Middlemarch Shifters #1-3 Included

Middlemarch Shifters: Box Set 1 - 3

Rate this book

Welcome to Middlemarch, rural home of a secret community of black leopard shifters. Residence of the Mitchell brothers and their friends. All scallywags and rascals, according to the elders on the Feline council.

But with a shortage of marriageable females, what is a single man to do when his livelihood is chained to the land and there are no women to offer distraction? They get up to enough mischief to turn the oldest Mitchell brother’s hair gray. That’s what!

Want to know a secret?

All that is about to change because the elders have a plan. They’re set on changing the status quo and are arranging a ball to entice young women to the rural town. And, from what I hear, that is just the start of their grandiose plans.

This should be very interesting. Let’s stand back and watch the fall-out!

My Scarlet Woman (Middlemarch Shifters #1)

Emily Scarlet’s husband left her for his secretary and died in a car accident - all on the same day. Now, six months later, Emily has emerged from her chrysalis of painful memories. To prove she has what it takes to attract a man, she’s determined to experience one perfect night of passion...

Feline shapeshifter, Saber Mitchell has a problem with his four boisterous younger brothers. They’re out of control, causing trouble and dragging him into the mire. It’s too late for him, but he hopes to get his brothers mated and settled, and the inaugural Middlemarch ball is the place to introduce them to marriageable women...

Unbridled sex is the last thing on Saber’s mind, but one glimpse of the bubbly Emily Scarlet in her slinky red dress changes his mind. Sex with her is a necessity. They dance. They make love - passionate, intoxicating and satisfying...

One thing is clear - a single night isn’t enough. Saber must have her for his mate, but Emily isn’t so easy to convince... or trust.

My Younger Lover (Middlemarch Shifters #2)

Feline shifter Lisa Jordan lost her husband two years ago and now it’s time to start living again. At the Middlemarch singles’ ball, she’s attracted to a sexy shifter, but his identity comes as a huge shock. Big, big shock since man she’s ogling is one she knew as a teenager!

Sam Mitchell has harbored a crush on Lisa for years. A relationship was impossible then, but now he’s eager to stake his claim. A few dances turns into a one-night stand full of exciting, satisfying sex. Sam wants more, but first he’ll need to persuade Lisa to his way of thinking...

Back at home in Christchurch, Lisa’s life takes a different turn when she attracts the attention of a mystery stalker. Juggling her safety and a romance with the gorgeous Sam is certainly spicing up her life. If only she lives to enjoy the rewards...

My Peeping Tom (Middlemarch Shifters #3)

The residents of Middlemarch have a nickname for reporter Tomasine Brooks. They call her Peeping Tom and refuse to answer her questions about the mysterious black cats spotted in the vicinity. To them she’s an outsider - the enemy - who has no place in their close-knit shifter community...

Tomasine is determined to find a safe place to settle but earning the locals’ trust seems impossible. In desperation, she decides to seduce the sexy Felix Mitchell into giving away Middlemarch’s secrets because it’s a matter of life or death... hers!

From the moment feline shifter Felix Mitchell crashes into Tomasine, outside the post office, he desires her with an urgency that makes him suspect they are fated mates!

USA Today Bestselling author, Shelley lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and a rambunctious puppy.

Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak - big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.

While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love - that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby and rugby league (strictly for research purposes), being walked by the dog, and curling up with a good book.

Middlemarch

Shifters smothering their scent for their own protection. Then there are the other shifters in town who belong to the same clan. No one knows who to trust. Great series and highly recommend.

Not just cat shifters but black leopards!! I'm in heaven. IRL black leopards are rare but in Middlemarch they populate an entire shifter town, and are not just in New Zealand but around the world. Saber is the oldest of the Mitchell brothers and tries to keep his younger brothers in line, with minimal success. The shifter council decides they need to bring more women to their town which will hopefully allow the rowdy young shifters to find mates and settle down. Their first effort is a dance which brings widowed Emily to town. She's looking for a one stand not love. Saber realizes immediately she's his mate so Saber has his work cut out for him. Sam has loved Lisa from afar because he's younger and she's married. Now widowed, when she returns to Middlemarch for a single's ball, Sam makes his move but someone else wants all her attention. Felix can't stand snoopy reporting Tomasine until he realizes she's his mate. Running from her past, Felix will have to use every trick to get her to stay and trust him. All three couples find HEA but first there's angst and plenty of sexy time.

I only read the first book in this box set, and I'm afraid I didn't like it enough to read the others. Now, as a reader of romance, I like a good sex scene as much as the next person, but this book was ridiculous. It was simply chapter after chapter of the two characters having sex. It actually reached the point where the sex was boring me! There simply wasn't anything else to the book. Nothing else was fleshed out or explored, there was no real story worth mentioning. No connection (other than sexually) between the characters (who were underdeveloped, and in Jo/Emily's case somewhat insipid).

It's not the worst thing I've ever read, but it just wasn't good enough to sit through more of the same in the next two stories.

Mate Needed!

Mate needed; please come & join the party & maybe find a mate too.

The men & women (single only) need mates & the way to bring them in per the Council of Middlemarch is to have a party for the inmates & bring in single women (for the most part) so that the single men can find their mates.

Saber Mitchell is 1 of the Council members & was think of his brothers when he agreed; but he found a mate at the party & his story is Book 1.

The next 2 books are about 2 of this brothers; 1 of the Mates used to live in Middlemarch & the other used to be a Queen (but you don’t find out about that until near the end of the book).

These books were very good & I will in the future be reading the rest of the series.

Engaged and drawn in

I have just finished the Middlemarch Shifters boxset 1-3. I love the cat shifters and how they develop through the story. The danger and excitement is enough to keep you lost in the stories. The stories are different enough and the people overlap to ensure continuity and familiarity.
I REALLY want all the other stories. These are definitely what I will read again and again.
Thank you Shelley Munro.

I love reading Shelley Munro stories. They combine all the good stuff. There's romance, drama, laughs, wonderful characters and a great setting. These are the first three books in the series and it is a wonderful introduction. Each story is standalone and filled with so much emotion. I would love Middlemarch to be real because I want friends like these.

Black panther shifters in New Zealand!

Emily wants a fling after her husband dies in a car crash the day he leaves her. She gets more than she bargains for!

Lisa has come back home to the Middlemarch dance because her human husband has died and she hears him telling her to move on. Will that younger shifter help with her strange stalker?

Peeping Tom is what the community calls her. After moving to Middlemarch to protect her daughter and "Cousin" will she be able to trust her true mate, or will she be betrayed and used again?

If you like steaming passion, romance and shapeshifters and you don't need a lot of storytelling, then this is a book for you. Especially the first book was a little lacking in the storytelling part, but who cares if the characters are hot and steamy and having a good time? I don't. Especially when book 2 and 3 had a little more story and world building going on. So now I am reading book 4....

True 💘

Really enjoyed the story lines in all three books. What there was of it. The vast majority of pages were just describing sex. Love stories are great and when you combine them with intrigue they're even better. I guess I just need to go with a different author.

A nice set of shifter HEAs

I liked this set of shifter books. The three stories were engaging and the characters were endearing. The last book was the most surprising, also for me, the most emotional.

Family

They try to live in peace. It doesn't always happen that way. But finding their mates. Does seem to help.
