This bear won't give up... Especially not on his little girl.
Oliver Atwater is a werebear with a haunted past. He's lost everything, including his best friend. Running away from it has produced nothing but heartache and violence, leading him into more trouble wherever he goes. But when a woman who takes his breath away walks into his life, holding the sweetest little baby girl, his heart is immediately claimed. The only problem is, she's been looking for him... and Oliver's not sure if he's ready to be found.
Deirdre Williams thought she'd seen everything. When a long lost friend stumbled into her life, terminally ill and clutching a newborn baby, that assumption was proved wrong and Deirdre's life was thrown into turmoil. Determined to track down the little girl's father, Deirdre finds herself staring at a man who makes her feel like maybe there's still a chance for normalcy. Little did she know that nothing could really be easy anymore...
When a broken bear and a woman with a mission meet to provide the best future they could for a little girl, sparks will fly. The question is, will they start a flame to warm both both hearts... or a blaze to destroy what's left?
Big Bear Father is a standalone werebear surprise baby romance novella that has a guaranteed HEA; no cheating. If you like shifters that stay true to their mission and the curvy, confident woman who love them, then this is just the book for you!

After spending what seems like the longest and most trying day she has had in a long time, Deirdre is slipping off her shoes, going to have a glass of wine and unwind. Then the doorbell happens. Now who can this be, she isn't expecting anyone. Opening the door she sees her cousin (who was more like a sister to her) standing there, very ill and a baby. What is she supposed to do? What is happening? Now, Deirdre is on her way to Sweetwater to find someone....she promised she would.
Grumpy, not a happy werebear, almost best to describe him as crotchety....truthfully. He is so grumpy that he is shouting for service in a little mom and pop diner....how is that for sinking low. Oliver is the angriest at himself. He has no friends at all, and that he blames himself for. The one and only friend he had is gone (dead) and Oliver is hurting and again blaming himself. He just doesn't know how upsetting he is to everyone else when he is in this mood, and he does not care. Wait, what is that heavenly scent. He turns and it is coming from the beautiful lady sitting next to him.....a calm state rushes over him and his bear....what is that all about?
Deirdre promised her cousin that she would do her best to find Hope's (her niece) daddy. She is not getting anywhere fast, she has been sent on what feels like a wild goose chase. But it is a promise she intends to keep. Hope after all deserves this. When she out searching she pulls into the diner and decides to grab a quick bite/beverage before asking more people about Dray (Hope's daddy.) She walks into a diner where one extremely ornery gentleman has seemed to put everyone in a mood. But, thinking nothing more about it, sits at the counter and Hope with her. All of a sudden she is aware of the ornery grump looking at her and striking up conversation....wow, what is his deal??!! She proceeds to ask him if he knew Oliver....he panics, he knows he has been with a few ladies but always protected. He doesn't want this woman ditching this kid on him, so he tells her his name is Dean.
Well "Dean" and his bear are attracted to Deirdre and they are asking questions of one another and pretty soon her story is completely out in the open to him, and other than his name, he has opened up to her....funny he has never felt the need or the passion to be as open with anyone else, only her, huh. Then things heat up. They both know they have a connection, but are they willing to see it through? Is the past hurts in Deirdre's life too much for her to move forward? Does "Dean" come clean with her before it is too late?
The sheriff (completely unaware of the situation) is the one who actually tells Deirdre of Dean/Oliver's real name, and there is a little bit of tension (to say the least) happening, especially after what happened last night. Now, if you read this book you will know all about the good parts I am skipping over. Can he get to her and explain? Can he actually be happy? Does Deirdre allow him another chance? What kinds of exciting things are happening for these two? Or is that where their story ends? Without reading this delicious book you are not going to know....you really need to read this book!
Big Bear Father BBW Werebear Surprise Baby Romance Sweetwater Father Bears by Anya Nowlan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Big Bear Father is a quick and light read but that doesn't mean the romance is lacking at all. In fact, the romance is my favorite part of this book. I loved this book it has great fully developed characters, funny dialogue and situations, moving storyline. I couldn't put it down and read until early morning. It has some sensual parts that is fantastic. I laughed, I had tears in my eyes a few times. I enjoyed reading this. I tend to enjoy reading Anya Nowlan books, which is why I decided to give this one five stars. The blurb made it sound fun and amusing. I knew it would end up being a another home run from Anya. It got a little sad for at some part. Luckily, It didn't last long. Big Bear Father has just the right amount of fun. Deirdre Williams is a fun and completely relateable main character. She is determined to find little Hope's father so that she can keep her promise she made to her cousin. Deirdre finds herself being attracted to a man who makes her feel like maybe there's still a chance for love. Oliver Atwater is a werebear that is angry at hisself and taking it out on everyone else. He feels so guilty about losing his best friend. So he is getting into trouble wherever he goes, but running away has only produced nothing but a heartache and violence. But I can basically say is I loved the main characters! There also weren't any other characters that I found too unlikable or annoying. Sometimes a minor character can really detract from my enjoyment of a book and I'm glad that this isn't the case.
I think this is a fantastic book that turned out to be totally, truly delightfully awesome reading. It has all the the romance that paranormal romance reader could want. I really loved this book I was surprised how many times by the twists and turns in the story. I found myself so connected with everyone one of the characters in some way. I felt their emotions just as they did. I am voluntarily reviewing a book gifted to me by the author with no obligation. I highly recommend this book.
If you believe in the world of shifter romance then the possibilities are endless and always fascinating.
Why oh why do we always think that keeping a secret, or delaying telling a “big truth” is a good idea? Big Bear Father is a really good story about finding a family…when you aren’t looking or when you least expect it. Deirdre Williams owns an interior design company and she is pulled into a search and the care of an adorable little girl named Hope. Oliver Atwater is a werebear shifter who makes his way back to Sweetwater and he is trying to come to terms with the death of a very dear friend, more like a brother to him. The story is how Deirdre and Oliver meet and get to know one another and it has all the heartwarming, fun, and intrigue that I have come to expect in an Anya Nowlan story about Sweetwater. The little girl will steal your heart and reading about Oliver’s and Deirdre’s HEA will make you feel good. This is a standalone, but part of a series that I love, that has us meeting up with friends from previous books – and I highly recommend.
Oliver is a grumpy, lonely bear shifter. Filled with anger and guilt he is not a pleasant man to be around. He misses his best friend Dray but it looks like he may have a connection to him, he may even have found something to heal him. Dierdre had her heart broken so doesn't want to trust again. When her cousin ends up on her doorstep with her baby Holly that all changes. So these two meet and sparks fly but honesty doesn't. But boy was it fun to watch these two flirt with each other. I know it's not right but I get why Oliver wasn't honest. In a way he is very vulnerable and you can't help but want to cuddle him, even when he was grouchy in the cafe. Dierdre putting her life on hold to search for Hollys dad shows how much heart she has. Even more so when she doesn't run from Oliver when he is being angry/grumpy. HOT!!! HOT!!!! You can see real emotion with these two and can't help but love them.

Lacking connection and honesty. Disappointing after book one but I do love the cover though. The honesty from book one was totally missing from this book. Oliver is not the most likeable of men. He seemed to already have a control/attitude problem, which gets worse after his best friend dies and he blames himself. He meets Deidre and lies straight away. He continues to lie even when he knows why Deidre is looking for him. His continuing to lie to Deidre even after having sex with her was wrong. If he had been honest before having sex with her, it would have changed the whole vibe of this book for me. I liked Deidre and how she stepped up to help Jamie and Hope. I just found she forgave Oliver way too easily. I also felt it all rushed at the end. The ones I felt really sorry for was Jacqueline/Jamie and Dray. They never had a chance to be together. Read through Kindle Unlimited.
Oliver Atwater is having issues with his temper. It has become worse since his friend Bray died. Even though it wasn't his fault he blames himself. Then Deirdre enters his life and things change. Deirdre has come to Sweetwater to find Oliver, but he doesn't tell her who he is. Why does a woman he doesn't know with a baby looking for him? Will Deirdre be able to find Oliver and learn the information she needs? Will the lie kill Olivers chances to win Deirdre? This was a very touching story and I give it 5 stars. "I voluntarily read and honestly reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Oliver is a bear carrying around a lot of guilt over his best friend. He's a loner and grouchy to everyone.. Deirdre's cousin shows up on her doorstop sick with a baby. She ask Deirdre to look for the babies father. Her search leads her to his friend Oliver. This was a good story. I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion
Im enjoying these little new baby romances. They're fun. I liked Oliver because I just enjoy some bad boys. Took me until 60% into the book to realize her name wasn't Deidre, but Deirdre. Lol 😂
It has been almost 20-years since Deirdre last saw her cousin Jamie; as children, they had been almost like sisters, so the fact that Jamie has turned up with a child in her arms, meant something was wrong. Deirdre adopts Jamie’s child and with only a name to go on heads for Sweetwater. Oliver is stubborn and has a short fuse. Whatever the reason, he just couldn’t help but find trouble wherever he went. Now he was hoping to change all that by coming to Sweetwater; being around his own kind would settle him and his bear. What had happened to Oliver’s best friend, Dray, had done nothing but flare Oliver’s already volatile temper; guilt leaves him with nothing but anger and self-loathing, with nowhere to channel it. When Deirdre and Oliver meet in the diner, a calming change comes over Oliver, while Dierdre wonders why she is talking to a man who didn’t appear in the best of moods. Deirdre says she is looking for Oliver, but since he has made plenty of enemies in his day, he is cautious than most with his identity and doesn’t own up to the fact that he is the man she is looking for, and it is not until his ruse is revealed that Oliver owns up. Oliver tells Deirdre the type of man Dray was and what happened to him and the impact it has had on his own life; but Oliver need Deirdre to know that Dray was a good man and would have been thrilled to find out he was a father. Oliver confesses how stupid and foolish he is, but that his feelings for her are real; he had never lied about anything, except his name, and asked for another chance at making things right, even if it meant moving back to Atlanta with them. Hope is the only thing she has left of Jamie and all that he has left of Dray, and he is able to connect to Hope on a level she never can. As their relationship develops, it is time to think about returning to Sweetwater; when Deirdre sees how happy Hope is she knows they have made the right decision. Deirdre had not really believed in fate before she met Oliver, but she was definitely a believer now! Another excellent, well-written story in this series that I would have no hesitation in recommending. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I absolutely adored this book, there was so much to it that i loved, i just couldn't stop reading once i started this!! It is such an addictive read with so much hope in it and i loved e feeling that there is always hope and love.
The storyline is brilliant, there are so many aspects to the storyline that just called to me as a reader and the inner romantic that i am. I loved how Anya Nowlan writes this book, it's like you see a window into the characters and the world that they live in, it really does just fire up my imagination and i can see the story in my mind as i read it and this shows amazing writing to me. I love the town of Sweetwaterand i am sure i am not the only one who will love this town, such a feeling of community and i love reading about that!!!
Dierdre is an amazing character to read about, she is such a strong compassionate woman who although she has pain and scars from her past she still holds so much hope and love. And i love her protective instincts for those that she loves, how she will put her own life on hold to care for and protect others! I really felt for Oliver, he has so much pain and guilt from his past that it seems like he can't get over although as well as this, when you get past this he is such a caring and loyal man who only wants the best for those that he loves with his big heart.
I absolutely adored this book and i hope that there will be more in this series, there is something about people taking on children that are not biologically theirs that means a lot to me and it's amazing to read!!! This is a must read for all, an addictive major page turner, seriously get a copy, it's awesome!!!!!
Oliver Atwater, a bear shifter has a haunted past. One that he thought he could outrun, he lost his best friend Dray and everything he held dear. Wherever he goes, he always found himself in some kind of trouble.
Deidre Williams, a beautiful woman who lost her best friend/cousin Jamie to a terminal illness after the latter stumbled into the former's life with a newborn baby in her arms. Deidre was one a mission to find baby Hope's father. Little did she know that her life was about to be turned upside once again.
Oliver was broken, he felt like he had nothing to offer anyone but when he met Deidre for the first time, he knew deep down that she was special and he wanted to get to know her better even though he lied when she asked him if he knew an Oliver Atwater.
When Deidre found out that the man she found herself falling in love for was actually the man she'd been looking for all along. She was really disappointed that he chose to lie to her instead of being honest.
Baby Hope was Dray's daughter with the latter no more, Oliver wanted to step up and be a part of his friend's daughter's life. He knew he messed things up with Deidre but he was willing to so whatever it took to get her to forgive him.
BIG BEAR FATHER is the second installment in Anya Nowlan's SWEETWATER FATHER BEARS series. The book was well paced, lovely and full of heart. Another excellent novel by Anya Nowlan.
Deirdre was an interior designer living her life when her cousin Jamie shows up at her door with a baby girl named Hope. Jamie was dieing of lung cancer and wanted Deirdre to take care of her baby and hopefully find hopes daddy Dray. Problem was Dray had seem to have fallen off the face of the earth but she did find his friend Oliver. Oliver had lost his best friend Dray in a car crash and he didn’t have much in his life to put him in the mood to better himself. That all changed when he meets his mate Deirdre and finds out the baby with her is his best friends child. To bad he didn't tell her the truth of who he was when he had the chance. FUn fast paced story filled with spice and drama. I loved the characters even if I wanted to kick Oliver in the butt for not telling the truth sooner. Lol Shifter fans it's a fun read. Don't miss it. Voluntary reviewed and I honestly loved it.
Oliver is a man running from the guilt of surviving a car accident that took the life of his best friend. Deirdre was jilted 2 days before her wedding and has never really gotten over it enough to trust men again. Deirdre shoes up with a baby looking for Oliver. He lies about who he is ,when they first meet. It's supposed to be just until he can find out why she's looking for him. But passion explodes between them before he can come clean about his true identity. Will they be able to work things out, or will they go their separate ways?
If I could give this 4.5 stars I would as this story has everything I look for when I'm reading. My problem is is as always the wrong word in the wrong place. I really wish the authors had better proof readers.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book Deirdre Williams thought she had seen everything but all of a soddenly she has a long lost friend came to see her and she has a terminal illness and a little girl and she has made a promise she will find the Father and he is a were bear so off she goes and he is a handsome sexy muscle bound bear and sparks fly oh yeah Oliver Atwater is a broken hearten were bear and he has give in up on love but this beautiful curvy women comes looking for him and she has a little girl with her and she looks just like him so what is a bear to do but his bear knows what to do he wants Deirdre. I loved this book it was great love story and mystery in it funny and sexy hot too. Michelle
And you are? Besides gorgeous and breathtaking...the reason my mood has changed. I feel a Zen feeling come over me like no other. Who is this woman looking for me.? Dee didn't know whether she should tell this loud mouth raucous of man her name. He was causing all Kim day of trouble when she walked in here but now he's the sweetest thing around me. Dr. Jenkle and Mr.Hyde complex. But goodness he is a fine piece of software specimen. Hi my name is Dean. I can help you find this Oliver character. What do you need him for? Dee knew she had to find him in order to find Dray for the sake of her cousin Jamie . She made a promise to her dying cousin to find her baby daddy. This a roller coaster of a story. But it's good.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book.
When Deirdre's cousin dies she gives custody of her baby daughter to Dierdre. She is looking for her niece's father and the only name she comes up with is Oliver Atwood, so she goes to Sweetwater, Wyoming. The first person she meets is a man who introduces himself as Dean. It isn't long before Dean is regretting his decision to introduce himself to his fated mate as Dean. Oliver is in love with Deirdre and wants to spend his life with her and help her raise his best friends daughter, but Deirdre doesn't take his lies well. Deirdre will have to learn to trust in love again, and Oliver will need to learn to trust his love for Deirdre. Sweet and sexy romance with a happily ever after.
A little baby brings them together but lies may tear them apart.
It is a good story about a bear shifter that is struggling with a lot of guilt and pain. When a woman tries to ask him for information, he is suspicious and lies to her. She is trying to find the father of her cousin's baby to fulfill a promise. She didn't expect to fall for a bear shifter in the process. It is a good romance and I enjoyed the story. Each book in the series features a similar theme about babies but is written as a standalone. so you can read them in any order.
This was an interesting story. It was well written and the plot flowed nicely. I liked both Olivier and Deirdre, and thought that they were good mates for each other. That being said, and while I love this author, this wasn't one of my favorites of hers. The backstories were too sad, and put a taint on the story that bothered me. I read to escape the sadness in reality, and the dark taint on their backstories kept me from fully enjoying it as much as I would have had things been lighter. I was gifted a copy.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Oh Oliver, don't be telling lies or lies can get bigger and then that leads to a heap of trouble. His trouble is in the shape of curvy Deirdre, with a sweet little baby girl Hope. Pretending to be Dean to help Deirdre find Oliver?? He realises Deidre has secrets too. Their chemistry is good and finally Oliver starts to settle in life as he always seems to attract trouble in one form or another. A beautiful story of Oliver and Deidre doing what's best for Hope and maybe themselves too. Quite heartwarming too. Loved it.
Deirdre Williams and werebear Oliver Atwater are both suffering from horrible losses, but little Hope gives them a chance to find the light in the saddness. This is book 2 in the Sweetwater Father Bears series and I'm falling more and more in love with this series and author with each page. Sweetwater is becoming more and more of a town full of kind hearted amazing people and I totally wish I could visit there!
She came to Sweetwater to find the man who is the father to her cousins child but she never thought she would find something more. He lost everything and now a sexy female is here asking questions about his dead friend. Will fate bring these 2 lonely people together because of the child or will fate be cruel and keep them apart.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book. This is book 2 of Sweetwater Fathers by the author.
An ARC was given to me and I agreed to voluntarily review it. My opinions are my own. He allows guilt to control his emotions and he uses anger to release the tension from his guilt. She is looking for someone so that she can keep a promise she made to her cousin. They met at a diner and it was instant attraction. This is a fun quick read. Enjoy I did.
Wow, Anya Nowlan has done it again!! This is another great book written by this fantastic author! This is the second book in the Sweetwater Father Bear's series. It is just as great as the first one to read. I can't wait to read more in this series. This book includes shifters, a baby, mates, relationship difficulties, and much more. I volunteered to read this book and leave an honest review.
The one thing everyone should know its harder to keep straight with the lies than it is with the truth. Oliver found this out the hard way. As always Anya has done it again with another great book, this one is part of the Sweetwater Father Bear's series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
What a sad way to become a parent. Diedre has become a mom and is out trying to find the baby's father. Torn by pain in her past she meets a man who lights up all her senses. Together they work to overcome their individual pain and provide the loving home the baby needs.
It is a great story and I really enjoyed it. It was fun, exciting, sad and suspenseful. To get a baby that way and then to go to try and find the father of friend of the father and having him lie to you. Together they do things that are heart warming. I recommend it. “I am voluntarily reviewing a book gifted to me by the author with no obligation.”
I enjoyed the story. The storyline is easy to follow. Oliver and Dierdre had troubled pasts in totally different ways and come together in a way that lets you fall in love with Oliver and appreciate Dierdre's courage in taking a chance.
It's a good read.
Note: I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Deirdre and Oliver, both grieving the loss of someone they loved. But it's a small world, and their deceased loved ones were connected, and now have brought Deirdre and Oliver together. Their instant connection and love for a parentless baby will heal their hearts and give them a beautiful future. This was a short book, but packed with a lot of emotion.
