Hannah, Lady Beeston, can’t say she’s sorry that her husband is dead. The past ten years have been anything but blissful, and seeing as they culminated into her being shot (albeit accidentally), she just can’t find it in her heart to be sad. But it leaves her with a bad leg and an uncertain future—two things she isn’t sure she can get past.
Dr. Graham Alcott is more than happy with his quiet bachelor lifestyle. He spends his days tending to the sick and his nights studying by candlelight. That is, until his colleague asks him to take on one very important patient.
Life as they know it is about to change for the better, but will forces beyond their control keep them from fulfilling their true destiny?
After obtaining a degree in Vocal Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and years of pursuing a career on the stage, Jerrica left the "glamorous" life of an actress in favor of writing romance. She continues to reside in the New York City area with her husband, cat and their precious daughter.
Hannah Ludlum, Lady Beeston, can’t believe her husband of ten awful years is by her side, attempting to take care of her as if he cares. After ten years of disdain and neglect. After he’s the reason she’s laying in her bed in pain. After he’s the one who shot her!
Dr. Graham Alcott knows conventional medicine, having been brought up under the tutelage his father; he also knows there are better ways to heal people. Unfortunately, not all people (especially members of the ton) are accepting. Charged by his mentor he now has the care of a widow recovering from a gunshot Graham is facing that challenge with her family. The challenge he didn’t expect was trying not to fall in love with the lovely widow.
Beautiful tale by Jerrica Knight-Catania that had me wanting to get rid of the horrible husband (more than once), rooting for the unconventional pair of doctor and patient, and smacking the patient’s family (especially her mother).
Ms. Knight-Catania finished with a beautiful epilogue involving all the Wetherby brides and grooms. Well done Ms. Knight-Catania!
Hm... A Doctor and his patient, a young widow! Now what could possibly happen? Guess, you'll have to read this delightful story to find out but I'm sure you will find it just as enjoyable and readable as I have. It is well written about the love between two very special people and their families with just the right mix of mystery, romancing, danger, a horrid and abusive husband, good times and bad and a very happy ending. I am very happy to recommend this story.
How to Care for a Lady (The Wetherby Brides, Book 6)
The love story of Hannah and Graham. Hannah is on the mend all because of a doctor name Graham. Graham is not only healing her wound but also her heart. This is the last book in the Wetherby Brides series. You love it and you will find out how everyone is doing.
I had fun following the family and how it moved forward. Now with this last book it was sad to know that it was the end. It was a good ending in my point of view. I'm glad that the author gave us still a little more to see how the family came together now that everyone had a family.
I enjoyed this series but I do recommend reading them all in a row. I read this one almost a year after the 1st 5 books and I think it would have been better if I read it all together.
I loved reading the story of Hannah and Graham. Hannah didn't start out as a strong heroine but grew into one as the story progressed. The ending, with her trying to handle her problems in her own way, showed how much she had grown into a courageous woman, including how she handled things when they came to a head!
Hannah ’Bunny’ Ludlum, Lady Beeston sister to the Duke of Somerset, can’t say she’s sorry that her husband is dead. The past ten years have been anything but blissful, and seeing as they culminated into her being shot (albeit accidentally), she just can’t find it in her heart to be sad. Hannah wonders if she’ll ever walk again. Her doctor Doctor Pritchard is called away to tend to a patient in the country & he asks his protégé Dr Graham Alcott to take over Hannah’s treatment.
There is an immediate attraction between the pair. Hannah’s convalescence makes steady progress. Hannah blossoms as at last someone sees her as a person not a possession. They profess their love for each other & announce their engagement at Graham’s sister’s Daphne (her of the rum butter) soiree. Things don’t go smoothly when Hannah has a problem but she's ‘grown’ so much that she resolves to solve it herself. This book could well stand-alone. I love series & would recommend the whole series & the linked Marisdun novellas. Another very good book from the author, I loved Graham, I’d liked him when he was a secondary character in the Marisdun novellas, so caring & sympathetic. Hannah had been a bit of a wet blanket in her brother Evan’s story but she found herself. Her plan for dealing with her problem was unusual but makes you smile. The pace of the book is good & I just wanted to keep on reading. I thoroughly enjoyed the epilogues, so good to catch up with the other Wetherby brides
Loved this latest (last?) installment of the Wetherby series. Widow Hannah has been shot in the leg, thanks to her womanizing husband, and Graham becomes her doctor. I loved how Graham was into new ways of medicine - I never was one for bloodletting myself - and how he weaned her off the addicting laudanum. He overcame the skepticism of Hannah's brother and domineering mother, though with initial resistance.
These two protagonists fell in love immediately and decide to marry, but it turned out Hannah's terrible deceased husband, Lord Beeston is still alive. He kidnaps her in order to get more money from Hannah's brother, who paid him off to America the first time. She gets rescued by everyone, especially helped by Beeston's ex-paramour, who hated him as well.
Enjoyed this book very much, especially the epilogues at the end, bringing everyone in the Wetherby series into full circle. I must be honest I didn't read all the Wetherby books, but this one wants me to read them all the more.

Hannah, Lady Beeston is having a bad life. She was married for 10 years to a cruel man who finally is dead after shooting her in the thigh while dueling her brother. Now, her family doctor has to go out of town and brings in a new doctor to handle her injury. Lucky for her, Dr Graham Alcott has been studying more modern techniques and is able to get her up and walking again. During her long convalescence the two become close and fall in love. Just when things are looking up something bad happens. Jerrica Knight-Catania provides a group on characters you can't help but like and pull for as their Happily Ever After seems to be in jeopardy. Of course, it all comes together on Christmas Eve. This book contains multiple epilogues which provide additional information on the various couples and friends in the Wetherby series. If you haven't read the books you might not know who everyone is but it is still nice to see everyone get a Happy Ending at Christmas.
