Omegaverse #5

The Marches of Edonis

Rate this book
Having just begun to relax from their first adventures together, Wulfgar and his friends - Lauren, Snorri, and Rydra - were enjoying themselves in the tavern. They were reliving their harrowing fight with the Lich, which they barely survived, when a messenger arrived with a new quest.

A messenger from the King.

Now they needed to find out why they were being singled out for special attention! And there was only one way to accomplish that - to embark on the quest from King Clive!

Author's Note:

Included at the end of this volume are two extra works. The first is a science-fiction short story that was included in an anthology this year. Following that is an excerpt from a forthcoming novel I’m working on. It is also science-fiction, and neither are LitRPG. I hope you enjoy them!

I point out their inclusion mainly so that I can let you know that this novel, The Marches of Edonis, ends at approximately 90% on my kindle. Without those extras, this novel is approximately 400 words - a couple of pages - shorter than The Kings of Edonis.

About the author

G.R. Cooper

10 books40 followers
G.R. Cooper is a twenty year veteran of the game industry, mostly spent in the trenches of massively multi-player online game development. He's done a little of everything; producing, level design, AI scripting, community management, customer support - even a little 3D modeling - but he considers himself a game designer at heart. He's worked for big game companies you've heard of, as well as a lot of little start-ups that never went anywhere (but were a whole metric butt-load of fun to work at).

While much of his job does indeed involve, and revolve around, writing, the Omegaverse is his first endeavor in trying to put that skill-set to work in fiction (unless you count many of his weekly status reports).

Liked it

I liked the book. I still think it should have existed as a separate series instead of part of what started as a sci fi series.

Back to the basics

Cooper really pushed the story along hard in this one, and I am very interested to see where he takes us from here! We see many new characters this time around as well as a return to a game mechanic not seen in a few books now. Overall, really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next installment!

It's more of a filler between book 4 and what is to come (I hope) in book 6. Really short read, and not much happens.

Setting up for something big!

I really enjoy the ride that Mr. Cooper has been taking us on. The reading is not heavy and you start to feel for the characters pretty quickly. My only negative is that I think it is going to be another 6 to 8 months I told the next book.

Good series

I have enjoyed this series as it has covered many different parts of a game that is not a game. Very enjoyable and doesn't bog down.

Continue to enjoy the series, although there's a definite sinister feeling to this book.

Some of the choices and plot devices don't make a lot of sense in the context of the story and he still hasn't asked anyone about his money.

Looking forward to the next one though.
