Sut Lovingood. Yarns Spun by a "Nat'ral Born Durn'd Fool"

Rate this book
Humorous stories based on frontier oral traditions of antebellum Tennessee. Harris is said to have influenced Mark Twain, William Faulkner, and other Southern writers. Hell-raising Sut is Harris' storyteller throughout these ribald tales written in the local vernacular. A later edition edited by M. Thomas Inge provides a very helpful glossary.
