At times, either one is in control. It has been a pleasure to watch Jarrett transform from his old, non-trusting alpha self to an equal partner that can let his guard down and trust his lover and partner completely to take care of not only him but also his needs.

I have read some rather vile characters in the past but I don’t believe I have ever read a character so evil and beyond redemption. This book took me longer than usual to read. I typically read in the evenings but Miles Lang is so beyond the usual disgusting and evil nemesis that I was fearful of nightmares. He is literally a demented psychopath that has no conscience.

As I stated before, I love how this series has morphed and the change in Jarrett and Thayne’s relationship dynamics. Can’t wait for the next in this series and to see where their relationship future is headed. First book for me this new year and it’s a doozy!!!

Magnificent!
In the attempt to finally get Mills Lang and his poison off the face of the earth, Jarrett is forced to go undercover with an old ally and former lover, Adael Dayan.
Even when Adael makes Thayne's jealousy rear it's ugly head, Jarrett's complete devotion to his lover is deep and beautiful to witness.

Unbeknownst to them, Jarrett's past has come back to haunt them at this most crucial time and puts a wrench in their plans to finally put Mills out of business. When Jarrett is injured, the desperation and utter need Thayne has to feel Jarrett in his arms to confirm to himself that he is alive, safe and well all but bled out of the pages. It was heartbreaking, riveting and all consuming. I didn't think their relationship could get more epic but it totally did.

With this unknown player leaking their information to their enemies, it's going to take all the skills Jarrett has acquired to escape with his life.

Simply amazing and spell binding. I loved, loved, loved this book.

OMG!!

When I say this series is the bomb I mean it!! It just keeps getting better and better...Jared and Thayne were amazing once again...secondary characters on point as well...of course so damn well-written..but the plot is off the chart...I have so many damn questions...who the hell is the inside man?? What's the bigger picture here?? Why do they want Jarrett dead?? What was in the damn container from 2007??? What kind of trouble will Mills Lane cause for our couple and the ATF?? I mean the questions keep rattling off in my head!! And every time you think one is answered another 10 pops up!!! "sighs"... I can keep going but I don't want to spoil anything...EXCELLENT story telling!! Not so patiently waiting on book 5....

I fall more and more in love with Thayne and Jarrett with every book. Psychopathic international arms dealer Mills Lang is back and this time around it's Jarrett who goes undercover with his former lover, Adael Dayan, as a buyer while Thayne has to sit and watch in the surveillance truck. "Locked and Loaded" is intense, emotional and action packed. Thayne and Jarrett between the sheets is hot, hot, hot. I can't wait for book 5 "Point and Shoot" this spring. Keep an coming Patricia. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Another great installment

The series gets better each time. This is no exception. Jarrett and Thayne are back and up against a known arms dealer. The stakes are higher this time around but through it all, Jarrett and Thayne' s relationship grows stronger. Looking forward to the next book 🤗

With ATF agents Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans you don't just get a steamy story of love you get a background story that had depth. If you are looking for a read that is simple and straightforward, this is not for you. Locked and Loaded is about two strong alpha males with flaws whose love for each other deeply and the sexual heat between them burns up the pages. I love this series and have added it to my must buy list. I especially love the background characters. Patricia Logan has added strong female characters which is a nice change from the weak females you usually find in these type of books. The action boarders on 'James Bond' antics at times which you know is pure fiction but it only adds to the enjoyment of the plot. There is often humour sprinkled throughout which balances out the serious nature of some of the darker narrative. Totally worth the read.

This series gets better with each book. This one once again has Jarrett in primary focus. That's a good thing too! Jarrett is an ex-marine-ex-mercenary a bad ass bodyguard and now an ATF agent. And he has an accent.( I have a thing for accents).

This story also brings us back to Mills Lang from the first book, a devious firearms dealer. This time he has Tabun a deadly nerve gas and is selling it to the highest bidder. Dayum ( an ex-lover of Jarrett's) from book two is also back and has Thayne jealous as he is going undercover with Jarrett instead of Thayne.

There is a lot much mystery, suspense and twists, and turns. There is still a traitor out there somewhere, and it's inside either the FBI or ATF. There were some quite chilling scenes and some very creative action. Of course, we had the scorching sex scenes with Thayne and Jarrett as well. I cannot wait for the next book, though right now this is my favorite of the series.
If you like drama, action, suspense, mystery, Ex-military men, mercenaries, and some smoking hot man-sex I highly recommend this one.

These guys get better with every book, Jarrett and Thayne are great together in yet another fantastic story. The scenes in this book awesome the amount of research for this, the author has done a great job. Jarrett is still the prankster as he takes revenge on his drill sergeants in the deserts was a great scene. They get back from a "team building" season to be ordered into Stranger's Office to learn their old nemesis is back. Buying ammunition and already killing innocent people. Jarrett's going undercover to catch Lang once and for all and Thayne is worried. Guns and nerve gas are suspected to be in Lang's hands. Too make things worst for Thayne, Jarret's partner is an past lover, Agent Dayan while he watches from the sidelines. This is a must read as is the previous books, I loved reading this one, still with so many questions left which I'll eagerly wait for the next book.

Thayne and Jarrett are at it again and this time and they are going after Mills Lang again! I was not happy when I seen that Thayne was not to be Jarrett’s back, but this honor goes to no other than Jerrett’s ex, Adael Dayan! Oh, what a mess these handsome men find themselves in is a nail biter that will keep you riveted to your book till the last page has turned. Then just to add a little more excitement, the ATF finally figured out that there is a mole in their organization! The Love keeps building between Jarrett and Thayne stronger and stronger and the love scenes get better and better! Lock & Loaded is the 4th in the Death and Destruction series that really should be read as part of the series.

What can I say about this book?  Well, if you want excitement, murder, kidnapping, espionage and a bit of romance, this is the book for you. It continues the story of Thanyne and Jarrett, that began with Death & Destruction, book one in the series and I can't wait for the next one, really love this series, definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what's going to happen next.
This is another great book by Patricia Logan, one you don't want to miss, it's very well written, as all of her books are. So grab your copy today!

Dnf 75%.

As much as I liked previous books I don't connect with this on any levels.

First of all. This series tries to be Cut and Run very hard. You have your two agents working for yhe government, one of them is from south, ex-marine, other was under cover; now they work together, what a twist!
Also both of them are "macho but make it vulnerable", obvs w/great bodies, working out every day and having tons of hot sex (debatable).

Second. This series fails as Cut and Run wannabe. And here is why:
- all the characters are bland. And books told from both Jarrett and Thayne POV, so it's hard to understand who is who when author- makes them so alike and at the same time so basic. Secondary characters are also forgettable.
- romance is bad. Not problematic, just badly written. Both MC don't have unique enough voice or personality, they think the same shit and do things that the other does. All of their quirks and unique traits are told but not shown.
- sex is also bad. Cut and Run is one of the series that have done sex scenes well - different enough to be excited about them every time I read it, but real enough for it to be believable. Ty and Zane are the hottest couple, fight me. Thayne and Jarrett are sooooo boring! In one of my updates I wrote that book itself said that oil as a lube was different. I'm sorry for everyone that thinks that's true, maybe it's time to spice things up.
- love triangle (????) Ok, so Jarrett have an ex, Adael, who we met in previous book. He was introduced as a potential couple breaker because it seemed like he had feelings for Jarret, but in this book author decided that he is going to be that shitty ex that was going to get you back at all costs. But why? What's the reason?a Where is character development and his motive? Idk that's bullshit.
- living together. Wtf was this all about? That scene was most absurd thing I've ever read.
"Move in with me" "Nope" "But it's important for me" *wtf does he hiding in his apt??? not gonna ask* "uhhhhh" "ok I'm not mad I'm just disappointed" "yeah ok I'll move in" >>> later >>> *why it took me so long to move in? 🤔*
- everything is going on inside mc brains. I think if we cut every scene where one character thought something about other, or basic descriptions (his eyes were so blue blah blah) book would have been half a size. They don't add aything to the story, author's job is to show us characters through the posture, through their relationships witg others, through the little things. In this book we only see J in the T eyes and vice versa.
- book is romance and suspense/detective (I guess) but both of those parts are so boring. Nothing happens, only J and T worrying about each other through the whole book and doing nothing about it (even talking), but having lots of sex apparently.

Well, that was a disappointment. I was so excited for this series and it started so good... Oh well... Guess audiobooks were better for me since I didn't saw these flaws in previous works.

"Locked and Loaded" propels ATF agents Thayne Wolfe and Jarrett Evans into the treacherous world of international arms dealing, offering a gripping narrative that combines heart-stopping action, emotional depth, and a hint of past demons. The review masterfully captures the essence of the story, setting the stage for an adrenaline-fueled adventure that promises to be both thrilling and emotionally resonant.

The return of the notorious arms dealer Mills Lang introduces a familiar and formidable foe, and the review adeptly conveys the reluctance with which Thayne and Jarrett reenter this dangerous game. The stakes are raised with the acquisition of a powerful nerve agent, and the mention of a high-stakes auction involving the world's nastiest scumbags adds an element of suspense that will undoubtedly keep readers on the edge of their seats.

The emotional complexity of the narrative shines through in the review's portrayal of Thayne's haunting nightmares and Jarrett's burning desire for revenge. The juxtaposition of duty and personal vendettas adds depth to the characters, and the review hints at the internal struggles each agent must face as they confront old demons and navigate the dangerous world of undercover operations.

The review skillfully introduces Mossad agent Adael Dayan as a key player in the mission, creating an intriguing dynamic that adds layers to the narrative. The mention of a former lover and the necessity of getting close to Lang's circle sets the stage for interpersonal tension and ethical dilemmas, promising a complex and multifaceted plot.

The emotional core of the story is eloquently summarized in the review's exploration of Thayne's helplessness as he watches Jarrett place himself in harm's way. The delicate balance between duty and personal connection is delicately portrayed, and readers can expect a narrative that delves into the resilience of love in the face of adversity.

In conclusion, "Locked and Loaded" appears to be a masterful blend of suspense, romance, and character-driven storytelling. Thayne and Jarrett's journey is poised to be a rollercoaster of emotions, with the shadowy world of international arms dealing providing a rich backdrop for their adventures. Fans of the series will undoubtedly be thrilled by this latest installment, and the review effectively captures the anticipation and excitement that awaits readers.

There are two conflicts overlying the series up to this point that drives this story, in particular. One involves Garrett's past as a Marine sniper and the other Thayne's undercover work that stopped a big shipment of weapons. His work failed to result in a murder conviction for the kingpin, so he's still out there. In 'Locked and Loaded: Death and Destruction Book 4', International arms dealer Mills Lang is back, and this time he has gotten a powerful nerve agent tabun to sell to the highest bidder. ATF agent Jarrett Evans is sent undercover as an Iranian to bid for the weapon and is paired with his old lover, Mossad agent Adael Dayan--his only way to be able to bid on the nerve agent with several other truly twisted folk that hopes to win the bid. ATF agent Thayne Wolfe has to sit on the sidelines, much to his consternation, as he would be easily recognized by Mills Lang and his lackeys! They discover that the agent will be tested on a human being who turns out to be a little girl! They were able to save her and reclaim the cache of tabun. This story was such an incredible ride with some unexpected twists and turns delivered courtesy of the Mossad agent. My heart went out to ATF agent Thayne Wolfe as he sits back to see his love ATF agent Jarrett Evans work the horrendously dangerous assignment with the gorgeous Adael Dayan. With the love, tenderness, and devotion between the ATF agents, I had full faith that their relationship would stand the strain of the ex-lover's presence but the treacherous nature of Jarrett's assignment had me on the edge of my seat. Patricia Logan's gift for sheer gut-wrenching excitement in a book was fully demonstrated in the narrative and Michael Pauley's awesome reading complemented the story beautifully.
