Ava

The meek shall inherit the earth, they say.

Bullshit. Look at me now. What do I have? Nothing.

I thought I wouldn't get past a second heartbreak. I was wrong. I never should've closed myself off in tears when Lucas told me he loved me. I should've had faith he wouldn't betray me.

Regaining his love will mean throwing away my pride, my armor and laying myself completely bare. I have to trust that he won't crush me at my most vulnerable.

The attempt will leave me bleeding. It might just kill me. But I definitely won't survive knowing that I didn't fight for what I wanted: my future.

A future with the only man I ever loved...a man more important than the very air I breathe...

Lucas

You gotta put yourself out there to get what you want.

My ass.

I bared my heart to Ava. I begged for her trust, her love.

Instead she shattered my soul.

She's circling me, her pretty eyes vulnerable. She won't fool me this time. I'll never give her another shot. I'll break her before she breaks me...

Note: The last book in Lucas and Ava's epic love story! No cliffhanger.

These two are just too insecure and have too many hang-ups for me to fully believe in their HEA. And the way in which the drama with the child was involved left me scratching my head. However, I finished this one (albeit with skimming the intimate scenes), so that’s saying something. Plus, this was a safe story with very little OP drama and the H didn’t come across as a manho, so I appreciate that too.

Lucas is so enduring and he deserves someone better than Ava. I didn’t care for her in “An Unlikely Deal ” and was hoping she would redeem herself in this book. I actually am more irritated with her in this book. I thought when she went to the suite to ask Lucas for another chance and declare her love, she would be totally honest with him. Heck, they even promised to be completely honest with each other. Yet she holds the most significant information from him. When the truth comes out, Lucas is angry and disappointed but having him forgive her so quickly makes no sense. Their trust was fundamentally broken. She once again uses the harsh words his brother said to her as a reason. I just can’t be happy about their HEA, which hardly happens to me, as I almost alway root for the couple to overcome obstacle and have love win. The only time I don’t, is when a father’s rights are pushed aside. This was not a case of Lucas being a terrible man and a threat to a child. So I can’t see any justification for Ava’s decision. I say Lucas needs a woman that will be totally honest with him.
Even though, right now I am disappointed with the plot of this book, I am still intrigued with the siblings and want to read both Blake and Elizabeth’s stories.

This book is the second half of Lucas and Ava's story!

Ava and Lucas have always had a bumpy relationship but nothing nearly as roller 'coasterish' as in this story! At times I felt like shaking them! 😂😂 At other times I wanted to console and comfort them. To be invested in the emotions of a story is a good sign of a worthwhile tale told well.

Ava and Lucas are back in North America but not together. Career pathways mean both will have to learn how to work together.

I think a couple of the secondary characters are worth mentioning. Faye, an old flame and friend of Lucas', isn't going to give him up without a fight! Now this woman is an extremely annoying interference in both Lucas and Ava's life, to put it mildly. Lucas' mother is only briefly mentioned but the evil she represents is huge and I could have cheerfully push her down a tall staircase! Both incredibly described and used so well by the author.

An extremely enjoyable story and very easy to read.

This is the second book in this series and An Unlikely Deal needs to be read first.

Ava Huss has just got a job in LA at a medical center and hopes this will provide her with a new start away from Lucas. But fate has different plans for Ava as she soon realizes when she spots Lucas at the opening for the medical center she has just started working at.

Lucas Reed is a billionaire but all the money in the world can't seem to bring him closer to Ava. He tries to do anything and everything to show Ava how much he loves her but he can't seem to get through to her and break down her walls.

When Lucas's sister, Elizabeth, helps Ava to see things from a different angle will she allow Lucas back in and finally reveal the secrets she has been hiding? Or will her secrets be revealed by another hoping to gain favor with Lucas?

So I was definitely still mad at Ava after what happened in the last book and I felt as though she had a lot to make up for. Lucas was trying so hard but she wasn't allowing him a chance.

In this book we are able to see that Ava still does love Lucas and Elizabeth really helps her see that her love with Lucas is worth a chance and worth fighting for. I didn't know how Ava's secrets were revealed but I definitely knew that there was a chance that things could explode for Ava and Lucas.

It was funny how much Ava did a complete turn about with the painting to help Lucas but Lucas really didn't care about the money. I loved that side of him and I truly think it showed how genuine he was about their relationship.

It was interesting to see how Ava was more worried about Darcy and Ray and how they were dealing with everything. Yet both Darcy and Ray had different ideas about what they wanted in regards to Mia and the truth.

The ending was great and I was glad to see how everything worked out. I hope to see Elizabeth in a book soon!!

Book: An Unlikely Bride
Author: Nadia Lee
Series: Billionaires' Bride of Convenience Book 7 (Lucas and Ava Book 2)
Genre: Contemporary Romance/New Adult
Release Date: June 13, 2017
Stars: 4
So, this book is the continuation of Lucas and Ava's second chance romance where they FINALLY get their HEA. (THANK GOD!! They more than deserve it!!)
Even though Lucas grew up wealthy and surrounding by luxury, he could never live up to his mother's impossible expectations even though his identical twin, Elliot (his story, Books 3-5), wasn't treated the same way. His dysfunctional childhood leads him to react to Ava's rejection in a way that worry his relentless siblings that want him to snap out of his downward spiral.
Ava grew up in poverty with a front row seat to her mother's constant pining over a manipulative, wealthy man that toyed with her mother (deja vu, anyone?). Her witnessing her mother's unfortunate relationship makes Ava prejudice and judgemental of wealthy people and is the reason she doesn't trust Lucas.
Fortunately, Nadia gets these two emotionally dysfunctional characters on the right path toward the healing and love they need and were always denied... FINALLY!
Even though this book and its predecessor could be long winded, I totally recommend this book for those who like a good second chance romance.

An Unlikely Bride cannot be read as a standalone. An Unlikely Deal must be read first.
I enjoyed the development of the characters in the first book but Ava was frustrating to me even though I understood why. I just wanted her to give in to Lucas a little sooner and explain her actions to him. I really loved Lucas and all he tried to do to redeem himself. Swoon! Ava will struggle with the love she has for Lucas.

There were supporting characters I would have rather not met but hey, that’s what makes a story well rounded. With that being said there were others that I can’t wait to hear about in their own books.

Nadia Lee gave us a nice conclusion but I feel like there should have been more in their HEA. This will not be my last book by this author. I recommend it for anyone looking for a story with lots of ups and downs, heartache and emotional struggles but also love that will conquer all. This conclusion gives us complete story all tied up with a nice little bow.

Well thank fricking goodness.

I needed a HEA from this story and I needed it bad because the hero was everything and the heroine I wanted to murder.

Well this one was in the heroine's favor so my hatred lessend as I read about her reasoning but still..

This one was really fricking good and it comes with a teensy surprise and you go like DAFUQ YOU SAY???

I really applaud the author for adding in the surprise factor and saving this one from becoming a basic boring repeat!

So, great job!

This is the final book about Ava and Lucas! They have a bumpy ride before they have their happy ever after.
These two had to get out of their own head before they could make their relationship better. There was times I just wanted to scream at them to just get it right. Then there was times I felt their pain and wanted to comfort them. I just wanted them to be together and in the end it all finally worked out.
I loved reading this book and going on Ava and Lucas' journey.
This is my first series by this Author and I have to say I am now a fan for life. I have enjoyed reading these books. I am so sad that I have come almost to the end of this series. While there is another book coming soon, though. That book is Blake's story. So I just have to wait two more days and it will be here. I can't wait. I done pre-order my copy.

Thank god for a happy ending!

It takes abit of time to get there as these two characters really know how to torture themselves. They spent so much time in their own heads second guessing each other and their own feelings it was really hard going at times. I just wanted to give them both a shake! You can understand their trepidation but I did want them to get a grip abit quicker!

When they do finally get back together it's perfect, they love each other so much and you really feel that they can overcome anything. There was a few things to resolve which I thought happened well. I would of liked a little more padding out of the ending. Would of been nice to get an epilogue with a little glimpse into their future.

Well written.

Tortured Love

Tortured love is the best way to describe Ava and Lucas. Lucas grew up in the lap of luxury, but could never live up to his mother's impossible expectations. Ava lived in poverty watching her mother pine her life away for a rich man who just wanted to play games. Both struggle to find the kind of love they crave but never received growing up. Between relentless siblings, caddy ex's, and paternity secrets; they fight their way to the ultimate goal of happily ever after.

Aside from Gavin and Amandine (Pregnant with Her Billionaire Ex's Baby), Ava and Lucas are my 2nd favorite love story. And I can't wait to see what happens next.

Heartbreaking!

This 2 book story is about 2 broken, emotionally damaged, fearful to trust people! Ava and Lucas met 2 years prior, had a hidden 7 month relationship , that ended when he was badly injured in a motorcycle accident. When Ava went to the hospital, his brother Blake was cruel and cold to her, sending her away forever. Lucas has been isolated, recuperating from serious physical damage, during this time. Finding her to put an end to his obsession with her absence, opens their relationship again Everything and everyone seems against them, including themselves! It is emotionally devastating!

Fuuuck this book >:(

I skimmed it (skipping Ava’s chapters) just for the Reed family drama storylines but man, did this piss me off. I have never hated a female main character or an ending to a book more.

Hey, let’s create a physically and emotionally damaged guy and take his baby from him forever for…reasons? Because these other folks are really nice and deserve a baby? I can’t hate this enough.

Implying there will be some sort of bicoastal coparentjng arrangement is straight up horseshit. Imagine if your bio parents raised your siblings after giving you away. What sort of relationship dynamics would you feel? So fucked up.

I said I would not buy any more of these books as I hate books in two or even three parts, but I find I just want to know how this family carry on, find these stories quite addictive, although I skip all the personal parts, do not find all the details of sex interesting, and some of the language leaves a lot to be ignored, just do not think this kind of stuff needs to be written, after all an awful lot of people do NOT like bad language, stories can be written without using it!!!!! Will continue to read about them just the same.

I loved this ending to Lucas and Ava's story! Here are two people who have been deeply wounded in their lives by the people who should have loved them the most. They find each other and an intense love, but due to their emotional scars, fail to trust and communicate honestly, separating not once, but twice! The question then becomes whether or not they love enough to face the past so that they can have a future together. True Nadia Lee excellence!

This story is well written with endearing characters. Lucas and Ava are both broken souls, who have a tormented love, due to trust issues, as well as lack of communication and honesty. Will they be able to overcome their issues? No spoilers give this one a go for yourself!
This is a fantastic series, and I have been intrigued and hooked from the very beginning. Looking forward to reading this next book from this very talented author.

WOW.. wow, wow, I love reading , Nadia Lee's books; I can't wait to read, The Final Deal, about Bad Boy Blake, who made such a mess in Lucas and Ava life. What a great read. What a mess. When I read this book, it almost smacks you in the face, telling you money is a necessity, it does not buy you happiness, or gives you a happily ever after unless you find the love of your life and there is a lot if forgiveness, honesty and trust on both sides; otherwise the marriage will never work.

Good happy ending

So glad Ava pulled her head out of the sand. She truly was biased, prejudiced and judgmental of all wealthy people. I'm very happy she and Lucas pledged to be open and honest with each other. A good ending to their story. Truly happy for Lucas as he is deserving of someone's love. Looking forward to Blake's story as well as Elizabeth's.

What a horrible waste of money and time! I Hated the heroine! She was not worth Lucas'time or love. Not keeping her baby? If her foster parents want to help her so much they didn't have to take her baby. The mom was 55years old! And they end up with the baby? WTF! Lucas deserved someone better than her.

Conclusion of Lucas & Ava's story

I wanted Lucas to have his HEA so bad and I'm so happy that he got it. Lucas's story is so heartbreaking, if I were the author I would've definitely killed off a few characters. No one should feel this poorly about themself.

Well done Nadia Lee for all the feels. Thanks for making it available in KU. JP

Nerves were on edge

Ever read a book that has all the feels? Well you will with this one. My stomach is in knots. Between rooting for Ava and Lucas, and wishing his ex would get hit by a bus, to karma stepping in and saying enough, my emotions are on edge. Absolutely love reading books like this.

Wonderful story. Wonderful series. No one can screw you more than family, whether they mean to (parents) or don’t even remember (stupid Blake). Lucas and Ava have so much tragic and toxic in their childhoods. But they finally come together in their HEA.
