This book is now available in a re-written (and greatly improved-upon) version called International Rock Christian Edgy Contemporary Fiction (Rock Star Redemption Series Book Three).
I highly recommend reading the new version! -Julie
Center stage can’t last forever.
Even a rock band as talented as Buxton Peak can come crashing down.
Protecting his bride from cameras and scandals is the least of Ian’s worries. While he is blinded by love, his band is torn apart by distractions, temptations, and drug abuse.
Will Ian stand beside his mates, letting their problems become his problems? Can they pull together as a band? Or will the pressures of stardom rip them apart?
Book 2 in a series, but can be read in any order; Romance, clean; LDS characters This was a fun read. Ian's fame has made it difficult to date or find someone that he is attracted to. Megan and Ian are trying to keep it low, and the band is having difficulties and Band members make some mistakes and have some surprises, tragedies, and hurts added to the mix. Megan's rush to see Ian and introduction to the fans was a lovely fun moment. Ian and Megan's obvious chemistry was lovely and added depth and dimension to the story. Their commitment so contrasted with the other band members lifestyles and habits. The whole concert, the music, the compositions, fun setting, and the living real and gritty. Loved it! Another hit for me!
I am just amazed by the emotion expressed in this book. I really love the characters and want to follow them through the story. There is love inspired scenes, friendships formed, emotions of pain and fear, a wide scope of events.
I wasn't too drawn in by the book blurb, but the excerpt I read at the end of book one made me pick up this book and I'm glad I did. Although it felt more like a transitioning book as it relates to a plot line, I still loved the several different events the characters experienced. It really added more to their character development.
This is a continuation of the love story of Ian and Megan and the Buxton peak band. In this story we also see more of Kai and his love interest. I enjoyed this story. It kept me entertained. The only thing I didn’t like was the baby delivery scenario. I’m much too picky about delivery scenes since I have worked as a labor and delivery nurse for many years. But the emotion behind that scene was really good none the less.
Ok, so they changed the name, the cover and the series numbering. It's the same write up as the 'International Rock Star' on Amazon. Again, no indication that this was previously published under another name or cover on GR. I'm finally seeing...
***Note*** This book was originally published under the title Buxton Peak Book Two: Center Stage. The author gave it a new title and cover to more accurately reflect the story ** on the Amazon site.
Awesome. I loved seeing how the relationships of the band mates and their girls developed and how they learned to support each other in new and exciting ways. I laughed out loud during several scenes. Seeing Megan learn to deal with the public eye and attention and still find peace in the love she feels for Ian is inspiring. Beautiful sequel to book one.
The kids are all growing up. Being faithful to the Lord above. Their lives are moving forward in a great rate. I love that Megan knows her husband well enough that she can tell he needs to get back to the band without him having to go to her. I have enjoyed both books an I am looking forward for the next.
Wow this had a lot of ups and downs. Boys becoming men and growing up. I've loved this series and getting to know each character. Does stuff like this happen to rock stars? Can't wait to read the next one.😊
Kai and Rhonda’s story was beautiful. The Lord conquers all. Baby Sean is proof. I really like Julie’s way of mixing all the band into each book. It makes for a real life vision of the story.
WOW! This one is actually a 4.5 stars. I loved this book! I love how Ian is described but still give you imagination. Great storyline. Growth. Just down right great book. Great Job Julie!
I loved this installment in the saga. I love how the marriage was portrayed cleanly, yet still captured the essence. The narration was really well done. I love this series so much!
This is an intriguing look at rock star life for members of a band and their significant others.
Megan’s not used to the rock star life. As she’s drawn into her husband Ian’s world, the glamour of stage life is overwhelming. Her best friend Rhonda has surprises of her own. What did Megan expect when Rhonda was dating the lead guitar player for the band Buxton Peak?
This novel is gripping from the start. Just when the story seems to settle into normalcy for the two couples of whom the novella is about, turmoil surfaces once again. Will the band be able to pull back together?
The magic of this story is rooted in the faith of the characters. Megan and Ian share the same faith. Kai and Rhonda don’t believe in God, but Ian has enough faith for all of them. The most touching part of the story, and the part that had me tearing up, was when Ian used his priesthood power and bestowed a blessing on Rhonda. The real power of such a sacred moment is expressed in this fictional story with beautiful finesse.
It’s hard to classify this story into a particular genre. It has romance, but it doesn’t follow the traditional romantic plotline because the guy already has the girl. The story is a combination of rock star romance, Christian romance, and college romance. And while the story is a tearjerker for some, it is definitely an inspirational story.
Recommended for those who like a clean story, tension, and just a sweet ending.
Reader Rated for ages 15+ for mild substance use; also contains passionate kissing and sexual innuendo.
This book picks up where Buxton Peak: Who is Ian Taylor? Megan and Ian are now married, and their relationship continues to develop. Their bond is strong, and they have their differences to overcome. Their determination to support each other comes through with their actions. It is very refreshing how their relationship is supportive of each other and not abusive.
Intertwined is Kai and Rhonda's story. Be prepared for all your emotions to be engaged. These two find themselves growing up faster than they wanted. And what better friends then Ian and Megan can they have as they face their journey?
