I love this reference. It has saved my bacon more than a few times. I am always trying new foods, recipes, and ingredients, and sometimes I have no clue how to prepare the ingredients or vegetables I bring home. Other times I need to find a substitution for an obscure ingredient. This guide has high quality pictures, with great descriptions, buying and storing instructions, preparation methods, and often regional information and/or history. I highly recommend it.
