I didn't really enjoy this. I didn't find any of the jokes to be funny. They haven't aged well--particularly in the way some of the jokes deal with women characters.

Nostalgia!

Worth it for the Don Martin “Superhero Sound Effects” alone, it was nice to revisit some other MAD superhero topics from my past, plus a few from the early days of MAD.

I love superheroes and I love cartoons and I love Mad Magazine, so I fucking LOVE this book. If my wife would let me, I’d have it sitting proudly on our coffee table, but I guess my bedside table will have to do because that is apparently the only little area I get to control when it comes to displaying my stuff… and even that is somewhat regulated. But this book sits there proudly!

In this Graphic novel written by MAD Magazine, is illustrated comic strips about superheroes. But the difference between the original superhero graphic novels and this one, is that in "Mad about Super Heroes" they are actually making fun of the heroes and of the way the story was written. I mostly enjoyed this graphic novel because i noticed thing i had not noticed before, such as how a character can all of a sudden be doing something out of nowhere, that has absolutely nothing to do with anything. This just makes me realize that when we don't think about it Graphic novels make so much sense, but if you are being logical, they really are just confusingly random. This Graphic novel has 176 pages of pure comedy. It can be enjoyed for all different ages, and even if you are not a superhero fan it can still be a very eye-opening, interesting graphic novel to read.

Alfred E. Newman strikes again! MAD magazine began as a parody of comic books and strips. This collection brings together many of their best super hero parodies from several decades of publication, including the early work and spoofs of comic book movies. Much of it is dated, most parodies and spoofs become dated, but there is much to entertain those of us with long memories. Some of these stories are more inspired than others, but pretty much everything is some kind of fun.

Some old stuff and some new. Enjoyed it but it was dragging a little at the end. Made me think I might get some of the Superman, Batman, X-Men, etc., movies and see what the hell the parodies are about.
