I always enjoy this author’s books. Sweet and/or sexy they are always engaging and they always entertain me for a good couple of hours. 'Finding Kyle' was well written and well developed with two main characters I liked from the very beginning, an interesting story line and a lovely romance. In other words – a fantastic read! If you like you heroes to be tortured, yet very sexy and sweet and your heroines delightful in every possible way, then for sure you will want to meet Kyle and Jane.
Kyle Sommerville had lived his last couple of years like a criminal, doing unspeakable things and losing himself in the process. An ATF agent, Kyle is in hiding, waiting to testify against the dangerous MC he was undercover with for several years. Kyle obviously doesn’t want to be found, wanting to keep for himself, not wanting to make friends or get attached to anything or anyone. Forced by circumstances to see and do despicable things, Kyle is tortured, having nightmares, not being able to forgive himself for what he did for so many years.
“Jane is a force of nature that has the strength of a hurricane, and f*ck if she didn’t roll right over me.”
Jane is an art teacher. She teaches middle, junior and high school, occasionally tutoring as well. She’s Kyle’s new neighbor, who from the moments she lies her eyes on him, she wants to know everything about him. Needless to say, Jane does everything in her power to get to know him, to make him talk, being friendly and cute as a button.
If at first, Kyle tries to resist Jane’s charms, as times passes, Jane slowly manages to get under his skin. Despite the fact that Kyle knows he should stay away from his tempting neighbor, he simply can’t. Jane makes him smile and most of all hope, getting him out of his shell and bringing him pleasure in so many ways.
I really enjoyed this one! The engaging story line, the intriguing, rough around the edges hero, the quirky, friendly heroine, everything was done really well. Withdrawn and anti-social, out hero was very easy to like. Sacrificing his life to bring down the notorious MC, Kyle is a broken man I sympathize with from the start. A good man, he believes he’s not worthy of a good life.
Jane was a fun heroine I adored from the very beginning. Her portrayal was fantastically done. I loved her colorful personality, her perseverance and her thoughtfulness. She’s quirky, funny and kind of a dork with her movie references and overall, a very endearing and refreshing heroine. Her wittiness made me smile many times and I loved her for the fact that accepted out hero with his past and everything, making him smile and giving him hope as the story unfolded. With Kyle she was sweet, understanding and quite patient not pushing him…too much to open up about his past.
“I couldn’t imagine doing something like this… all normal and romantic. It’s a completely foreign concept, and yet I’m drawn even harder to these things with Jane. My curiosity about this laid-back, normal way of life is piquing, and perhaps I’m even remembering a bit how to live this way.”
The way Jane got under our hero’s skin was enjoyable and entertaining and the way she torn down his walls was fantastic. I loved these two as a couple. What starts as something meaningless slowly becomes so much more, not only for Jane, but for Kyle too. Low in angst and drama, Kyle’s road to redemption and happiness was intriguing and well done, filled with many sweet and sexy moments that had me glued to the pages.
Personally, I wouldn’t have minded the story to have more suspense and/or action, but overall I liked it and found it to be enjoyable and well developed.
Overall, a fantastic read!

4.5 Equally Important Stars

It is fascinating to me how Sawyer Bennett continues to present stories that accomplish so much for her reading public. It is not an easy task to create books and series which on the surface engage a reader with stories easily read and loved. It is one thing to have characters who are smitten, learn about each other, have a base of interest which causes all the other characters to engage and throw in the necessary emotional touchstones so the reader feels something. It also is important to have them be distinct personalities, have a few flaws and maybe some fantastic sexual talents...
Sawyer Bennett has all of that down... and when you pick up one of her books you know for sure you will get it all ...But what I find the most impressive about Bennett is her ability to do "all of the above" and also layer so much more with her deft hand. At first glance or read, all of the stories contain enough to capture your interest... but then there will be that defining moment when a statement will be said... or an observation give by one of the characters and all of the underlying concepts are slowly revealed...At least that is how I see her books... and in Finding Kyle, it was a perfect example.
First, the fact Kyle was a character which had been in other Bennett books was cool... I had met him very briefly in Wicked Bond (The Wicked Horse, #5). He also was in
Shaken, Not Stirred (Last Call, #5). This means fans of Bennett books had a taste of this man...were a bit curious and when finding out a book with him as the main character... Hearts fluttered.
This book was unique in the way it played out. You had Kyle, done with his past life awaiting the chance to start again... In a holding pattern. His past was beyond ugly. His past made him lose who he original was... a brother who could be a support to his sister. He lost the humanity of loving, sharing, and any type of normalcy... all a sacrifice for the greater good...
Others would commend him, many would want to be like him...yet he had to find a way to live with what took place.
As Kyle is playing this waiting game, his life crosses paths with the most unlikely of people. One who shows no fear when pursuing what she is interested in...This woman has been raised in a secure home, been encouraged, and nourished to be the artist she is. She has found a life in the town she grew up in and is happy. She knows who she is, has a bestie who is the exact opposite of her and loves with all her heart ..and is a force of beauty, goodness, and fun.
She also has a terrific quirk of matching situations with movie quotes...
Jane Cresson is a wonder... an art teacher for the entire school district of Misty Harbor, this small town in Maine. During her free time, she paints and promotes her work to the tourists. She rents a cottage where one of her views is the Lighthouse...and it is when Kyle becomes the caretaker, we see exactly all the wonder that is Jane.
For Jane is an unusual woman... in that she doesn't play a damsel in distress, flirt shamelessly and bats her eyelashes to get Kyle's attention. Instead, she first leaves him her baked muffins on his porch...as a welcome. It was done because this man who was her neighbor... needed a welcome... and his power-washing the outside without his shirt... was something to dream about...
Now Jane knows her baking skills leave something to be desired...the muffins were more like hockey pucks...But she did package them nicely in a basket... and the wish to have her basket back... allows her to approach this devastatingly handsome, tattooed man while he is unloading flats of flowers he has to plant for the lighthouse.
Jane as brazen as can be marches up; says hey and then starts to unload one of the flats off his truck. She introduces herself as his neighbor and gets nothing more than a grunt. She then mentions the homemade goodies and states she was waiting for the basket to be returned...With that said, she tops it off with her informing Kyle he is to take her out to dinner or coffee...and a thank you for the above-mentioned goods.
What...What is this beautiful woman doing... Kyle had seen her in all her glory...but also knew he needed to be alone... with no outside contact. He holds in how cute she is with her way of asking him out and he tells her that is not going to happen. Jane then shocks him some more by saying he is to come to her house for dinner that night at 7. She sees him still looking at her... and she throws out one of her movie quotes...
Damn she is cute...But nope, not gonna happen.
What does happen is Jane bring by and leaving another basket with a pot roast dinner. This was amazing and nothing like the horrendous muffins.
What happens next is a situation where Jane needs Kyle's help after her doing everything she can on her own. Kyle helps and a sort of friendship, mainly pushed by Jane, happens...Kyle, as closed down as he is, somehow has let Jane get under his skin...And Jane, not one to let any obstacle get in her way...has taken upon herself to spend time with Kyle in such a way... they both start to have a bond of sorts...
And it is the internal observations by Kyle and Jane which elevate most of this tale...because both are admirable people. Kyle devoted many years of his life for the greater good...he had to betray everything he had experienced... family love, easy life and having relationships to accomplish the goal... It was a worthy goal... but in order to accomplish it... he had to become something which he is having a hard time rectifying. His holding pattern makes him highly aware of any time with Jane is limited...and colors how he wants to behave... and it is a battle.... for his desire and her desire are one in the same.
Jane is seen through Kyle's eyes as this person who is absolutely amazing. He sees all that she is... the pure joy she has in living every day doing what she loves...She has her family, her best friend and talent to make the art she does so well...She is self-assured; clear in her sense of self... and that is very powerful. He can see where possibly others would underestimate her life...But Kyle sees it as the wonder it is...He values it and values her.
This romance is everything an excellent story should be...but there is more... there is the feeling of what our many enforcement professionals must do in order to stop many criminal activities out there. These are not the day to day police...these are people who have taken the mantel of diving deep and staying there to flush out the filth. This story highlights all of the depth of character, the horrors, and the transitions these people must experience.
This was also coupled with a woman who showed amazing insight, self, and understanding. She wanted to connect with this man...she made it happen and because of it... both grew as people. She gave him solace and a path to normalcy. He gave her an awakening to who she was, and how she could experience everything...
It would not be a Sawyer Bennett book without intense, unique sexy times...and there were...Kyle was something....and Jane an equal once the two of them unleashed their hesitation....Yum, Yum.
So I am glad Sawyer Bennett took the time to give us Kyle and Jane together...Both were equals...in many ways...Even when things became painful... both were able to see the big picture in the end...and oh, it was a beautiful one.

In Finding Kyle we catch up with Kyle, an ATF agent, while he's in hiding, waiting to testify against the biker gang he was undercover with for years. His handler sends him to Maine where he now has way too much time on his hands and can't escape the thoughts of what he did as part of the gang. Kyle now thinks of himself as tainted by what he was forced to do in order to keep his cover, but his new neighbor may be the one person that can show him different.
Jane is a quirky and outgoing artist that doesn't like to let life get her down. She's the complete opposite of Kyle but that's what intrigues her about him. Even though Kyle is throwing up stay-away signals left and right, she's determined to get her new neighbor to open up. Then maybe she'll finally get him to ask her on date.
I was very intrigued by Kyle when I first met him in Wicked Bond and I just knew his book would be good. I felt so many emotions for this broken man and he sucked me right into his story.I loved that his emotions were so raw and open to where I felt them along with him. My heart was breaking every time he was beating himself up for things in his past. And I loved Jane for being able to give him some much needed goodness in his life.
It's been awhile since I've read about a genuinely happy heroine so Jane was a breath of fresh air. She had this peculiar habit of throwing out random movie quotes in the middle of a conversation, and while it was something that could become very annoying, it wasn't. I thought it was actually kind of cute and suited her character perfectly.
Kyle and Jane together were the perfect couple. They say opposite attract for a reason and it's because they suit each other so well and these characters were the epitome of that. If you're looking for an adorable, yet sexy, read than this is the one for you. Jane will have you grinning from ear to ear and Kyle will have you flinging your panties across the room.

Sawyer Bennett has a lot of skill when it comes to writing her heroes with a little bit of darkness in them. Kyle was no exception to this, add in that he is a bit of a grump too, and I fell for him pretty much from the first chapter.
The ease of the writing and the way the story flows in this book made it one that I didn’t put down until I had finished it.
She has the ability to make me feel okay in this strange world.
Kitty-corner to Kyles dirty-mind, grumpiness and general anti-social personality, was Jane’s positive, friendly, happy-go-lucky character, and it was just a really enjoyable read, watching these two opposite characters gradually coming together as a whole, whilst discovering more about themselves and each other as the story progressed.
Kyle Harding presents more than just excitement and intrigue into my ordered world. He is an absolute puzzle, and I’m enjoying the process of figuring him out.
Another thing the author excels at is writing diverse and plentiful sexy times, and this couple was no exception, once Kyle decides it’s on with Jane, the girl doesn’t stand a chance, and I loved the vulnerability that Kyle displayed in this area in that although he knows his way around a woman and in more ways than your average guy, he is not used to navigating a woman as sweet and amenable as Jane, although it was down and dirty at times, he was also sweet and sincere in the same breath.

It doesn’t take long for the secrets of Kyle’s past to come to the fore, and I think the fact that the author didn’t wrap the final stages up of the book in a big bow of immediate "I forgive you’s", and gave both characters a chance to work through everything, made the outstanding epilogue even better, because their happily ever after takes a little while to come, but it’s so much better because of it.
Great start to my 2017 Sawyer Bennett reads, I have high expectations for the rest of the year and her releases from it, if the standard is as high as Finding Kyle is, it’s going to be a great twelve months.

I love it when an author takes her readers on a storytelling journey that leaves them with the strong urge to want to throw themselves into that very same storyline and just be a part of everything. From the setting, to these unforgettable characters, you find yourself wishing that you could be one of the best friends to anyone of these characters. That’s what Sawyer Bennett brought to the table with this story and through her words, we saw two of the most unlikely people, form an everlasting bond while healing each other.
Kyle Somerville has been deep undercover for the past several years. His soul has been tainted, and he’s seen and done things no amount of alcohol can take away. When his work finally pays off bringing down one of the biggest MC, he has no choice but to go into hiding on his own after refusing the witness protection program. Now living in Misty Harbor Maine, Kyle is determined to lay low and keep to himself. That would be an amazing plan, if it wasn’t for the cheery neighbor who refuses to leave him alone and is determined to get to know the new guy in town.

But Kyle wants no part of her friendship and telling that to Jane is like telling a two year old, they can’t have candy. It’s not going to work. With Jane’s refusal to give up on their future friendship, Kyle is starting to realizing that this woman is going to cause an huge impact in his quiet little world.
I loved seeing the buildup between Jane and Kyle’s friendship and their unspoken sexual intensity. Kyle’s refusal to take their friendship had me wanting to smack him for a good minute but lucky for him, he redeemed himself and my palms were safe. I liked that Jane was this quirky character who made Kyle see things differently without it ever being forced and she was never annoying in her antics to become his friend. These two absolutely perfect our each other and I’m glad I got to experience their story.
If you love a hot friends to lovers story, then you should definitely read this one.

Admittedly, i've been waiting for Kyle Sommerville's story since he saved Maggie and handed her over to Bridger. I was intrigued by this undercover cop thrust into the life of bikies and forced to live their lives. As much as i expected his every response and reaction to Jane, this book was a tad too slow. Absolutely no excitement and the normally sizzling sex scenes were super flat. It had it sweet moments, but there really wasn't much to look forward to. Didn't help that i was a complete non-fan of the heroine; she seemed pretty blah and i found it quite annoying that she kept chasing after Kyle the way she did. Have some pride, woman!
Overall, a miss for me.

Finding Kyle was such a good read, I didn't want it to end.
The storyline was sweet, hot and very entertaining.
I found Kyle and Jane amusing, endearing and watching them fall in love kept me turning the pages late into the night.
At first I wasn't too sure what to think of Kyle, I found him rude and not very likable. But as I kept reading I found myself starting to like him. The more I saw him with Jane the more he won me over, before I knew it I was in love with this grumpy man lol
Under that hard front there was a man who was suffering deeply from the choices he had to make while undercover.
From the moment Jane was introduced in the book I knew this was going to be one very special lady.
Jane was kind, sweet, witty, sensitive and stubborn. She was drawn to Kyle from the first time she sees him. He intrigued her and she just couldn't stay away.
These two were perfect for each other, they had a strong attraction/connection and their chemistry was off the charts!!!
Overall, Finding Kyle was a great read, the storyline and characters will capture your mind and heart, take you on an emotional roller coaster and leave you with a huge smile on your face.
Another awesome read by the talented Sawyer Bennett and I highly recommend it.

The most emotional book by this author I read.

3,5 stars. Damaged hero and sweet, quirky heroine meet themselves when he doesn't think he deserves the good in his life, and she is determined to help him.
About the plot: Kyle is a cop who worked as a undercover agent in a dangerous biker gang for several years. Now when they were captured by the police, he is forced to hide as a important witness. Moved to a small town where he will be working as the lighthouse caretaker, seems an appropriate place to stay low. If not for gorgeous neighbor who doesn't give up to know him better.
Jane is a art teacher and good girl who loves her small town life. When a mysterious and handsome neighbor moved into the next house, she is fascinated by him and wanted to introduce herself. Sadly, he is not interested in new friendships. His attempts to keep her at bay, however aren't woring. She sees the damaged man, and is determined to add some color into his life.
Final thoughts: It's a beautiful story in which something was missing for me.
I love those moments when he is trying to hide that he likes her. I also love the way she pushes into his life. Her pursuit, stubbornness and joyful personality. It was fun and engaging.
Also as always with the Sawyer Bennett, you can count on a well-written and sexy scenes. There are good and hot as hell. Especially with Kyle's dirty talk and imagination for painting tools.
I also like in her books that you often can count on some combination with the characters from previous stories. Personally, I like stuff like that. This book is a standalone, but for someone who knows a characters from the earlier books, it is always special cool. And there are the connection!
For what I have reservations, it's the plot could be faster and more complex. I think storyline and heroes background had more potential than has been used. It was supposed to be suspense, and not entirely is.
Otherwise, with Sawyer Bennett you can always count on a good story and a nice evening spent with a book. After all, in this case, there was not different.

Finding Kyle by Sawyer Bennett

Finding Kyle is the story of Kyle and Jane. Kyle has appeared in Wicked Bond and Shaken, Not Stirred so the readers of those books will have a little knowledge of the man behind the name, but this can be read as a total standalone.
Kyle was a man in hiding for his own protection. Now living in some small town in Maine, beachside, as a lighthouse manager, his only goal is to keep himself to himself until the dust settles and it is safe for him to come out of hiding. Being inconspicuous when you are covered in tattoos and have “bad boy” written all over you is hard, but Kyle keeps his head down. “I want to be alone ~ Grand Hotel ~ 1932.”
Jane is a school teacher and an artist, and she lives across the road from Kyle. Jane is fascinated by her new neighbour and in an attempt to get to know him she delivers a basket of muffins to welcome him to the neighbourhood. Well, I use the term “muffins” loosely, missiles would be a better description, but the thought was there, “Well nobody’s perfect ~ Some Like It Hot ~ 1959” . But what Jane lacks in baking skills she more than makes up for in personality. Jane is a person hard not to fall in love with. Jane is adorable, she is the typical good, honest, reliable woman. Normally shy, yet Kyle seems to give her the brave juice to do what she wouldn’t normally. Never one to pursue a man she cannot seem to hold herself back from Kyle despite getting the cold shoulder every, single, time. Jane’s penchant for answering questions with movie line quotes was hilarious at times and only added another facet to this adorable woman, even Kyle finds it hard to stay away, “Of all the gin joints in all the world, she walks into mine. ~ Casablanca ~ 1942.”
Kyle in the first instance was very mysterious, but as his past is slowly eked out, you finally understand the man, nothing is at it seems. From the very start you know that Kyle is a good guy, despite his outward appearance but most importantly Kyle needs to realise that too. Kyle has trouble dealing with his past, he aches with his past actions and nightmares are a constant, “I don’t want to survive. I want to live. ~ 12 Years a Slave ~ 2013” . He is stuck in limbo, he has lost his identity, has lost his normalcy and just doesn’t know which way is up. You cannot help but hurt for this man.
Sawyer Bennett delivers an unputdownable read as Jane does her best to break the walls of Kyle. I will give Jane credit, she does not give up and I admired her tenacity in going for what she wanted, “Mrs Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you? ~ The Graduate 1967.” The mysterious bad boy always seems to attracts women like moths to a flame, but you always knew that Jane was different. Kyle wasn’t her type, yet for Jane, he called to her, “You had me at hello. ~ Jerry Maguire ~ 1996.”
Jane and Kyle together brought each other to life, Jane giving Kyle solace and a sense of normalcy, “You make me want to be a better man. ~ As Good as It Gets ~ 1997,” and Kyle showing Jane the woman she could be, not plain Jane by any stretch of the imagination. Sawyer Bennett does make you wait as Jane takes time in breaking through to Kyle but once these two get together all bets are off, “I’m also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. ~ Notting Hill ~ 1999.” As with any Sawyer Bennett read she totally burns up the pages with an intense connection between these two and you will find yourself rooting for them from the very start.
Finding Kyle is a book of letting go of the past and looking forward to the future. A lesson in finding yourself, your true self and not the version that circumstances have made you. Believing in yourself, liking yourself, loving yourself as well as others and believing that you are deserving of that love. Love comes when you least expect it, it is up to you to grab it with both hands and embrace it. This was definitely a case of “You can’t handle the truth. ~ A Few Good Men ~ 1992,” but giving people the chance to draw their own conclusions. Totally loved this book, as ever, Sawyer Bennett delivered and Kyle and Jane are a couple that will stick with you. “To infinity and beyond! ~ Toy Story ~ 1995”

Finding Kyle is the story of an undercover agent who works for ATF and sacrificed the last 5 years of his life acting as a member of Mayhem’s Mission, which is a gang of bikers dealing with drugs and sex slavery. For the greater good, he has done vile things. In order for them to believe that he was one of them, he had to do illegal and cruel things such as giving heroine and drugs to pregnant women or beating people to death along with many acts such as gang bang with the other members while losing himself in drinks and drugs as well.
Now that he has completed infiltrating and taking their trust, he has helped a very powerful crime organization to come down. But now, as the most important witness to their crimes, he needs to hide and he is hiding and living a recluse life in Misty Harbor until the court hearing.
Kyle hates himself and he regrets all the bad things he had to do for the greater good. He feels he is tainted now, not deserving anything good.
His neighbor Jane doesn’t think so. With her sweet and positive personality, she brings down his walls one by one like a strong hurricane destroys a town.
He resists the temptation for a while but then he caves in. However, he cannot promise her the forever, he can promise her his few months in this town. Knowing he will leave soon, she accepts what he can give her and their affair starts.
Kyle finds love and peace in her and those few months with her is like a gift for him. He feels unburdened and happy for the first time in a long while...until the threat comes and finds him... Then, things go haywire!
Will Kyle and Jane be able to find their way back to each other when every ugly fact is revealed?
This is a book with 209 pages, written in dual point of view. Its pacing is not fast and thrilling but it is not dragging, either - but still a bit on the slow side.
I liked both characters but I definitely disliked the heroine’s weird habit of constantly quoting movie lines along with the years of release, which might have been put there for sweetness and fun but it got on my nerves; it was totally annoying and creepy. She did it even during sex!
Her glazed eyes slid to look at me in the mirror, and we held each other’s gaze for just a brief moment. Then her lips curled upward and a mischievous glint sparkled back at me. She then turned to look back at herself, and, in an imperious voice—while I was still fucking her hard—she said, “Magic mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?” I came to a dead stop rooted deep within her, and her eyes slowly raised to focus back on me. She grinned at me and panted, “ Snow White and the Seven Dwarves , 1937. Now get back to business, baby.”
All in all, it was an OK read for me but not something great. It is maybe 3,25 or something like that...
P.S. Also, note that she is the pushy one and if you don't like the woman chasing the man, maybe this is not your type of romance. It bothered me a little bit. But then I saw it was what Kyle needed.

I can't remember a time where I give Sawyer Bennett's book less than 3 stars. I think this is the first. There are books that I like less than others but I always found what I was looking for in her books. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Finding Kyle.
Maybe I had high expectations, maybe it was my mood. I don't relly know but it happens.
I wanted this book to be more invested in Kyle's past. I can't believe that after you spend 5 years undercover, you don't have some kind of PTSD that just change your life completely. Yes Kyle had some but it's barely approached. The story focused nearly 100% of Jane & his story.
While we know from the beginning it's doomed because he's still hiding waiting for a trial as he's a key witness, Kyle can't stay away from Jane, his curious & sweet neighbor.
Their moment was sweet and beautiful and their lovemaking off the charts but that was the problem with me. Maybe I've read too many MC books to know you can't escape this world without being damaged, especially with what Kyle had to do.
At some point, reality comes crashing their safe haven but to me it was too late.

Sawyer Bennett brought. The heat. Back. On. This book is just downright sweet and sexy to the core. It has that touch of forbidden, knowing our hero, Kyle Sommerville, was living on borrowed time hiding out in Misty Harbor. See, Kyle worked as an undercover agent for years, helping to take down a ruthless and dangerous biker gang involved in drugs, illegal firearms and sex slavery. Now that he's got the ball rolling and the investigation is in full swing, as a witness to everything he was immersed into when he patched in, certain people are also on the lookout to take him down. This is what led him to lie low in a very small town in Maine. He's gone off the radar with a new name, a new job and he's planned to just keep to himself until he's needed for the trial. Seems easy enough for him, especially with how the years has numbed him up and killed off his humanity. That is, until a gorgeous hurricane by the name of Jane Cresson barrels her way into his life.
Jane is just a regular small town girl who loves and teaches art. I've never seen someone so content and happy with her life. She was all sunshine and butterflies and an optimist down to the bone. I fell in love with her kindness and quirkiness and the way she just sees the best in everybody. Everything about this girl was so infectious. It was no surprise that she'd be the one to crack and break down the walls of our closed off hero. Even her spontaneous movie lines were so amusing! The way she just barged in and pushed herself into Kyle's life would probably be annoying to other people, but her determination to know him melted my heart instead. She was the perfect balm to Kyle's broken soul.
I loved this book so much—Kyle Sommerville even more. He's certainly a hero that would hook you in and make you head over heels in love with him from the get go. His heart, his sweet and filthy words, his morals—regardless of what he did or went through during his biker gang years—still astound me and make my heart skip a beat. I think I prolonged reading this as much as I could because I just can't, for the life of me, let go of Kyle and Jane's wonderful story of finding real and passionate love in the worst of times. The relationship they were able to build in just a short period of time got to me more than I ever expected it to.
I've always admired Bennett's pure talent in writing a wide variety of romance novels and still managing to create something new and different every single time. They all have that seductive twist unique to her writing hand, and she just captures my heart and melts soul, not to mention fire up my insides, every time. I’ve made no secret of that fact that Sawyer Bennett is one of my favourite authors, yet sometimes, there have been a few of her books that haven’t stirred me…at all.
This one was what I would call the “real” Sawyer.
We have met Kyle Sommerville before, a few times, but I have only met him in Wicked Bond, when he rescued the h of the story, Maggie. I adored that, and was delighted to get behind the story of the man that was living a stolen life.
Kyle finds himself in limbo, waiting for the fallout following an undercover mission that had consumed his life. He didn’t like to think about the decisions he had made during that time, but he was plagued by its darkness.
The light came in the form of Jane Cresson, who was quick to notice his presence, and quicker to garner his undivided attention. She was persistent and steadfast in her capacity to get noticed. Her arty ways were almost as endearing as her weakness for movie quotes, given an appropriate situation.
This was Sawyer at her finest, bearing two quite contradictory characters who provided a compelling version of a struggle to love. Their exposure was our delight, and Sawyer executed her finest hand to present a story that encompassed compassion, humour and that feel good factor.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, and re-iterates the esteem I hold for this lady.

Finding Kyle was a standalone by Sawyer Bennett. For Bennett's loyal readers, Finding Kyle was the conclusion for a man we had gotten curious glimpses of previously.
We had met Kyle Summerville briefly several times. First in Bennett's Last Call series, books four (With a Twist) and five (Shaken Not Stirred). And recently in Bennett's Wicked Horse series during Bridger's story, The Wicked Bond, when he saved Maggie while he was still undercover.
At the end of that series we learned that Kyle was an ATF agent deep in cover with the Mayhem's Mission MC and was executed as the ATF stormed the compound. Finding Kyle opened with Kyle actually alive but hiding in Maine until the trial. Apparently only three people knew that Kyle wasn't actually dead. Although it was written as a standalone, the full enjoyment came after knowing his backstory.
Jane Cresson was the beautiful neighbor that wouldn't let Kyle stay isolated. She kept drawing him out in innocent and friendly ways until she eventually burrowed under his skin.
Finding Kyle was told with a dual POV. I loved both characters. Jane was beautiful in sweet innocence while Kyle was gorgeous, sullen and brooding. Bennett allowed us to watch Kyle change before our eyes with his journey of healing. It was well written showing Bennett's quirky humor that I've come to love and expect.
Although it was a standalone, I'm hopeful Bennett will now bring us Miranda's story.

When I found out about this book I was overjoyed to discover that Kyle was ALIVE it never occurred to me that they faked his death (very clever Ms Bennett).

I really enjoyed Finding Kyle I finally got to spend some quality time with this mystery man as I have met me previously in two other books but only getting snippets but here Kyle is laid bare for me discovering more about his three years undercover work and I was not disappointed Kyle is a classic sexy alpha.
I loved the progression of Kyle and Jane's relationship nothing was rushed and I loved the fact Jane would not give up on getting to know her new HOT neighbour.
I loved Jane and her kooky movie lines that came out of nowhere.
Finding Kyle had everything I expect from Sawyer Bennett this was a winner for me. The last few chapters had me gripped and I loved the epilogue.

Ohmigosh! I think I might have suffered from a case of a woman crush. Jane is quite possibly my favorite heroine /book girlfriend
Kyle Sommerville, an undercover agent who is in a world of trouble. Kyle is refusing to enter the witness protection program of the feds, so he is hiding on his own in the sleepy town of Misty Harbor, Maine. Kyle tends to the Gray Birch Lighthouse, tries to blend in, lay low and count the days until he can get out of dodge. Kyle knows his stay is temporary so he has no intention of making new friends. Unluckily though, Jane his next door neighbor is having none of it. She is determined to get to know her sexy, mysterious broody neighbor. I absolutely adore Jane. She is beautiful, quirky, sweet, funny, thoughtful, and a little nutty. Kyle tries hard to resist Jane, even tries to scare her off with his surly and brass attitude, but in vain. Jane is persistent and she manages to wiggle her way into Kyle’s life and his heart in the way of baked goods and quoting movie lines.
All is well until Kyle’s terrible past is exposed. Jane realizes just how many secrets Kyle kept from her. Can she forgive Kyle for what he has done?
I really enjoyed the relationship between Jane and Kyle - fun, sweet, flirty nemesis friends to lovers. They are the perfect example of opposites attract and together they were explosive. I am very familiar with Sawyer Bennett’s erotic romance but this story here is a whole new level of sexiness – it’s the sweet swoony, melt your heart kind of romance. I also love that the story is solely focused on the main two characters with very little distraction from secondary characters. Although I am very intrigued by Jane’s best friend Miranda – she seems like a fun, hardworking, loyal friend. But what I love most is that this book is not only a love story but is also about a man’s journey to find peace and redemption. Kyle made a great sacrifice with his life for a greater good. At times his hands were dirty in blood. Kyle carries the guilt within him and thinks he deserves penance. Jane knows the real Kyle and she sees the best in him – she understands that Kyle needs to forgive himself in order to move on with his life and this makes her my favorite book heroine.

I really enjoyed this story!
I'm not a fan of MC books and extremely tattooed guys, but Kyle is out of that life and now he's this adorable lighthouse keeper who has to plant flowers and keep his lighthouse pretty, so that the tourists will come and bring their money to town! Too cute. The big, tattoed biker cop painting his picket fence and having to fight off the advances of his beautiful and way-too-cheery neighbor.
I loved it!
Jane is so adorable. She's such happy person. She's so very content with her life in that town. All her friends and family live there too.
And she just wants Kyle to have all that happiness too. But he's not making it easy.
But of course he can't resist her for long.
And we just hope that everything will work out perfectly with those 2, but of course we also know - or rather - are afraid - of those bad guys finding Kyle... we just know they will show up and ruin poor Kyle's new happiness! And we're also afraid that all his secrets will come out and Jane will run away as fast as she can! I just had to keep reading - I so wanted to see how their love story would end!

The quirky heroine, Jane really made the story came alive. I'm not sure whether is she your cup of tea because she seems very forward and can't take a hint no matter how hard the hero, Kyle tried to rebuff her advances... or rather her friendship. She loves to sprout out movie quotes all the time and I find myself trying to guess some of the movie titles.
Jane is a very refreshing and special kind of heroine. As someone who actually woo her own husband, I can totally appreciate her guts in going after what attracts her. With such a hot neighbor, I don't blame her. She is such a spirited and care free character and she loves her small town community very much.
Kyle is ready to embark on a new chapter of his life, once everything is settle and done with. He only meant to spend a few month in Maine and the last thing he needs is to start something with his lovely neighbor, Jane and taint her beautiful soul with his ugliness. But there is only so much a man can resist and with Jane keep popping up in his daily life, Kyle finally succumb to temptation.
When I read the blurb, I was expecting this to be a romantic suspense because apparently Kyle is a criminal in hiding. But the story didn't delve much on the suspense because from the start the reader was told who Kyle was and why was he hiding himself. There is so much more to him than the surface and he is a man who was tainted with a corrupted life that he didn't expect to find happiness for himself. The story is mainly about how Kyle's sweet and naive neighbor, Jane tried to coax him out of his shell with her tenacity in engaging him no matter how much he tried to avoid her.
The fascinating part of the story besides witnessing Jane's quirkiness is watching Kyle's blossom from an isolated man filled with dark thoughts and nightmares into someone who can enjoy the simplicity of a life in a small town with a woman who accept him for who he is.

3.5 "Movie Quote" Stars

Well, I don't know what to say! The story was good, well-written and well paced. But I have problems with hero's character.
Kyle is a cover agent. Now because of his job he is hiding out and waiting for the day that he might be able to resume his life again. Jane is Kyle's neighbor and she is curious about Kyle. So she does her best to know him more.
Jane is good. Actually she is perfect, somehow. She is determined. Someone who if-she-wants-something-she-will-get-it type. She seems the type to take things in stride with unfailing well of optimism to bolster herself. She has a hobby that I like; quoting movies. My major problem is Kyle. I can't feel the connection with him. He is serious like really serious! He is somehow stiff. I can't understand him. I disagree with what he did for the greater good. I really didn't like him. In the whole story he is somehow neutral or in my opinion sad! But the story is good and worth reading.

She seems the type to take things in stride with unfailing well of optimism to bolster herself. She has a hobby that I like; quoting movies. My major problem is Kyle. I can't feel the connection with him. He is serious like really serious! He is somehow stiff. I can't understand him. I disagree with what he did for the greater good. I really didn't like him. In the whole story he is somehow neutral or in my opinion sad! But the story is good and worth reading.

I love Jane! She is a force to be reckoned with! She is an art teacher that works with middle to high school kids plus does her art free-lance on the side. She also tutors art students at her home. She has a love of movies and quotes movie lines and gives their movie title and release year! She puts in these little quips in with the conversation and Kyle just shakes his head at her. She is a riot! Jane is the eternal optimist and she is as tenuous as she is curious. Kyle her reclusive neighbor is a man she wants to figure out and she won’t take no for an answer.
Kyle is very taciturn and keeps to himself. The last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone from this small Maine town. He doesn’t plan on staying here long. He doesn’t encourage her invitations, but that doesn’t stop Jane. She keeps at him. Until he can’t deny their chemistry any longer.
There is so much to this story and I don’t want to give anything away about either Kyle or Jane. They have amazing chemistry and they both can’t deny what’s brewing between them. There is so much in Kyle’s history that he keeps secret and Jane tries to gently pry it out of him. Until it all explodes. My heart just dropped. Kyle and Jane both have a lot to work through. Kyle has to find forgiveness in himself and hopes Jane can forgive him and forgive his past.
I really enjoyed every page and I highly recommend this book!

I think I have to maybe step away from Sawyer Bennett for a minute and maybe come back much later because in all honesty, I think I may have only enjoyed 2 of her releases from the past year ... I can't say that Finding Kyle was a bad read, but I can say she can and has done a hell of a lot better with character development and plot development. The actual conflict in this story should have been explosive yet it was written as if it was just another moment in time. There is nothing about our hero's past and circumstance that is just a 'moment in time'.... I'm not going to nitpick the entire story-line to illustrate my point so I'll just leave it at that...
On the plus side, the sexy was ridic sexy :) so there's that!

I learned something about myself from this book. I love all kinds of romance. I love the diversity of stories as well as the traditional tropes. But what really gets me, what warms my heart the most, is a hero who self-sacrifices for a greater cause. These books bring me comfort, but also satisfies my heart. Finding Kyle is just this kind of book.
It took me a few minutes into the prologue to realize that this is Kyle’s story. Kyle, is first introduced in With a Twist as Andrea Sommerville’s biker brother, reappears in Shaken, Not Stirred as Tenn Jenning’s friend, and most recently is in Wicked Bond as a Maggie Waylon’s savior and murdered ATF agent. But obviously, his death is staged and he is in protective custody waiting to testify against the leaders of the motorcycle gang involved in all kinds of nefarious and illegal activities. It gave me a special kind of thrill when I realized that Kyle was alive and getting his own story.
Kyle’s time with Mayhem’s Mission comes with a deep cost. Kyle joins the ATF after a friend goes missing and is suspected of being sold into white slavery. Mayhem’s Mission is known be a player in human trafficking. Kyle is committed to taking down this motorcycle gang. Getting into the gang is difficult enough, he has to prove that he is trustworthy. He cannot react to the illicit and illegal things he sees and has to engage in what would normally be questionable behavior. “I’ve become so roughened over the years -- so criminalized -- I feel like I barely resemble a normal human being.” It hurts me to think about the things he had to accept undercover. Being undercover damages his soul.
While waiting to testify against the gang and a corrupt state senator, Kyle relocates to Maine where he takes on the job of lighthouse keeper. Jane Cresson is his cute neighbor who does not take “no” for an answer. When I think of Jane, the word “guileless” comes to mind. She is straightforward. She has no pretense, but is also not in your face. There is something pure about Jane. Kyle describes her as having an “internal light”. For me, the best thing about Jane is that she is a movie-quoting goofball full of personality. Just my kind of gal. Apparently, Kyle feels the same way:
I love how Jane draws him out, helps him find his footing into the real world where people experience both pain and joy, and lightens his soul.
Sawyer Bennett is known for writing from dual perspectives. It allows her readers to really get into the mind and hearts of her characters. This device really works well here, perhaps even the best of any of her other works. The voices are distinct, the storyline compelling. I finished reading the epilogue with a big smile on my face. Utterly satisfying.

Every single second of this story was just so incredibly entertaining and I had so much fun reading it. I was smiling and laughing and loved getting to know both Kyle and Jane. Loved it!
I loved the prologue introducing everything and explaining just who Kyle. I had a oh my god THAT Kyle moment and was even more excited to read this. He was such a hard guy with a very difficult and brutal past and I loved watching him really grow and find redemption. That in itself made it an awesome story but it was so much more. Jane was the absolute bomb! I freaking loved this woman! So sweet, caring, persistent, and down right adorable. I loved her tenacity and how she never gave up. She and Kyle had so many great moments and I loved her pursuit of their friendship. There were so many fun scenes that had me liking them more and more.
I loved seeing Kyle's walls come down little by little as the story develops. I thought there was a great pace and loved all the details. The writing was so good. I loved everything about it from the interesting characters and their interactions, their amazing chemistry and connection, to all the awesome details. Kyle liking Jane but trying to fight it because of the circumstances he was dealing with. There was so much anticipation that came along with their building heat, I couldn’t wait for them to connect.
Honestly though, for as much as I loved Kyle and the growth he experienced, this is one of those times where I think the heroine might have out shined the hero. From Jane's quirky personality, her movie quotes, her sweet, caring and persistent nature, I just loved everything about her. She was the best and just so endearing. She had her own moments of growth as well, and I loved every single second.
If you want to read something entertaining (seriously, this was such a fun read!), sweet and sexy, with a nice amount of heat and some mild drama, this is it. Finding Kyle was jut a fantastic read that's all about love and redemption.

Sawyer Bennett is a genius, and I love her work, this book is no exception. I love that we first met Kyle in the Wicked Bond series very briefly, but enough that he needed his own book to fill in a few pieces and what a treat it is for us. He is a character that I was most looking forward to read.
Kyle has been deep undercover for five years, trying to bring down an entire motorcycle club and the affiliated people. This brings many conflicting emotions for Kyle, who deep down is a sensitive sole. He is now in hiding, opting to look after himself than trust the Witness Protection Program, and waiting for the court case to bring them all to justice. While hiding, Kyle is trying to reconcile the man he has become to who he was previous to the ATF job. Nothing in this time had him ready to meet up with Jane Cresson who is his neighbour. Jane has a way of getting under his skin and leaving him wanting more. She is a fun, quirky and geeky woman that I just adored. Being a movie buff myself, the quotes were interesting and made her so alluring, she is a refreshing female lead character.
Having the dual POV's is always a winner to being able to get both perspectives and seeing each others side. I loved that Kyle was a loner in the beginning of the book, but with the help of Jane and her pushy ways, he not only got his old life back, but found he could have a wonderful life being with her. Highly recommend you pick this one up and find Kyle too.

This was an emotional story of redemption. I cringed at times and laughed at others. There were definitely some grittier parts that were difficult to read, but overall it was an entertaining and compelling read. Finding Kyle is a stand alone, but the character of Kyle was introduced in 2 of the author's other series, Wicked Bond and Last Call.
Kyle is the epitome of the tortured hero, but as the story progresses, you see the sweeter and softer side that has been buried for so long. I loved his inner monologue and he had some truly hilarious reactions to Jane's actions and baking. He was such a multidimensional character and I really enjoyed Jane's attempts to peel back those layers and break down his walls.
Jane is quirky and almost too bubbly at times, but I loved her thoughtfulness, how important her family and friends were, and her glass half full personality. She was unapologetically dorky and it only made her more endearing. I was surprised by her tenacity to get to know Kyle, when he was so clearly giving her the cold shoulder/brush off. Her persistence paid off with some seriously sexy times though and I may never look at a paintbrush the same way again ;)

I had no idea how much I needed this book until I started reading it! It made me SO happy!
My first clue, should have been the name "Kyle" in the title. But it didn't take me long to clue in! By 2% my mind was blown and I was rushing to download a previous title by this author to confirm my suspicions. I'm not going to say too much about it, but Kyle appears in two previous titles from Sawyer Bennett. Because she's a clever, sneaky genius she shocked the hell out of me with his appearance. If you haven't read Wicked Bond (Book #5 in the Wicked Horse series) I HIGHLY advise you read that first. This book is a standalone, but you're going to have a much greater appreciation for this story if you read it first. He also appears in another title that I personally haven't read, but I'll be rectifying that soon enough.

Pair that with Jane who was adorably persistent and just wouldn't take no for an answer from this guy. She was also insanely funny.
