I was really anticipating Riley's story in the 'Howling Wolf' series. He is the third brother and the one I know the least about except for the baby brother, Harris. Ty is a cat shifter and pregnant to boot so this story is already different from the previous two installments. I can't wait to see what a dog and a cat can do to each other!
Ty and Riley had a seriously hot night not too long ago and even though they both felt severe emotions for the other, they lied about having them the next day and each went on their own way. Now Ty is back, pregnant, and he's got a psycho werelion after him. Riley is terrified of being a father because of a painful moment in his past, but he and Ty both acknowledge they are mates and it's time to step up the adulting.
I was somewhat disappointed to discover the similarities in this story to the previous two novellas. Skull, the psychotic werelion who wants Ty, has sent his little half brother, Dill, a bobcat shifter, into town to make friends with Ty and lure him away. Dill has come to like Ty and doesn't want to do this but Skull has been emotionally, verbally, and physically abusing him for so long that he doesn't see any other options. Riley and his brothers come to the rescue along with their mates and no harm comes to Ty or the baby.
It was really good to get a glimpse under the teasing, joking, mask that Riley has worn for so long and to understand why. He and Ty are very sweet and gentle together and overall this was an enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to Harris's story although I'm already fairly certain I know who his mate is. It will still be fun to finish this series that revolves around these brothers.

As a pregnant omega they can't shift during pregnancy.... so why oh why is it that Ty shifted to human form along with Riley when returning from the location of Riley's big secret?
Other than this major discrepancy... Yes I say that. Why? It is strongly intimated that this is what happened at this time in the story while not outright saying it. Strong indication to me.
Other than...Its ok. I didn't like that TY was the one using baby as endearment. Just seemed strange and odd to me in this context. Plus I didn't feel like there was a lot of ....conflict, blocks, issues?... to them getting together. Riley runs away after finding out, comes back, finds mate and they move in together. Granted they are together for a week (from one moment to the next 7 days later...) kind of as roommates and then they are all over each other and mated. I can deal with fast. This one just not quite enough to get me into fast though. So that's why I just say Ok.

Ty comes into town looking for Riley since he happened to be pregnant with Riley's baby. He's also running from a cruel rogue shifter named, Skull (a perfect name for a villain). This story was intense with danger, betrayal, action, and lots of steamy passion. The story progressed at a smooth pace, and there were quite a few editing issues, but I still enjoyed this intriguing and touching story. Loved the strong sense of family.
