Hermes knows the identity of the thief: the lovely Greek studies professor, Penelope. Now, not only does he have to get to his sandals first, but he has to do so before Penelope steals something else: his heart.

Great story brings all of the characters from the first two books but could be great as a stand alone book. Can't wait for the next book! If you haven't read the first two books I encourage you to read them. The stories will pull you in and make you feel like you are the main character. You will feel all the emotions they feel and still want to yell at them when the do something stupid and love and laugh right along with them and the steamy parts will make you wish it was happening to you. Good reading.
Loved it! Three down, one to go! Lol! Only Eros to fall now! I loved Hermes story and did not expect the ending at all but it made me laugh! Well done Zeus! Totally copied his brother but still! I loved Penny as well, she did wrong and made a mistake but she was a good person and perfect for Hermes, they had great chemistry together! I can't wait for the next book in the series, hope we don't have to wait too long as I love seeing the young gods fall in this series and I'm especially looking forward to Eros's fall considering he's the last bachelor left among his friends!
After finishing A Scent of Greek, which is fabulous, I immediately downloaded A Taste of Greek for my Kindle and since again I was able to purchase the audio version for minimal cost, I downloaded it as well. This is another light-hearted farce that had me giggling and laughing out loud at the antics of Hermes and his friends as they solve the mystery, which is the premise behind this great book.
Hermes, the messenger god, has a dilemma. His winged sandals are gone and none of the gods can teleport until he has them back on his feet. His father, Zeus is raining down his wrath on the unsuspecting humans on earth. A week ago he met the delightful Penny Galloway and was immediately drawn to the enchanting instructor of Ancient Greek history and mythology, and she had spent the night in his bed. As much as he does not want to believe it, Penny must have stolen his sandals.
Penny is desperate. She has to write an article and has to get it published before the deadline to get tenure, or she will be out of a job and unable to help her grandmother. When she meets Hermes, she is immediately attracted to him in a big way. She notices his unusual sandals and wants to examine them to determine if they are as ancient as she suspects. When she awakens after a night of the most incredible sex of her life, she does the unthinkable and steals his sandals.
When one of the sandals is re-stolen from Penny, this starts the delightfully funny romp of Hermes retrieving the sandals, all while falling for the incredibly beautiful Penny. Will the couple find the sandals in time to avoid the full brunt of Zeus’ anger, falling in love along the way, or will circumstance destroy the love before it has a chance to deepen into the forever kind?
I loved the interaction between Hermes and Penny from the start, and the chemistry between the pair sizzles, definitely heating up my Kindle, making it almost too hot to hold! Hermes is everything one would expect in a god in the looks department, but he is also kind and forgiving as well. Even though Penney stole from him, he holds firm to his belief that there has to be a mitigating circumstance to cause her to do it.
Penny’s character is love and kindness personified, whether she is caring for her elderly grandmother or helping feed the homeless, her gentle and caring nature comes through. Now do not think for a minute she is too good. She’s feisty and determined with a will to rival Hermes or any god.
Oh, and again, Eric G. Dove does an outstanding job of bringing all the characters to life, from Penny’s cantankerous, yet loving grandmother, to her devious father. I just love his style. It is pure pleasure to enmesh myself in his fantastic narrative.
This is a great addition to the romantic comedy series and now I can’t wait for the final book, Eros’ story to come out. I highly recommend A Taste of Greek to all who love a funny romance with endearing characters. I also enjoyed reading of the other characters from the first and second book. I am confident that you will enjoy A Taste of Greek as much as I did. Happy reading!
I love this series of books by Tina Folsom and Cynthia Cooke, so was really annoyed at myself to realise that I hadn't noticed this book came out a few months ago.
I love the whole concept of the Greek Gods living amongst us and causing mayhem.
This book was Hermes story and it had me chuckling away throughout. The thought of him wearing his suits along with his gold sandals never failed to give me a chuckle. The intricacies of the story and the different spin it puts on things intrigues me.
This is a well-written super sexy book (it's about Greek Gods, so how could it not be?), that will have you chuckling away, shouting at Zeus and all manner of other things.
Can't wait to read the next book which is Eros' story. I would love to see a book about Hades, to get more on what is happening with him and Persephone.
Penny, a Professor of Greek History is trying to keep her job and gain tenure when she meets Hermes. Not realizing he is the Hermes she's always fancied over the other Greek Deities she is drawn to him but torn between the budding attraction and the responsibilities of her life. In a moment of academic curiosity she takes his winged sandals and chaos breaks out on Olympus and on Earth. Will the theft derail any hope of a happily ever after? Or can Penny and Hermes overcome the mistrust and find happiness and a life together?
Hermes wasn't like the Hermes I had imagined; like more mischievous, playful than the Hermes in this story. Still, it was okay and I liked the story BUT the scene from when Hermes has sex with Penny to "punish" her is NOT okay because of these words: "She wasn't meant to enjoy this, she was meant to feel his wrath!"
Had this sentence not been written I would have felt much better. Did Hermes plan to rape her? Well, the Hermes of the myths rapped quite a few women, but in this book it seemed different from his persona: Never once had he hurt a woman. He loved women.
I adore the Out of Olympus series. This book is about that sexy messenger God Hermes and his interest Penny. Special appearences by Hades, Hera, Zeus, and others make this a fun, wonderful book! Oh and don't forget Eros!! I hope his story will come soon!
Penny works at the University as a Greek professor. She is about to lose her job due to budget cuts. The only way to keep it is to get the one tenured place open, but she is in competition with another professor. She has to write an article that is published to get a chance. The other professor Kenton, is doing everything he can to win including sleeping with one of the board members. She can't lose her job because she takes care of her I'll grandmother too. Hermes is tired of Zeus always telling him that he needs to settle down like Triton and Dios. Zeus' sends him down to the underworld with a contract for Hades. He goes down after he has a date with Penny. While there he notices that the souls that were sent to Hades are not being able to cross the River Styx because the ferry workers are on strike. Hermes then asks Penny to be his date to Sophia's birthday party. After they spend the night together, his sandals disappeared. After searching, he realizes that Penny stole them. The bad part is that if he does not have the sandals or they are not in a hidden possession, then no God can transport anywhere. The story was okay. I didn't really care much for Penny. She was shown as having a good heart, even caring for people that had hurt her. But for some reason she repelled me. It made me not like the book as well as the previous two. This is just my reaction to the character, it does not mean that the book wasn't well written, because it definitely was. I love this authors books. The Scanguards are my favorites though.
Hermes sandals have been stolen. Without them being in the possession of a God none of the gods or others in Olympus can Teleport. He knows exactly who took them but he needs to find out why. Only problem is they’ve now been stolen from her as well and he can’t even think about what Zeus is going to do to her once he finds out. What’s a God to do when he finds that he’s falling in love with a thief?
I liked this book a lot more than book 2. I’ve read almost every single book Tina has written. She’s an amazing author that really knows how to make you fall in love with her characters I can’t wait to read how she will bring the Love God to his knees. Up next is Eros.
Penelope is a professor of Greek studies at a university in South Carolina. She's about to lose her position if she doesn't get tenure and is trying to find a research project. When she meets a guy name Hermes who has a pair of winged sandals, she decides to 'borrow' them to learn more. Hermes has been fighting off his dad Zeus, who keeps bugging him to find a wife. He likes his variety and isn't ready to settle down, but something about the human intrigues him. Until his sandals goes missing, which creates havoc in the underworld!!! This was a fun and sexy romance featuring Greek gods, with some interesting angles to their world. I listened to the audio version and did not care for the narrator - his voice sounded better suited to a non-fiction work rather than a sexy romance.
They are a fun easy read that at time the way the forms of the body are described or the terms used I felt I was reading something written by a man of the female form. If the language was a little more elegant this book would be be next level. The rest of the story is fun and compelling drawing the more classic Greek myths into a modern setting. I loved that aspect of the books a great deal applauding the author for the great research and tie INS to classic Greek culture.
I loved the heroine in this book. The emotion she portrayed was real and believable, and I could connect to her better in the story. However, Hermas's feeling towards her was so sudden, and I felt that there's no strong connection between the two.
The storyline was fantastic as usual. I enjoyed reading the book and also glad that I get to find out more about what happened to the characters from the previous books as well.
Silly fun with a touch of cra-cra! There was not much that qualifies as romance and it almost seems like they decided to settle at the end. I did enjoy the story overall but may stop reading the series from this point forward.
This is book three from Tina Folsom in the Out Of Olympus series. I have been waiting for this book for a long time and thankfully it was worth the wait! Hermes is a Greek God known as the messenger. His father Zeus is tired of his playbook ways and thinks Hermes needs to settle down with a good woman and have children. Hermes thinks Zeus is insane and needs to mind his own business!
What happens when a mortal woman catches Hermes eye and steals both his heart and his priceless winged sandals that allow the gods to teleport? How far will Hermes go to find her and punish her? Is Hermes the real threat or will Zeus deliver his own special form of punishment?
Don't forget to throw in various gods (Hades & Poseidon) making plans of their own, along with Triton, Dionysus and Eros not only helping their buddy Hermes but laughing at his impending doom!
This book is a can't miss in this series. Filled with laughter, suspicion, intrigue, betrayal and lots of lust this book is sure to be a hit!
This is the third book in Tina Folsom's Out of Olympus series and it was just as good as the first two.
Penny is a Greek Historiab professor who has to publish something in order to earn tenure at the college. She meets Hermes at a coffee shop and immediately is attracted to him. The feeling is mutual and sparks fly.
After a dinner party that Hermes takes her to a night of passion ensues and the next morning Penny makes a decision to satisfy her curiousity that has godly repurcussions. Now she has to come clean with Hermes and avoid Zeus' s punishment for her actions and find a way to repair the damage she's done and maybe find happiness with the messenger god.
I liked the plot of this book buttt Penny kind of nnoyed me. *Spoiler* ....such as when she couldn't remember who else saw her with Hermes's sandals. Did she forget the she hid in a bathroom because the guy whose trying to take his shot at tenure has obviously taken an interest in the non conspicuous golden sandals that were just chillin on her desk? And then she cried amd felt sorry for herself while it took like 4 chapters for her to figure out her rival had taken them. But it was still a good book I'd still recommend it (:
Very good book, but I think there was something lacking for me in the plot. Although a little predictable, the Out of Olympus series is a lot of fun coupled with some pretty steamy romances and witty dialogues. I think Penny just didn't do it all the way for me as far as the other heroines go, but Hermes sure was a lot of hot Greek fun! Very enjoyable read!
From start to finish this book was perfection. I have loved Greek Mythology since I was a kid and I'm so glad I found this series. Tina Folsom has a way of pulling you into the story and bringing all of the Gods and Goddesses to life. I am so excited to see this series is continuing and I can't wait to read the next book about Eros. If you haven't started this series yet you really need to. :)
The funniest of the three and very intriguing. Your impression about the Greek Gods will change and the plot was just to much fun. A lot of loving among the Gods, they are portrayed as every day people, but with a little more magic. My favorite part is when Hermes takes a call on his cellphone from Penny while he is in the river Styx. You will love this story.
I just LOVE Tina Folsom's Greek Gods! A Taste of Greek was simply tastey! Hermes is sexy as Hades and Penny was jut the perfect fit for him! I liked how the story unfolded and how the ending was great! I look forward to the next Out of Olympus book......Eros maybe?
Hermes is so funny and so determined that Dio and Triton are crazy for settling down. Penny meets her favorite Greek god but of course has no clue who he really is. Some borrowed sandals turn every god's world upside down and lead Hermes and Penny on a wild goose chase.
