Just when Kyle Matthews’ SEAL team thought their work was done, they learn they’ve only gotten started.
Navy SEAL Kyle Matthews has been through hell and back after the death of his brother Nick. Now he’s going rogue to bring down Miles Arrieta—the man responsible for Nick’s death—before he can destroy the global economy. This time, Kyle won’t stop until the threat has been contained—permanently. The only thing standing in his way is his dead brother’s beautiful wife.
Special Agent Natalie Matthews is still coping with her husband’s death when she receives orders to bring in Arrieta—alive. With her job on the line, she won’t let anything stand in her way—not even her former husband’s impulsive brother. Natalie’s always been a master of disguises, but this time she’ll have to hide the forbidden feelings she’s having about Kyle if she wants to come out on top.
In their hunt to bring down the man at the heart of the terror network, Natalie and Kyle form a reluctant partnership that quickly sparks to life. But with different agendas and Nick’s death between them, who knows where their loyalties lie.

The story is a blend of humor, revenge, passion, heartbreak, hope, and witty banter. As one reader put it, ‘This story had me squealing at the romantic moments and silly moments.’

Hunting with a SEAL was an almost okay read. I am partial to military heroes, so I was prepared to really enjoy the book. However, I just couldn't get into it. The plot was not authentic to me. A SEAL team does not operate on domestic soil - because the Constitution doesn't allow it. Other writers have handled this by having their military personal work off the grid with private contractors on their own time, etc. North's characters used the word 'soldier' to refer to each other. SEALs are sailors and you shouldn't get that confused. One of my uncles was a career Marine, the other career Navy. You didn't say 'soldier' without being told that meant the army. You didn't call them 'sir' without being told 'I work for a living.' The little details are what did the story in for me. The characters were superficial. The dialogue was predictable.
Natalie has joined in an agreement with her brother-in-law, Kyle to find her late husband's killer. The CIA is involved; Kyle's SEAL team joins them to find the killer too.
Both Natalie and Kyle share the sorrow at the loss of Nick, Kyle's brother and Natalie's late husband and are having trouble moving on with their lives. They are also strongly attracted to each other and feel guilt about being disloyal to Nick's memory if they pursue those feelings. Add a terrorist that is threating the world with a cyber attack to cripple the world wide web that was behind Nick's murder and the adventure continues with a large vehicle ramming into Nick and Natalie's car and a final showdown. This all ends in a happy ending with the terrorist captured, and all four remaining team members have found the women meant for them.
Kyle Matthews won’t rest until the man responsible for his brother’s death is caught. Unfortunately, it looks like he will have to work with his brother’s widow, Special Agent Natalie Matthews, to complete the job. This was the first book I read by this author. I wasn’t really sure that I would get into it, but it was surprisingly good. I would like to read more from this author as well as read the other books in this series that involved the other members of the seal team. I recommend. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
The writing was okay - fairly simple in style - but it's not the best military romance I have read, by a long shot. This book is obviously part of an ongoing series, one I haven't read unfortunately, so I was a bit lost. I would say if you are going to read this very fast paced novella, please start with book one so you won't be confused or bombarded with stacks of information in the first chapter. My thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC in return for my opinion.
I have loved the series from book 1to book 4 it was one long continuous story that you had to read all of the books.I love Leslie North books and have quite a few of them.
Almost in the vein of an enemies to lovers story involving Kyle who is obsessed with finding the person/s responsible for his brother's death and vengeance. Natalie, his brother's wife is working for the CIA and has been tasked with capture alive. Kyle does not trust his sister and has good reason for those feelings. An appreciation for the story requires that you recognize that this is fiction, not true to life and many inconsistencies with realtiy. A good, suspenseful story, regardless. 3 stars - Goodreads means I liked it, and I did. Thank you to the author, City Owl Press and Netgalley for the opportunity to read pre-release.
Leslie North has a way of writing hot, romantic, mysterious, action packed books and this one is yet another winner.
Natalie Matthews works for the CIA and is the widow of Nick Matthews
Kyle Matthews is a member of Seal Team 10 and the brother of Nick Matthews who was killed in action.
Natalie and Kyle have struggled with the sexual tension between them since they first met at a Thanksgiving get together at the Matthews family ranch and now they struggle with these feelings because they feel like they are dishonoring Nick's memory.
Natalie and Kyle must agree to work together toward the single goal of bringing in Nick's killer alive while they also work with the remaining members of Seal Team 10 to stop a computer virus that could shut down basically everything in the world! Kyle has also added protecting Natalie to his list of responsibilities. At the end of this story Natalie and Kyle discover that Nick wanted both of them to go on with their lives and find their own "bliss"
This book is filled with everything Leslie North is famous for writing into all her books. I did not want to put it down once I started reading. I voluntarily reviewed the ARC of this book
I highly recommend this book as I would any book written by this author. I did give this book a 5 star rating because it was just that good
ARC Review: Hunting with the Seal (Saving the Seals) by Leslie North
In the midst of a dangerous situation lies two people with conflicting agendas and an equally complicated attraction. The history between Natalie and Kyle begins and ends with the death of Kyle's brother Nick. They both want somebody to pay but have different views on how retribution should be carried out. For Kyle, it's personal and the punishment should fit the crime. For Natalie, her emotions cannot interfere with her doing her job. Nick wants his brother's murderer dead. Natalie has rules to follow and that means facing off with her dead husbands ruthless brother. Fighting on opposite sides of the spectrum breeds a lust for danger and each other that is as tempting as it is taboo. Who will be the ultimate winner in this lethal showdown? Hunting with the Seal is more action than love story but it is an emotional roller coaster ride.
Kyle and his team of SEAL brothers have been on the hunt for the man behind his brother, Nick's, death and the end is near. What he didn't count on was seeing Natalie, Nick's widow and the woman he was attracted to, going after the same man for the CIA. Natalie hopes that if she brings justice for Nick's death it will help in some way. What she didn't expect is to be drawn into Nick's SEAL team and his brother, Kyle. The two had an attraction from the first moment they met, but she was with Nick so they both ignored it. Natalie and Kyle butt heads on numerous occasions, but neither can deny the attraction is still there. One night together has Natalie running and finds them both face to face with the man responsible for Nick's death. Natalie and Kyle were both thrown for a loop with the death of Nick, but I love that they find their way together and both are so deserving of it. I loved this series from Leslie North. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Natalie Matthews is a really intriguing character. A widow, CIA agent and a real firework. Mix in an unhealthy obsession with her brother in law, who has come to think of her as a treasonous mole and you have yourself a cracking storyline!
Kyle Matthews is a Seal and took over his team upon the death of his brother Nick. He is hot on the trail of his sister in law, who worked, whether under cover with the CIA or not with the SOB who killed his brother. Talk about conflicted! They have chemistry off the charts but struggle with the guilt that they each feel over how Nick would react to then being together, never mind the rest of the Matthews clan.
Wonderful book encompassing hot Military guys, sneaky secret agents, treason and perilous situations. I highly recommend giving yourself a few hours of peace and quiet to read this all in one go!
I voluntarily reviewed the ARC of this book via Netgalley
This is the final book in this series. The story is more suspense than romance.
Kyle wants revenge for his brother Nick’s death. He and his Seal team are on the hunt for Miles Arietta. Kyle won’t be happy until he can put a bullet between his eyes.
Natalie is Nick’s widow. She works for the CIA. She wants Nick’s killer brought to justice, but in a courtroom.
Kyle and Natalie’s attraction heats up the longer they are forced to work together. Both feel guilt over it. The push and pull between Kyle and Natalie grated at times but made sense.
I liked the HEA and the way the storyline for catching the bad guys played out. Not sure I believe Nick and Kyle’s parents would be ok with Kyle and Natalie together only nine months after Nick’s death.
I love the closeness of Seal Team 10. I would love to see a novella about them 5 years down the road.
I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion This was awesome!!! As the 4th and final in the seal series this is the best conclusion. I felt like the whole series was a series of Jason Statham movies only with a different hot SEAL in each one with an equal hot a feisty heroine. In this one Kyle Matthews the leader of the SEALs who have been targeted as the killer of his brother Nick. Nick's widow Natalie works for the CIA and has been under cover trying to get info on the people they think helped the SEALs and proof of some other bad people and corruption. All the who dun it it crazy and it leads to some very exciting scenes. I love the forbidden romance between this two and how they help each other with solving the mystery as well as the grief over the person they lost. So many subtleties in a short read but so worth it
The only thing Kyle Matthews wants to do is avenge his brother, Nick’s death. He wants to put a bullet between Miles Arrieta’s eyes but Nick’s widow, Natalie wants Arrieta alive. She works for the CIA and those are the orders she is given. The agency has forced them to work together to bring this evil man in before he unleashes a virus into the WWW. The attraction between these two heats up the longer they are together but guilt is keeping them apart.
We finally get to see the bad guy get what is coming to him and the closure for Kyle and the men on his brother’s team. This author did a great job pulling it altogether for the ending of this series. The H&H were well balanced in their roles, the teammates added fun and humor to the dialogue. I enjoyed this series.
Hunting with the Seal is a short novella and features Seal Team 10 Kyle Matthews, who is trying to avenge the death of his brother Nick. He’s working with Nick’s widow Natalie who works for the CIA. The two have always felt an attraction and it's amplified with Nick gone. I am always a little hesitant to read stories with this trope, because it makes me uncomfortable imagining a brother-in-law and sister-in-law having feelings for each other, which I assume they feel while still still married to the brother/sister. Leslie North handled it well in Hunting with the Seal, and I found Hunting with the Seal to be a satisfying read with an emphasis on suspense rather than romance.
ARC kindly provided by publisher via Netgalley in return for an honest review.
So the reader comes to the final book to find Nick's killer and solve the mystery. The seal team leader Kyle must work with Natalie, Nick's wife to bring the killer to light and justice with the help of his seal team. Really enjoyed this series which was a page turner.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinion is my own.
