When your infant is read to start solid food you may want to think about making your own baby foods. Although store bought Baby Food can be organic and wholesome some prefer homemade. For those who like to know where the child's food comes from and are able to make it themselves. Baby Food Universe is chock full of a variety of recipes for Baby's first solid foods and you can expieriment and make them your own as well. Just be certain the ingredients are age appropriate for your child.
Baby Food Universe discusses how to tell when a baby is ready for solid foods. Also covered is the most common food allergies to watch for and how to introduce new foods and when, as well as what food reactions to watch for. There are some foods you need to avoid during the first year. Along with so much more to inform you about the cautions and and joys of prepping your own baby food. There are even recipes for first finger foods.
The recipes are straight forward and are easy to follow. Photos are clean and clear. Some of the photographs make me wonder if there might be a time to enjoy a few of them myself.
My rating of "Baby Food Universe - Raise Adventurous Eaters with a Whole World of Flavorful Purées and Toddler Foods" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.

August 30, 2017Colorful, fully illustrated and scared parent friendly. Recipes in the title are easy to follow, the font used is very appealing and the food created seemed to please my child. The title offers tips for parents on the recipe page and a full age food introduction chart in the front matter. This is title is a very child friendly cookbook that could be used for any finicky eater.

My daughter will be 16 weeks old tomorrow so I was really interested to see what this book could offer in terms of ideas for when she is to be weaned in the future. I do like to plan in advance so even though this is still a few weeks away I have some really good ideas for what I can prepare for her. The book was laid out really well and I liked the suggestions on how to introduce the different foods to check for allergies, etc and the tips on getting the plastic bowls and spoons. As a first time mum all of this is new to me and I thought that the book was ideal as a guide - 5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
There are a lot of baby food recipe books around. I have a toddler so I've read a lot. This one stands out. Te way the pages are organised is very clear, easy to follow and fun.
The step by step pictures make it super simple even for someone who can't cook, with plenty of tips along the way.
To me what was most interesting were the puree recipes, as they were quite unique with an original blend of flavours that I had never seen before. I'd definitely recommend to anyone with a baby!

Amazing. I fell in love with it and I will be buying a paperback. Very clearly written, with short descriptions, interesting and a must have for everyone who has a baby. I will definitely try out all of the recipes in this book.

Easy recipes, lots of useful information & great illustrations. I personally don't have kids, but I can totally see myself gifting this to a mother who wants to learn more about nutrition. I do wonder whether this would be a good gift to a first time mom, since that first period can already be very stressful & I wouldn't want to make it worse. I guess it is all dependent on the mom in question ;)
The book does switch a lot between male and female pronouns to describe the baby, which kept annoying me whilst reading. I would have found it more logical if they had used 'they/them', but that might just be a personal preference.

This cookbook was a wealth of knowledge and helped steer me in the right direction for not only making all of my little one's food from scratch but helped me to plan out her menus and get new things in front of her. I loved all of the brightly colored pictured and the instructions were so easy to follow.

This book is fun, colorful, and has a lot of useful information about getting started. One of the many charts I found helpful laid out what age foods can be introduced by category (fruit, grain, etc.). There are so many recipes are included in this book, even 2, 3, and full meal recipes. I really learned a lot from the information about starting finger foods."

Clear and easy to follow with some great ideas for food and facts for remembering when cooking and storing. Great visuals.

This had a few recipes I really liked, but there were definitely mostly purees, which I think are pretty self-explanatory.
