Na domiar złego Avengers dostrzegają coraz więcej zmian w zachowaniu Spider-Mana i rozważają wykluczenie go z grupy. Twórcami trzeciego albumu z serii są: wieloletni scenarzysta przygód Spider-Mana, Dan Slott (The Amazing Spider-Man, She-Hulk) oraz rysownicy Humberto Ramos (The Amazing Spider-Man, Runaways) i Ryan Stegman (Scarlet Spider, Inhuman).
I read the comic books Superior Spider Man #6-10. Superior is looking like a smarter, more effective, solution focused Spider-Man, but a group of people have concerns about his use of excessive force. Those people? The Avengers? Meanwhile Peter Parker sees an opportunity, will he make the most of it? Intriguing, a markedly more efficient but more violent Spidey, what's an Avenger to do? 8 out of 12. 2014 read; 2014 read Twice in 2014!
This TPB edition collects "Superior Spider-Man" #6-10.

SUPERIOR SWAP
In case you're jumping to read here, this second TPB continues with the storyline about Dr. Otto Octavious (aka Doctor Octopus) cheating death, transfering his mind to the body of Peter Parker (aka The Amazing Spider-Man), and with that, he became...
The Superior Spider-Man!!!
While Octavious' mind is in control of the body, he got a massive shock of the memories of Peter Parker and with that, he got a interesting twist about the lesson of...
...With a great power, comes a great responsibility.
So, now, Octavius keeps alive the role of the web-shooting super-hero BUT thinking as a criminal mastermind, but while you could think that it can be a bad thing, but...
IT ISN'T!!!
Who would guess that a criminal mastermind could be such superior hero?
Now, Spider-man is more efficient, more resourceful and even having full support from the NYPD and the Mayor's office.
EACH STEP EXPLAINED
I can understand that hardcore fans of Spider-man aren't happy with this change of minds, but since it's obvious that it's something temporary, so while it last, I am enjoying the ride, since indeed, Otto is doing the "super-hero business" in a really effective way, maybe not in the "traditional" super-hero way, but his methods are paying up in big way.
Also, each action by Octavius is explained detailing facts of his past life so you can understand why he reacts in some way to certain situation.
Maybe you won't approve it, maybe you do, but you can't deny that you get the info to understand why he is doing each thing.
TOO CROWDED MIND
Inside the mind of Octavius, there are the memories of Peter Parker and those memories made a "conscience" of Peter that it's trying to get control again of his body.
In this TPB, you will see how far this "Peter" is willing to go to obtain his goal of get back Peter's body. Where it will test your assessment of who is the hero and who the villain in that mind.
Also, Octavius is not only improving the effectiveness of Spider-man, but also he is doing important things that Peter didn't get to finish on his own time (college doctorate, anyone?), so you can think that Octavius is improving too, Peter's personal and professional life.
It's hillarious the dumb intervention of the Avengers here. Certainly, as Octavius pointed out, the fact that in that moment, the Avengers' roster were lacking of Tony Stark and Hank Pym, making them not so bright in the analyzing area. But it's quite amusing (and hypocritical) that they're so shocked that now Spider-Man is willing to kill when they have killed too (a super-soldier, a norse god, a former Russian spy, a Weapon X subject, etc...), they all have kill more than once but it's like the killing rules apply to other people and not them.
I love it! Superior Spider-Man bubbles over with outrageous, unapologetically silly ideas and plot twists, and every single one of them is designed to serve one purpose and one purpose only: to be fun. Not to be clever or deep or gritty or shocking or “superior” – just to be fun. And boy, do Slott and Ramos deliver big time! I mean, this is almost as exciting, dramatic, wacky and energizing as Smilin’ Stan Lee’s original run – a wild ride at breakneck speed! I thought they didn't make em like that anymore...
It's hard to say, really. It would be tempting to tell you that I think the humor is the highlight of this title, but there's so much more to the story than just some cheap laughs. But don't worry, there are plenty of cheap laughs. Since Otto has taken over Peter's body & life, he's made some changes in the way Spider-Man does things. And I gotta say, I like the way he operates...mostly. Gone is the quippy web-slinger who leaves the bad guys tied up in webbing for the police. And in his place is an (unintentionally) funny vigilante who has a no-nonsense approach to crime fighting. And a bit of a temper. It's the last part that brings his antics to the attention of his fellow Avengers, who bring him in for a gentle 'talking to'. You know, to make sure he's not a Skrull or something...
Then there's Ana Maria. Wow. This is a really well done romance! There's no cheesy 'he learns to love her despite' thing going on. She just is and Otto just can't help but fall for her. It's a great way to introduce a character who maybe isn't the norm, and show that they really are just like everyone else. Nicely done, Slott.
As the title suggests, this one has a mental showdown between Peter & Otto. Again, this could have been cheesy, but Slott kept it from going sideways. No spoilers for those of you who haven't read this one, so I'm afraid I can't comment on the Big Battle too much. Read it...
The story with the vigilante Cardiac was pretty awesome, as well. Slooooooowly, The Grinch Otto is growing a heart.
Ok, I'm on to volume 3! Where, hopefully, there will be plenty more of Superior Spider-Man's creepy villain laugh.
This review is in the written style of my “virtual wife”, Anne (This morning, you forgot to pack my lunch again, sweetheart) . It’s a legal union in Utah, the Northwest Territories, Chad, and because she’s older that twelve, several counties in Alabama.*
Bite Me, radioactive spider!!
No, literally bite me. I want spider powers too.
Is this as good as Volume One? (Insert fan boy squeals of assent )
It seems that Doc Ock did the old switcheroo with Spiderman back when. So now Peter Parker’s consciousness is bouncing around in Ock’s skull like a Pong ball on Red Bull.
The only way this can get any worse is if, Ock/Spider-man offs Aunt May’s husband and starts dating her again. This would be wrong on sooooo many levels. Blech to that mental image. NOT SMEXY!!!
Ock as Spider-man is still making questionable decisions. Hello and enter Avengers with Stark’s creepy and invasive vidtech! We’ve been watching you!
Word of advice, Ock – It’s never a good thing to wise off to Thor and other assorted Avengers and then come out swinging. DUMBASS! So much for the self-proclaimed super genius tag. Mensa membership revoked.
So the Avengers had Ock/Spiderman submit to a brain scan and prostate exam to make sure he’s the real deal.
There’s something there on the brain scan, but because none of the Avengers were neurologists, Ock gets a pass.
With Parker making inroads to his/Ock’s mind, can he regain control or will there be bowl-cuts in Parker’s future?
And Ock, I hope you choke on that stuffed animal. Bastard!
The art is a small problem. Hey Spider-artists, Romita Sr. should be the one you’re cribbing not Jr.
Still, almost as good as the first one, so go read it!
*Shout out to a Nigerian “friend” who arranged this for a small fee.
Check Anne’s excellent reviews and to see why she’s a nerd goddess:
SO GOOD! Superior Spider-man is SO GOOD - that’s how it should only be described, only in superlative capitals. I picked this up yesterday thinking I’d read an issue or two before I start my day and I couldn’t put it down until I’d read it straight through. Then I went online and bought issues #11-17 on eBay - this book made me switch from trades to monthlies because it’s too long to wait for the collected editions!
If you’re reading a review of Vol 2, you probably already know the setup, but if you don’t, the short version is Doc Ock’s mind is in Peter Parker’s body. Doc Ock’s body is dead, Peter Parker’s mind is dead (but his soul is still haunting a part of his mind) and nobody knows Peter Parker is now Otto Octavius. Moreover Ock is determined to carry on being Spider-man, but he will use his higher intellect to become an even better Spider-man - a Superior Spider-man!
In this book, people start to question what’s going on with “Peter” especially after the conclusion of the first volume where Spider-man executed a villain! He starts off this book by severely beating a pair of pranksters in a live streamed video that the Avengers see and decide to bring him in for testing. Meanwhile Cardiac is running an underground clinic for people in dire need of medical help but can’t afford it and he needs a piece of equipment to save a little girl’s life - only problem is, it’s Octavius tech that the new Spider-man is strangely deeply possessive of! And finally, Doc Ock and Peter Parker have a showdown - inside Peter’s head.
SO GOOD. I can’t stop saying it, I loved this book. I love that Dan Slott is giving Doc Ock numerous challenging situations, both physically and morally. Spidey fighting the Avengers? Great! Then having to save the life of a girl whose condition he caused? Amazing! I love Anna Maria’s character and that Slott is taking Peter back to school to earn his doctorate. Spider-man’s always been written as a super-brain and Slott is underlining this aspect of the character, ensuring he’s raised up amongst the likes of Reed Richards, Bruce Banner, and Tony Stark.
Peter also plays a big part in this book. He’s slowly regaining control of his body and trying to make people aware that it’s Otto and not him who’s in charge of his body and that’s why he’s so changed, while Officer Carlie Cooper is trying to prove that that’s the case. And the fight between Peter and Otto at the end is brilliant. Surreal, imaginative, full of insights into both characters, especially Otto’s who’s undergone some remarkable changes since the series began. Couple Dan Slott’s dynamite script with Humberto Ramos and Ryan Stegman’s art and you’ve got gold.
Slott is firing on all cylinders with this series. It’s no understatement to call Superior Spider-man a masterpiece because it really is one of the best Spider-man storylines the character’s ever had and Slott is working every angle, weaving all the story threads masterfully into one coherent, utterly compelling whole. It’s an absolute joy to read - Superior Spider-man is both the title and an appropriate description for this book. Superhero comics at its finest!
Dan slott still delivers on, what will probably, be my favorite run of Spider-man in awhile.
Dr. Ock is still in control. Still doing the hero thing even with his more brutal ways. After killing Massacure the avengers try to take him in to make sure he really is Spider-man. Once he passes he notices something is off. Then it's time for him to go inside his OWN mind and take out Peter Parker who has been inside him trying to fight. This brings us to a major turning point, one you might not expect.
Good: The art is still great. The pacing and storyline are interesting. The intent to push Peter forward and give him objectives and be successful in life is a nice change of pace. I also loved the fights for they are more vicious and really feel like a different spider-man.
Bad: It's still a little filled with bad dialog here and there.
Overall this is easily Dan's best Spider-man story. I hope it continues to be as good as it is because I'll keep on reading! A 4 out of 5.
How is this so good? I don't like the basic premise any more than I did when I first heard it. It's doomed to fail eventually, right? Marvel can't possibly be fully committed to having Otto be in Peter's body forever. Right? But I have to put aside my misgivings about the premise when I read the book, because Slott isn't just making the best of a bad premise, he's absolutely knocking it out of the park.
The differences between Peter's Spidey and Otto's Spider-Man are definite, obvious, and make perfect sense. Otto is more ruthless, more methodical. And in some ways, he's doing a better job. He's certainly more efficient, but he's also far more violent. He's more accepted on an official level, but he isn't as well-liked. Killing Massacre in the previous volume was a defining moment, and I like the way this volume follows up on it. The mixed reactions seem dead-on to me. I especially liked the way Slott handled the Avengers' concern. They aren't particularly worried that a criminal was killed by a superhero, they're concerned that Peter Parker was the one doing it. It isn't like him.
But the best thing here is the internal battle between the remains of Peter Parker and Otto for dominance of Peter's body. It's a fantastic read, with great imagery and an outcome that I didn't exactly see coming. Where does the book go from here? What's the final destination? I don't know, not exactly, and that's exciting.
Peter Parker is still hanging around in the background of his mind. Watching Otto take over and do things very differently than he would. Peter isn't giving up yet. Meanwhile Doctor Octopus is delivering his own brand of justice which is leaving a lot of people uncomfortable.
The Superior Spider-Man is a self-righteous prick. I honestly don't like Doc Ock as Spider-Man. I realize that's largely the point, but it's making The Superior Spider-Man hard to read. Doc Ock is just being himself which just shows how fortunate the world was that a good guy like Peter Parker was bit by that spider rather than a villain.
I'm going to try one more volume of this and if I'm still feeling indifferent then I'll skip ahead to the next Spider-Man series.
Brilliantly brutal and oddly heartwarming at times, the series continues to impress with its originality. There’s great growth for Otto who is starting to properly flesh his Spider-Man out, as well as interesting developments in regards to Peter’s involvement. The supporting players also get more to do which helps with the world building of what’s turning into very unfamiliar territory. Underneath the action is an interesting conversation about morals and the blurring line between heroic righteousness and villainous barbarity that’s so often portrayed as black and white in superhero media.
Spider-man gets more lethal as he engages Screwball and Jester and the things he does yikes. Otto is becoming more lethal and between seeing Anna maria and handling his life in ESU and the drama surrounding there, its fascinating to see how he builds and tackles various things. If that was not enough he fights the Avengers and when threats strike close to home, he must face Cardiac as he has more motives and he goes through his rogues gallery and also the rise of Goblin king coming!
Loved this volume and its getting interesting seeing the length Otto will go to considering Peter wouldn't and I love that story in the mind face off of Otto and Pete and that leads one to question, is Otto superior? Maybe his methods are extreme but is he wrong? And also amazing to see how Slott shows his supporting cast here and explores Otto through them and leading to the inevitable fight! Plus the art by Ramos is getting so much better here!
6 - After they humiliate Mayor Jameson, Spidey goes after Jester and Screwball. Meanwhile, the Avengers are beginning to suspect all is not well in Spider-land.
I love watching Otto adjust to Peter's life in his pompous way. Peter spouting super-villain dialogue is also pretty awesome. Also, Slott does a great job at showing how dangerous Spider-Man can be without a moral compass.
7 - Spider-Otto deals with Cardiac and the Avengers have a talk with him.
Wow, talk about cliffhanger endings. I'm dying to see how things pan out with the Avengers and Cardiac. And Anna Marie, for that matter.
8 - Carlie Cooper knows it's not Peter in control of Spider-Man but needs proof! Also, Spidey takes on the Avengers and settles things with Cardiac!
The saga of Spider-Otto continues. The bit with Pinkie Penguin near the end nearly loosed a man tear from me. Also, Peter's attempt to warn the Avengers was kind of heartbreaking when it failed.
9 - Otto attempts to eradicate the little bit of Peter Parker contained within his brain.
The battle between Otto and Peter inside Spidey's head was pretty brutal. Is Peter gone forever? I'll pretend I think so.
10 - Carlie tries to convince the chief that something is up with Spidey. Meanwhile, Peter enjoys some quality time with Anna Marie and the Green Goblin hacks Spidey's network.
The looming showdown between Octo-Spider and the Green Goblin is going to be epic! I love what's going on with Peter and Anna Marie.
Closing Thoughts: Dan Slott delivers the goods once again. I can't say enough good things about the Superior Spider-Man. Four out of five stars.
The pressure starts to mount in this volume as Doc Ock notices that Peter Parker's consciousness is still in his body, and some of Peter's friends and colleagues notice that something is not right about Spider-man. Doc Ock as Spider-man is still a lot of fun to read, and the art is more consistently good than in the first volume.
Not quite as good as volume 1. The main arcs are Spider-Man vs. The Avengers (but not really), and Spider-Man vs his own mind.
The Superior Spider-Man is also delegating tasks to actual police and firefighters, which is a brilliant move but the book seems to be going in the direction of that not being as good as him personally solving every crime. For example, MJ is confused because a firefighter saved her instead of Spider-Man. Get over yourself girl!
Wow. Where to start...? First off, I thought Vol. 1 was one of the all-time great Spider-Man stories. This is a pretty damn great follow up.
Doc Spidey beats the ever-living shit outta a couple of hooligans, on the internet, which makes the Avengers decide it's time to call him in (especially after he used deadly force last volume). Wolverine was the only one suggesting that none of them were in a position to judge Peter, but after seeing the devastating assault, even Logan was on board.
Before they can get him in though, he has a run-in with Cardiac, a vigilante who he nearly kills as well, but for Peter's voice/soul in his brain, which screams at him to stop. Otto is confused and Cardiac disappears.
The Avengers call him in, and it doesn't go well...5-on-1 fight, only Peter's voice again proves the difference...The Avengers clear Spidey, after having decided he's not a Skrull, but still put him on probation...
In the midst of the scans, Otto sees an anomaly, which forces him to go after one of his old devices (being used by Cardiac, for GOOD) and this leads to another throw-down between the two. However, Otto soon realizes that Cardiac is using his old tech to heal people who'd otherwise be left to die by the normal system. He gets a wake-up call, that a little girl is dying due to his actions (as Doc Ock), which puts him in a strange moral place. What Slott does here with the writing may be a little over the top to try and make us all like Doc Spidey more, but it still makes the point, that Otto is actually committed to being a better person as Peter Parker than he was as Otto.
The next section of the volume involves the inevitable showdown between Peter's spirit and Otto's mind. It gets a little metaphysical and very psychological, but it is done in a very interesting way that reveals a lot about just how much Peter has been stripped bare, and leaves us with no doubt who's in charge.
With the battle of his mind now settled, Doc Spidey sets off to really go to work, nearly Punisher-style, on the organized crime of NYC. (In fact, I would wonder how long it will take for Frank Castle to show up here, with the new Spidey doing what he's doing...I think that would be an AWESOME storyline. No way Frank believes this is still Spider-Man.)
Unbeknownst to Otto, his work to rid the city of crime is actually helping strengthen someone else, who Spidey really would prefer not to have to deal with again...(GREAT Page to end the volume on. Slott really knows how to do the cliffhanger final spread. If I didn't have VOls 3-5 waiting I probably would have gone out to get them. I know how Sam felt!)
Peter also has a blossoming new relationship with Anna Maria, who's at school with him, while Parker gets his PhD. I love that Slott focused such effort on Otto being so disgusted with Parker not getting it that he goes right to work doing it, and managing to balance all the Spidey stuff too, just to show how superior he really is as Spider Man to PP.
Meanwhile, even though, for the moment, he's escaped the Avengers suspicions, and Peter is gone, there are a couple women who just aren't fooled, and are going to dig deep into proving Peter isn't Peter...
It's hard to follow up so brilliant a book/reinvention of an iconic character, but Slott is doing a fantastic job, and also building a legacy that will be hard to follow up. This storyline is quickly climbing the ranks to be epic.
Tone shifts from gloriously ridiculous in the last book to dread in this one. Ock-as-Spidey has started to take down baddies in truly brutal fashion and it's worrying his friends and teammates, though of course JJJ is as always the contrarian.
There's a lot of exposition (noticeably during the Cardiac tale) that slows down the pacing. I don't mind a little inner monologue in my Spidey comics, but don't insert DC levels of mansplaining Marvel, please!
Further in we get a heartfelt (which is to say, sappy and overdone) confrontation between a Parker's mind and Doc Ock. I'm goofing to lazy and say it wasn't written well, but the honest truth is (at least at this point in the Superior Spider-Man storyline) it's pretty unnecessary. Yes Peter and Ock should struggle for control, and I like to see the continued interplay, but not so soon or so starkly laid out eh? We could use a little subtlety if this run is meant to go on for a while. Otherwise his just seems cheap and forced, and I thought Slott was growing beyond that now.
I'm still in - I'm invested to the end with Slott's Spidey - but this book let some of the air pit of the racing tires on the excitement I felt in the first Superior book. Hope the next one picks back up.
There is less and less hope for Peter Parker coming back but this is comics so nothing lasts forever I am sure. I remember how "dead" Superman, Batman, Captain America and Bucky all were and they are all back so I think it's inevitable. But I am kind of sick of Otto Octavius' attitude as far as his superiorness goes. I don't think he is actually superior. While his spider-bots are cool and all, Spidey is looking more and more like Batman to me. And as far as Batman goes, Batman is a much cooler Batman than Doc Ock ever will be. Also Ock crosses lines that Peter (and for that matter Batman) wouldn't cross and it kind of makes me uncomfortable. Maybe it's just my hang up but I always felt like Spider-Man should be a title you can relate to if you are an average guy, especially a kid but no way I would give this to my kid to read.
Dan Slott, if there's any justice in the world, will be in the pantheon of great comic book writers. Yes, it's a nerdy pantheon that's supported by weirdos and Taco Bell's late night menu, but goddamn it, it's a pantheon.
It'll be interesting to see whether this happens or not, whether it's possible to be mentioned in the same breath as Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. If it's possible, Slott will do it. If Slott doesn't do it, then I really have to believe it's not possible. At this point I've read a good portion of all the Amazing Spider-Man comics ever written, and I think that Slott has written with more consistent greatness for that character than anyone else, an honor I would have bestowed on Bendis for Ultimate Spider-Man before, but I think that Slott might be surpassing him in my heart.
I can't deny that I'm enjoying this. Peter makes a move against Otto and I got caught up in the moment. Forgive me, it's been awhile since I read a Spidey story. Peter's defense and Otto's position both change a little here, progressing the story along. I'm definitely hooked at least until I can see how Peter overcomes this.
I've never been a fan of Ramos' art. It's a little too quirky for me but I admit he has quite a bit of energy in the panels he draws. Stegman drew the rest of this volume and I'm really enjoying his work.
What happens when everyone's favourite wall-crawler gets replaced by one of his greatest enemies and carry on the mantle of Spider-Man? For better or worse, things are going to be different and certainly there's a huge section of the Spidey fanbase were not happy. However, the first volume proved that the change of both alter-ego and vigilante open the door for whole new Spider-Man stories, of which this reader is happy to follow.
With Otto Octavius as the Superior Spider-Man, whose recent violent actions have caused public attention, whether it is being praised by Mayor J. Jonah Jameson or being criticised by Earth's Mightiest Heroes as he is no longer an Avenger. As the line between hero and villain is blurred, the voice of Peter Parker is hidden somewhere in Otto's consciousness and he's trying to reclaim his body.
Considering that Superior is a darker story than what we're used to with Spider-Man, there is still plenty of room for humour as the first issue showcases the prankster duo that is Jester and Screwball, both of which publicly ridiculed Jameson, causing many of New York's citizens in bursts of laughter, including Otto as Peter laughing maniacally. Even the fight between Spidey and the pranksters can get goofy in the best way, to then eventually going down a dark path that causes major repercussions for our anti-hero. This issue alone shows Dan Slott can cleverly balance the light and the dark.
Throughout this volume, Slott is constantly raising the question on whether the actions of Otto as Spidey are a righteous cause as most of the NYPD are looking the wrong way to support Spidey's killing of Massacre, while the Avengers try to investigate who Spider-Man really is, leading to hilarious results. The answer to that question occurs in issue #9, in which having discovered Parker's presence within his mind, a mental battle ensues between Otto and his former adversary, who as Spider-Man was reacting to a lot of situations as oppose to actively pursue them and how his actions did cause the amount of tragedy throughout his life.
I've always had mixed feelings towards Humberto Ramos, whose overly-cartoonish character designs can be too much for my eyes, but in the case of Superior, which as said before can balance a tone between humour and grimness, his art seems appropriate. In terms of his artistic highlights, going back to the Jester/Screwball issue, the images of Spidey getting hit in the "arachnads" and then his costume being splattered with paint whilst revealing Peter's eyes is just great. Returning to the series is Ryan Stegman, whose art improves here in the last two issues, where it's not as rough as before as evidenced in #9, where it takes in a literal mind-trip where classic characters, both good and bad, clashing it out in a psychedelic setting.
There may still be naysayers, but Superior is one of the freshest and best stories for the Spider-Man mythos, where Otto's actions will always be questioned, he finds new and interesting relationships, whilst a returning member from Spidey's classic foes is setting up his big game.
İlk ciltle kıyaslandığında daha sönüktü. Pek Spider-Man kötülerden ziyade Avengers ve kendisiyle mücadeleye etmekle meşguldü.
Mücadeleyi kazanan Otto vücudundaki Peter'a ait tüm anıları siliyor. Tabii bu kendisinin mizahından da çalıyor. Spider-Man'in soğuk esprilerinin daha kötüye gitmesinde polis teşkilatı bile yakınıyor.
Hayatının Peter Parker kısmı yine çok güzel gidiyor. May yengesi mutlu, yeni sevgilisi Anna Maria mutlu.
This premise is still so wild to me like what do you MEAN Otto Octavius has stolen Peter Parker's body and is now doing everything in his power to be a better Spider-man?? 😭
It's so funny because I literally love that for him. A bit of Peter Parker is still in his brain too but Otto fights that and I was rooting for that dude like sorry Peter! He really is a superior spider-man. He is more calculated and more brutal, but he is efficient. He doesn't make quips in the middle of fights but he is still unintentionally funny.
Idk but that was some character growth too when he was helping the vigilante, Cardiac. Like oops, he wasn't familiar with Cardiac's game but once he was familiar!!
I really like the romance actually. The way it's done is so chill and as normal as you can be with a wacko scientist in the body of a superhero.
It was so funny seeing the Avengers show up and be like oh hey spidey wtf are you doing killing people so they force him through tests to see if he is a skrull. Then it turns out they are all just too dumb to realize his brain waves or something are off, I died laughing. The ones that are there aren't known for their brains lmao.
The thing that really drags down my enjoyment is how much I don't like the art style though like the colors are ugly, everything is ugly. I deal with that though!!
Really great follow up to the first volume. Took all the ideas further and twisted them more. I particularly liked issue 9, it was great all around. While I’m personally not a big fan of Ramos’ art style, it was well done. Stegman was back to form as well with issues 9-10. However, the colouring on those issues were a bit muted.
Another solid volume of Superior Oct....I mean Spider-Man! Otto finally sheds Peter, sidesteps the Avengers (for now), falls in love, and pisses off the Goblin King. All in a day's work! Highly recommended. Off to read volume 3...
