Melissa Mathison died Nov. 4, 2015. She wrote the screenplay to one of my favorite movies of all time, which is what made me remember that I had read this book some time after seeing the movie. I remember begging to see this movie for my 10th birthday when the movie opened. I fell in love. It will forever hold a special place in my heart.
RIP, Melissa.

This is just a direct adaption of E.T. and is extremely accurate. It replicates all of the scenes from the film, though it’s not as great of course. The only notable difference from the movie is that this is a book, and when it comes to books, there’s an issue that can be found in many reads: shit pacing. The pacing for this was all over the place. Still, this was just a fun read that was just the movie in book form, and I really enjoyed it. 9/10.

December 20, 2017Awesome novelization of the book with minor changes or additions to the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It tells details of how the ship came down and tells what E.T. is thinking. It's a must read for any E.T. fans.
