The Vampire Mafia: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Five deadly love stories.
And one dark saga.

This is August, New York, where the chaotic world of the supernatural will collide with unsuspecting, vulnerable humans.

Trouble

Notorious criminal Mickey McKennan is everything Nora Evers shouldn't want. He's power and sex in a suit with a rogue smile, and when they meet, her world tilts as she falls in lust--until that world halts when tragedy strikes. Nora's life quickly goes from bad to worse, and she finds Mickey at every turn. Although his deadly secrets ensure that trouble follows him, she is drawn to him more and more. But, when her past haunts her present, Nora's life is threatened, and she is unsure of who she can count on to help her survive.

Beautiful

Everyone has a price, and thanks to the captivating Simon Handover and his proposition, Penny Ames has discovered hers. She will just need to make it through one month with him before she can flee and never look back. But, with his Clark Kent good looks and Superman swagger, Simon is more of a threat to Penny than she realizes. While fighting not to lose her heart, she stumbles into a world filled with guns, gangs, and...vampires, and soon, she finds herself also fighting for her life.

Collateral

When Sosie Savage is taken hostage by the Vampire Mafia due to her father's mistake, the only thing on her mind is survival--until her focus begins to shift as her captors, the D'Avignon brothers, vie for her attention. Powerful yet antagonistic, J.M. and Sebastien fascinate her. Where J.M. is destructive and dangerous, Sebastien acts as the savior with his kindness. With her feelings clouding her mind, Sosie struggles to set things right in the tangled web her father weaved. But, after the D'Avignon family receives threats from rival vampires while enduring run-ins with the authorities, she begins to question her allegiance to her own family and the life that she once knew.

Vengeful

Kidnapped and tortured with no end in sight, Beau D'Avignon is certain death is imminent. That is, until Francesca Slight intervenes. Sheltered daughter of the D'Avignon's sworn enemy, she is now also the owner of Beau's heart. With the animosity between the leading vampire families, their newfound love is not likely to survive, especially when the escalating war threatens all their lives.

Frustrated with her father's lack of action in the search for her missing family, Bellamy D'Avignon is determined to take the reins, but along the way, she crosses paths with someone from the opposite side of the law. He's literally tall, dark, and handsome, and their connection is immediate and undeniable. But, when a life-altering threat hits and emotions take over, Bellamy makes a decision that will change their lives forever.

Do you love mafia romance, vampires, alpha males, insta-love, and stories told from multiple points of view? M. A. Wilder has got you covered! The Vampire Mafia: The Complete Series is a collection of interconnected stories filled with steam, violence, vampires, family, criminals, and betrayal. You are going to want to read all of these stories at once, because they all end in a way that leaves you wanting more.

The beginning of each book picks up where the last left off, but with a new couple’s story and perspective. In each book, you will meet the couple that the story focuses on and encounter the couple that you will learn more about in subsequent stories or that you have already read about. You also get to experience at least one scene from a different point of view than you did in the last book. I really enjoyed that, because it helped you see different aspects of the story that you wouldn’t have known otherwise.

Trouble is the first book in the series, and for most of the story, I forgot I was supposed to be reading about vampires. The criminal element was the primary focus of the story until near the end, and I actually felt like I was watching an old gangster movie which was kind of cool. Nora Evers and her best friend are waiting to see a movie when Mickey McKennan, a well-known criminal, waltzes into the theater. Nora can’t help but be charmed by him. He is gorgeous, cocky, alpha, and fixated on her as soon as he sees her. Their meeting is cut short when he is arrested and taken to jail. Shortly after, someone tries to shoot Nora, but winds up hitting her friend instead. She has a pretty good idea of who it is. You see, Nora’s mother was murdered, and the man responsible has been released from prison. Nora was the sole witness that helped convict him. That isn’t the last attempt made on Nora’s life, and Mickey comes to her rescue every time. Soon, Nora finds out that her and Mickey’s lives are more connected than she thought.

In book 2, Beautiful, we learn that Penny Ames signed a contract to be her boss' personal assistant and sex slave for a predetermined amount of time, and in exchange, she will receive an extremely large sum of money. It would be enough money that she would never have to worry about her finances ever again. Her boss dies before she is able to fulfill her contract, and the company is taken over by his son, Simon Handover. To her surprise, Simon presents her with a similar contract, and after some thought, she agrees to his terms. Penny begins to question her decision when she discovers that life with Simon includes gangsters, violence, and vampires.

Books 3 & 4, Collateral and Vengeful, revolve around the D’Avignon family and a rival family in the vampire mafia as well as the law officials known as the cowboys. We still have couples that are the spotlight in each story, but these books are where everything starts to come together. Not only do we see the bigger picture, but all of the characters from the books begin to interact. At the end of Vengeful, everyone we have gotten to know over the course of the series is present. So many things happen in these two books that I can’t even begin to summarize it all. They are my favorite in the series, and Vengeful ends in a way that is satisfying while leaving an opening for more books in the future.

The Vampire Mafia Series by M. A. Wilder is a fun, entertaining, and sexy read. My favorite thing about this series is the way each smaller story is woven into the next to form a complete story arc. If the author decides to continue these stories, I will be reading them. Paranormal romance and mafia romance are two of my favorite things to read, so books that combine the two are right up my alley! To be completely honest, I would have purchased these books for the cover alone. We all know I am a total cover whore, and this cover gives me the warm and fuzzies! I will warn you that if you aren’t a fan of instalove, these books are not going to be your cup of tea. However, if you enjoy alpha males that fall head over heels in record time, vampires, and crime family drama, this might be the series for you!

Book One – TROUBLE

Mickey McKennan makes no bones about being a heartless criminal kingpin. But he does hide a very deadly secret that amplifies both his charisma and his power. He is a man one NEVER wants to cross. Nora Evers is prim, always willing to earn her own way and far from a shrinking violet. When she accidentally bumps into Mickey, little did she know her world was about to go from fairly normal to dark, passionate and very dangerous. Mickey is overbearing, a sexual predator and like no one Nora has ever known or was willing to tolerate, but somehow she cannot resist going against every principle she has ever had in the arms of this larger-than-life man. When her past comes slithering out of the shadows, Mickey may be her only option for safety, but what she learns about him is something nightmares are made of. Will it matter when he offers her love that truly lasts for eternity?

M.A. Wilder has opened this series with a bang! An overbearing alpha who oozes sexual predator pheromones, a beautiful human who has honor, morals and an inner strength that is completely praise-worthy. To say their passion ignites would be like saying that a match lit at a gas station could cause a small fire. Meet Mickey’s world, discover his secret and be amazed at how long it takes for the big reveal! Dark, gritty, romance with a bite.

Book Two – BEAUTIFUL

Was Penny tricked into accepting a temporary proposal from Simon Handover? Simon had just taken over his father’s business and rumors were rampant, would he follow in his father’s footsteps and mix business with carnal pleasure at the office? Penny was supposed to be his subordinate, not his plaything, when she is offered a deal she couldn’t’ refuse, she finds herself at his beck and call for one month, a month that should end with all of her problems gone and enough money to do whatever she wants. Who knew that not only would Simon control her life, but he would rapidly control her heart? Little did she know that life would soon include a vampire mafia, fangs, gangs and possible death.

Well, turn on the AC because Simon is smoking hot and Penny is finding she needs a fire-proof suit to keep from getting singed. Is it possible that the one man who makes her heart beat triple time could really be involved in the world of a mafia that shouldn’t even exist?

Book Three – COLLATERAL

Her dad was an addict, drugs, gambling, alcohol were his weaknesses, too bad he didn’t have a soft spot in his heart for his daughter, Sosie. After being emotionally absent in her life, he is back and in big trouble, he needs money, lots of money or the mafia will be fitting him for a cement overcoat or worse. Desperate for her father’s love, hoping that this time there will be a family bond between them, she naively asks for an extension and finds herself a captive, instead. Her life is now in the hands of monsters and only her weak father can save her, but will he? Sosie finds herself trapped in a world of vampires, including two brothers as different as night and day who each want a piece of her heart and soul. Unsure of her feelings, she must decide who will truly stand as her protector in a world filled with powerful creatures whose favorite drink is blood. Will the volatile and terrifying J.M. be trustworthy? He acts as if he hates her, but seems to show up at just the right time. Then there is Sebastien, a man of faith and kindness with a gentle touch. Both powerful vampires, both part of the D’Avignon family, both preparing for war in their own way. If Sosie lives, will her heart reveal the one meant for her? Can she put up with a deadly and antagonistic mother-in-law? What will she learn about her father? Will he save her or see her as collateral damage for his freedom?

Book Four – Vengeful

He knew he would be facing his final death at the hands of the Slight family and Beau D’Avignon never expected an angel of mercy to rescue him from his family’s sworn enemies. But she came and his heart would be hers for eternity. It could be a wonderful fairytale romance, if she weren’t the Slight family princess, Francesca. Is it a trick? Why would she save her enemy? More dangerous than the love between Romeo and Juliet, Beau and Francesca must face the wrath of both families as the war between the vampire mafia clans heats up to a raging inferno of bloodshed.

I have to say, this may have been the sweetest couple in the series, which is not say that body parts won’t fly or that the torture won’t be gag worthy.

Meanwhile, family members are missing or dead and Bellamy is tired of doing nothing. As she prepares to override every human law in existence, one man comes into her life that stops her in her tracks. Of course, Fate must play games at the worst of times, and this love may be doomed from the start. Bellamy must decide to choose between family and love and that choice could alter the future for vampires and humans alike. Once again, the heat index soars as M. A. Wilder fuels the flames of love.

You think living among the Mafia is dangerous, clannish or that a war between the most powerful families results in horse heads in beds, black and white movies, machine guns and wise guys? Clearly you haven’t heard of the Vampire Mafia where the war between two controlling families in August, New York makes the human Mafia look like a game of Candyland. Prepare yourself for more violence, family loyalties and bloodshed as M.A. Wilder gives us a supernatural bonanza in THE VAMPIRE MAFIA-THE COMPLETE SERIES. Yes, you read that right, an enter series under one cover! So get ready to bathe yourself in violence, blood, eternal death and more darkness than a total eclipse at night.

I received this series from M.A. Wilder in exchange for my honest review.

If you like PNR, romantic suspense, stories involving a messed up mafia, or high levels of sexiness, then THE VAMPIRE MAFIA series might be for you. Comprised of several moving parts, this series involves corrupt officials, action, vampires (obviously), plenty of insta-lust and insta-love, and loads of bad guys to go around. Although each story wasn't thought-provoking or profound, they were no less enjoyable and entertaining. I liked how the characters crossed over to each story, especially because I felt their stories weren't quite finished, and it also gave the reader a better perspective of each character as they were seen through different eyes. This author created a well-developed world in August, NY, a world that I'm a little bit afraid of, and that is only a small measure of this series' success. I would be happy to read more of these characters. Guns and blood and vampires and sexiness and so much more, oh my!

Okay...I’m not sure what to make of this. Initially I didn’t like the writing. I checked the reviews to discover most people liked it. So I continued on...

Trouble - 2*

I had to double check that this was actually a vampire book. Because for most of this first story there’s no mention of them.
I also felt like I’d missed a previous book or something. There’s very little world building or explanation.
Yes I know some things are revealed as we read. But it’s not until the third book Collateral that it really comes together. As a result this first book fell a bit flat for me.

It’s set in a world like ours but with cowboys.

Cowboys.
Special agents with special clearance and special titles, their government names replaced with the name of a randomly selected state. Referred to as Agents by law-abiding citizens and as Fifties or States by lawbreakers, cowboys are more feared than respected. And their presence is never good for the simple fact that it always spells trouble.

I’m still not convinced about this but the reviews have me sticking with it...for now.

Beautiful - 2.5*

While I’m still not sure about this series I did enjoy this more than the previous one. I liked Simon and Penny and wanted things to work out between them.
Again I’m sticking with it but I’m still not sure...

Collateral - 3*

Okay, this is the first story I’ve really enjoyed. The first two seemed to be lacking so much but now it’s all coming together.
I liked Sosie and J.M. But then who doesn’t love a bad boy and he is a total bad boy.

Vengeful - 3*

I liked that we get both Beau and Bellamy in this one. While I enjoyed this and things came together. I’d worked out most of it before hand which was a little disappointing.

I'm glad this was a complete series, or I would've been pulling my hair out to get the next book. Ms. Wilder is a new author to me and I'm blown away with her writing style. If you like paranormal and romantic suspense this is right up your alley.

Trouble-
This book is about Mickey McKennan and Annora "Nora" Evers. Mickey doesn't pretend he is anything but what he is- a heartless, criminal and smooth talking womanizer. Everything that Nora should stay away from. But she is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. When someone from Nora's past threatens her Mickey goes into Alpha protective mode. Will Mickey be able to protect Nora?

Beautiful-
This book is about Simon Handover and Penny Ames. Penny had a deal with Handover Sr. and when he suddenly dies she is floundering not knowing how Jr is going to run the company. Simon comes in and takes his place running the company and has a proposition for a Penny. She feels she can do it, it's only a month and she'll be set up for life. But she doesn't count on having strong feelings for Simon. Penny and Simon are thrown into a world of Vampires and the Mafia, the Vampire Mafia?!?!

Collateral-
This book ends up being about Sosie Savage and ultimately J.M D'Avignon. Sosie is being held by the D'Avignon family for a mistake made by her father, they are a part of the Vampire Mafia. She has to serve the family in any way they see fit. She is trapped between the two D'Avignon brothers, Sebastien and J.M. Sebastien was a priest and had denounced the family, while J.M. always backed the family. Sebastien has a savior complex. J.M. is a total a** towards Sosie. She struggles with her budding feelings for her captors. With a war brewing with a rival family and the Cowboys closing in who will she trust?

Vengeful-
This book features Beau D'Avignon and Francesca Slight. The Slight family captured Beau and Francesca saves Beau from the torture her brother is inflicting upon him. The head of the Slight family has a proposition for Beau, and he doesn't know if it's a trap, the Slight family wouldn't give up their Princess.
Also Bellamy D'Avignon and Agent North, a Cowboy come to play. Tired of the inaction of her father helping her twin, Bellamy is walking in the wrong part of town and she is lectured by a good samaritan. When she turns her back the unexpected happens, there were gunshots and the good samaritan is bleeding out. In a split second she has a decision to make she turns him into a vampire. Once she gets him home everything goes awry, he is a Cowboy and you just don't turn Cowboys. Will she have to choose between love and family?

Ms. Wilder weaves a captivating tale about vampires, guns and gangs. I highly recommend this book!!!

I received an eARC of this book from the author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.

Y’all it’s been three years since I first read M.A. Wilder's The Té-Trad Tale. I have not-so-patiently been waiting for more from her. I loved her story-telling and writing style. So when I received an email from her just before Christmas asking if I’d read and review her new series, I was like

After I picked myself up off the floor, I immediately responded with a yes. I’ll be honest too, I didn’t even read what the book was about. I love Wilder’s other series that much! So I went into The Vampire Mafia blind. Y’all it’s amazing!

The Vampire Mafia is a collection of novellas that tell one large story from several different views. I became engrossed in each novella and read one a day until I finished. I loved how the author was able to make the cast of characters so unique. It’s hard to do this in novellas I think. I have found that a lot of times you get the main characters thoroughly fleshed out, but the side characters are usually flat. This isn’t the case here! All the characters are utilized and have their own unique identities which really makes for a great read.

As the name suggests, this book has an element of paranormal but also an element of mystery/thriller. Personally I enjoyed the mystery element to these novellas. Reading the first novella, I kept picturing those old, black and white detective movies despite the fact it’s set in the present. Then in the last novella, one of the characters reminded me of Humphrey Bogart, right down to the nickname of his girl.

My favorite of the four novellas is Collateral, which is the third in the series. It follows Sosie, a young woman who is being held by the vampires until her father can pay off his debt. I think the reason I like this one so well is the love interest. Rather than it being an insta-love/lust thing, it’s a slow build-up for Sosie. It’s interesting to read that slow build and how it plays out, especially in novella form. Plus I love J.M. He’s the ultimate bad-boy!

I loved the setting and world-building of these novellas. The story is set in the seedy underbelly of August, New York and focuses on the crime syndicate. I liked how the author built into the mafia-type world and gave it her own spin with the paranormal element of vampires. And friends, if you’ve read The Té-trad Tale trilogy, you’re in for some fun Easter eggs! I may or may not have squealed with excitement.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series. I liked each novella. There are some pretty graphic scenes of sex and gore which for me I can usually do without which is why it’s four instead of five stars, but that’s a personal preference and not a reflection on the story. The story itself is fantastic in my opinion! Oh and that ending!!!! Wilder has set it up for a sequel series and I'm crossing all my fingers and toes that it happens. If you enjoy mystery, horror, and urban paranormal romance, I highly recommend you grab a copy.

Book One is TROUBLE it's about Annora “Nora” Evers and Mickey McKennan.
Mickey is everything Nora should stay away from but when they meet her tame life seems to explode with Trouble. Mickey is handsome, smooth talking, and a womanizer but that doesn't stop Nora from falling into quick feelings for him. His deadly secrets seem to follow him everywhere but that still doesn't keep Nora away. When her past seems to be life threatening, who can she trust? Will she even come out alive?

Book two is Beautiful it's about Simon Handover and Penny Ames.
Simon Handover lost his father and has inherited his father's company along with all of his propositions. Penny Ames just happens to be that proposition. All she needs to do is make it through the month and she can leave leave and never come back. With his good looks and smooth talking Simon is more of a threat to Penny and her heart than she ever realizes. As Penny and Simon get closer together she stumbles into a crazy world of Vampires filled with guns, gangs, and she finds herself fighting for her life.

Book Three is Collateral it's about Sosie Savage and the D’Avignon brothers.
Sosie is taken hostage by the Vampire Mafia because of her father's mistake. She has only one thing in mind survive that is until the D’Avignon brothers start to vie for her attention. J.M. is destructive, devious, and dangerous. Whereas Sebastien is kind and acts as her savior. Both fascinate her and with her feelings clouding her mind she struggles with her feelings for the brothers and her need to escape. When the D’Avignon family in the beginnings of a war with a rival family and enduring run-ins with the Cowboys, she starts to question everything.

Book four is Vengeful it's about Beau D’Avignon and Francesca Slight along with Bellamy D’Avignon and Agent North.
Kidnapped and tortured isn't something on Beau D’Avignon bucket list but alas that's where we find him in the beginning of this book. When the sheltered daughter of the D'Avignon enemy, Francesca Slight intervenes Beau knows she also has stolen his heart. With them being from opposite side of the Mafia and in this Mafia War they might not make it out alive. Nor will their newfound love.
Bellamy is so frustrated with her father’s lack of action in retrieving her missing family, especially her twin brother Beau. She is determined to get her own answers but along the way she happens to cross paths with someone who is on the right side of the Law. He is tall, dark, and handsome and something inside her snaps with an instant connection. Bellamy makes a quick decision when a life-altering threat hits that changes their life forever.

This series was amazing. Let me start with the cover. It speaks to my inner love affair of vampire. Yes, i'm one of those people that judge a book by its cover. I have no shame in admitting it. And this book i would buy solely on that. Book one sucks you into this world of the Vampire Mafia who break the law and the Cowboys who uphold the law. I loved Mickey, he is a sexy man that knows what he has to offer woman. He is also a determined man. A man who will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he loves and try and keep his city from burning. He is like a criminal batman. No, not really but he is a sexy man. Now Nora she is just a big ball of trouble. Her getting mixed up with Mickey just brings her troubles to a head. I feel like she new that getting involved with him would lead to nothing but craziness but she just didn't realize how much. This book is mild in the craziness factor and just gets more and more from there.
Book two was a lot more beautiful in the love department. Simon new what he wanted, and he may or may not wanted to take over his father's company but he definitely wanted Penny. Penny is in a hot spot and doesn't quite know how to get out of it but when Simon offers her a way out. But i knew, i knew that she would lose her heart to him because he is so darn sweet. I felt his double personality also helped him.
Book three was a lot more intense. Sosie has what every woman dreams of having, two men wanting her. Granted one is a psycho and the other is a Priest. Now she has to decide which makes her heart beat fast. I didn't really care for Sebastien, i felt like he acted like he was to good for his family. He did enter Priesthood because he felt his family needed a different way. So i guess i can see it. Sosie also seems to be the one he wants to protect, like he has a herculean complex. Now J.M. that is a man i could get with including all his craziness. Granted he has two adult Vampire children that stay clear of him because well he has a short fuse, but Sosie seems to have a calming affect on him. But in all honesty when all hell breaks lose who do you want in your corner, the Priest or the Psycho? I know who i would choose. Like i said the craziness just keeps getting well crazy. And this book is no different. The war is starting between the two Families. There is many unanswered questions and even more animosity within the families.
Now book four most of the questions get answers but the end leave me with even more. This is the conclusion to an amazing series but it also is the start of even more amazingness. I need more.
In this book i loved how two sides of the law come together to fight the bigger picture. I was completely floored when everything came out in the open. I was extremely happy the Beau and Bellamy got their own book. You do see them in the other books but these are solely theirs. It switches off POV'S from Beau and Francesca to Bellamy and North. Might i also add i love the name Bellamy. Its unique and i have never heard that name before. They both have to fight for their love in the middle of this war. It's more than just a war between two Mafia families it's a war with August.
Trust me when i say you need to read this book. M.A. Wilder spins an amazing tale of intrigue, love, guns, Mafia, Vampires, and Cowboys. Their is suppose to be the good and bad guys but the lines are getting blurry when it comes to who is good and bad. I loved this story because it took you to the underbelly of the city of August. You see the secrets that everyone keeps has a way of coming out in the open when you least expect it. I feel like this book left off on a cliffhanger but it didn't. It's hard to explain unless you have read the book. So go forth and read it.

Trouble: Nora Evers thinks Mickey McKennan is a gorgeous sexy man despite that fact that he is a known criminal. Then she gets to meet him and it turns out that he can be nice but just for her. Things quickly spiral downward for Nora. Things are not as they seem and Mickey is the only person she feels like she can trust. Nora is the target for the man who killed her mother but there may be more to her mother’s death than she knows. Will Mickey be able to keep Nora safe?
Beautiful: Penny Ames was offered a chance at financial security all she had to do was sell her body to her boss for a year. Then her boss went and died before she ever got the chance. Then her boss’s son, Simon takes over and gives her the same offer with some exceptions’ more money and less time on the contract. Only real difference is that Penny could fall for Simon and want more than a month with him. Penny quickly realizes there is more going on that what she knows. Someone is after because she was next in line for the offer from Simon’s father and they think she knows something. Will Simon be able to keep her safe? Will Penny be able to keep her heart safe from Simon?
Collateral: Sosie is taken by the Vampire Mafia to pay for the mistakes of her father. She must survive in their house however her focus soon turns towards the brothers. J.M. and Sebastien both interest Sosie just in different ways. Sebastien seems to want her back however J.M. makes her feel something that both scares and excites her. Sebastien is warm and caring; J.M. is blunt and a bit scary. As things continue Sosie is forced to look at her loyalties to her family. Her father doesn’t care about what happens to her just where he gets his next fix. J.M. protects her as best he can even when he could get hurt himself.
Vengeful: Beau has been kidnapped and tortured. He thinks death is just a punch away and then Francesca Slight comes in the room. She is the daughter of his family’s sworn enemy. She isn’t treated any better by her family than Beau is. Beau knows the moment he hears her voice that she is it for him. He must save them both. Bellamy (Beau’s twin) is frustrated with the lack of information pertaining to her brother and goes to find some herself. While doing so she witnesses someone murdered. The man had just tried to save her and so she does the only thing she can and bites him; finding out afterward that he is a cowboy. What will happen now?
Each book flows very well into the next one. I was hooked right away and couldn’t wait to read what happened next. I would love to read more about these characters in the future. The characters are so real and jump off the page at you. These books have romance, mystery, suspense, and more. I highly recommend this box set. I like the last book the best. Everyone comes together and I must say Beau and Bellamy’s stories are my favorite of the couples. Followed by Sosie and J.M.. I look forward to reading more by A.M. Wilder in the future.

description
Vampires, guns, betrayal and love – it’s got it all!
This collection is an interesting concept, blending the bloodthirstiness of vampires with the same of the mafia, stir (or shake depending on your preference) and see what happens. In this instance it turned out pretty well, even if I finished each story feeling like a lot happened in a very short period.
Each intertwined story has a couple, a love match, and follows their romance as it builds within the over-arching plot. The men are alphas – no matter their age – and the women are strong and independent, ready to fight for themselves and those they love… Sigh… I hope that doesn’t sound too sappy because what these stories are not is sickly sweet.
“…and it’s all very one, two, three.”
The family feuds, the gun battles, the romance, the little fact that there are vampires in this world is all dealt with in a very common sense, matter of fact way. Vampires are humans, humans are vampires and except for sudden fangs, super-human killing strength and a different taste for liquid, the paranormal aspect is given little sensationalism. The romance seems to get the same treatment as the insta-love that occurs with each of the couplings fits the same rhythm.
I liked the characters in this series and the surprises and twists, the challenges they faced, had my attention from start to finish. And of course a few words of wisdom are always helpful!

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

It took me three days to read these wonderful stories because my body screamed for sleep. If I could have overridden my body's needs, I would have read these in one sitting.

Each story ties to the one before it with a little bit of back story from the new POVs. One of the best boxsets I've read in a long time. I was excited when I read the first couple of paragraphs because I could feel how intriguing and different these stories were going to be.

Unlike any other vampire books I've read, I loved the way things played out in each story. I wish there was more story to read because when I got to the end, I wasn't ready for it to be over.

I must admit, I was enjoying these stories so much, my husband would frequently ask me if I needed to see a psychiatrist. Although, that might have something to do with me laughing when people would get or almost get killed. Eh.

Grab this boxset and enjoy the underworld of August, New York. You just might find a Happily Ever After with a vampire or two.

This is a series that may fill your need to read mafia romance and/or paranormal romance. There is some violence but nothing too graphic that you would feel ill while reading. Something you will have to decide is how graphic you like your sex. For me both the paranormal and mafia aspects are very subtle – it’s more about the mystery and suspense. Each story is a novella, which is great for someone that is short on time. And each story flows well from one to the next. As you go along from story to story you realize that there is connection to them.

We have a great beginning with Trouble. Annora “Nora” Evers is transfixed by the man who has come into the theater. Michael “Mickey” McKennan is a man of mystery. And there’s plenty of mystery to this story. What outside forces have put these two in the same space? What connects them? Left me wondering how their story ends. The author also piqued my interest with a secondary character named Penelope.

We then have a great ending with Vengeful. Beau D’Avignon is in need of some serious help. Bellamy D’Avignon is a woman who can hold her own. This novella gives you two stories for the price of one. Beau and Bellamy’s stories are different but they weave together very well. But don’t expect an ending – I smell the beginning of another series, maybe.

I enjoyed having the option of reading one or maybe two stories before I had to go and do some work. I didn’t feel lost when I picked this set up as I continued on. It did however leave me wanting more. Now you have to decide if you feel the same.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

The Vampire Mafia by M.A. Wilder

This series was incredible! Vampire's and Mafia's, my two favorite things. I think this Author wrote this series just for me. I loved it.
Trouble, Beautiful, Collateral and Vengeful were well written stories that feed the imagination.
The amazing cast of characters were breathtaking. So well thought out, each one special and unforgettable.
A pulse pounding read that will let your imagination soar. A riveting story of a Vampire Mafia in the fight for their life. The ending was shocking and I want more....

I give Vampire Mafia 5 stars for its compelling series.
I would recommend this story to Adults.

Vampire Mafia is a paranormal romance book by M.A. Wilder. I'm not too big on Vampire books any more but I have to say, I really enjoyed this series. Each book focuses on a couple but the main story line flows through the four books. During the first book I was a little confused since it didn't really talk about the Mafia and honestly that couple didn't have much to do with the rest of the story but it all came together in the end. I wish it wouldn't have ended, I felt there were quite a few people that didn't get their story told and I would have loved to read their story. M.A. Wilder did a great job telling this story, with its twists and turns and shocking revelations is kept me reading on and wanting more. I enjoyed reading it and hope there is an extension of it in the future.

This is still just not it. I'm almost tempted to drop my rating.

Original Review

Nope nope nope nope.

I really, really dislike this.

Honestly, I love vampires. But mafia + vampires? I was sold.

But this? This is a huge no from me.

description

The first book was a mess for me. Barely meets the guy, then a few pages later he helps her out. Then, and I kid you not, he calls her "babe" like 5 pages later. Suddenly they're in a relationship. Yeah, no. I'm sorry, but other books the same length make it more believable. Then we get no evidence of vampire at all until the 2nd to last chapter... And it was so half-assed.

2nd book tries to be more 50 shades themed, so the whole romance thing kinda goes with that. Ok, I can roll with that, but once again... the vampire part is half-assed. We get some type of brief explanation, and the pacing right after that is all over the place. I hated this one more than the 1st book.

3rd book. I just couldn't with this. It was absolutely ridiculous. We get full-frontal vampire action, but it's so...comical. I couldn't even enjoy this one. I ended up DNFing halfway through this one. I couldn't even bother with finishing it, let alone going to the final book.

This was just a mess. A huge fucking mess and a letdown tbh. It doesn't help that there are major time lapse and pacing issues. Honestly, avoid this like the plague.

Vampire Mafia written by M.A. Wilder is a four book series. The series is intertwined and each book tells the same story and carries it on from the different characters perspectives. This isn’t your typical vampire book. In fact, there isn’t much mention of them in the first book. However, as the story moves on this changes. It should be noted that the characters aren’t typical vampires. There is not a lot of blood drinking and councils like you expect in vampire stories. So if you don’t typically read vampire story for those reasons, this might be a vampire series for you.

The book focuses on the mafia and the alpha men who are involved in it. These stories are instalove stories. Since these books involve the mafia, it wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of action. This is an enjoyable series and really good place to start if you aren’t quite sure how you feel about vampires. It’s full of hot alpha men, plenty of steam, and suspense.

I'm an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock.
Vampire Mafia.... Is the title of the book(s) well you would think the first book would have vampires nope not even mentioned to chapter 7 and that's just with a V.... like someone's getting ready to say the word but stops themselves. The books follow the life of two vampire families and their "friends". They have great character development, a great plot, and great sexual content (hot, hot). Just so you know when a vampire falls in love they fall hard and fast. Not a short read so be ready to sit back with this book and enjoy sometime away. Will be looking for more books by this author.. Dream big and play bigger...

This is the first I have read by MA and I have to admit that I was hooked from the first page and binge read until the very last one. I loved these novellas with each one giving a new cast of characters to fall for and immerse into their world. MA mixes this paranormal world with a bit of suspense to surround each story. I really liked that about each one. There is some serious scorch too which was most definitely a bonus. I so enjoyed this series.

I give The Vampire Mafia 4 hearts!

I love this twist on a vampire story , i also love the way the characters interlink from one book to the next , its like the godfather with fangs .Plenty of action in these books & its hard to tell who are the good guys & who is the bad ones . Strong men & vampires will do anything to protect the women they love . my personal favourite is J.M D'Avignon , a character so complicated he will make your head spin .

I enjoyed it

Something different from the normal romantic comedy i read. I like how it’s tied into the Té-Trad series, which is also a good read. It covers great details with all the characters and how they came to be. Just a small back round not to much but just enough. I with this was in audible. If it ever comes out I’m sure I’d enjoy that more. I say take a chance and read it. You wont be sorry.
