After being saved from annihilation by the Old Gator’s daring plan, Gabriel and the crew of the Magellan find themselves in the most unlikely of a captured enemy starship. While learning to control the alien vessel introduces a new set of challenges, the secrets they discover within may prove to be the edge they so desperately need. With the rebellion on Earth rushing headlong toward a final, last-ditch battle and the remainder of the alien armada standing between them and home, it will take all of their strength, courage, and ingenuity to destroy the enemy once and for all. M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.
He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.

Tides of War by M.R. Forbes and narrated by Jeff Hays answer his awesome sci-fi series perfectly! Great action, multiple aliens cooperating together, good vs evil, the "secret weapon" lol! Enjoyed it all! Hays is perfect in everything he narrates! All types of aliens too! 👽
Ehhh, it was ok. Nothing that I wasn't expecting. A bit predictable. Disliked the new romance elements. Did not like the ending. There were also some loose ends. In the previous books it mentioned another alien race (and even gives the name) but then stopped at that. I'm not sure if this is a reference to another book series or what's up here but I'm left confused at the purpose in this. Not the worst I've read but far from the best.
Don't care for the random love stories thrown in there but i guess it shows a human need. But the 3 scientist figured ALLLLL that shit out in such a short time? ....?
2.5 stars. There is still so much that is unbelievable about the story. 3 scientist figure out all the alien tech? One of those scientist is apparently a savant bc he is the matter at all forms of engineering and linguistics and can update systems in the blink of an eye. 4000 soldiers march in record time from NY to Austin without running into any enemies? Where are the bek'hai elsewhere on the planet? They don't get the message to go to Mexico? (Is was answered in 2 sentences.... They are planet-wide, but have no idea what is going on in America. They don't have comms?) It got pretty old having everything revolve around the St. Martins, like kind of eyerolly. Throughout the whole series, it tried to be gritty and there was good action, but it still felt overly positive and clean with the way everything always wrapped up so nicely, despite how impossible it had been for earth to survive those first 50 years. It wasn't the worst sci-fi, but it certainly isn't the best.
This is the last of the Rebellion trilogy. As a continuation, the plot and most of the characters were developed in the previous books. It was well written in third person, moving among the different theaters of action and from perspectives of different characters.
The action and sequences are well laid out to maintain interest as the story progressed. This is a good, action sci-fi tale. There are some twists and surprises that also keep it interesting.
I read the Kindle version as the complete set. I did find that there are many editing mistakes and typos. The name of one of the bek'hai characters, Tea'va, is sometimes spelled as Te'ava. There are quote marks missing in multiple places and some word typos and other words missing. It just needs someone to go through and make the corrections in this version.
I would recommend this book and the series. This would not make much sense if not read in order.
A final conclusion for the overthrowing of an invasion of earth with a bit more good will nature from unexpected sources. The main alien origin species sound almost like demons in physical form and it was quite a surprise to have them be good guys, sort of pissed that the Tune (spelling ? due to Audio listening) died on Earth. I could picture a second trilogy seeing battle against anarchy and maybe seeing to those other aliens that were mentioned, a bit of foreshadowing there for the set I would guess.

The Final Countdown🚀🌏💥 Space Opera!🚀👽🗡💫💥🔫 This is space opera🚀. It is not supposed to be technically correct or scientifically correct. It is action🐺💪🗡🔫💥 and adventure🚀 And good versus evil👹. It is fantasy. It is escapism.
The only thing I had a problem with was the jumping back and forth between the characters in space🚀 and the characters on the earth🌏 But these shifts were mostly done At the beginning of chapters.
I got this e-book from Amazon📚 with Kindle unlimited
A solid sci-fi series. Some fresh new ideas and interesting, well thought out technology. Characters were likeable and varied. The different types of aliens and their social structure was original and complex. I would recommend to any sci-fi fan as solid and entertaining series.
Solid writing, author built a depressingly realistic but engaging and addicting tome. So many amazing stories built into the main story through character development. Seriously many authors try to do this and rarely do this well. Forbes is a new favorite of mine and I've read all the warhammer 40k lit, four horsemen books, and many more. This is good writing!
Lots of fighting and a few mysteries solved. The St Martin's give their all bringing the disparate wings of humanity back together and even finding allies amongst their enemies. All in a bit to win earth back.
Very good . A great a deal of action from page one through the end. always an intriguing end that leads to the next story. Characters you will identify with , love, hate , sorrow, and Joy . I recommend highly
This 3 book series is as great as book 1 and book two. I've read the forever war series too. This author makes it so real you feel You are there , without the sex and filthy language!
M. R. Forbes continues to write great space opera stories. Full of action, peopled with facinating characters involved in exciting adventures. Read this series...you'll like it!
The culmination of a nice 3 book arc was everything I had hoped for. It has a few rushed plot points, but I'm done with 9 or 10 books to finish a story. Well done!
This series was really more like a single long book. It took me a while to get used to the writing style which could feel a little cliched. But by the end of the first book I was really enjoying the story and the pacing. It was great fun.
This story began a little slow but picked up pace as it went along. Like all M.R.Forbes' stories it is well worth the read. I have yet to find a story of his I have not extremely liked.
Dark and macabre at times but overall very uplifting. Mr Forbes is truly an exceptional author. Well written sir. I enjoyed the entire series immensely.
