Some people bitch and moan about how you can't trust people. Well, you can't even trust yourself! How often did you set your alarm clock, but when the time came around you hit the snooze button?

Thibaut Meurisse's book is super short, but super helpful. It's a practical guide for habit building. The development is two-fold: Breaking bad habits and establishing better ones.

Consistency is the key. It's much easier to follow through with a habit when you are doing it daily. If you win the day, you win in the game called success. Consistency is more important than intensity. Consider life being a marathon, not a sprint.

Probably the biggest revelation is the result-oriented society we live in today. People only see the (often lacking) results and judge your success. However, it's much more effective to focus on your ACTIONS, not on your results. Because the right actions will inevitably lead to the right results. Don't judge yourself based on results, judge yourself based on actions. Always.

I really like the wealth of advice Meurisse gives us here. His book is packed with information and I'm sure I'll be reading it over and over again to work on my habits.

Unique Suggestions For Habit Success

This book had tips to enable you to be successful at habit creation that I have not read elsewhere. I have already put suggestions into action to work on my more stubborn habits, ones that I have had difficulty implementing.

One of the most useful suggestions was to give yourself permission to do the habit poorly. Doing the habit poorly is better than not doing it at all.

I also found that if you are funding reluctant ancestors from your brain (the brain hates change, loves to conserve energy, and is there lazy) try doing a micro-habit. Try breaking your habits into a ridiculously small action, and see how you feel afterwards. Usually I go ahead and complete the whole habit since I got momentum going.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

"Your brain is lazy and doesn't like change, but it does like efficiency.'
This self help book was pretty good, giving many tips on how to break bad habit and form new habits. I've marked down some notes as I am trying to form one habit and break another, thought the book does say that you should only try to do one habit at a time.

This book is a jam packed survey of knowledge by the author regarding how to change and improve habits. It breaks down not only how to create habits, but also how to avoid the traps that bar you from successfully beginning a habit. The book also provides a wealth of outsourced information on the Author’s website.

Ultimately this book the answer to the question, "how can you improve, if you don't change your bad habits?"

There are some good ideas that would be helpful for those who haven't read a lot on this topic, but after you've read a few books on it, this will look like a very dry book written book without much anecdotes or stories. Still, there are some good ideas that could help one refresh their ideas about how to create better habits that stick.

Not really a habit-building skill. Fundamental ideas and they are not original. The book is based on many self-help books.

This book does not offer much new information for a person who has consumed a lot of self-help literature. It felt like reading a pamphlet for a course about habit creation.
