I always have high exceptions when I start a Susan Stoker book and she never disappoints. She is a talented author who creates characters that draw you into the story and leaves you eagerly anticipating the next book. This is the second book in the Ace Security series with Blake, the middle brother and Alexis taking the spotlight. Although it is part of a series you do not have to read the first book to understand the plot…but why wouldn’t you? Alexis works with Blake at Ace Security, the brothers’ security firm. She has been attracted to Blake since she started working there but struggles with insecurities regarding relationships. In order to help gain information on a violent gang she volunteers to go undercover using a previous middle/high school friendship. She knows that she is risking grave danger if she is discovered but with Blake as her back up the risks should be manageable. But, of course, things do not work out as planned. This is a great addition to the series with lots of action.

Claiming Alexis is the second book in the Ace Security Series. An action-packed romance with passion, Susan Stoker packs quite a punch. Alexis is an intern for Ace Security and the Anderson Brothers. Although she has been attracted to Blake from day one, she has been anxious about taking the next step and letting her feelings be known. When Alexis is put in danger, as she goes undercover in a dangerous gang, Blake realizes how precious she is. Blake and Alexis share a passionate connection but with danger lurking around every corner, it will take strength and perseverance to overcome!

"I want to be the first, and hopefully, the only man who will ever be inside you."
Told in multiple POV, Claiming Alexis is full of romance, action, and non-stop suspense. The plot is full of twists and turns and the anticipation is real as Alexis goes undercover and is swept into danger. Although the attraction is immediate between the two main characters, it takes precious time for their bond to truly form. This slow burn romance is sure to please fans of contemporary romance who enjoy action and suspense.

Claiming Alexis is the second book in the series and it picks up not far after the 1st book left off. In this book, Ace Security is focusing on the gang that was hired to take compromising pictures of Grace and Alexis's brother from the first book. Ace Security is focusing on shutting the gang down.

I love seeing all the same characters from the first book and I really liked Blake and Alexis as our main characters. I was glad to see Blake be more proactive in his pursuit of Alexis. I did think the book focused a little too much on her low self esteem. I'm not much of a fan about body issues in romance books.

Overall this was an enjoyable read and the hints to the next book were intriguing. It looks like we haven't seen the last of the gang. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Meh. Something about Stoker's more recent novels just do not work for me. The dialogue is stilted and there is just no chemistry. I felt nothing. It was an ok listen when I could be distracted because I was not invested enough to care about missing something.

The suspense plot was ridiculous. No man would voluntarily put an untrained woman in that position. Another reason I did not believe it.

I liked Alexis.. but sometimes she also annoyed me too?

Claiming Alexis is the second book of the Ace Security series. In it, you will meet Alexis and Blake. If you read/listened to the previous book, well... you would've met them. Once you did, well once I did, I totally saw that they were going to become a couple. I didn't expect any of the drama that happened though.

Okay, so Alexis is sort of intern at Ace. She goes undercover, which ends up not going well - at all. It's with the gang that took Grace captive in the first book, and she unfortunately runs into someone from her past. Ugh, I hated that skank and I don't even want to mention her name. I will mention that these people took advantage of her and her money. Again, I hated this whole situation.. even if she was undercover and was playing the role of a ditzy rich girl.

Other than that, I loved the little smut that I got between Alexis and Blake. I especially liked her drunk and the way he tried to handle her talking. It was hilarious.. but other than that, everything else was just okay. I'm glad that everyone in his family appeared in this book and I sort of can't wait to dive into Bailey's book. Mostly because I just want to know more about the third brother - he's just so freaking mysterious!

3.5 stars are more accurate. I did like this one better than book 1.

Alexis joins Ace Security and immediately falls in love with Blake. However, it is not until she decides to put herself in danger by going undercover in the Inca gang to try to gain more evidence against them and their "bad deeds for hire" business plan that Blake realizes he likes her too. The assignment gets more and more dangerous until Blake must save her from the bad guys.

I liked Alexis much better than Grace from book 1. Blake is just as good of a guy as Logan was, so they are about even. The plot in this one was much more exciting (a little hard to believe at times, but definitely more exciting), but there was very little smut considering how much Alexis and Blake talk about sex with one another. Maybe I should develop a separate smut rating for the romances I read. I would only give this one a 2 out of 5.

I'm so happy I picked this series back up. Where I liked the first installment, I LOVED this one. Although it's not necessary to read the first book prior to this one, I strongly recommend it. It's always a good idea to read the stories in order. Even if they can be read as standalones.

Alexis is the sister of the brother who was being used in the first book (see, told you you should read the first one). She's also the rich girl who everyone has already labeled before getting to know her. Like, truly getting to know who she is. Everyone has always assumed who she was and she's tired of it. When she first got involved with Ace Security, she was immediately drawn to one person in particular, Blake. And now that she's working closely with him, she's fallen in love with him. But she's not his "type" and nothing will ever happen, right?

Blake is one of the triplets that run Ace Security. After everything that went down with his brother's wife and the Inca Boyz, Ace Security is out for redemption. So Blake and Alexis have been working closely to get as much information on the gang as possible. When Alexis volunteers to help them "get in" with the gang, feelings and emotions start to take over and there's no stopping them. Maybe getting Alexis involved wasn't such a good idea.

Do you know why I loved this story? Because Alexis was determined to prove that she was someone. Not only to those from her past, but to herself. She never gave up. She put herself in really stupid situations. But it was always for the better of the case, even when she was forced to deal with some demons from her past. Blake was sweet and gentle and every bit the manly man we thought he'd be.

And now I'm seriously biting my fingernails until I get Nathan's story. OMG! If my imagination is heading in the right direction, we're in for another crazy Inca/Ace showdown. And I can't wait!!!

Whew! Susan Stoker puts her peeps through the WRINGER! Yeesh! *laugh* But, that's part of what I like about the stories. Blake & Alexis start out as co-workers on Blake's side - and he's not too sure about how long even that is going to last. He finally figures out that Lex is a smart, capable, brave, loving woman, and decides - in true lovable caveman fashion - that she is his. *hearts*

Alexis, for her part, has been in love with Blake from the get-go, and I absolutely ADORED her obsession w/ his ... you'll just have to see. It felt like a fairly unique part to be obsessed with, and I enjoyed it! ; )

The action is intense, the banter excellent, and the steamy times - STEAMY. Definitely a 5+++ read & as always I'm looking forward to the next in the series. The tease we get at the end is ... Ooooh!!! : )

Claiming Alexis is the second book in Susan Stoker’s Ace Security Series. I did not read the first book, Claiming Grace, so there were a few questions that lingered throughout. However, those gaps in information did not take away from my overall enjoyment of Claiming Alexis. The Ace Security series centers around three brothers who own a security firm in Colorado. They were abused by their mother growing up and eventually, she killed their father, Ace. Because of their abuse, Ace Security focuses on helping victims of abuse.

The three brothers are Logan, Blake, and Nathan Anderson. Logan’s story was featured in the first book, Claiming Grace, where Ace Security rescued his now wife Grace from a dangerous gang called the Inca Boyz. This time, the focus is on Blake Anderson and his budding relationship with Ace Security’s newest employee, Alexis Grant. She initially came aboard to help them take down the Inca Boyz who had kidnapped her brother in the first book. Now, Alexis is finding it hard to hide her attraction to Blake as they work together more and more. Alexis agrees to go undercover to get closer to a former friend who is directly connected to the Inca Boyz. As the intensity of this undercover op increases, so does the relationship between Blake and Alexis. There is plenty of dirty talking before they even get between the sheets. And when they finally do get naked, it’s nothing short of erotic.

The suspense throughout the book is just as intense as Blake and Alexis’ relationship. It was very hard to watch Alexis go into the lion’s den on numerous occasions as she interacted with the Inca Boyz. They were very brutal, callous, and just plain old scary guys who had no regard for women. Consequently, some of the imagery is very disturbing. At some point, I found myself speeding through the book just so that I could see justice served. The gang members had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The climax was worth the wait and I loved seeing Blake in action doing what the military taught him to do. I look forward to the next book and may have to go back and read the first one.

Another great book from Susan Stoker. I shouldn't even be surprised at this point. Every single series and book is outstanding. Claiming Alexis was no exception. What I absolutely love is that there's no dragging on at the start of each book. There have been plenty of books I've read in the past month alone where I find myself bored because the story has taken so long to get into. But that's never been the case with Stoker's books. The same can be said for Claiming Alexis. We're taken straight into the story, straight into the mindset of the characters.

The story itself is riveting and exciting. You feel for these characters. Your heart is racing when one is in trouble. But I've always found this with Stoker's series. You connect with the characters, the story, the ups and downs, so easily that you end up becoming a part of the story.

I'm completely in love with the Ace Security series, and I think I even love this one a tad more than the first. The ending only made me more intrigued to read the next one, and I cannot wait for it to come out. Definitely recommend!

I love Susan Stoker’s heroes. They are all alpha, all protective, and all in. Blake was no different. When he first meets Alexis he doesn’t see her for who and what she really is, but after working with her for a few months he’s decided she’s exactly what he wants. Alexis has never fit in and after a traumatic event during her school years, she has learned to keep a part of herself protected. However, Blake has those yummy arms that star in her dreams and she’s doing all she can to keep him from knowing she wants to be more than just friends and coworkers.

Amidst the drama of a local gang investigation, this couple heat up the pages as Alexis goes undercover and Blake goes ballistic. I loved this storyline as well as the secondary characters. Looking for a quick, steamy read, low in angst but high in action? Claiming Alexis will fit the bill.

This is book two of the Ace Security series and I think this is one of those books where it is definitely better to have read the first in the series. This book picks up almost immediately after the first book ended and features Blake and Alexis. Alexis is the sister of Brandon who was one of several victims in the first book. Because of what happened to her brother, Alexis is determined to help the Anderson brothers take down the Inca Boyz gang. Even if it means putting herself at risk to do so.
While Alex has a crush on Blake, initially Blake only sees Alex as a co-worker. However, once he realizes his true feelings look out everyone. This was an enjoyable friends to lovers story with a bit of Susan Stoker's trademark suspense thrown into the mix. Looking forward to the next book in the series which will feature Nathan, the third Anderson brother and most likely the missing former girlfriend of the gang leader.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

DNF early on.
Heroine is a virgin, the Hero very experienced. Not very imaginative.
Also we have the cliché of the Hero dating lots of strong, tall, thin and independent women. Heroine is small, wights a bit more, has a sweet tooth, eats a lot and is in need of a protector (at least the Hero likes to think so). He decides then that he was wrong all the time before and truly needs someone like the Heroine. That's fine and all, but I just don't like it when all women before are suddenly marked as mistakes just because they're tall and live independently.
And Hero is really hung up about her parents being rich.

Claiming Alexis (Ace Security 2) by Susan Stoker
Narrated by Erin Bennett
Romantic Suspense, 2nd in a series about different couples. It is better if you read Claiming Grace first.
While I had a few issues with Grace in Claiming Grace , I still really enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the mix of romance, suspense and alpha male. So right after listening to it, I grabbed Claiming Alexis by Susan Stoker . Alexis was introduced in the first book, and I do think that this book would read much better if you read Claiming Grace first.

Blake is the second brother of the triplets that own Ace Security. He’s the computer dude, and a little more quietly alpha than the other guys.

Alexis grew up rich and has been fighting off people’s judgements of her because of it her whole life. People use her for her money so she never really got close to anyone (Read: VIRGIN). Alexis has been flitting around from job to job after graduating with a degree in general studies. But after helping them out at Ace Securities in Claiming Grace, Alexis wants to do more in the PI business. And she wants to take down the gang who was involved in the incidents of the first book.
He wanted to know the real Alexis Grant. Because Blake had a feeling that woman was going to be the most precious thing he’d ever found in his entire life . . . if he could keep her safe from herself.

This isn’t instalove. The couple work together, they each silently have a thing for each other (especially her), but they don’t jump on it. So she is thrilled when she realizes her crush has feelings back.
She, Alexis Grant, virgin extraordinaire, had apparently managed to catch the attention of one of the sexiest men in Castle Rock. Oh shit.

While I enjoyed the book, I found myself doing some eye rolling. I am not a big fan of adult virgin books, but I guess the title says it all.
As she lay snoring lightly in his arms, Blake vowed that she’d be his. He’d be the only man to see her naked. The only man to get inside her. The only man she’d dream about. She was his.

But what really made me eye roll was that they let this society girl go undercover into killer gangs! WTF? And the cops allowed it too!

Still, I was glued to my headphones to see what happened, so despite the cheesiness, it was a fun listen.

Likes:

•Kept me engaged the whole time.
•The tie-in with Claiming Grace.
•Blake is great.
•Quick and angst free
•Set up well for the next.

Dislikes:

•3rd person.
•Adult virgin.
•They sent an inexperienced society girl undercover into killer gangs!
•I never really felt a huge chemistry with the couple.

The Narration:
It’s third person, but the narrator was excellent. I think her narration enhanced the book.

Note:
Don't listen to out loud if you have any Alexa enabled devices! They were going NUTS because "Alexis" (said a LOT in 3rd person) sounds just like "Alexa"!

The Down and Dirty:
I wanted to love this book! I hear amazing things about Susan Stoker and though I enjoyed it and wanted to listen to the whole thing and was engaged in the story, I found myself doing a lot of eye rolling. It just felt like an old fashioned bodice ripper my grandma would read sometimes. The whole virgin thing made it feel more New Adult than adult to me. Reading other reviews, it seems her fans don’t love this series as much as the others. Since her storylines keep me riveted with the perfect blend of romance and suspense, I definitely want to try a story from another one of her series.

Rating: 3 Stars, 3.5 Heat, 5 Narration

Alexis Grant is now working with Ace Security. She helped her brother Brad and Grace when they were in trouble and me the guys of Ace. Alexis had love at first site of Blake Anderson. Blake had no idea that Alexis felt that way but he himself was starting to have deeper feelings for his coworker now friend now hopefully more. Blake would catch Alexis checking out his arms and started flexing them more and wearing more short sleeves to see if he was right.

The two confess there attraction to one another and Lexi admits to being a virgin at 25. Blake knows he has to go slow with this and make sure its what she wants.

Lexi goes undercover in hopes of betting info on the Inca Boys Gang and stopping them from hurting anymore people.

Lexi is funny and sweet. She is quick witted and matches perfectly with Blake. I love the friendship they develop and glad that it was friends first before the relationship. This story had suspense, romance, sex, love, family......

I have never really been a fan of Susan Stoker. That being said I read the first in the series and while I wasn't over the mood I thought I would try out book two. The titles of the book totally annoys me and I needed to push that out of my mind.
Once the story starts I found myself enjoying the characters an for once the over the top Alpha wasn't as annoying as I thought
The story is your basic one falls in love right away and figures the other one doesn't see her that way. This made for some cute moments that helps release someone action and suspense side of the story.
Blake and Alexis are very easy to like and while the story sets readers up for the next brother to fall in love and with whom the action, nicely written action romance will keep readers and new readers very happy.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an advance copy for my thoughts thought

***3 Stars***

It pains me to say this because I am a huge fan of Susan Stoker, but this one just didn’t do it for me. It was enjoyable and all that, but I just couldn’t get fully invested in the story. Part of my issues stem from a few things that happened early on that just didn’t sit right with me for one reason or another and the other part was that while I liked Blake and Alexis, I didn’t fall in love with either of them. I wanted to and I actually liked how their relationship progressed but my feelings never went beyond like for either of them

As for the main plot line of the book. It was done well, though I did figure out how things would turn out early on, but I liked how it all played out and how it leads us into the next book in the series, Claiming Bailey, which I am looking forward to because not only do I want to know more about Nathan and really liked the little tease/set up of what we have to look forward to.

The first book in the series was not so great, but this was a definite improvement and now I can’t wait to read the next one!

It starts off kinda slow, which is unusual for this author as almost all her other books are five star reads for me, but it picks up at about 40% or so and gets better and better.

I’m betting book 3 is a five star, but I’ve got a couple weeks before it is released :(

••••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars-- CLAIMING ALEXIS is the second installment in Susan Stoker’s contemporary, adult ACE SECURITY erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the Anderson triplets (Blake, Logan and Nathan) and the family owned Ace Security. This is Ace Security co-owner and security specialist Blake Anderson, and new Ace Security intern and heiress Alexis Grant’s story line. CLAIMING ALEXIS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading book one CLAIMING GRACE as much of the current story line premise is a direct result of the events in book one.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Blake and Alexis) CLAIMING ALEXIS follows Alexis Grant as she goes undercover to ferret our information about the Inca Boyz gang, their involvement in the recent attempts to destroy Grace’s (Claiming Grace) life, and her brother Bradford’s entanglement in the blackmail scheme between Inca Boyz and Grace’s parents. While Alexis volunteers to go undercover, Blake struggles with his growing love for the woman that calls to his heart. What ensues are Alexis’s struggle and pursuit to be accepted by the Inca Boyz gang, and the fall out when the ruse is uncovered by someone from Alexis’s past.

CLAIMING ALEXIS is a friend to lovers romance that focuses on the quick building relationship between Alexis and Blake. Alexis has some issues of self esteem that center on what she believes are her less than exemplary physical attributes, and the uncomfortable circumstances that her parent’s money has placed upon her personal and emotional inability to trust. Blake has been attracted to Alexis from the very
start, and his proclamation of need and love is quickly replaced by fear when Alexis volunteers to go undercover with the Inca Boyz gang. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate; Alexis is a virgin whose lack of experience is quickly replaced by exploration and a man who is willing to take his time with the woman he loves. A drunk Alexis tells it like it is; and Blake likes to talk dirty in the bedroom.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Logan and Grace (Claiming Grace #1), Nathan Anderson, as well as several members of the Inca Boyz gang.

Alexis’s lack of experience as it pertained to the undercover operation is disturbing especially when everything begins to fall apart. The circumstances were dangerous and life threatening even though Blake and the others claimed to be a heartbeat away. I question the believability of such actions and placing a civilian in the direct line of fire but such is the world of fictional story lines and sometimes, in the end, believability is to be suspended.

CLAIMING ALEXIS is a spirited story line. The premise is energetic; the characters are enthusiastic; the romance is provocative and intense-Alexis’s lack of experience and inability to hold her booze leads to some rather unorthodox comments and actions. The reality of the undercover operation is questionable.

What I love most about this book is that this wasn’t instalove. We have Blake and Alexis. Alexis is gunshy. She is not as experienced and wary due to people only liking her due to her money. But she likes Blake. No she loves Blake and keeps it secret afraid he doesn’t feel the same. Blake feels the same for Alexis but is taking it slow so she can feel safe and comfortable. He knows she is gunshy and doesn’t want her to run because for him his feelings are very real and the forever kind of love. Blake didn’t just jump into love but had it build as he got to know Alexis.

The protectiveness of Blake is super alpha but also I think what helps make Alexis feel safe with him. She knows that he is always there for her and this helps her relax. The brothers are awesome. So open and close. They had been through so much in the past that it’s great to see them working together and there for one another.

I like how in this story Alexis shows how strong she is. She may have been in the past trying to find what she wanted to do with her life but her she was out to prove something to herself and others. She was out to prove that she is smart and resourceful. That she can do the job and wants to be at the security company for the long haul. So she puts herself in the path of danger and becomes something she isn’t to stop a gang. Does beautifully at it too. Blake and his brothers are impressed and protect her with all they have as well. when things turn deadly Blake is there. His brothers help him and they show Alexis they are family and she is one of them.

The romance of the story is hot and sinful. But also tender and sweet. We see them learn about each other in many intimate ways. We see the love and respect they both have for one another but also the trust that each has for each other. That trust is beautifully written. I do look forward to see the last brother fall in love that will be a scorcher for sure but this one will have the kindle heat up. I think what I loved the most was how Blake treated Alexis like a gift and let her know she was special to him. He didn’t push her but let her feel safe and loved with every action and his words.

This is a action packed tender and sexy romance that warms the heart. We see two people love and respect one another come together and be there for one another no matter what. A wonderful read.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Alexis Grant is trying to figure out what she wants to do in life, after several different job, she has found that she likes working at Ace Security. Maybe a little more since she gets to work with Blake Anderson. Blake is one of the triple brothers that owns Ace Securities. Alexis has falling more for him since she first met him but she thinks he doesn't even see her that way. So she will do her job and maybe if things don't work out, she will move on to something different.
Blake Anderson is focused 100% on the work he does at Ace Security. But as he gets to know Alexis, he sees that she is independent, head strong and doesn't need help from anyone. Or so she thinks.
So when Alexis comes up with the idea to go undercover to help bring down a local gang, will she get herself into trouble and will the Anderson boys be there to help her?
Will Blake show his true feelings for Alexis before it's too late? Can Alexis accept that Blake is telling her the truth about his feeling? Will the danger be more than they both can handle? Will the gang get away in the end?
I really enjoyed this story as I did the first book and can't wait for the next one but I think the title should have been Claiming Blake because Alexis claimed him before he knew what hit him. This story is filled with finding love and suspense, so if that is what you like I hope you enjoy this series as much as I am.

I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads

This was a fast paced romance story. I did not read the previous book in the series, but didn't feel that it was completely necessary. I never thought that I was missing anything.

Blake and Alexis have been paired off. She is a whiz when it comes to tracking people down via social media and despite her extensive, but short employment history, she's still searching to find her place in the world. She became known to Ace security because of her family's wealth and connections - they were part of a scandal/blackmail scene. However, she has proven herself invaluable.

Blake is all about his work. He tries to put his personal feelings in check, but the longer he stays paired with Alexis, the more intrigued he becomes. He hides his feelings well and keeps Alexis guessing, but when things come to a head, he lets his brother's know in no uncertain terms that they need to protect Alexis.

I liked how this was more than a romance. There was good development of the plot and the characters within were developed and well planned. Watching Blake and Alexis come to terms with their relationship and feelings was not too slow, but I do think they lacked a little chemistry. Overall, this was a great story and I do hope to read book 3.

To Blake Anderson nothing is more important then the work he does with his other 2 brothers at Ace Security, well its what he believes to be so, but before he knows what hit him enter Alexis Grant.
The security firm’s new intern , is making his temperature rise and she pushes all of his buttons,
Alexis is a very independent gal , she knows what she wants and what she feels for Blake.
Alexis knows that Blake is worried that she would not be able to commit, all he sees is a rich spoiled little rich girl.
But Alexis is determined to prove herself to Blake, and she jumps at the chance to work undercover to nab some very nasty gang members , and soon her case takes a turn that could endanger her life now she has to put her trust and heart into his hands and hope he will be able to get her.
Now, as Alexis digs into the deadly secrets of a local gang, Blake will lay everything on the line to protect the woman he’s come to love.
Great story even better then the first one in this series, I can't wait to read the next one as I am sure it will be as good as this one.

I enjoyed this edition of the Ace Security series. Blake was super sexy (of course), but had a nice understanding nature that meshed with all she had going on. Alexis was relatable in a lot of ways, but a bit unreal in others. Perhaps a bit too much of a need for Blake to have to build up her self-esteem at times. Not that this detracted from the story, because I enjoyed how their relationship played out. The bad guys were a little one-dimensional, but made for a tense, fast read. It was my first Ace Security book, and I look forward to the next one – I was intrigued by the lead-in.

This story was another interesting installment of the Ace Security series.

I loved Blake and his need to take care of his woman and the way he went to such great lengths to do so. Alexis on the other hand took me a bit to really like, or I suppose there were parts of her personality that I didn't like. She was very naive at times. Could've been that she had been so badly hurt when she was younger, or that she simply didn't want to see how mean and cruel people can be as both children and adults.

That being said, I loved the way the story as a whole flowed. While I can't say there were any crazy twists or surprises, I did enjoy following along with the action and watching Alexis deal with her terror yet not giving into it because she wanted to help.

I can't wait to get Nathan's story. He's the quiet more reserved of the three brother's so it'll be interesting to see how that works out.

This one wasn't one of my favorites from this author. Part of that is due to not buying into the couple, Blake and Alexis. For me they didn't really have chemistry, didn't make sense. Another part was Alexis going under cover with the gang. It seems odd that they guys would let a socialite do that. Alexis did a great job during the meetings, but I don't think that they really thought about things. The gang could have hurt Alexis quite a bit before the guys could get there to help her. It stunned me that no one didn't think the gang would come back to Alexis after they thought things were done. So when that happened it didn't stun me at all. Alexis help up great during that drama, I sure wouldn't have. I liked how she thought and contacted Blake and made sure that he knew where she was to the best of her ability. Loved how the guys were able to save Alexis.

With the little we saw with Bailey, the next book should be interesting to read.

Blake is the second of the Anderson brothers. Alexis joined with Ace Security when they met in the prior book due to a blackmail scheme that involved her brother. Blake sees her as a temporary employee, but as they get to know each other more, he becomes more interested. In contrast, Alexis has been interested in Blake since they met. There was a very annoying part of this book where Alexis explained to Blake her work history, where he’d perceived her as flighty. Part of her explanation involved several bosses who sexually harassed her. Shortly after this, he pondered his own interest in her and made some flirty moves but without any personal insight that perhaps he was being inappropriate and was best lumped with the creepy prior bosses. Add that sexual harassment specter to the ridiculous and foolhardy plot line of Alexis, who is nearly completely untrained, going under cover with a gang to help shut them down, and this book was not up to my normal expectations of Stoker’s novels. It is hard to enjoy that level of stupidity. Yet, it still had the elements of love, friendship, and support that are heartwarmingly familiar for Stoker readers. I read the ebook via Kindle. 3/5
