A lonely bookkeeper in search of Christmas + a mysterious dragon shifter with a past full of pain + a beautiful snow castle hiding a ruthless enemy = one glittering Christmas romance!
All her life, curvy Dara Jenkins has dreamed of a White Christmas. But when she drives into the mountains for the holidays, what she finds instead is a snow storm that threatens to claim her life. To Dara's amazement, she's rescued by an ice dragon - who turns into a sexy, charismatic man who hasn't left his snow castle in twenty years.
Henrik Drakeson is a dragon shifter who lost his parents long ago in a terrible accident. For most of his life, he has carried that burden with him, choosing loneliness over the happy visitors that once came to the family's snow castle every winter. He's promised himself he'd stay forever alone, so he'd never hurt anyone again - until his mate suddenly appears on his doorstep in a snow storm, bringing all the joy and cheerfulness of Christmas to his lonely home.
Can Dara heal the pain of his wounded heart? And can they uncover the truth about his past - and defend each other against the ruthless enemy behind the old tragedy?
This is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW dragon shifter holiday romance. No cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
~Sweet reclusive hero. Who's been living alone in his castle for 20 years. I got the feeling he has been celibate for those 20 years since he doesn't get visitors and he doesn't leave his castle. ~Ok heroine, she's been celibate for 2 years. ~No OW/OM. ~Some pushing done by the hero. ~Unrealistic insta-love.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!
This cover is very beautiful with all the decorations! I have bought this ebook!
This book is a standalone novella. It is about 114 pages long and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.
I really love Zoe’s HEA shifter books. They always tell a wonderful story and make me warm inside. This story was no different. I couldn’t put it down.
This is a dragon shifter story. Henrik is awesome but haunted. Dara is looking for a little Christmas magic. This story has a bit of everything that will thoroughly entertain you. I really like both of the leads. Their story was magical, but of course I will not spoil your own adventure.
Can’t wait to read more of Zoe’s book!
I highly recommend this book to dragon shifter fans who love a great HEA!
Dara’s Christmas vacation is going to take a turn for… something totally unexpected. While searching for the perfect place to stay for her Christmas alone, Dara is taking a chance on an obviously old signboard along the side of the road pointing the way to not only a Christmas Village but a Snow n Ice Castle as well. For a woman in search of a perfect for her Christmas, that was simply too hard to resist. As she drove up the mountain light snow began to fall. By the time she had made it to the establishment’s icy gates it was definitely a Christmas snow. Curious, and still believing she had time to get back down to the village for the night, Dara began climbing the path up to the Ice Castle she could see on the mountain… and the snow continued to fall hard and faster now,
Henrik felt the change in his lands, any dragon is closely attuned to the land they protect, and his mountain was crying out to him. She was here, on his mountain… his mate… and she was in danger.
Twenty years ago, Henrik’s parents were killed in a car crash. He has always blamed himself for their deaths, even though he had absolutely nothing to do with the crash. Still as a young dragon he had gone out to play in the up winds of the mountain and gotten stuck, having to call to his parents for rescue. They had left a party to drive to him and he never questioned why they hadn’t flown… he knew only that his parents were dead, and it as his fault. He’d been living here, in isolation for all those years. His only companion silence and the periodic visits from his uncle, Alistair. Now to discover that his mate had actually found him was a bittersweet emotion – for he feared that he would inadvertently harm her as well.
There is danger lurking for both Dara and Henrik – and the pain of that betrayal will be almost unbearable.
The Christmas Dragon’s Mate is a charming story of an ice dragon who has given up his life only to find it once again in the arms of his true love. Our couple will find love, steaming sexy moments, traditions and evil lurking where no one would suspect… and a love to protect them each for a lifetime.
I enjoyed this Christmas tale very much. Dara and Henrik were a fun couple, definitely sexy, and most definitely meant for each other. If you’re in the mood for a really good Christmas dragon love story this season, then you’d enjoy Dara and Henrik’s romance.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.
This was a very enjoyable Christmas romance. It's short but is long enough to be a nice story that didn't feel rushed.
Dara is a bookkeeper that is alone for the holidays. She has always longed for a "White Christmas" so she decides to go to the mountains for Christmas and gets an unexpected surprise.
Henrik is an ice dragon that has been alone for the last 20 years. Henrik's parents died and Henrik has felt guilty over their deaths, causing him to hide away and never see anyone except his uncle.
Dara is driving up into the mountains, trying to find the perfect place to spend the holidays. She didn't make reservations, she just decided to drive into the mountains until she finds snow and a nice town to spend Christmas in. Dara sees a sign for an Ice Castle in place called Christmas Valley and she decides it'll be the perfect place to spend the holiday. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), she gets into a bit of trouble on the away and ends up being rescued by Henrik.
Dara knows about shifters so she knows what Henrik is...which makes things a lot easier on him. They bond quickly but there is some drama from an outside source that tries to come between them, bringing some danger along as well. Henrik and Dara do get past the drama and danger and end the story together and well on their way to a HEA.
This was a very enjoyable holiday romance. Dara and Henrik were both good characters that I liked separately and even more as a couple. This story was enjoyable and an engaging Christmas romance so I would recommend it. :)
You can celebrate Christmas this year with a healthy dose of ice and snow, when you add this book to your library. The author started this series off with a bang. I enjoyed the wounded characters and the fact that love can heal them. The danger comes at them from an unexpected source, but the author made sure that together they were strong. I love how this book celebrated the holiday and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the sleepy little Christmas town.
This novella is a romantic Christmas fantasy that is somewhat predictable, but a sweet little story nonetheless.
Bookkeeper Dara goes looking for a little Christmas magic when she finds herself alone for the holidays. With her mother remarried and abroad, and her best friend also married and living far away, Dara decides to drive until she finds a snowy place to stay for Christmas. She stumbles across an old tourist attraction, gets lost in a snowstorm, and is rescued by a dragon.
Henrik is a dragon shifter that has closed himself off from almost all contact with people for 20 years. When he finds Dara lost in the snow, everything changes.
This is a quick read that reminds me of a fairy tale with a happily-ever-after ending. I enjoyed reading it, but wasn't particularly attached to the characters.
The first book in the Christmas Valley Shifters series a well written story. I am one of those people give me a Christmas story at any time and I will read, I saw this by an Author I like and thought why not. Henrik Drakeson blames himself for something that happened twenty years ago when his parents died. He has blocked himself off from everything. Dara Jenkins wants to have a white Christmas somewhere special but she gets lost and almost dies in Christmas Valley when Henrik hears her cries for help he goes to help her. How has she managed to get onto his land? There is suspense, drama, danger, a villain, and romance. A book I would recommend. I will be reading the other books in this series.
Dara is sweet and smart. She wants a happier Christmas so goes on an adventure to find it. She decides to go to Christmas Village and on the way sees signs of a castle. She pushes through a snow storm and almost death only to be saved by a dragon. Henrick is a very sad dragon who believes he killed his parents 20 years ago. Dara wakes him up from his depression just in time for Christmas. I enjoyed their crazy fast romance and how they push through obstacles.
This is a cute story about a lonely dragon and his mate who went looking for Christmas and found a snow storm. It was great watching them learn about each other as well as themselves. The action comes later in the story, but there is some foreshadowing. I won't give the story, as this shorter story relies on the surprises.
Get this book if you like more character development with some action, some steamy scenes, and of course...dragons and Christmas!
This is the first book in the Christmas Valley Shifter series. I enjoyed this story and couldn't put it down. This story had mystery, a rescue, and a lady that wouldn't give up. Zoe Chant has done it again with this worth the time to read story. Dara Jenkins loves Christmas and plans to celebrate it in the mountains. A snow storm takes her to the recluse Henrik Drakeson's castle. Henrik has lived the life of solitude for many years after the death of his parents. Will Henrik learn the truth about their death? Will Dara melt his frozen heart?
Kindle Unlimited purchase By Zoe Chant What a start. She's all alone. Her friends and family have their own lives now. Here she is stuck in this rut. So she besides its time to make a change so she heads up the mountains to find her Christmas cheer. 20 years Henrik has been alone on this mountain with his guilt now during a snowstorm he finds a half-frozen woman that turns him and his dragon's world upside down. Talk about a twist! Nice start to what looks like a nice series. Instant love romance but believable.
This book surprised me. I don't know what I expected. I loved the main characters Dara and Henrix were such a cute couple. I could relate to Dara and her wanting a family Christmas. Henrix opened himself to Dara in spite of the fact that he held onto what happened 20 years ago (I don't want to give it away.) After Dara's conversation with both Henrix and his uncle she left and went to the little town close to the castle. I was happy when Henrix showed up to get her. I am going to leave this here because I don't want to give to much away. This is good book people!
Very sweet Christmas story with ice castles, an Ice Dragon and his mate Sara who helps him heal the sorrows frim Christmas Past and solve the heartbreaking mystery he didn't even know needed to be solved !! It even has a Christmas tree decorated with real, diamonds, sapphires, rubies and gold ( for a Dragon don't ya know )!! 4⭐'s . Perfect medley of Dragon shifter, Christmas and triumpg over danger.

The Christmas Dragon’s Mate (Christmas Valley Shifters Book 1) by Zoe Chant. All alone at Christmas Dara drives up into the mountains to, hopefully, find a small hotel with a family feel to it. She finds a tunnel to a snow castle but when she walks through it she’s caught in a blizzard. Saved by the dragon, Henrik, who lives in the castle they realise they are mates but Henrik’s uncle tries to kill them so he can keep control of the families fortune.
A real feel good, warm and fuzzy romance just in time for the holidays! Henrik and Data are mates that have just met. They have an instant connection but there is a Brunch lurking in the background ready to steal their Christmas cheer. What a sweet little romance with the HEA I love in Zoe Chang books!
I wanted to like this book, but I had hang ups! The romance could have been better developed. Instead, I felt it was abrupt and lacked an emotional connection. The threat to Dara and Henrik also felt like a last minute addition to spice things up. Overall, the story wasn’t terrible. It was predictable and cute, but didn’t wow me.
Henrik is a lonely, gloomy dragon living all alone in an ice castle. Dara is an overzealous, young woman looking for snowy Christmas adventure. They come from two entirely different worlds, but find that mates just fit.
Chant has created a winter wonderland in Christmas Valley. I recommend reading this series.
This was a short, cute dragon shifter romance fantasy story to take you away from the real life for awhile, which is the purpose of a book. This one was a very relaxing read. There were some tense moments, like the confrontation between Henrik and his uncle and when Dara and Henrik were at cross purposes but it was a very heartfelt story.
Another fun, fast, romantic tale by Zoe! What I love about reading her stories is that they are uplifting and joyous glimpses into a fantasy world, which will draw you in and hold you tight 'til the end!
I loved the story although i always wish they go further like show them marry, the birth of their first child or even the reaction when he finds out she's pregnant just so it didn't end......I'm like that with all books i read... But regardless, i loved it... 2 thumbs up from me....
I was just OK. The story was cute as Dara and Henrik. If you want something heartwarming read this books is the one. What made me give it 3 stars that the book was predictable and boring sometimes.
Very good book. Good character building. Zoe Chant's books are always very good. Dara and Henrik were so good together. If you like Dragons and really great love stories, but this book.
They meet when she passes out from the cold, his dragon feels her, his mate. When she awakens it's instant love. His uncle tried to cause trouble but in the end the uncle is taken away and the form the bond. Great little shifter story.
Probably a 3 1/2 stars One thing that I haven’t liked in the last couple of books by this author is that they have sex first and then develop a relationship. It just seems like the wrong order. I would rather they care for each other first.
A evil uncle pretending of being there for him and a lonely girl finding her way to him. Discoverying they are mates, money wrench from evil uncle, and finding they're way back to each other and defeating the uncle.
Nicely written, with a woman who just wants to get away to the fantasy Christmas vacation village in her mind and ends up finding more. And if course, the more comes with a plot that isn't what she planned. Who wins? What's the prize?
The Christmas Dragon's Mate was a terrific story, and will certainly get you in the spirit of Christmas, no matter what time of year it is! I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Definitely a book that I would recommend!
Great read! The characters and storyline were well written. The story in a story was interesting and romantic. I would recommend this book to anyone. If you like books written by Zoe Chant you will love this one.
